[Q] SM-T800 don't share screen - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I try to share the screen of my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (SM-T800) to a Acer Projector P7505 with Acer USB WIFI Dongle (MC.JG711.007).
Two days ago I started the first try, activated the 'Mirroring Screen' function on the projector in AP-Mode (so that projector shares the wifi signal) and activated 'Screen Mirroring' on the Tab.
Acer projector was found and the tab connected successful. I hear the touch sound over the projector speaker, but no picture.
Then I tested several other devices: OnePlus One with Android L, several Nexus with Android L and a Samsung Galaxy with Android L and Samsung 'Screen Mirroring'. They all work fine with the projector.
I thought its a problem of KitKat, so i upgraded the tab manually to Android L (5.0.2) and its still not working. Same result: sound, but no picture.
Then a other thing comes to my mind. The tab has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and the projector and all other tested devices a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
So is flashed SuperSu on the tab rooted successfully and lowered the resolution with the app 'SecondScreen' while 'Screen Mirroring', but same result.
The next was to use the solution of this tread, just to give it a try (http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193),
same error.
After only trying the 'Screen Mirroring' function I switched the technology.
I activated the DLNA function of the projector and tried to share the screen via a DLNA stream from the tab.
Same result! connected but no screen.
Then is used the 'Screen Stream Mirroring' app to cast the screen via a VLC / OBS stream and tried to receive the signal via 'VLC Player for Android' on a other device with hotspot.
The signal received successfully the devices connected and the stream began, but no screen.
Under 4.4.2 and 5.0.2 i factory reseted the device and whiped the cache Severin times.
Can anyone help me to cure the curse of my Tab S that it won't share its screen?

Update:
I now tried to share the screen via chromecast to the projector, but i also got a blank screen.
Then i used a diferent launcher (Go Launcher) because Touchwiz stopped working when i changed the resolution.
And i tried another resolution changer, no success.
Today in the morning, i tested the screen mirroring with a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 from a friend. It works like a charm.
I ve two conclusions first the changed resolution will not be applied on the screen sharing function, or second the screen sharing method has changed on newer devices.
Has onyone an idea how i can manipulate the screen mirroring settings?

screen mirroring not working on Smart tv after rooting

hi everyone, I noticed that after rooting (I9195) screen mirroring function is not working on my smart tv. Although it functioned fine before rooting. It does connects but immediatelly disconnects from tv without displaying phones display to tv. Meantime my Note 8.0 (non rooted) screen mirroring works fine. Any ideas for fix without root removing?

I've been looking all around for a solution, and it seems like the best solution is one that leaves the phone temporarily unrooted (until you reboot):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43453374
I've seen some mention that it still works fine with their rooted S4, saying that the custom recovery is at fault, but I can't even find the stock recovery to flash and find out.
Personally, I think I'm going to just flash the stock firmware and stick to being un-rooted. The only reason I'd be rooting at this point would be for Sixaxis support, but I barely have the time to go and use such a setup.

Some miracast related questions

I am happy with the way Miracast works with my Nexus 7 2013 and Netgear PTV3000. Except for an occasional 1 sec slip, the screen is mirrored perfectly. Though there are some things I would like to change.
1. Is it possible to show a video full screen in TV (without the previous, home buttons)?
2. Is it possible to turn the tablet's screen off while the TV portion continues to work? Currently, when I turn off the tablet display, TV also goes blank.
3. Is it possible to route Skype and Hangouts audio to TV? Currently, when I video chat in these apps, video is shown in TV, but audio gets played through tablet.
Mirracast is for screen mirroring only. If your screen is off, so is Miracast. What you need is ChromeCast.
^^THIS!! A ChromeCast is what ya need!! I want one for myself too! As soon as a Best Buy within 1 hour of me gets 1 in stock, I'm going to grab it!!
Sent from my '13 Nexus 7 FHD using XDA Premium HD
Thanks guys for your replies.
I came across two apps: full!screen & ScreenStandby. I haven't tried them yet since both require the tablet to be rooted.
While in Miracast, YouTube, Netflix and MXPlayer shows in fullscreen. For others, I think the full!screen app should be enough. ScreenStandby has an option to turn of screen while mirroring. That I guess would solve my second question.

How to force portrait with mhl (hdmi)

Hi all. I just bought an mhl (hdmi adapter) for my galaxy nexus.
I'm searching everywhere to find how to force portrait mode when the phone is connected to the tv.
I already tried to lock rotation and some apps to lock rotation but none of them works.
I have tried with a samsung galaxy s2 and it works (the screen just follows the phone rotation), but with the galaxy nexus the screen is ALWAYS in landscape mode.
I really think that this is a kernel-related problem... i have franco kernel at the moment.
What do you think? Many thanks

Screen mirroring via wireless display?

A few quick questions for somebody who already has the Moto z play.
Does this phone have wireless display screen mirroring in the stock room? You can check by going settings -> display -> cast and then there should be three dots in the top right you can expand to check and enable casting via wireless display.
Secondly can someone in the U. S. Check if fire emblem heroes is available on the play store for this phone?
Thanks guys
If you mean Miracast, it's not an option from stock, I assume this is because Motorola wants people to buy the projector mod. You can enable Miracast, but you'll have to root your phone first so you can edit build.prop.
I was able to install Fire Emblem Heroes in Canada.
located in the US
no dots in the cast menu. as @timster01 said, Miracast is not an option. you'll need either a Chromecast or to root to enable Miracast.
I've been running FEH flawlessly. great game.
man chromecast is blazing fast something so so rocking hardware! Buy it blindly!! I bought it very cheap hardly used like new one, and its rock solid!! . My expensive and not much expensive smart led TVs(1 panasonic and other sony) have miracast and it sucks like hell, takes life to connect then plays and stutters even on a rapid fast internet connection that I have, its only and only miracast to blame! "mark my words". Chromecast connects 100% always immediately and all apps icon shows so nicely first then video starts. I keep watching videos and movies, its super awesome!!!!! In miracast you only can mirror your phone. In chromecast you start the video and it keeps playing on your tv, and do whatever you want on your phone, make calls or anything! All still will be super smooth. Never disconnected even on 1 bar wifi connection on my phone, something great within that chromecast that takes care of it or whatever. That's why its good all apps are also pushing towards the chromecast "cast" icon. You will notice when you install any video watching good reputed apps now, they will show a pop up to show that you can cast them. Its not about the projector mod at all. First its really about chromecast, as it shows in the wireless display section as well, without root, without changing commands and without the three dots in the top right. Being all google stockish that's why.
Moto Z Play perfectly made for and is definitely meant for chromecast!

Question Can't cast screen to Chromecast with MIUI 13

I bought a Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE this past Saturday. I got two or three system updates which I applied, the last one was too MIUI 13.
Now each time I try to cast my screen to a Chromecast it immediately fails. I get a message "Casting screen to ... has ended". It tries twice with the same result.
The Chromecast display says that the device stopped out failed casting, or something to that extent.
I'm pretty certain that I tried and succeeded to cast the screen before the final upgrade to MIUI 13.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Or the opposite, is it working hope others?
I have the same problem I can't cast anything and it gives me the same message if you solved this problem please tell me

Same here. I also started to get a message "you are about to cast or screen record start or cancel" .not sure whether that is android or miui.(I have a note 10 pro) Anyway, when I click start it disconnects immediately. All very weird . Btw. Problem is mirroring. Casting using chromecast icon works. I guess we have to wait for a miui update
Seems i resolved it from reddit post needed new versions though
I installed / updated cast and casting apps from here
cast and casting casting - i have a poco f3

i said it resolved it in my reply, yes it did now i can see the chromecast icon and and can cast
Casting 0.4.32
Cast 12.4.8.18
And it's still not working, doesnt matter if im using cast via settings, wireless display and so on. Doesn't even discover my TV... OP5 connects in few seconds...
10th of June - cast still not working
I have a Xiaomi 11 ultra and had same issue. Here is what worked for me after reading the help of the MIUI cast app.
I switched on the "Screen mirroring" app on my Android tv (Chromecast and Google Home could not connect) as soon as I did my TV showed up in the MIUI cast app. It seems to explicitly trigger Miracast on the TV?
Anyway, I selected my TV in the app, it said "registering Xiaomi..." On TV and it worked.
TV now also shows up when "Screen mirroring" on TV is not explicitly selected. So it seems to work going forward.
Google home still says "casting screen has ended". MIUI cast started working reliably though
Had to change source on TV to miracast then open wireless display option on phone, thats the only way to get my phone screen casted... Bit complicated compare to one press of button on my 2017 OP5

Screen Stream Mirroring Pro version 2.6.0. Can get paid mod off internet. Works with Chromecast. There is a delay though. Works fine for streaming video. Also if you have firestick you can put it on the mirroring option and then use the cast setting on your phone to screen mirror. Wi-Fi just has to be on, doesn't even need internet for firestick. I have the same problem with Redmi k50.

On Screen Stream Mirroring Pro you got to go into the audio settings and change it to internal or it'll pick up your phone speaker.
Thanks for your suggestions.
I got an update yesterday and I can now screen cast to Chromecast! MIUI 13.0.9.0 (SKOEUXM)
I think I was a bit quick to celebrate. I was only able to cast the screen one single time.
Important to check what version of the 2 apps you are running... casting and cast apps
I am using cast version 12.4.8.17 and casting version 0.4.32 and running miui 13.0.7.0 (poco f3)
I had an updated and it stopped working, just go to the app (manage apps) and click uninstall updates.
It is important to restart the phone and do not update system apps
Looks like it is finally working again. Miui 13.0.13
I tried to update but only show me the muiu 13.0.4
Hi, I dont know how, but it's works.
Change Regional setting to switzerland, now my miui 13.0.6 start screen mirroring to tv from system setting
