[Review] CHOETECH 50 Watt 6 Port Desktop Rapid USB Charger

Desktop chargers have become of my favorite tech accessories to use this year. It wasn’t until recently this year that I have become accustomed to using a desktop charger for juicing up my devices. These days there are so many gadgets to be charged up by via USB connections. That’s where a desktop charger comes in handy! CHOETECH has a 50 watt 6-port rapid USB charger to help you get all your devices all charged up.
Specs:
Input: AC100-240V
Total Maximum Output: 5V/10A
Charging Port Output: 5V/10A(max)
Quantities of the charging port: 6-ports
Dimension: 88.4*29*71.5mm/ 3.4*1*2.8in
Weight: 158g
After testing and using this desktop charger as a daily driver charging unit, I was please with the results. The cool thing about this particular charger is that it is a smart charger, which means that it can detect the type of charge (voltage/power) that goes into the device(s) plugged up. This helps prevent overheating and overcharging that could potentially damage your devices. Not too mention this CHOETECH charger is fast! The quick smart charge is definitely the selling point for this charger.
Having 6 ports is very convenient. Personally, I have about at 3 devices that need a daily charge; my phone, bluetooth headset, and home wireless phone). With that said, in my house my wife also charges her phone, we plug up the iPad and the PS4 controller needs charged as well. Needless to say, there are many devices in my home that gets plugged up daily or every other day.
I like to have two desktop chargers setup at my desk and entertainment center. The desk has my PS4, phones, tablet, bluetooth keyboard, and other devices here and there that I use a desktop charger with. On my entertainment center there is a media device, phones and tablets get charged up. Both in my opinion make great places to install the desktop charger.
The build quality is rather nice compared to other companies chargers I have used. It has a matte finish and is compact in size. There is a small orange LED light to ensure that the charger is working and plugged into a power source. The cable is long enough to use on top of a 4 foot high entertainment center. The only thing I would change about this build is the bottom needs to have some rubber stoppers to help it stay in place and not slide around. Other than that, this thing works great and I would definitely recommend checking it out.

IMPRESSIONS
This charger blew the socks off my OEM charger. I got it when I had my HTC One M7 and the charger that came with that phone did an okay job - but it was more like a trickle charge. When using this charger, I was able to get a full charge from an almost drained battery in about 2 hours. And it was roughly the same time to charge both my wife's Samsung S4 and my M7 at the same time. :highfive:
This charger is great. It has two ports and it is has good build quality. I have been using it now for a few months and it is still going strong and charges my Nexus 6 great when I don't want to use the insanely fast turbo charger.
Not quite sure what the "Smart" port is for - the box did not come with a description on that.
RECOMMENDED
I would recommend anyone in search of a USB wall charger to purchase this product. I have used OEM chargers, and cheap replacement ones, and this one beats all the ones I've owned, hands down.
Will this work with a Kindle?
"Smart" USB chargers include solid state logic with serial communications chips. When you plug in a device that wants higher current, it sends a query to the power supply saying something to the effect of "I want 2 amps. Is that OK?" If the power supply is a dump USB port, it doesn't answer at all, so the device either doesn't work, or only draws the default 500 mA (and charges much more slowly.)

[Review] Lumsing USB Type-C and Quick Charge 3.0 15000mAh Powerbank

Overview
Quick summary - great device really solid and well balanced with three output slots to charge two devices. The hugh 15,000mah it enough to keep several devices topped up for quite some time. The Qualcomm quickcharge 2.0 / 3.0 compatibility is a really nice touch for a powerpank meaning that you done have to be plugged in for long to give your compatible device a topup.
Unboxing
So in the box is the Glory P2 Plus battery pack, two a short black USB leads (one micro USB and one USB-C) and the instructions. The battery pack has a really large capacity at 15k mah which is enough to charge a Galaxy S6 up a quite a few times before itself requiring recharging. The battery pack is all white plastic body. There are 2 USB outputs and a USB type C in/out socket and a micro USB input. Its great that this is compatible with new and older technology meaning that its quite a versatile device. The two main USB outputs has one which is compatable with Qualcomm’s quickchrge 2.0 and 3.0 and one which is a ‘Smart’ output, which registers on my Galaxy S6 as ‘Cable charging’ so slower than using quickcharge.
Despite the capacity of the internal battery the weight of this doesnt feel too bad, it is pretty heavy but that is to be expected with the massive capacity. It weighs in at at 378g which is really isnt that heavy and the slim profile means that it will slot into a jeans pocket no problem.
On the front are 4 little blue LEDs which light up to show the capacity. In theory each dot should be enough to deliver 3,750mah of juice so in theory each light of power should easily charge any modern smartphone, just for reference the capacity of my Galaxy S6 is 2550mah. On one side is a plastic button you can press to view the charge or turn the pack on when you want to start charging a device. It charged my S6 fairly quickly (about 1 hour using QC) from nearly empty so the device delivers a amount of power from each port when charging a single device.
Overall I really like this pack, its nice, solid and premium feeling, works well and having a quickcharge port for quicker charging. The capacity is massive and will keep me going for a good few days of recharges on my phone when im away from an outlet.

Might sound stupid, but, i'm guessing this is safe enough to use on the Pixel?

Accessories [Review] Baesus 65w GaN 6 port charger (2 USB C, 2 USB A, 2 grounded outlets)

Hey everyone Baesus sent me over one of their new 65W GaN III chargers to test out (full disclosure, that is not a referral link). I was excited to try this product because it has 2 grounded outlets, making this similar to an extension cord with a multi-port charger. There are two USB C ports, both independently able to deliver 65w of power, two USB A ports (one 60w, one 5w) and the two aforementioned outlets.
As you might expect, once you start plugging in multiple devices the output power of each port drops. If you're using both of the USB C ports, C1 will drop down to 45w and C2 to 20w. In my testing I was able to achieve max charging speeds using C1 to charge my Chromebook and C2 to charge my Pixel, all while powering camera on either A1 or A2. The outlets didn't have any effect on the USB port output.
USB A2 can put out 60w when used on it's own, 18W when used with C1 (which would offer 45W) or 15W with C2 (which also puts out 15W). Using C1, C2 and A2 will offer 45W, 15W and 15W, respectively. A1 always puts out 5w, regardless of if used independently or in conjunction with any other ports. Higher powered laptops won't max out with any of these ports, but since this charger has two grounded outlets you can use the laptop's adapter to achieve full speeds, while still getting 65w out of the USB ports.
For me the outlets really set this apart as an accessory of convenience, and I'd highly recommend it to power users on the go. There are very few other chargers on the market that offers this much flexibility, and the ones I could find were twice this price and much less portable. Since this is GaN it remains nice and compact. There is an attached 4.9' cord with a flat plug. All in all this is a very well designed device, offering charging flexibility that can handle just about anything you can throw at it.
edit: they just provided me with a 20% discount code for xda: WN3YT4KV. again, the link I posted is not a referral link
