Microsoft Yureka - YU Yureka General

I'd say a 64 bit Snapdragon 615 is not bad at all for the stated price, you get Cyanogen OS 11 too, absolute brilliance !
The screen size is 5.5 inches , agreed a tad bit big for your palm but still the resolution provides a crystal clear display for movies and online videos.
With a screen resolution of 1280x720 pixels, Yureka is a pretty good buy at the moment.
you also get 2 GB RAM and 16GB ROM for a small price of 8,999 , that's a pretty good buy!

The Specs the HD 7 should of had.

I am feeling a little let down with the current release of WM7 phones.
There was a real chance for HTC in particular to do a Killer WM7 phone but instead we get a rehashed HD2 and poor build quality.
It could have been the best phone on offer buy a long shot.
These are the specification we should of been offered.
1 GHz Qualcomm 8260 Snapdragon processor
WM7 with HTC Hub
16 or 32 GB Memory
768 MB of RAM
Size: 123 x 68 x 11.8mm (4.84 x 2.67 x 0.46 inches)
Weight: 164 grams (5.78 ounces) with battery
4.3″, WVGA resolution Capacitive display
HSPA/WCDMA (900/2100 MHz) and GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
Bluetooth® 2.1, A2DP, FTP, OPP, and PBAP
Wi-Fi®: IEEE 802.11 b/g/n
3.5 mm stereo audio jack
Standard micro-USB (for charging and syncing)
8 megapixel color camera with auto focus and dual LED flash with 720p HD video recording
1500 mAh rechargeable lithium ion battery
Motion, proximity, and ambient light sensor
4 G compatible.
1.3 mega-pixel front facing camera
Most of these specs are straight from the HTC Desire HD.
This phone would of been spot on for me.
rrrr... what? there is very little in your specs list that would make it that much better. like 768 MB of ram. That is an improvement but not much imo. and all this is pretty much already the HD7. I havent really been following the HD7 so i dont know the exact specs but, it does look the same

8 megapixel camera [Only 5 meg in HD 7]
1500 mAh rechargeable lithium ion battery. [1230 mAh HD 7]
A secondary camera of 1.3 MP is also offered for video calling. [Sorry forgot to add this one.]
Also it is Qualcomm® QSD 8650. [I will correct it]
And 4 G compatable.
Also the build of the HD 7 is not as good as HTC Desire HD.
QSD 8250 / 8650 is the same processor more or less - difference is the latter does CDMA.
People need to stop whining about the specs already.
come on guys its HTC, u know how they market their products.. just wait for a few months they will bring out a HTC whatever name it is will this and that. this is how they make money..
look at all those HTC wp7 phone, i seen 2 of them and what can i say.. the OS is awesome phone is ****.. feels like really cheap plastic.. and yes my friends hates me for saying there new phone is crap.
why does HTC need to bring out 4 wp7 phone there is no advantage if u compare it.. apart from the 8 mega camera
MS managed to get OEMs not to screw the system or drivers or anything. HTC found a way around. Screw chassis. What were they thinking? "Hey, there's small space between battery cover and chassis!" "Blah, doesn't matter, WE HAVE DRIVERS FROM MICROSOFT, IT IS MICROSOFT'S FAULT!!" or what??
// talking about HD7
If you compare the specs to some other Android devices then the specs are not that bad for first gen WP7 devices.
They are all at least 1Ghz and thats good for new smart phone buyers.

The only thing I think on this list as an improvment is the bigger battery but saying that its still better than the desire in real world use. Plus it won't take much to sell a bigger battery in the store.
More ram is not needed it only improves perfomance if you fill the lower amount and that's only happens with androids rubbish managment.
Front cameras don't sell phones nobody really uses then and just use up space.
Build quality is solid never held a phone that's felt so well made.
On top the screen rocks so what its LCD you can only tell if you put them side by side and its better in the sun.
All in all its s top notch phone and I love it makes android look amature and unfinished and IOS look dull
The thing with the CPU is that it will perform better than the Desire HD in most cases anyways, since the Dalvik VM in android is pretty slow compared to the .NET CLR engine.
Also, most android apps are designed to work on the mid end devices so very few does use the full potential of a High End Android device.
I think that android is going to dominate MidEnd in the future, and WP7 and iOS compete in High end.

If you have had one at hand is it as well built as the HD2??
I suspect that you are somehow commercially tied to O2 perhaps?

Good Lord, I CAN NOT WAIT for tomorrow!
That's gonna be one hell of a phone.
8x zoom ? xperia s has 16x zoom i was happy this will be the first phone with 4k recording but ACER got it before the release of this beast
Great phone. I've seen something about Xperia Z1 mini. As rumored here it should be smaller and with only 720p display and also with smaller battery capacity... But it would be great to have smaller version of Z1 (if it would also contain the alluminium frame I really like that)

Digital zoom, it doesn't matter if it's 2x or 10x, digital zoom is crap. Besides, 8x on 20 MP is better than 16x on 12 MP.
That said, this looks like a very awesome phone, a little on the expensive side, though.

Thinking Of Switching From Sony Xperia XZ Premium To Xperia XA2 Ultra

Advantages of XA2 Ultra over XZ Premium:
- Substantially larger screen
- Most likely much better battery life
- Battery friendly CPU consuming less power than Snapdragon 835 yet not far behind with regards to real life performance
- Possibly better camera sensor and image processing
- Far better front selfie camera with flash
Advantages of XZ Premium over XA2 Ultra:
- Slightly better CPU although more power consumption
- 4K Screen with far higher PPI
- Side finger print sensor more practical than rear
What do others think? I think the XA2 is a superior and excellent super mid ranger having an excellent balance between everything. I think the XZ Premium having a small 5.5'' screen is not large enough for 4k content and see it is wasted. 1080P for a 5.5'' display is enough.
Also, I rarely view 4k content since most movies are still only 1080P! Why have a 4k screen when it's barely used and 5.5'' is too small for 4k content.
Remember, this is simply my opinion and I'm not saying I'm right. I would love to hear what others think. What are your opinions for the upcoming XA2 Ultra compared to our XZ Premium?
I am dying for a full review on the XA2 Ultra and have a feeling it's gonna be one of the best, if not the best upcoming super mid ranger phones for a very affordable price. Just like it's predecessor, the XA1, it just may have a superior screen, high brightness, high contrast, decent enough PPI, hopefully an improved and tuned AF system with better images processing, less image noise and sharper corners, etc.
"Slightly better CPU" is that a joke?
This must be a joke lol XZ Premium sh*ts over the XA2 Ultra still

Sorry, my mistake, I was referring to the 660 and not the 630.
The XA2 (ultra) uses a snapdragon 630,not a 660. According to this website it has roughly 60% the power of the 835.

Not bad having 60% of the power. I however did make a mistake by referring to the 660 and not the 630, a big fail by me.
That said, I am looking forward to reading a full review on the XA2 Ultra once officially released.
At least the phone is running Oreo out the box so should perform at it's best.
Personally i wouldn't upgrade from the XZ premium to any current/confirmed phone in the market.

I know what you mean. Personally I'm very happy with my XZ Premium, only let down I WISH it was slightly bigger. Amazing super sharp 4k screen but such a small 5.5" only. I really hope the XZ Premium replacement will be around 6'' in size which would make 4k an even better experience.
All other LG/Samsung/HTC & Apple flagship all 6'' 2k screen yet we have a smaller bet better screen, this is my frustration with XZ Premium.
Main thing I like about the XA2 Ultra is the larger 6'' screen. Hopefully later on this year we will see a 5.7-6'' screen on the XZ Premium.

you are joking right?!
the XZP is a high end phone and the XA2 is a mid range phone dude, there is alot of advantages over the XA2
1. 4K HDR screen.
2. 3D scanner.
3. laser sensor.
4. much faster CPU.
5. more powerful GPU.
6. capable of decoding (playing) a high bit rate videos like 70Mbps and over (HDR content).
7. capable of capturing a 960fps.
plus theres no any advantages in the images processing or the contrast, cuz its the same since the release of the Z2, like X-Reality and the Triluminos Tech, the only different is the HDR screen, there might be a different in the brightness but the XZP has a decent brightness level.
as for the 5.5 screen that is not enough for the the 4K res, well it depends on your eye some people can tell the different and some cant, for me i can see the different between 4k and FHD, I've my XZP side by side with my friend's Note 8 2K 6.2 inchs screen, and i have noticed a slight different in the details, the note 8 had a better black level though, colors and the sharpness goes for the XZP, I also put it against a galaxy C7 a 1080p 5.7 inchs display, the details where noticeable.

This sounds too good to be true, not buying it until it's announced. Sony has a history of doing what they want instead of what makes sense. Guess we'll find out in about a month though.
Not happy with the possibility of no headphone jack. But I suppose it makes it easier to make the phone more waterproof...one less hole to worry about.
If they supply us with a dongle...can that cost them less than just putting in the jack???

I did read that. Very strange all the manufacturers are copying each other and ditching the headphone jack. Just means another adapter just to listen to music.
What I fear is what will they get rid of next. Memory card slot??

Moto e5 plus (USA version) review

Hello people, hope you have a great day!!!
So the Moto e5 plus is a budget device as you may know. It has a snapdragon 425 (International) or 435 (USA) and from 2gb(international) to 3gb(USA) of RAM. Internal storage is 32gb and has expandable storage. The screen is a 720p HD+ display with a 18:9 aspect ratio and rounded corners, the phone is also made of glossy plastic. It has a single front firing speaker that doubles as a speaker for calls. The battery is a massive 5,000mah capacity one. Lastly, it runs Android 8.0 (Motorola comfirmed it isn't getting android P tho, but it will still get the security patches).
Ok now for the pros and cons of the phone:
Pros:
1. The 18:9 aspect ratio on a phone like this is amazing, not all budget phones offer such a great feature.
2. The performance in the 435 variant is pretty outstanding. Of course, it isn't meant for gaming so it will suffer a bit from that but the application loading times and everything else feels pretty good for a phone like this (honest opinion, it runs most of the apps better than my S7 XD)
3. The stock Android experience combined with the 3GB of RAM makes the phone multitask like a boss!!! Never had refreshes with 6 to 7 apps open including a game.
4. THE BATTERY is MASSIVE. 5,000 mah can give you up to 3 days of light usage (up to 2 days with heavier usage).
Cons:
1. The screen is 720p, so in terms of screen resolution it isn't good, but it has good color accuracy, however, due to the low pixel density you may not find it that great. Viewing angles also suffer a bit but that's to be expected.
2. The phone isn't getting Android P which is disappointing. Even the G6 play with the 425 will get android P so in terms of performance this would run it better. But oh well, Motorola doesn't like updating software for the E series I guess!!
3. The price of it can be expensive in the USA, cricket sells it cheap, T mobile sells it moderately overpriced and sprint way too overpriced.
4. The glossy plastic build can get scratched easily and it also doesn't feel premium by any means!!!
If you own an e5 plus tell me your review of it too in the coments section!!!!
That's all that I can tell, I didn't put camera pros and cons due to that being more of a personal preference and we already know what we deal with budget phone cameras so. If you still want the camera review let me a comment in the thread.

Which is Better? A70 or Huawei Mate 20X?

I got the samsung a70. I like the phone's 6.7 inch display. But the aspect ratio makes it a bit narrow. That's why I'm thinking about getting the huawei mate 20x which has a 7.2 inch screen. Do you think I should stay with this phone or buy the mate 20x?
Bigger screen, faster cpu, faster gpu....more expensive.
Yes its obviously an improvement in some areas - it's a different class of phone at a higher price point. The question is are those improvements important to you and is the addition cost justifiable. Since "better" is a subjective term, you would need to answer that one yourself.

I love the Samsung A70 phone's thinner aspect ratio because the extra length makes it a lot more practical as a phone and in most cases makes it as enjoyable to use for consuming media as a larger phone with 16:9 aspect ratio, and still fits in my pockets easy.
For my uses, which doesn't include a lot of video gaming, I don't ever want to use a 16:9 phone again.
Not to mention I only paid $370 USD for my A70.

But from what I read you can unlock and root the mate 20x. Unless I'm missing something.
Mate 20X but it costs double the price of the A70.
Excellent performance. Insane battery life. Excellent stereo speakers. Flagship build quality. Screen is wider and bigger but maybe less sharp than A70.
Mate 20X is a beast.
Alas, No Huawei for me as the problem with android updates and google play updates still not fully solved, then the bootloader is locked as i know and no custom development in kirin processors as snapdragon variants, narrow phone means easier to use and carry with one hand , a70 not a bad phone really the only things that pisses me off is i prefer stock vanilla android and only mono external speaker, but every thing else is near perfect

Difference in sharpness must be noticeable. Mate 20X has a much bigger and wider 7.2 inch screen with a low pixel density of 346 only. While the A70 has a much smaller and narrower screen but a higher pixel density of 393.
This means A70 screen is definitely sharper. It's a very high quality super sharp AMOLED panel comparable to other Samsung flagships.
Meanwhile the Mate20X has an OLED panel not SAMOLED. Don't get me wrong, I have seen reviews on Youtube of the Mate20X and the screen looked very nice. It's not like we are talking about LCD vs AMOLED.
Mate20X is still the superior phone and multimedia beast.

Got to disagree with you on one issue. The info I researched is that the mate 20x is amoled not oled.
So you havent seen the a70 in person I assume.

So which phone do you prefer? The a70 or the mate 20x? And can you please give reasons for why... looking foward.

I prefer the Mate 20X hands down. Bigger and wider screen (A70 is too tall and narrow). better aspect ratio 18:9 (A70 has the ridiculous 20:9 which makes 90% of online videos appear with huge black bars on the sides). Better stereo speakers with loud and clean sound (A70 has a single mono speaker with just average loudness). Better premium build quality. Better performance with flagship chipset. Much better cameras. Amazing battery life I have seen 10 to 12 hours sot on reviews (A70 battery life didn't impress me at all) . Fingerprint sensor is blazing fast and super accurate (A70 fingerprint sucks).
That's all I can think of right now.
Amoled IS OLED, it's short for Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode. It's one of two types of OLED panel, the other being PMOLED (Passive Matrix OLED). All modern phone displays are AMOLED, although samsung like to bundle everything including the touch sensors in to to one layer and call it AMOLED. The underlying oled tech is the same however. Don't know if the mate 20x has a single layer panel. Doesnt make much difference tbh.

Hmm the A70 objectively isn't as sharp as the panels used on the S/Note series. It also doesnt support HDR or wide colour gamut (DCI-P3). I honestly don't think they are that far off though.
Battery life of the A70 certainly impresses me - I regularly get 7 hours plus OST. Doesnt mean that couldn't be improved upon of course but it's far from terrible. Much better than what I ever saw from my old S8.

Heres another site comparing the 2 phones that state the a70 has super amoled and the mate 20x has amoled. It also states that both phones are HDR:
http://phonesdata.com/en/compare/5742/5451/
The A70 doesnt support HDR10 or Dolby vision or anything like and doesnt have a HDR compatible screen. Netflix hides its HDR content, youtube doesnt give you the option to choose a HDR stream etc.
That website doesnt mention HDR at all under the screen section. Notice it mentions both HDR10 and the DCI-P3 wide colour gamut for the mate 20x but not the A70? That's because the A70 doesnt support them.
It totally depends on your taste of phone, I don't like to waste more than 250 euro on a phone since I break one once a year (because I'm clumsy when I'm drunk).
I bought my samsung a70 for 240 euro by my local carrier (without a loan or an subscription) if I look online for the mate 20x it cost around 900 euro which is way to much for a phone for me since I only use it for whatsapp, discord some browsing and watching a movie in the train.
You should check these marks if u want to buy that phone:
- Do i want to look cool with a 900 euro phone from huaweii or a cool samsung phone
- Do I want super deluxe photo's or decent photo's
- Do I want to watch super crisp netflix movies on my phone or do I want to watch movies just a little bit crisp and cropped to fit for full screen
- Do I want a bigger screen or do I want a phone that just fits in your pocket
- Do I want to pay 3 times the price for a phone or just a small price for a perfectly fine phone
I would recommend if u have the money the huawei mate 20x but if u don't just go with the samsung one and go to a movie or smthg with a nice girl with the money you spared
