[q] new evo update wont let me root

hey guys i am really lost and i am trying to figure out wat to do but here is my problem i am trying to root one of my friends evo and he did the latest evo update and for some reason i cant root with unrevoked and my sdk revisions is taking forever to update is there quick and painles way to do it or no one cick roots yet??
Unrevoked hasn't worked since Froyo, at least 6 months ago. You used to be able to use Revolutionary to root gingerbread, but since the latest update the only way to root it is to use the HTCDEV unlock method.

Theres no one click app that works yet,but you can try revolutionary root...
1: Download and install HTC drivers HTC drivers
2: Download the rooting tool/program revolutionary . You will need to enter in your Evo's serial number (under the battery) and be sure to save the beta key. You'll need it later, you will also need to copy and paste, sometimes it won't take if you type it in.
3: Enable USB debugging (settings>applications>development>turn on USB debugging) and connect the evo to your PC as charge only
4: Un-zip the S-OFF tool and run the program, making sure to install the custom recovery when prompted. (unless you already know what you're doing and want to put Amon_Ra or TWRP recovery on there)
5: Download SuperUser and boot into recovery. To enter recovery: power off completely, yes battery pull while off too be sure, then hold volume down+power and from there go to recovery and confirm.
6: install superuser from recovery (you must put the Superuser zip on the SD card first, before booting into recovery. Or mount your SD card while in recovery to take it too your Evo. OR, download it too your phone before booting into recovery )
YOU ARE NOW ROOTED.
7: (optional but highly recommended) Make a nandroid backup via recovery and then put it on the PC just to be sure nothing will happen too it.
Now you said your friend installed the new update, there has been an issue with rooting after the new update, because the bootloader was updated and locked. If thats the case, then go here .

Unlock bootloader via HTCDEV method.
Flash your custom recovery.
Mount your phone, move your ROM zip onto your SD card.
Reboot phone/bootloader/fastboot then in your cmd prompt (pointed to your SDK folder) boot your phone into your recovery.
In your recovery flash the zip file of your preferred ROM.

Okay, the steps :
1... 2.... 3.... (you have done that)
4. Have you download the Carbon ROM.zip file? If yes, Place it into the internal storage.
5. Reboot your device into recovery. ( when the purple light flashes, tap the volume + button some times)
6. In recovery menu, 1st select Wipe >>>> Swipe to factory reset.
7. Go back, select Install>>> Instal from sd card.
8. Select your Carbon.zip and install.
9, After finishing, Wipe Cache/Dalvik,
10. Reboot.
I dont have Carbon ROm .ZIP on Internal Storage /SDCard of Xperia S. I tried to connect phone to PC and put ROM.ZIP using ADB push file method but it returns error: device not found.
I can connect to fastboot. I downloaded Sony flash tool, Emma it requires Username pwd. Downloaded Andriod SDK to find if i could have some luck.

Have you downloaded the ROM.zip? When you connect your phone to PC, does it show the internal storage?
I recommend you to use http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php flashtool instead of Emma.
Yes i have Carbon ROM . ZIP with me but on PC. Phone's Internal Storage is not showing on PC. Maybe due to the drivers i installed for Fasttool/ADB ......................... winusb.inf. I am using Flashtool for xperia now.
Question is how can i put Carbon ROM.zip on internal storage of mobile and install thru TeamWin . Or restore original firmware and start over again.

Okay, I think you have to start over.
1 Download the 'Stock Firmwire.ftf' .
2. Place it into \Flashtool\firmwares.
3.Open flashtool
4. Press the 'Bolt' icon on the left. Choose, flash mode
5. Select the 'stock-firmwire.ftf', and flash.
6. Wait for some minutes. A new window will pop up, which tell you to Hold Volume Down (-) key, and connect the phone to PC. The Phone must be turned off and usb debugging On BTW.
7. Now, it'll start flashing. when finished, Unplug the phone, Start it. Let it settle.

You have to install Google apps (gapps) for that, You'll find here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Download the Mini or MIcro modular package. Place the zip into storage and flash and reboot. Enjoy.
Your recovery dont have 'mount USB' option? If yes, use it and plug SXS in OC then go to file explorer and you probably must see your internal sd like USB stick. Then, just put zip into good place.
