[n5207] q & a - Oppo N3

I have Chinese N5207, and I have been trying everything from the minute I got it to have it rooted with Wi Fi working, but I'm having some trouble.
How I got where I am:
Installed modified stock recovery image flashed (earlier posted by Lum in an old thread), wifi was not working, flashing stock ROM was not working.
I deleted system partition using fastboot (I am an expert, so this might have been a bit too wrong, but I wanted to cleanup)
Tried to flash CM12 and stock N5207, but it fails.
I flashed CM12 boot.img and the installed n3root .zip, and they completed successfully.. but then I still have no system, I try to install stock or CM again, not working
In an attempt to fix the deleted system partition, I flashed a boot.img using "fastboot flash system boot.img", which completed successfully, but still stock recovery won't flash any OS, and now I'm stuck.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

[Q] Unable to mount /data

Hi,
I've just tried and failed to install the "cm-12-20150218-NIGHTLY-nicki" ROM on my phone. Specs are:
Official Android 4.3 Firmware
Model: C1904
Timeline:
Unlocked bootloader according to instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484428
Phone then got stuck in official boot animation (the colourful one)
Didn't bother flashing the "Elixer" kernel as suggested in above thread
Used fastboot to flash the boot.img from the CM zip file
Booted to recovery
Wiped data & cache
Flashed CM & GApps from external SD card
Restarted phone
Phone showed big Android robot animation and then went back to CyanogenMod Recovery
Looking at logs showed "Cannot load volume /misc" error
Found a forum post saying this thread helped with the above error: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m/development/cwm-twrp-recoveries-cm12-lollipop-t2979752
Tried flashing TWRP recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...very-cwm-twrp-recoveries-custom-roms-t3016507) within CyanogenMod Recovery, but it said the file integrity was bad or something
Used "fastboot flash boot FOTAKernel.img" to flash the above, which worked
Tried to wipe data from within TWRP, but got "failed to mount /data" errors
So the phone is now in a state where:
I can only boot into TWRP
I can't use ADB since the program on the computer won't detect the phone
Fastboot still works
I can't boot into Android
Something seems wrong with "/data"
Any ideas about where to go from here?
I was able to use Flashtool to flash the official firmware back on and boot into it as normal. After doing that and restarting the procedure to install CM12 2015-02-19, this time it installed just fine.
Although I still got errors about "Cannot load volume /misc". Hopefully they don't matter...
Now you have CM12 installed and it is working?
Had the same errors when I tried to flash CM12. Flashing CM11 worked fine but I could not get CM12 to boot...

Yeah; it's installed and working fine. When I flashed the official firmware, (Android 4.3) I told Flashtool to flash everything including the kernel. That seemed to put the phone back into a good state, which allowed me to install CM12.
I'm not sure what caused the problem in my case. Maybe it was unlocking the boot loader.

Can't upgrade TWRP from 2.8.7 to 3.0.2

Hi, I flashed the FOTA Kernel with TWRP 2.8.7 onto my phone and inside TWRP I flashed the recovery with the 3.0.2 TWRP image (telling me "Successfully flashed")
But after rebooting I still have TWRP 2.8.7
Using windows command line and "fastboot flash recovery "TWRP.....img" I get this "FAILED" message.
What am I doing wrong?
I even flashed the phone back to stock and then followed these instructions but same result.
Is my phone broken or sth?
Hi H4NNE5, the Xperia M does not have a recovery partition. The TWRP recovery is included in the boot partition when flashing the kernel. Try to upgrade with the TWRP-Manager if your phone is rooted.
Hi Lightningsfire, Thanks for you answer.
Ok, that's weird because I read a lot of threads but none said anything like that. I'm more confused right now.
Anyhow the LineageOS is not properly working on my phone anyhow so I set it back to Stock Rom and check back in a few months if it improved
One more question:
So if I flash the whole software package the boot partition is overwritten then, right? Because I noticed that the Recovery was a different one, after I flashed the system.

[Solved]Can't flash rom+gapps

Ota updated to p2a4 or something like that. sf244 ROW
unlocked oem (waited 14days)
flashed twrp.
factory resetted+format system. + data partition is ext4

gapps starts flashing but keeps stuck after just 1% of flashing.. always.

If you have backup then Install your stock rom and its every components such as boot, recovery etc....
Or download the fastboot files from the p2 thread and flash it.
Then properly install twrp.
How can i properly install twrp?.. I mean, i think i always installed in correctly...otherwise magisk wouldn't work., right?. Because it does. I need your help. I even got Safetynet Pass and Root Apps like Root Explorer is working Fine.
Only the Flashing of Custom Roms etc fails for me... It's weird.
Okey. I just redid it like 5 Times. And i got a bit farther.. new boot animation shows up. But still blue led after it stops.
I FINALLY found the SolutioN!!! I used this https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634780916 and did the upgrades per ota. Then adb'd my twrp on my phone. And changed data to ext4. Rebooted. Activated usb debugging again. flashed twrp again(just to be sure), booted into twrp. Formatted system, data, cache, dalvik and then flashed my roms. SUCCESS <3

[Q] Bootloop, then worked, now stuck at boot

I'm desperate.
I've spent about 8 hours yesterday researching and fixing my phone which was stuck in a bootloop, I couldn't even get to TWRP.
In the end, what did it was the BLOD fix here in the forums. Flashed boot.img from stock 47Z, special TWRP from same thread and then from TWRP the EX kernel version 4.12 and then the latest OmniRom which I have used before. There it was again, working, even my 90 browser tabs were still there.
This is where I f***** up. My phone notified me at startup that I should flash vendor N2G47F (which is 7.1.2. - the latest OmniRom). Alright, phone is completely working, but still, couldn't hurt. Downloaded and flashed the wrong vendor (Factory Image 8.1.0) via TWRP because it was 3am and I didn't think anymore. And then... stuck at boot screen.
Alright, I discovered it was the wrong vendor image, so let's just flash the vendor again with the right version this time and it should work again, right?
Nope. Phone changed between bootloop-ing and just stuck on the Google loading screen with the open lock.
Okay, just start again from the beginning, you know what you did, so, easy. I thought.
This is what I did:
fastboot flash vendor vendorOPM7.1.2.-N2G47F.img
fastboot flash boot 47z…img [boot-img from BLOD-thread]
fastboot flash recovery twrp3_1_1_5X.img [also from BLOD-thread]
reboot-recovery
adb sideload 5xEX4…zip [also from BLOD-thread]
adb sideload omnirom_latest.zip [latest omnirom from official site]
reboot, should work because I fixed basically everything, right?
doesnt
remembered seeing boot.img getting flashed when sideloading omnirom (in the log that TWRP shows when sideloading)
flash boot.img again [from BLOD-thread]
still doesn't work.
cache was wiped either in twrp or fastboot after nearly every step.
I can't figure out anymore what the problem is. It worked before, and just because I flashed a false vendor it's not working at all anymore? I don't get it. Do you have any ideas for me? Many thanks in advance...

Problems getting rooted (touch not working)

Hey you!
So I am back using my Pixel 2 XL and I want to root it, but I am having a lot of trouble doing so... Things I have tried:
First time I just tried installing the zip from magisk, after that my phone was stuck in an endless boot loop, nothing to do there...
I have done as this guide says:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/how-to/guide-unlock-flash-root-pixel-2-xl-t3702418
So this is where I am right now:
Flashed the newest factory image "10.0.0 (QQ3A.200605.001, Jun 2020)" by running the "flash-all.bat", booted it up and everything was working.
Downloaded the newest twrp "twrp-3.3.0-0-taimen.img" and loaded it using fastboot.
Installed "twrp-pixel2-installer-taimen-3.3.0-0.zip" and rebooted into recovery.
Wiped userdata, installed AOSiP 10, rebooted into recovery and installed opengapps.
Booted up the rom and checked that everything was working.
Installed Magisk manager and copied over the boot.img file from the factory zip and did the "patch img" thing.
Rebooted into fastboot and did "fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img"
Now I can boot up the rom but... My touchscreen isnt working? power and volume buttons works just fine, twrp has the same problem after I install it with the zip (it works fine when booting it up from fastboot)
I tried installing the stock boot.img but that didnt change anything.
Another thing is that on slot B is the stock rom and on slot A is the AOSiP rom, is this normal? I don't know how the slot thingy works is it just like partitions?? The stock rom on slot B is working just fine.

Update:
I ran the "flash-all.bat" on both slots and booted up twrp using fastboot and installed the magisk zip (not the img) before installing the manager, I then installed the manager once I booted up the rom. So I guess it's stock with root for now...

When you are on stock and you flash a custom rom, the custom rom will be flashed to the opposite slot of the stock rom. So yes, it is normal to have stock rom on 1 slot and the custom rom on the other.
