Permanent Safe mode on Xperia s - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hi. My sony xperia S is stuck in a permanent Safe mode. Tryed to install different ROMS, pressing different buttons during the start of the device, taking off the battery and etc.
It appears that the phone goes in that mode because of a malfunction in the VOLUME down button (it doesnt work). I dont want to repair it, dont have the money and i use this phone for trying different ROMS.
So here's the question . Is there a way to DISABLE safe mode? It doesnt bother me that the volume down button doesnt work, i want my phone to be ok for daily use.
Thanks for your attention.

I have an idea bro!
From wich I understand if your problem is caused by broken volume key(assume that its keep pressing during boot and force the device in safe mode) maybe you should try to disable it
If you already have root access you may try to browse to /system/usr/keylayout
There are some files with .kl format that map the device keys
In my phone (X Z1) the volume key info is in the Generic.kl
Key 114 and 115

If you put a # before the volume up/down line it will be actually disable the volume key function
Dont know if this gonna help you or not,but you may just want to give it a shot

Defy Buttons Problem

Hello everyone.
I have a really wierd problem with defy's buttons (menu, home, back, search). They stoped working at all.
So for a couple months I have been having strange problems with the buttons. It looked like home button was pushed and app drawer was opening/closing really fast. Reset has helped, but temporary.
And about a week ago the buttons stoped working at all. I tried to flash another ROM (official 2.2), but it didn't help.
And now I don't know what to do. I goggled it, but there is no information about such problem.
If somebody can give an advice, please let me know.
Thanks.
Nobody ? That's sad. XDA was my last hope) Well, I guess I will sell it for parts.
try doing an sbf. if that doesn't work, then there is hardware issue.
edit: dont know if you already did..since you said you flashed an official 2.2 rom..
Don't know if this will work but it won't hurt to try

Download the files and android commander search it up. It's easier than manually using adb commands.
Connect your phone to pc and make sure usb debugging is on
In android commander navigate to system/usr/layout
Then click on push on the toolbar in android commander
Select the files you downloaded then right click on each file that you just added then click on properties
make sure each one looks like this

Maybe this will fix your buttons?
from http://android.site666.info/indextricks.htm :
home key, search button, security lock, power button options: repair them
Some phones do strange things at random: your home and search buttons stop working, your security lock won't load (leaving your data wide open), and if you hit the power button then reboot is your only option, because silent mode and flight mode are missing from the list.
There's nothing wrong with the buttons on your phone, but there's something wrong with the software that controls them.
• Fix: backup your apps and data, reset your phone to factory settings, restore your backups.
Make sure you have a full backup or two and check that the backups work before resetting your phone.

[GUIDE] Boot Galaxy Y in Safe Mode

There are times your Galaxy Y may start causing you problems such as hangs at certain points, apps force-closing, not allowing you to move forward and so on after installing a faulty app.
If you didn't know, Android can also be booted into Safe Mode just like how you boot your Windows PC and the main point of it is of course for troubleshooting issues. Thanks to Safe Mode, you will be able to uninstall unresponsive apps and fix your phone.
Procedure:
First Turn off your phone
Start the phone normally
You will see the Galaxy y logo
Just after it disappears...hold the menu key
Dont let it go until you feel a small vibration followed by a slightly bigger vibration
You have successfully entered Safe Mode

Unlock bootloader without volume keys?

Hey everyone,
I've got a Desire HD and I was unlocking the bootloader via the HTC Dev method but i ran into a problem - I can't finish the final step because my phone's volume buttons are broken. Is there any way to circumvent this or does this simply mean I can't do it. My WiFi and Bluetooth don't work either and the rear speaker just stopped working 2 days ago.
What is the final step?

go to settings apps development tick usb debugginh
open cmd and cd to adb then type
adb reboot bootloader
then press power button
wait for it... it should say hboot usb plug
press it again and the red bit should say fastbootusb (i know it says it first time, but do this anyway)
then continue
the final step is to flash unlocktoken.bin
then in the phone you have to press yes(i don´t remenber if it´s the default option) if not, then you can´t go away with broken volume buttons. you need to select yes whit vol+ and then press power

Yeah, that's what I meant. I can get into the bootloader with "adb reboot bootloader" and fastboot is the default option so no volume key required there. Its the screen in the image where I have to confirm the unlock. It's not the volume rocker as the buttons are unresponsive even when i use something else to press them. So there's really no other way? Can I possibly downgrade low enough to use an older exploit?
Maybe you can downgrade the main version using fastboot mode and then flash an older ruu, but i'm not sure if it's possible or not

Hard Bricked - can't get into download mode

I have a very serious problem. I've managed to brick my device. I decided I wanted to install CM 10.2 on my E988 (Taiwan version) but it didn't work. I rooted, installed freegee and also had cwm. I put the files on my sd card and then formated data, cache and dalvik cache. When I tried to install from sd card it said can't partition non-vfat. So i decided then that I would push the files using adb to my devices internal storage. I managed to do this but when I did it said installation aborted. It didn't have anything else in the log. At the moment I can access cwm but I can't seem to do anything with it. I can also charge my device but the charging image is missing.
When I try to access download mode it comes up with the factory hard reset screen which does nothing.I am at the moment downloading the stock image kdz file but I don't think I'll be able to do anything with it.
When I boot up my phone it still says that freegee is installed.
I got the CM rom from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439827
On that thread it says that you need to remove the first four lines of text in the updater-script file. However, in notepad, it depends on how big your window is to how much four lines of text is. Further into the thread, a user asked how much was actually meant to be removed and someone replied with all the way up to 'mount'.

False alarm

Try, Remove battery and put again your device, hold Volume "-" and Home button and Power button, after display confirm put power button 3 time.
It's OK. It turns out that to get into download mode you don't have to press the power and volume buttons, you just have to press both the volume buttons and then plug in the USB

How to enter Recovery mode, with Verizon?

Can someone help me get into recovery mode on my Verizon G4? I want to clear the cache.
I have read to turn it off, then press & hold Power and Volume Down, until the LG logo appears. Then release only Power, then press & hold Power again, until the recovery screen appears. And I'd swear I'd gotten in this way on a previous Verizon G4.
But I can't get it to work on this phone. Either on software 610B, or having just upgraded to 611A. It either just boots up normally, or if I keep holding Power, it seems to just reboot again.
What am I doing wrong? Sorry for the basic question, but I've tried it a bunch of times, with no success.

It's probably the same as the g3. I would just hold volume down and power until the stock recovery popped up. Not letting off at all.
That did it, thank you! That was easy. And this was different than what I had read elsewhere.

I originally read the way you described first for my g3. So you can only go with the info given. I just happen to figure out just holding them works best. If you have root access just get quick boot from the play store. Makes it easy to get into custom recovery.

Easiest way is to go to: Settings>Storage>Click on "Cached data">YES.
