How does it work?

It uses the standard touch-tones for each numeral to create it based on the numbers in the callers phone number.

You cannot generate a specific tone. It make it by itselfs depending on the numbers of your contact.

Oh, so it generates it off the touch tones?
Meh, I know it's a gimmick but was hoping it'd be a little cooler than that.

Extreme Text

Guys .... just downloaded this .... works perfectly ...
http://www.birdsoft.biz/extremetext.htm
does it allow you to use a vibrate for your texts? thats really the oly feature I'm missing from IMSMS.
So many free apps out there for it. No thanks!

what free threaded app do you suggest then?
Except for a bunch of features that haven't been implemented yet, I'd have to say this is the best threaded sms program out there for the SP. Good GUI and being able to read from the existing inbox and sent items.
I wouldn't pay for it just yet with all the missing features but it looks very promising.
Agreed. I like it, but missing a few things.....
prefer the interface to IMSMS tho!
I really wish IMSMS and the others would display the number of unread messages on the homescreen. I txt a lot and that's a dealbreaker for me. even if it was a custom plugin it'd be better than nothing. Why dont they use the internal database to do this like extreme text does?

Um, this is the Extreme Text thread.... perhaps ask on the IMSMS thread and you may get and answer either way if it is possible or not. Posting a complainant and comparing a free SMS software on another thread for another piece of software seems a bit off.....
Um, I know what thread this is. Someone mentioned IMSMS and I was pointing out that IMSMS doesn't do something that this one does.
Look up the definition of "rhetorical question."

I now understand your point.
I know what rhetorical questions are, my wife has to resort to those as well.

Keep the system volume low than the ringing volume. Hint about where you can find. Its on the top of your device screen where you can see the speaker. Left one is for system volume and right one is for the ringer. Ringer mean at the call time and when message arrives. Till this date I didn't see any regedit here on this forum.

Missed call reminder?

Cheers mate.. that worked...
If you really want to find best ringtones etc you should not limit the thread to HD only. The only reason to do that would be the acoustic differences between models speakers and "sounding boards". But I can assure, these differences are SO small

How to find out received SMS sender's number

Is there a way to find out from which number has an sms arrived, when more than one number is associated with the sender?

Nice question!
This happens because of microsoft: They do not understand that in other countries, unlike the United States, pepople have more that ONE mobile phone..
So they don't handle this situations.
I solve in a silly way.. But i don't have evidence that works: i simply replay to the sms.. And I see what number it uses for destination.
Ohh I see.
If it really uses the number in the reply which was used to send the sms, then it is a good workaround.
But we cannot be sure, can we?
Maybe someone has already made a simple app/plugin/whatever to find out the number or something?

I'm sure of it
It's no different from replying to an email when sender has more than one email address in your Contacts - your reply goes back to the address the sender used to send the original message. It's behaviour by design.
I was farting around the other day and came across an app that (if I recall correctly) does that. I am really sorry because I cannot remember the name of the program, but I will try to re-trace my farting around and if I come across it, I'll post back here.
Ok, thx!
