Hello, I have a gt-n7100 which I bought in china and I am looking in to flashing the firmware into the UK version as this chinese version has bloatware and i cant access google play or install many apps even if i get them from other markets. The guys here are all a great help but im stuck on one bit of info.
As I have read the threads, I see that the chinese note 2 cannot be flashed with other firmware using*Odin*PC, because it has a different bootloader ..(is my understanding correct?) So the solution would be to root it and use*Odin*Mobile*instead. But i cant get*mobile*odin*pro because i can never access the google play because it is blocked by this firmware. (ZCALJ6) So I have to use*mobile*odin*LITE, which the tutorial says I have to manually download and install seperate files such as flash kernels. Thats fine, I located the files needed but i dont know when to install it and run it ? Before I install*odin*or after? or after I have flashed the new firmware or before? And when I install it what should i do next?....because i couldnt find where it says anything about that process, just goes on to explain that*mobile*odin*PRO does it all for you automatically and picks it up from there.
Seriously in need of help, this chinese firmware does to note 2 what kryptonite does to superman.

The box says CN, but phone came in sealed box with WW_2.13.40.13.
I see WW update on 27-APR and CN update 20-APR. Is it safe to use latest WW update? I only ask because current version says WW.
Why not just release WW version to all areas and save everyone a big headache. Besides the point. What's your advice?

The OTA is not offering me any update when checking. Doesn't say anything when I check. Checks for a minute, then just returns to the main update screen.
According to build it says build LRX21V.WW-ASUS_Z00A-2.13.40.13_20150401_8390_user.........
So strange they caution against using CN version with WW version and vice versa, but they gave me a CN phone with WW flashed. :| WTF? Just don't want to F the phone up.

My box said TW but phone came with WW firmware. I updated as recommended and have the new WW firmware and 100gb of free Google Drive storage.
You updated via OTA Twotems?
Installation aborted. Getting error:
Device image SKU: CN
OTA image SKU: WW
So this makes some sense, other than that current firmware says "WW".
There is newer CN ROM available according to Asus site, but OTA not offering it up. Suppose next step is to just use the latest CN software from the site.

This difference is because of Recovery is of CN and Rom of WW. Boot into Recovery, I am sure it will be CN.
You need to flash Recovery image of WW.

Now that I've updated to latest CN version (because couldn't update to WW version), I have no Play and can't go back to WW because of the build.prop Sku is CN error. :|

Sorry, maybe a mod can combine these two threads.
The error says specifically it's a build.prop issue, you think flashing WW recovery will fix that, and where to get it and how to flash it only?

Are you able to get 3G in your home country? The Asus site isn't clear, it says 850/900/1900/2100 and 1900-2100 TD-SCDMA (China/India). Not sure if that means CN/IN version has only TD-SCDMA, or it has TD-SCDMA in addition to 850/900/1900/2100. What baseband are you on?
EDIT, NM: I've confirmed 3G/H+ working on 2100.

I'd also appreciate a link to how this is done, as I'm stuck on a CN ROM, but would prefer a WW version, a couple of links I've found point towards flashing boot images, but the links were dead.

I found this thread, and followed the instructions, and now my CN phone is running the WW firmware with all the google apps that were missing from the phone when I got it!

The biggest problem was getting my phone to be seen under fastboot commands, but I eventually seemed to fix tha by navigating to the folder where fastboot.exe was, and putting all the relevant files in there as well, then it seemed to work OK.
Finaly i use this solution and now my phone is on WW firmware.

Please give how to for beginner. I also have 2.13.40.13 ww but am sure flashed from Cn sku. Messaging is so buggy, won't receive text at times, and keeps reading/writing contacts and sms/mms

in the past i tried to change my zenfone 2 rom, so i rooted it and i also had to update its firmware,
i tried to update it through asos website but i guess i made a mistake somewhere along the way and now i have what appears to be the Chinese firmware version. and alost the phone isn't rooted anymore.
i can't get online if i dont have wifi and i dont have google apps. very frustrating.
i want to try to change the firmware back to ww (worldwide?).
will this solve my internet and google apps problem?
how do i do this?
my current firmware version is: LRX21V.CN-Asus_Z00A-2.20.40.185_20160504_5537_user.....

I was thinking of purchasing this device...I will be shifting from Asus Zenfone 2 but before buying this device i was researching a bit... I am actually new to Moto family...so can you clear some of my queries?
1) If we root our device by latest current method is it possible to receive OTA.. In Asus zenfone 2,we had 2 root methods...If we rooted by 1 method we could update via OTA and if rooted by the 2nd method we couldnt update our device via OTA.... Can we apply the OTA if we root our device or we have to un-root and undo all the modifications & stuff done after rooting?
2) And if by any chance i end up bricking my new Moto Z Play after trying to root it...How will be able to un-brick my device and revert it to stock.... I am also indian & will be buying the indian version so...I will need these 2 files but which one is the latest stock rom & how will i flash these roms in case i mess up? Can u tell me the command for flashing the rom via adb...

Hello, I still haven't seen a method to root the phone and still receive OTAs.
About bricking your phone and revert it to stock, if you don't mess up too much and keep you bootloader you can revert it. I reverted my Brazilian phone to stock after being stuck on the bootloader screen with no issues but I've seen people here that lost their IMEIs after flashing the stock firmware. Be sure to flash the right firmware for your region.

If you have already unlocked the bootloader, skip that part and do the rest of the steps for TWRP.
Regarding ROM installation, different ROM has different installation process (treble/non treble, with or without GApps). So chose one then read the installation process given on that ROM discussion thread !!

You are suppose to put the ROM ZIP file in Main directory of Internal storage.

Sorry but unable to understand your requirements.
1.9.077 is not an update, it's very old marshmallow ROM. The original stock ZUI. Usually people use it when going back to stock ROM. So installing 1.9 ZUI isn't upgrading.
What is your present ROM version. Please share that detail.

I think that ROM you have used may have some problem.
Secondly, download 2.5.104 ST from that link. Update (by QFIL or via stock recovery) your phone to Indian Stock ROM.
Try calling now.

Download 2.5.104 ST.
Search Google, there in an YouTube video showing how to change language of 1.9 ROM.
Get 2.5 Indian installed via QFIL method to test your phone. If that freezing problem exists or not.

This is about how to install 3.5 ROM in Z2 Plus via QPST / QFIL method.
You need to follow the same for 1.9 ROM (QPST installation method). Then again repeat the steps to install Indian 2.5 ROM.
Warning, this will relock the bootloader, restore stock recovery. Your phone will become like factory given setup.
Test the function of the phone, if all features working or not. Freezing problem happening or not.
If all ok, then follow this guide to unlock bootloader + install TWRP recovery to proceed to install custom ROM.

Note :- you can use the same unlock bootloader image file for your phone that you user previously for unlocking.
