Volume Down + Power Button works (Andriod default)..
Or you can add screenshot button to the quick tile pull down menu
Go into: Settings > ASUS customised settings > Quick Setting Options, from here you can add it to the pull down like I did..

When you say photos are you referring to sending MMS to people..?

correct, MMS is working but not sending photos

I have T-Mobile and don't have that issue. My wife also has a Zenfone 2 on T-Mobile and no issues here either. I'll post my APN settings if you need them but everything's working great so far. I wish we had volte support but I use my Nexus 6 as my DD do no big deal.

Have you tried a different sms app from the Play store?

Well I'm not sure if something is off in my settings but photos (MMS) will not send on WiFi but only on 4g. I found this out once I stepped out today I had a Bomb of photos come through on 4g but once back inside on WiFi it's a no go.

I don't use WiFi so that could be why. I'm away from my other apartment for the summer and I didn't feel like setting up an account with the cable company here for internet hence I use my phone as a hotspot and its always using LTE. That's odd, but j couldn't confirm it unless my wife uses her hotspot and I give it a go

no just stock messaging app. Getting another app from the store might work but I shouldn't have to do that for the phone to work.

Try Google messenger or works better than most other apps and its what I use in both of my phones and tablet.

Other than that, I have the exact same settings...
I AM using Hangouts however to handle SMS/MMS... maybe that's the difference?

Alright I just tried with G. Messenger with the same results. Its so weird

@scoop Sorry I Do have that MMC 310 I just missed it when scrolling I just edit my post

I have the same phone, same default settings, t-mobile and the same exact problem. With Wifi enabled MMS will not work. Once I disable Wifi it works.
No, I don't want to use Hangouts or a third party app either, that is not a solution. I should be able to use the default messaging app and MMS at home with Wifi enabled. Please help.

Yeah I know I feel the same way but glad to know I'm not alone on this. I thought I was doing something wrong and maybe I am.

Anything happen when you change apn protocol to ip4/ip6 instead of just ip4?

I had the same problem. Changing the protocol to ip4/ip6 didn't help, but changing the default messaging app to hangouts worked; can send/receive mms even with wifi on now. Haven't tested google messenger or other sms apps yet though.

Had this issue with my iphone before and I'm on tmobile as well.

This seems to focus on T-Mobile Wifi-calling (and texting). The Zenfone 2 is an unlocked phone that does not have wifi calling. I have tried setting both of the parameters to Ipv4/ipv6 and it still does not work.

WORKING Straight Talk MMS Settings for Ion

So the Ion, for some reason has been tricky to get the MMS settings correct. I was at my wits end, and about to get rid of my beloved Ion due to the inability to send and receive MMS. Here's the settings I use, set them EXACTLY, any deviation, they will NOT work, trust me, I tried!
Delete any previous Straight Talk APN settings.
Create new APN.

What was catching myself, and many others I've seen asking the same question, was the addition of the MMS APN. I as well as them, were setting it all as ONE single APN. TWO APN's ARE NEEDED!
Soon as I set them and checked the Straight Talk box, it started sending and receiving quickly! Pictures go both ways without any issues at all, and last night at work I ran speed tests and averaged roughly 5mbps.
This was exciting to me and hopefully it helped someone else out. Now you're free to enjoy $45/Mo unlimited everything on your sexy Ion!
Just tried this now. I was only able to send pictures when connected to wifi for some wierd reason. I just got the "queved for sending" message. Doesn't look like this has resolved it for me. let me try a power cycle. You have the default "straight talk" named apn the one with the green bubble next to it in your setting correct?
Thanks for the advice will let you no if get it working or not.
Yeah, when I made it the Straight Talk MMS setting didn't have a checkbox next to it. However after resetting phone and doing this again it does? Odd. I'll see if I can figure out
Try creating with wifi off? Set APN type as mms, not MMS. Worked for me. That's the only changes I made
Changing MMS to lowercase had it working for about ten minutes. Still having troubles.
Working fine for me still

Try these setting on my ion, still not working. Saw the 4G icon flashed for about 2sec and went away, 2 whole sec of hope. :/ Question, does the phone have to be unlock first? its still lock with ATT, getting my unlock code soon I hope. Thanks
Working perfect for me under 1 large apn without the data proxy too.

I spent many sleepless nights looking for proper APN settings on Straight Talk's B.Y.O.P. plan (AT&T) for my unlocked Sony Xperia Ion (LT28at) device, here are the ones I came up with by messing around with multiple references, that work flawlessly; I get a near perfect 4G signal nearly everywhere and can send and receive MMS messages very fast:
You need you create 2 APNs and select the one named "straight talk"; The APN titled "mms" will be unselectable if done correctly.
Delete any other APNs if possible.
These settings are CAPs sensitive and sorry for the spaces in the URLs, don't have permission for posting hyperlinks yet, so leave out the spaces.
When I created this APN setup I did it with the Wifi off and then restarted the phone, and after reboot, worked great with Wifi.

Awesome, almost bought a Nexus 4 myself, hope you're loving it! So glad to hear it worked for you, haha, spent like 30 minutes typing that up, haha. I doubt I could have done it without the creator of this thread, so shout out goes to joe3681 for figuring out you had to make separate APNs.
Hey everyone add the word hipri in

Now I get faster speeds on straigh talk. Went from 1mb to 5mb download with this simple change.
Info on new sim (sort of)
Just thought I would give an update for all of us still hanging on to the ION
I just got a new ST ATT type sim card. I just knew for certain that with the new sim card that the standard APN settings would work
I was disappointed to say the least, LOL
Still the only ones working for me are in my post on page one.

only settings that worked for me, thank you so much <3333
None of these working
None of the settings listed work for me. When I try to send a picture it says "queued for sending when service is available" and when someone sends me a picture I get "message not downloaded". 2 APN's do not work. I also do not get any 4G with these settings. At least with straight talk's settings I get 4G LTE but of course nothing works that way neither.
Any more settings I can try?
Not really sure I've had an ion for 2-3 yrs and in the beginning when I lived in Atlanta it worked. But now living in Indiana i can't get any (MMS) to work ? I have wonderful 4g though

Does anyone else have troubles with MMS? Mine will go in and out. Half the time it works, half the time it doesnt. This isn't really ROM dependent either, it seems. Having trouble receiving/sending group texts and pictures

I have the same issues on CM 10.1 nightly.
If it's not ROM-dependent, perhaps it's a network issue?
I certainly haven't noticed any problems up here in Canada...
I know this has been discussed in the past, but my phone won't dl group messages, or pictures without a lot of coaxing and after a few attempts at manual downloading.
Same goes for outbound mms.
Someone just point me in the right direction, haven't found the answer with search.

Your APN settings are just fine. If you are able to get it to work some of the time it honestly sounds like some kind of network issue to me. Try mms port 8080 as well now that I think about it. It can't hurt.

Try from APN screen press menu and select reset to default. Then try. If working great. If not now try to config the apn and try again.
You could also try doing two seperate apns. For first one enter all settings except MSC ,MMS proxy and port. Enter those in a separate APN and under APN type enter MMS. Save and reboot.

You won't need to put two ports. 8080 is the whole number. It's 4 digits instead of two, there is no comma. That's a more secure mms port anyway. It could work for you. This mostly sounds like network though.

I tried doing all of this to no avail. I ended up going back to CM 10 Stable and it works perfectly. All of my issues including HSPA not working are resolved by downgrading.

[Q] PLZ help tmobile s3 on straightalk (t-mobile sim)

Good day!!! well this problem has been driving me crazy for the past 6-7 hours. i bought an unlocked tmobile s3 and i'm trying to get data(4g) on this phone with straight talk. calling and texting work fine but data is a no go.
I have litterally tried over 10 diferent apn combinations found online, provided by stratight talk rep and this website and none have worked. with most of them i get the small 4g label to light up next to my signal strenghth implying that my phone is connected to data, but when ever i try looking for somenthing with the browser or the playstore it says i have no internet connection or it redirects me to a website
here are some of the apn combinations i've tried:
NAME:STRAIGHT_TALK
APN:wap.tracfone
PORT:8080
MMS_APN:wap.tracfone
MMSC: ttp://mms.tracfone.com (H at the beggining)
NAME:STRAIGHT TALK
APN:wap.tracfone
PORT:8080
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.40
MMSC: blank
NAME:STRAIGHT TALK
APN:wap.tracfone
Proxy: 216.155.165.40
PORT:8080
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.40
MMSC: blank
I'm starting to think that the permanent APN settings for tmobile, which i can't remove, are maybe causing conflict with straightalk's apn settings despite the fact my phone stays on straightalk apn settings.
please someone help me, i'm about to smash the phone and move on.
Try:
Name: StraightTalk T-Mobile
APN: wap.tracfone
Port: 8080
MMSC: http://mms.tracfone.com
MCC: 310

you do this by making sure the green dot, the straightalk apn is selected correct? if so it is and still not working.
I assume you are able to make and receive calls just fine. Silly question but I assume, your Straight Talk account is all set for data and what not ?
EDIT - What baseband do you have right now ?

Have you confirmed with Straight talk that your account is configured correctly for data and the sim is a newer sim ? Also try the sim in some other phone to see if you get data there.

[Q] APN (T-Mobile US LTE)

a couple of questions:
1. thought i would take a look around in the "edit access point" settings but when i i tried to back out of it i got the the message "the name field cannot be empty" and the prompt "exit / ok". if i select "ok" it keeps me on the screen, if i select "exit" it i'm taken to the previous screen. why am i getting the "name field..." message? did i accidentally make a chance? or is the "name field..." message normal even if no changes are made?
2. thinking that i must have made a change, i t decided to use the "reset to default" apn menu option. well this ended up deleting the "T-Mobile US LTE" apn that was listed before i hit reset - it was listed along with one other apn, "T-Mobile US". but after taking a look at the "T-Mobile US" apn settings, they appear to be identical to the "T-Mobile US LTE" apn settings. so do i need to add back the lte apn? do all t-mobile s4 phones typically have both apn's? and finally, did i mess up the modem i flashed by hitting "reset to default"?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
I believe, you could manually add the APNs back, or you could just reflash whatever rom you were running. Messing about with unknown things is the number one reason it's always a good idea to have a backup handy.
I'm a little confused on what happened, but I would just add in the APN manually. This is the one I always use when putting it in. I don't think you need the non-LTE APN, as the list seems to show only one being used on my phone (I have a Verizon APN on my phone too because of the ROM I'm using). Modem should be fine I think.

search the forums or google the apn for the phone. i have it written down since you have to manually add them if you flash hyperdrive rom. its better to have them incase of anything

ha ha i've become an apn expert in the last couple of days in terms of editing and/or manually adding them thinking that i might have a problem! but as it turned out i didn't have an apn problem after all, if you choose "add (+) " apn and then back out you will get the message i mentioned "the name field cannot be empty"... instead of backing out you have to select menu then "discard" which will take you back to the previous screen without an error.
but since you have been kind enough to respond, maybe you can help me with something else, i've started a thread but haven't received a response yet. are you able to send mms messages with wi-fi calling enabled? i'm not, i have to disable it if i want to send mms messages. the reason is wifi calling turns off the data network. i can send texts, but i can't send them to email addresses nor can i attach photos or videos - mms has to be sent over the data network. this is a problem for me because i live in an area with poor coverage, i need the wi-fi calling to make calls, and when i turn it off and try to send mms it's far too slow because of my signal strength. is there a mod, hack or workaround that would allow me to send mms over wi-fi rather than mobile data? what would be great is a web-based mms solution which would handle mms on the web, bypassing my phones limitations. here's my post:

apn issues

Flashed pie to my Verizon note 8 that is unlocked, switched over to straight talk, but my MMS wont work. When I went to apn settings, it came up with a bunch of Verizon settings, no straight talk settings, even told them to reset the apn settings on the phone for me, still didn't work. Now if I reset network settings it deletes the straight talk settings and back to stock settings with only Verizon settings.....I'm tired of not being able to send pic messages
same problem here
