LG G4 Sim Lock - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just been to an O2 shop in the UK and purchased the G4 - I was curious as to if it was SIM locked to O2. I entered '2945#*xxx#' replaced 'xxx' with the model number of 815 and was presented with window for SIM Unlock Process under each of the options other than Network Lock which invites me to enter a key I was given a message stating that "Your phone is not personalised."
Unfortunately I cannot get the G4 to take a screen shot within the app although holding down the centre button and volume down worked fine under the home screen.
Can I assume then that the O2 supplied model is not network locked?

No, it is network locked. It has no O2 branding though.

I also have a G4 from O2 and am having the same problem unlocking it. I tried the live chat with O2 but they could not help me get past the phone not personalised message. They told me to go to one of their shops but not much help as I am in the Middle East for a couple of months. Any suggestions.

bin it and get an s6 edge

I did the same but it's showing "this phone is perma locked... it can't be unlocked".
I have never tried unlocking it. It's a vodafone (Otelo) branded phone and it worked with a O2 card for months. Now the last 3 days, i lose signal every 5 minutes... What is wrong went back from cm13 to stock, same problem... I can't call anyone and cannot be called... even if i have signal... only sometimes... thats weird...

Unlocking MDA III

I Ordered MDAIII from T-Mobile , I didnt get yet but can some one help me with unlocking this phone . Is it posible to unlock this phone to use other GSM Networks. Will unlocking of extended ROM do the trick which I found in some other topic in this forum .

Should come unlocked but it will be in German.
I got the MDAIII on T-Mobile in the UK and had to pay £15 for them to give me an unlock code.
AAARGGHHHH! - Unlocking T-Mobile (UK) MDA III Sim
Bought this device earlier this month. Can anyone help provide the unlocking sequence cause T-Mobile certainly can't! They say they can provide the unlocking code (eventually) but not the sequence, and to get it I have to contact the device manufacturer! I`m travelling to the USA in 1 weeks time and want to use a T-Mobile USA SIM card whilst there. :x
What do you mean by sequence.
T-Mobile gave me an unlock code - I put my O2 SIM card into the MDAIII and it asked for the unlock code - I entered it. It is now unlocked and works with my O2 SIM
Hmmm, never having unlocked a SIM card before I am going by T-Mobile's advice that there is a specific sequence of key stroke entries that need to be followed before I get to the screen that asks for the code. From what you say it might be no more difficult than taking out the UK SIM card, replacing it with the USA SIM card, a screen appears asking for the unlock code which I enter, and hey presto - job done!
Have I read this right? Is this all you do?
Yes, you are right. It is as simple as that.
MDAIII unlock code availability
Who or where at T-Mobile UK can a SIM unlock code be purchased for 15 pounds? I just got my MDAIII from the Oxford Street retail store but need to use it in areas overseas without T-Mobile service.
Thanks...
I telephoned CS and they gave me the unlock code
italian Rom for xda III

Thank you

O2 XDA2s lock
I got my xda2s a week ago and when i called O2 they told me that there is no way i can unlock my phone before the 12month contract ends!
That is really annoying, but they told me its part of my contract agreement!(which i haven't seen mentioned anywhere...)
I need to use it in another network over the christmas, so if there is any other way i can get this unlock code you are talking about, or any software that takes away the lock PLEASE share it.
I really appreciate it.
George
It may be worth ring O2 again. It seems to me that it's the luck of the draw whether you get someone in customer services who
a. gives you the unlock code immediately
b. charges you for an unlock code and unlocks it immediately
c. tells you it can't be done until the end of the first 12 months of your contract.
T Mobile Unlocking
I recieved my MDA III Yesterday
I phoned T mobile straight away on 150 (from the handset) they were very helpful and told me they are happy to unlock it
but I had to have the contract for 1 month
only 30 days to go

georkal woudl you please tell me exactly-
Which customer service number you have called?
How can you tell them to unlock the phone? (I hv Voda Sim? I go overseas?)
Thanks a lot indeed
I'm glad you got it sorted georkal.
It's always been like this with O2, I wonder what there 'official' policy is supposed to be? Everyone who calls them seems to get a different answer.
o2 - no help at all!
Hi there,
I have tried O2 a number of times, and each time I come across the same problem - if you aren't an 02 customer, then no unblock for you.
Does anyone have any advice on how to get this thing unblocked?
Tony
Phone your own provider. I'm on T-Mobile and had to pay £15 to get it unlocked.
I spoke to O2 Cust Service 202 many times......
(1)bring it to shop they will unlock for ya
(2)impossible
(3)not until 12 months later
Keep calling - 02 will give the unlock eventually.
I just told them that I was travelling to the US and wanted to connect to a different network while I was there. My unlock code is in the post right now - can't wait!

x10 Mini unlock needed??

Hey there.
I just recently been given a x10 mini. I would like to use it on O2 Uk.
Thing is I'm not too sure if the phone is unlocked or needs to be unlocked.
I've never used or owned an android phone before.
I can insert any sim card into the phone, the phone boots up, picks up a reception.
But when I try to make any calls I get an error message. 'Call Ended'.
Also I do not know what network the phone was on before.
There is no icons in the phone menu like O2, or Orange, vodaphone etc.
Can any give me some info or point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advanced.
Merry Xmas!

IS likely the handset is blocked. I had a similar issue when I bought one from ebay. Again since it accept all sim is likely unlocked already so u need to contact who sold u the x10 to get back to the network operator. If is a stolen phone then obviously it is illegal for u to own it.
It is likely that the phone is blacklisted... There is 1 way out of this
(reconmended) Ring up the O2 Show them a proof of purchase via email and ask them very polielty to unblock the IMEI
Hope that helped
Mod Edit:Your first choice was Ironic and un-funny.

Unlocking help

I have an S2 i9100p which was originally locked to orange under contract, before the contract in late 2013 expired I had it unlocked and everything worked fine until one day it stopped, completely blank, not even switching on... I sent it back to a registered Samsung Repairer and when i got it back everything was different due to the repairs they made, the android version was different to the version i had originally and the phone was no longer unlocked... I have since tied many methods, bought a code online, still locked... on 3 seperate occasions i took it to a local unlocking shop and each time they couldnt do it and couldnt explain why... I have also rooted it with frama root as its the only rooting software that has seemed to work since the repair and then tried the samsung unlock app from this site in the playstore, some apps dont even recognise the phone as a samsung settings for about device > status under phone number say its unknown but recognises the device name and model, imei, etc.. but still no avail to unlocking.... can anyone shed any alternate solutions on how i can unlock this? I dont wanna take it back to the samsung place cos they are so far away and want to charge £50 to try, not to unlock it, to try.... please someone gimme a solution as orange dont provide a good enough service for the area i live and my general usage needs require more than they offer on a payg orange sim (the only sims that work)... ive periodically tried different cards in the hope that it unlocked magically but always get the same screen sim network unlock pin which i dont have , help before my phone becomes a high speed projectile

Locked or not locked?

I have an unusual question that I am hoping soneone can help me with. I purchased a Sony Xperia Z mobile phone from a seller on eBay. He listed the phone as "ohne Vertrag" meaning off contract. Nowhere in the listing was it suggested it was branded or locked.
When I received the phone I discovered it is in fact locked to T-Mobile Germany. And not only that, it is also hard locked from too many unlock attempts.
The German T-Mobile web site has a place where customers can request unlock codes. When I enter this IMEI number it comes back as not SIM locked or not sold by t-mobile. Very odd.
Why would the phone not be shown as locked by T-Mobile when it clearly is, according to the service menu, and is branded with their splash screens?
I can't see why anyone would take an unlocked phone and then SIM lock it when it wasn't locked in the first place.
The seller I bought it from may have acquired it from "as good as new", a reputable seller of second hand phones in Germany. The box has their stickers on it. I doubt they would have sold a locked device without informing the buyer.
Any ideas? Obviously I have logged a dispute with the seller but so far he is ignoring all communication. I'm wondering if anything I can do to get this device unlocked?
Follow up: Maybe it's T-Mobile Austria. The phone's last weather location setting appears to have been Vienna...
BTW surely there must be a way to get the phone to show me WHICH provider it is locked to?

Unlocked phone locked after one year with "Network locked SIM card inserted"

Unlocked phone locked after one year with "Network locked SIM card inserted"
I purchased new unlocked Galaxy Alpha on eBay about a year ago. The phone worked fine this whole time and suddenly after a short outage of my mobile network it got kicked out with "Network locked SIM card inserted" message.
My operator checked the SIM is OK with other phone and gave a me couple of codes which didn't work so they told me they can't fix it.
I tried to buy unlock code on several Web sites but couldn't find someone supporting Galaxy Alpha with Israel Pelephone provider.
How is it even possible for the phone to lock after being unlocked for such a long period of time? What sites can you recommend for getting unlock codes?
Thanks.
