[Q] Zenfone 2 glass matte finish screen protector? - ZenFone 2 Accessories

I've usually only seen these for "premium" devices + the iPhones. Any sighting of matte/anti glare tempered glass screen protectors for this new little beast?

I've never heard one matte TGSP before and I've owned many "premium" devices. I don't use icrap however if the nattw ones exist that's news to me after owning 15 android phones and tablets. In using the standard Nilkin glass one now and yes great but not matte

Have you ever used any matte screen protectors, even the cheap ones? I really would prefer a matte protector to a smooth one, but I also want to use high quality, long lasting products.

I've used cheap ones before but they usually reduce the clarity in my experience.

Why would you want a matte TGSP?

I prefer the matte finish to a slick one, and I prefer a tempered glass screen protector because they're higher quality and generally last longer than the ones that are either cheap plastic or some sort of non-rigid film.

That's fair enough, I've never seen a matte one myself, I only use the clear TGSP

Nillkin makes nice ones, I have them on both of my Zenfone and they fit/seal perfectly.

Could you comment on if they're actually matte or if they're just a smooth finish with some sort of anti-glare stuff going on? I want a true matte finish on mine. If they are, would you be willing to link me to where you got them? Nillkin sells an anti-glare crystal version and an anti-glare matte version, but the product descriptions are so similar that I can't really tell what I'm buying.

It's not an anti glare model, its just a standard TGSP but the fit & finish are great. I bought it off amazon and I can get the link if you want. Also like any TGSP (tempered glass screen protector) it has a anti glare quality but nothing like a matter one. I always found matte screen protected distort the display

Have you find one? I used matte screen protector (not TGSP) in my phones and I also prefer matte or antiglare...

I never did find one, unfortunately. I ended up getting the Nillkin matte finish one. I tried to do that over my glass one, but the fit didn't work. Just the matte one has been fine for me so far.

Do you like it? I'm looking at Nillkin H+, it says it's antiglare...

Yeah it works great. That's what I got. I haven't had any issues with it lifting off or anything so far.

For me are the best:

... I have them on all my devices since many years (tablets, phones, slrs)

Glass screen protectors do tend to cost a lot more than regular screen protectors. I have never used a Cruzerlite screen protector but their cases do have good reviews, Hopefully this screen protector is good as well.

hmm that's cheaper than the spigen and some others. i may order that and give the rhino sheild that's yet to arrive to my brother, being he's destroyed several phone screens.
#1 reason I don't use glass protectors is because they're hard and trapped dust can't be removed easily. This might actually make me switch to glass in the future. Too bad I already purchased a 6-pack of matte SP's for my N5 which will last me till I dispose of the phone.

I get it but glass make the phone feel so nice
Im hoping someone does a video comparison of the tru glass versus the spigen nano slim. The spigen is 0.23 mm and the truglass is 0.25mm. However I do not believe the spigen protector is flexible like the truglass. I'm sure that helps make it shatterproof if it truly is glass. Because it is soo flexible it makes me think its plastic and not glass. They do have flexible glass screens on phones nowadays but it is technology that is just hitting the market so I would suspect if this were truly glass and this flexible it would cost more than the spigen but it is cheaper !!
The rounded spigen nano is still not out yet so there is still some time for people to get this one and test it out.....cant wait to see the results. One more major thing I'm hoping to get with either one of these glass screen protectors is true smudge proof/oil resistance. That is the most important feature to me...so which ever one is more oleophobic is the one I want.

By that logic, the gorilla glass screens used on all phones and tablets costs $20+ to make? That's more than the cost of the processors in our devices.

oh my bad I haven't used a screen protector in about 5 years. But 2 weeks into having my HTC One I got 2 huge scratches in the center of the screen. I hate screen protectors, because I love the natural feel of my screen. but when I get my Nexus 5 I'm definitely getting a glass screen protector. I presume these screen protectors work well with their cases.

It moved a little bit and had some flex to it. It definitely is a rigid piece of glass though. I think it flexes more because of the thinness of the glass piece.

OK guys so I placed this Tru Glass protector and it is awesome, I had a SPIGEN Glass TR on my phone before I put this one (glass tr is the one that has the issues), its super slim just like the Glass Nano TR, it feels great to the touch feels just like the naked screen.
It was easy to put on no bubbles or anything like that.
So I really recommend this protector its awesome, its cheaper than the SPIGEN protectors and in my own opinion its as high quality as the SPIGEN brand.

Good screen protectors? Matte, Clear and Tempered glass

There are a ton of screen protectors for the nexus 5, many range from 0.01 cents to $30, but not all of them are good. I want to know what are the best, and this thread will help a lot with the same problem. Requirements are obviously to be crystal clear. Other requirements are. / are used for "or".
-Perfect cutouts/ Screen doesn't affect sensors or camera quality.
- Screen quality/color is not affected. No rainbow effect.
-Provides protection against scratches and dust.
-Doesn't attract fingerprints/wipes off easily.
-Identical texture to screen/ feels nice
Personally I'm looking for a screen protector that is Matte, feels nice, doesn't affect screen itself, provides protection and is clear.

Having used 10-20 different types of screen protectors on several devices, I'd agree on this. However, once the oleophobic coating rubs off, it's just another yucky fingerprint magnet.
I love the anti glare/fingerprint properties of matte screen protectors but unfortunately these reduce screen clarity. It ruins the beautiful display for me.
Haven't quite found something somewhat in between yet. The antiglare apple screen protectors for the iPhone 5s seem to be pretty good though...maintains the screen clarity pretty well.
The search for the perfect screen protector continues!
Personally, I'm a fan of Tech Armor's anti-glare/fingerprint screen protectors. I have one on my N7 2012, and it's fantastic. It does cut down on the clarity somewhat, but after a little while, you get used to it; and besides, it's nothing too drastic. Realistically, you're just not going to get the kind of anti-glare/fingerprint protection you want from anything even slightly "clear," at least not for some time.
I'd compare the feeling of them to a Kindle reader's screen. They're tough as nails, too. The first one on my N7 protected it from one or two gouges that would have surely cracked the screen, leaving deep indentations in the protector, but nary a scuff on the glass itself. The marks on the protector didn't even affect feel or usability that much.
I've already purchased a pack of 3 for my soon-to-be Red N5. It'll run you about $6 USD on Amazon. Lifetime warranty, as with most of the screen protectors from reputable companies. I'd link, but I can't. Sorry. :silly:
There are several tempered glass protectors for less than £10 on Amazon now

A perfect screen protector is made of sapphire and has a hardness scale of 10H we dont have that yet
Tempered glass runs for about 8$ on eBay and Amazon its the best bang for your buck.
Its better to see and feel glass rather than putting some cheap peace of thin plastic on it.
And besides glass is harder and thicker than thin plastic for example Sand in Hawaii very though my friend has a Zagg invisible shield it was a windy day on the beach and her phone fell in the sand it was enough to make a hole in the plastic protector and make a small scratch mark on the screen.
Overall glass is better since its harder and ticker for objects such as rocks and or sand to get through it
Matte..
tempered glass
Lol those above replies really aren't helpful. It all depends on what you're willing to sacrifice. I.e smudges/clarity etc. And what you're wanting the protector for because at the end of the day, the naked glass is smooth and strong. I prefer less fingerprints so lean more towards matte.

I agree, and while initial impressions on a screen protector are great, I think the most valuable information are from people who been using them for several weeks or month. Spending $40 on a tempered glass screen protector will feel amazing at first but if it lasts two weeks before chipping or causing bubbles then it's not a worthwhile investment.
I've always used SGP screen protectors, they're the best out of all the others I've tried. I wouldn't recommend any matte protector also, they kill the clarity of the screen. Glass protectors would probably give the best feeling but I don't think I'd like the extra thickness.

Been using nilkin tempered glass since Christmas and it's flawless. Has one tiny web at the bottom but it was my fault during installation. No bubbles, chips, peeling or anything. $15 on Amazon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I'm a Nilkin glass convert and wouldn't go with anything significantly different. The glass feels great, is "clear as glass," holds up very well, and, at $11 or so delivered, is cheap.
Matte is, in my opinion, just marketing cover for poor optical characteristics of the material. Why would you pay for a high-resolution screen, then effectively smear it with Vaseline?

It all depends on what one is after though. A cheap matte screen protector can be nasty yes. However, some are pretty decent these days. You will be sacrificing some screen clarity but you won't have a grubby looking phone with grease/fingerprints/smudges all over your screen. It's all about what one is after...pros and cons to everything. No offence to the posters that just post things like "Nilkin Glass" but I really think you should give the pros and cons as this is beneficial for readers. Simply stating a product does not help anyone really. I never understand why people buy chunky cases for their new phones but obviously they are willing to sacrifice the weight/look for the protection they get. Everyone is unique Hence we have communities like this where people can share and help. My 3 cents.

Even though it has Gorilla glass 5 It needs to protect from scratches. If you think Screen protectors are unnecessary then why smartphones have pre-installed screen protector.
I've been using the 2.5D Curved Tempered Glass from GlazedInc. The price is Rs.450 and I have done a detailed review about it on the channel. Two major things I liked about this glass
1) Actual Curved Edges unlike the typical glasses which have flat edges
2)Black borders don't intrude into the display like other glasses

No. My point is these new displays are good against sratches. If you are concern only about scratches you don't need a screen protector. But for the drops it's a different story.
My recommendation is hydrogel screen savers, for this model would buy both front and rear. Perfectly Fit to the edge 2.5 D, the only drawback I see is that the footprints are more easily fixed, but you pass one or two times a day a micro-fiber cloth and ready. I'Ve Been wearing one in a REDMI Note 4 for a year and it's almost as new.

Gadgetshieldz screen protectors are recommendable screen protectors for any device. I'm using it on my current note 7 and I've used it on my previous devices too for Six months. No issues was found and peel off effect. And it has the capability to heal itself.
The "ANEWSIR redmi note 7 screen protector" works really really well (very premium and I like the additional safety with it). A bit more expensive than your average type but I think it's worth it.
In addition I would use the "MOFI" cases. They have an awesome though, sleek design and are very protective as well.
Hope that helps, cheers!

Do you guys know where to buy a tempered glass for the back part?
bro it's not what I asked and it's really looks like you're spamming this website... no advertising please
I'm using the Ferilsno (think that's how your spell it) 2.5 D full screen tempered glass on the front.
Got my RN7 3 days ago and this screen cover thru Amazon. Put it on soon as I took it out the box to avoid any problems!
Comes in a 2 pack for 7.99.
Highly recommend this brand or one of the full screen type 2.5D tempered glass screen covers. Sensitivity and clarity are top notch. Almost like it's not there at all.
Between this and the free clear TPU case that was in my box, I'm happy to say my phone's fully projected and feels great!

Oneplus 7 Screen Protectors?

Are the Oneplus 6T screen protectors compatible with the Oneplus 7? I mean is there any change in screen display size and shape, the screen bezels? The thing is there aren't any good options yet for the Oneplus 7 yet. So if the screens are the same, guess I can use 6T screen protectors with Oneplus 7. Which ones are you using for your Oneplus 7?
They should be the same. I ordered a tempered screen protector and the description said that it fits both 6T and 7.

Too much of a gap at the bottom . Works ok otherwise.

Hello,
Agree with you, miss at least 2 millimeters on the edges! (i am French !)
This is what I have on my screen currently.
It's as full as you can get it but you have to add some sort of liquid around the edges once applied and then the next day it looks fine.

Whitestone Dome makes a full-screen liquid adhesive tempered glass screen protector for the Oneplus 7 Pro. It's pretty sweet.
I personally think their screen protectors work great. They are a bit pricey, but so are the other big-name brands... At least they give you a limited lifetime warranty so you can replace it multiple times if you drop it and it cracks.
It is even 20% off right now for another day or two.

Guys what is the best screen glass for OP7?
I ordered a SUPTMAX screen protector from Amazon. It said it was for the one plus 7 but it doesn't have full glass coverage. But something is better then nothing.
SUPTMAX OnePlus 7 Screen Protector
I'm using OnePlus 7 official 3D Tempered Glass.
In my opinion this is fantastic! ?
Protects your all screen, very smooth and touch responsive as well as case friendly.
It's little bit costly but worth to have it. ✌?
I think it is worth to check 6T glass as they should fit model 7 as well.
The official one is too expensive 20€..
For 14€ you have Orzly Twin pack for 6T.
Are you able to put a case on it and not interfere with each other? I'm thinking of getting the supersheids Tempered Glass protector. It looks like the official one. Probably my best option in the US.

I'm using OnePlus 7 Nylon Bumper Case with this tempered glass and facing no problem with it!
Does the protector cover little bit of side screen as claimed by many?

Nope! Cover as same as OnePlus 7 comes with pre applied plastic flim!
Complete edge to edge protection!
I put Orzly for OP7 and I'm super happy about the quality, edges etc
Are you guys taking off the factory screen protector? I switched out to a SuperSheildz and it is definitely not as responsive as the other one. It's almost like there is a thin layer of air.
I'm using this Omoton one https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KCWKZ3W/
Very easy to install due to the frame it comes with, plus a spare if you **** up. It's no expensive whitestone dome that everyone goes gaga over, and as reviewers mention there's a prism effect on the edges, but it's many leagues better than the factory fitted plastic thing. Fingerprint seems fine as well after re-registering, I've had a couple of misses but had one or two before.

Matte Screen Guard

I'm using Oneplus 7T about an year and I'm still searching for matte scratch guard or tempered glass on online but still I couldn't find good reviewed product available. I have used matte tempered glass which bought in local shops but they are blue coated. If anyone using Matte Tempered or Scratch guards. Kindly let me know

Try this... Works well with stock case that come in the box or any other OnePlus case, but is not compatible with any spigen case.
The product otherwise is really good and comes with a back skin too.
