[Q] Converting Unlocked M9 to other RUU - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the carrier unlocked m9 straight from HTC. I was wondering if you could flash something like the dev edition RUU or say the T-Mobile RUU on it with out any failure? If so what would be the pros and cons of each one? I have been led to understand that the only difference between the Dev and the Unlocked is that the bootloader is unlocked which is no big deal bc I'm unlocked and s-off.
The only reason I would be interested in flashing the T-mobile RUU is for the wifi calling and texting capabilities.
(I am aware that you can change both the CID and the MID through fastboot.)

Sim Unlocked -Can CID be changed

I was prevoiusly using unbranded DHD and boy was life easier with root, s-off etc
Now on One-X im on branded T-mob, I have obtainded the sim unlock code so am now partly free but still t-mob005 cid.
My question is can the cid be modified now im sim unlocked or am i stuck on ICS until t-mob release JB?

No, CID can't be changed without S-Off, and we don't have S-Off.
SIM Unlock and S-Off are completely separate.
I know sim unlock and s off are different, just thought there may of been a hack to modify cid.
Cheers anyway

Confused by RUU's

I need to unroot my unlocked, S-Off HTC Desire before I sell it as the retailer won't accept it if it's rooted.
How do I know which RUU I need? (It's a GSM model from the UK and I think it was originally on TMobile UK before I had it unlocked). Obviously I want to keep it unlocked.
Use the 2.3 RUU.

HTC M8 - Unlocked version

I was thinking of getting the developer edition, however it doesn't have the silver version. So I am wondering if S-off and unlocked bootloader has been achieved for this device? Also, is this fully both AT&T and T-Mobile Compatible?

TL;DR, You can either get the unlocked variant and get the color you really want at the expense of your factory warranty,
Or get the dev edition and maintain the HTC warranty at the expense of having a color you don't like.
Yes, S-OFF has been achieved for most (if not all already) variants of the M8, the Developer edition and unlocked edition both included. The benefit to the developer edition is that the bootloader is unlocked from the factory, and you retain your warranty. If you buy the unlocked version and unlock the bootloader, your warranty is then void from HTC.

Converting AT&T M8 to T-Mobile M8

Hi All!
Just returning to the world of flashing after being with Verizon for so long. I have recently switched to T-Mobile, and have been using my unlocked AT&T. Other than S-Off and an unlocked bootloader I haven't looked too much into flashing yet.
I have been reading the forums and it seems as though the GSM version of the HTC M8 are relatively interchangeable. This got me thinking, I am able to make the necessary changes to CID & MID to match the T-Mobile version, and then convert using a T-Mobile RUU?
Thanks!

Thank you! Just wanted to confirm - that is the exact thread I reviewed.
Just do supercid and use tmo ruu.
Wait... so I just need to switch the CID to the "supercid" and I don't worry about the MID and just flash the Tmo RUU?
(it's been a LONG time since I've been on a HTC device...)

Revert unlocked HTC 10 that was converted to a Verizon HTC 10 back to US unlocked?

I got a red HTC 10 back when they first came out and, being on Verizon, knew I'd have to chance CID and all that to Verizon and flash a Verizon RUU in order to get it work. It all worked just fine and I haven't had any issues since following this guide - https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-10/how-to/guide-convert-unlocked-to-verizon-t3380615. Currently my 10 is running a custom ROM with Verizon settings, is S-Off and has the bootloader unlocked.
Now, I'm considering selling this device, but need to return it to the US unlocked firmware, radios, etc. before I do (I am planning on keeping S-off and bootloader unlocked for selling it). I assume all I need to do is follow the steps that got me there in reverse, essentially. But I have a few questions before I attempt this:
1) I'm not sure which CID I should use?
2) After changing the CID back, do I just flash the US unlocked RUU and I'm good to go?
Thanks.
1) CID: BS_US001 or BS_US002
2) correct
You might want to consider selling it as is. I sold a red unlocked converted to Verizon on eBay and it sold pretty quickly. This was last month.
