How to disable System Update notifications - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
Big thanks to @autoprime for mentioning this info on this in the general G4 forum. Figured I'd sum up the steps and repost in our sub-forum for anybody who may be struggling.
If you're like me, you're waiting on root and don't want to accidentally take that new OTA update that was pushed out about a week ago. This OTA has been found to prevent rolling back to previous versions of android, and may also block some/many of the root methods that the developers are preparing to release to us.
If System Update is constantly bugging you to update, follow the directions below:
1) Enable USB Debugging
-Go to About phone and tap on Build number 10 times to enable Dev Options
-Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging
2) Download and Install the Debloater tool (this happens on your computer)
-Windows http://rootjunkysdl.com/getdownload.php?file=Gates/DeBloater/Debloater-setup-v3.85.exe
-OSX http://rootjunkysdl.com/getdownload.php?file=Gates/DeBloater/Debloater.v.3.85.dmg
3) Connect your phone via USB. Make sure to install any drivers needed
4) Watch for pop up requesting ADB Access on your phone
5) Launch the Debloater tool
6) Select OK on the popup

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
7) Click the top left button
8) Find LGDMSClient.apk and put a checkmark next to it. Then select Apply at the top
Congratulations! You no longer have to worry about pocket-updating your G4 and not being able to root down the road!

(TIPS) Rooting!

Hey guys, I just wanted to post something that might help out some people, in case perhaps their USB Drivers don't work, or they can't get odin to recognize their device.
Note: I do not claim these to be definite answers. These are just things I have discovered to work.
1.) My computer won't recognize my phone! What do I do?
A.) Try this. Download the USB drivers from (possibly) another post here on XDA, or install the Samsung Kies application.
Then, get an application to extract the driver software, such as uniextract.
Extract the installer to a directory of your choice: (For simplicity, I say Desktop)

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then, go into Control Panel>Device Manager
Go to your device; It might be listed as "Unknown" and right click it.
Go to "Update Driver Software" and then click "Browse my computer"
Locate the Directory you extracted the installer to, and then click "Next"
wait for it to finish, then you're done!
Note! If it does this again, your device may show up as a modem. If so, just recreate the steps, and it will work.
2.) Odin doesn't show my device!
A.) If you just got done doing the steps above, you need to restart your computer. If not, check to make sure your phone is in Download mode. If still it does not recognize it, make sure you have "USB debugging" enabled in developer settings.
ATM, these were the only things I kept getting stuck at; if you have any more info on how we could help out some of the noobs (like me),
please reply!
Thanks!
NOTE! I forgot to mention, taht if you had previously installed drivers, YOU HAVE TO UNINSTALL THOSE! Otherwise, it will not work.

Broken contacts app

So I got this used HTC One m8 from my friend and there's a weird glitch that happened after I factory reset the phone. The app has the default icon, package name and won't respond when I try to open it. Here is a picture of it.

It's the Android app. Is it because there's no sim card in?
I'd love some help
Android version 6.0, not rooted.
Bump I asked here because no one can answer me.

try flashing thr RUU does not require root ot TWRP just require a pc and a usb connector get adb on your computer and type in adb fastboot reboot, wait for hone to reboot into bootloader and type fastboot gatvar all and post the result here. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2FyBGshXWIxeHdPRy1zWXdwM1E/view?usp=sharing use this link to download adb.zip. extract the zip file and go into the bundle folder, sdk, platform, platform-tool and press shift and right click at the same time and select open command prompt here and you got yourself adb and fastboot. (only works for Windows)

Can I Flash my LG G5 LS992 Sprint (Demo) Phone?

Hi:
I flashed a Samsung phone a few years ago so I am a little familiar on how to do this. I have had my LG G5 LS992 Sprint (DEMO) phone for about 2.5 year and just recently it started getting hot (sometimes) for some unknown reason... it is not the battery. I performed a factory reset and no change. So before I trash the phone for a hardware failure I thought it best to flash the OS and see if that fixes it.
I have tried every LG Flash utility I can find and they all fail. The LG Mobile Support Tool (LGMST) gives this error message:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Is this truly why I cannot flash the phone using any flash tool? I`m not looking for an upgrade, just a re-load of the latest firmware that I have. During flash attempts the phone is in Firmware Update mode, developer options are enabled, Enable OEM unlock is enabled and USB debugging is on. USB communications is set to MTP. It is running Android 7.0 Kernel 3.18.31 Software version LS992ZVF. Again, this is a "DEMO" phone if that makes a difference.
IN the LGMST if I choose the option of "Upgrade Recovery" the LGMST actually downloads a firmware image but fails when it tries to load it to the phone. It seems the phone has a built in flash-block by any method other than OTA. The phone is not active with any carrier so the OTA Firmware load method is not an option.
If anyone has insights as to what is going on I would sure like to know what they are. If I have to trash the phone I will.
Thanks,
Tom
