Hey guys, I'm looking for a way to get MMS working on my dinc on metropcs. There is MetrOFF for the eris and MetroDroid for the evo, but I can't find something similar to this for the Incredible. Everything else is working just fine, I only need mms. If something like that doesn't exist (a .zip/ROM i can flash) then could someone point me in the right direction and show me where I could find help? I debated if this was Q/A or development, but I think this fits my problem better

Have you tried THISthread. It will work for your phone as well.
Yes I did, it just kept saying 'Sending' without nothing changing.
you need to do this http://metropcsflash.blogspot.com/2011/04/htc-droid-incredible-deoxed-metropcs.html.
if you need more help you need to do this to fix your internet and picture message problems let me know. also do you have web working?
Yeah, I have calling, texting, and web working just fine. All I need is picture messaging. Any idea what part of that guide I should start at for MMS?
Ok so first and foremost, for the last two days (Sunday and Monday) my mobile network not been working at all. I turn it on and it acknowledges that but nothing happens, no notification in the notification bar at the top, nothing.
So i tried to fix it myself, did some googling, tried the t-mobile forum as that is my network and found an interesting post, posted 6 days ago. This person had a very similar problem to me and the solution they gave was to change an APN setting. In particular the Authentication type to "PAP or CHAP". That did nothing. Someone else told me to change the APN type from default to "*". Now that did work.
I had my mobile internet back, so i thought fine problem solved but bloody hell is it slow. It was never this slow, in fact before the problem i was quite impressed whenever i used my mobile network. Even when using HSDPA it is still very slow. Loading a website takes minutes rather then seconds.
To solve this i went to the t-mobile website and got new APN settings. Those new settings didn't even use HSDPA. I was stuck of GPRS! So i went back to the other settings and well i'm back to the problem of having a ridiculously slow mobile internet.
Anyone had the same problem? Or have a fix? Sorry for making this very long but i like to explain everything.
Would really appreciate any help on this matter. I plan on calling T-mobile tomorrow but if their APN settings didn't work i have no idea what to expect.
Nobody expects it but if this has just happened out of the blue then its more likely on T-Mobiles end. Maybe they're having some problems. Call them tomorrow just to confirm.
Cheers, will call them of course. I asked around and nobody else has had problems, i would have thought their own forums would be going mental if it was a big problem but maybe its confined to a small local server or mobile tower around here. We shall see.
God knows when the problem actually started, i was in Central London looking for a Starbucks and thought my phone could tell me, noticed it didn't work. I do know that it wasn't the gingerbread update because it was working after that.
Hi Folks,
I know there are similar threads out there for this topic, however, none of them actually provide the solution (PRL or APN settings) that we need to get this going.
My question is, is there anyone on this forum successfully using the EVO on Straight Talk with the MAXIMUM data speeds possible on a Sprint device? I mean, whatever method you found for optimal success is fine with me (QPST, PRL, or APN).
This is AWESOME, but I have no idea how it was done (the immense data speed!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ef0fv-Sgds
If so, can you please PM me or help me find that information or files please? I would really, really appreciate it! Thank you and have a nice day.
*BUMP...
Anyone, folks?
i dont know if anyone still looks at this thread but there are a few different ways to upgrade/fix your apn settings on the evo 4g depending on what version of android you are on 2.3, 4.0... etc.. etc..
Hello,
I've searched around the Epic 4G Touch forums as best I could, but sadly I couldn't find anything that was exactly this problem (although I found some interesting articles about wifi sleep time but they don't seem to apply). I'm experiencing an annoying issue where I can connect Wifi just fine, but if the phone is left for a small period of time (~10 minutes), wifi appears as if it's still connected, however it cannot send/receive data. When this happens, the wifi status says it's "connected", but there is no data connection. The only way to to get the data back is to turn off wifi, wait for 3/4G connection to initialize, then turn Wifi back on to refresh it...then it's fine again until I set the phone down again.
I had this problem on stock EL29, so I rooted and flashed Phantom Blazer ROM (very cool ROM, but I'm still experiencing the same issue). After reading the threads on here about wifi sleep times (apparently they're backwards with ICS roms), I've experimented with every setting, yet I still have the same issue--Wifi is fine as long as I'm using the phone, I set it down, after about 10 minutes pick it back up, says it's still connected, but no data connection.
has anybody experienced this problem with this phone? I'm about to unroot my phone/go back to factory so I can take it in to a Sprint store, the problem is they (trying not to be offensive) don't seem to know very much about this device. I thought I'd ask the pros before I return it, get an iPhone, and have to eat my words about how cool Android is vs. iPhone in front of all my friends. I'm hoping there's a reliable ROM or app that can resolve this vs. having to just replace the device!
Thanks for your help!
I'm not the only one
I'm not the only one with this problem:
edit: I can't post links to androidforums.com or anywhere else, but this same problem is all over the interwebs and nobody has a solution.
I'm sure it's not my router as my ASUS tablet/laptops/girlfriend's iPhone experiences no connectivity problems. I'm thinking this is a hardware problem with some of these devices. I will unroot/reset to factory tonight and let you know what happens.
What channel is your router on? And what type is it A/B/G/N?
This is s known TW ICS bug, most likely kernel related. Almost everyone is having this issue and there is no fix until Samsung decides to repair it. There are quite a few posts similar to this one. If you're using XDA's search function, it's not very good. Try using Google next time and search XDA that way.

Hey guys, thanks for the response. Just before I unrooted/reset to factory I tried one last solution--download an app called "Wifi Fixer". It has resolved a lot of these problems. It's not 100%, but after testing it for a day so far, I've only had to manually refresh the connection once or twice. It's a lot better, even liveable, and I won't be resetting to factory afterall, at least not until Samsung provides an update. So if anyone is having the same problem, try Wifi Fixer, hopefully it gives you a similar level of success...I'm not super happy about having to run another background process all the time, but it doesn't seem to affect battery, and the fix it provides is worth it to me.
Cheers!
Huh - a couple of things. Noticed this problem crept back in FF18 and didn't know why until I went back and checked the wpa_supplicant.conf that I'm using. The line ap_scan=2 was missing; after adding it back in the signal strength is back to full and stable.
I'll bump the thread but it appears the config changes here still hold after all:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569348
This should also avoid having the WiFi fixer there as you can specify the country in wpa_supplicant.conf manually.
Thanks for looking in to this! A couple questions from a noob like me though:
When you say the problem crept back in FF18 ... what does that mean? Is that something that exists in the "stock" version of the Epic 4G touch from Sprint?
The manual config file tweaks you're describing ... is that something I can perform myself?
Basically I'm wondering if it's "safe" to revert to stock in order to get consistent wifi signal, or if it's something I'm experiencing because of the ROM I'm using.
Thanks!
My Sprint S3 is rooted with TowelRoot but I did not tinker with custom ROMs or anything serious like that. Mostly just deleted/froze/Greenified some bloatware. It was working great for a couple weeks, then I ran the battery out completely at a job site and ever since I can't get a data connection in LTE/CDMA mode. If I switch to CDMA only, the 3G works just fine. There are some other weird quirks to my issue -
When I go to settings--->activate device, I temporarily have 4Glte until I exit
When I update profile or PRL, I temporarily have 4Glte until I exit
I have seen guides to fix similar issues using various codes with ## in the dialer, in fact Sprint support gave me some of these codes to try. They don't work, I type them in and absolutely nothing happens. What's up with that? I have seen other people experiencing similar issues due to a missing IMEI but I have mine. I have read of others who had APN issues, but I have no menu to reach my APN settings - supposedly you can tell voice dialer to "open APNs", but this does nothing for me.
I am trying to avoid taking this to the Sprint store because I've been told all they'll do is void my warranty and tell me to wipe my phone and start over. If my issue is similar to others I've been reading about, a full restore may not even fix it. I hope I didn't delete something important, I didn't remove anything that wasn't on several "approved safe to delete" lists for this model. Any ideas how to make my LTE work again?
