[Q] USB Debugging grayed out - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to run Helium to connect the device to another phone or to my computer but it requires USB debugging turned on when connected via usb and USB debugging is grayed out in settings. Anyone know how to get it to turn on?

From the Developer Options screen, turn off Developers Options, then turn it back on. Now you should be able to check the USB debugging box.

Need to disconect the cable to be able to tap it.

Thanks very much! Worked like a charm.

[Q] LeeDROiD_v2.5.0 USB Debugging

I flashed my HTC Desire with LeeDROiD_v2.5.0. ROM.
I turn off USB debugging, but each time i connect my PC with phone USB
debugging is turned on.
Also, each time i run Titanium backup application it says that my
security settings are incorrect and that i should turn on USB debugging.
In changelog of 2.5.0. says that USB debugging issue is fixed.
If i reboot my phone with USB debugging turned off rebooting goes fine.
Any solutions?
My only idea is to turn off usb debugging while connected to computer.

[Q] No USB debugging?

I think I am unable to get my phone into USB debugging mode.
First off, I believe I have downloaded all the correct drives via links from this forum. I have enabled USB debugging mode by going from Home > Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging checked.
However, when I connect my phone, in the status bar it reads, "USB connected" should it say something with regards to USB debugging? My HTC phone specifically would say USB debugging when connected. Please forgive my noobness, this is my first Samsung phone.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated, thank in advance!
I, too, came from a long line of HTCs. There is no notification for USB debugging for this phone. If you want to make sure it is working, root it!
Good luck and enjoy your new phone!
Type
adb devices
If you see your phone, usb debugging is working

[Q] Forcing usb debugging

So my screen is broken and i am trying to use [email protected] but i can't enable the usb debugging. Is there any way to enable it on the computer?
I don't want to flash a rom because i want to keep the data.
I have the same problem, screen on my wifes E4GT is broke but phone seems to work. When I connect via USB it shows the two devices but no drives show up. Tried kies and it says to enable debugging mode, which I thought I did but I don't remember.

USB Debugging and its relationship to "Use USB to" options

Wonder if it is only my reme! Unlocked boot-loader. Ver: RMX2081_11_A_41. Not checked on 33 or39.
1. Enable USB Debugging - connect to PC - Select usb connection only for charging device - Debug option goes off.
2. Enable USB Debugging - connect to PC - Select usb connection for "transfer files" - Debug option stays on.
3. Connect to PC with USB debugging on and select "transfer files" - pull down QS and tap to select usb connect is only for charging - Debugging forced off in dev options settings.
Is it something implemented in Android 10? Never had a device with stock Q ROM. Used only custom Q ROMs on earlier devices and not exposed to this implementation if it is so! Did not want to upload a screen record of the same as it is about ~11 MB.
Can someone please throw some light on this and how USB debugging option has to be tied to USB connect choices - if it happens on anyone's device? And thanks in advance.
I have read this - https://www.realme.com/in/support/kw/doc/FAQ1114 though it is an older one but still not able to figure out the relationship when USB transfer files can exist without dev options but not the other way around.

Question USB Debug Mode

My windows 10 PC only recognizes my P6P when I have usb debugging turned on. I can turn usb debugging off and it's not recognized, tried a reboot and still have to have usb debugging on to transfer files via usb cable. Not really a problem as I don't mind usb debugging on all the time but just wondering if there's a solution with it off. Seems to be the only issue I've found in 7-8 days of use.

From what i have seen even with android Auto have to have debugging turned on and have to go way down list to enable data. Default is no data. No reason to ever turn off debugging. mine has been on since around 2010.
Go into system devices in win 10, (I never got passed 7 x64 lol) with fone usb debugging turned off, what devices have an exclamation mark?
Then turn on usb debugging while viewing system hardware devices to spot any changes..?
In dev options, in fone, or wherever it is in yours, check usb settings, you know, where you can set usb to mtp, or file transfer etc... check those settings.
edit, and one question, if usb debugging is turned off, can you still charge fone from pc?

Yes, that's always the first thing I turn on but just thought it odd that it has to be on to transfer files.
