[Q]increasing G3 max brightness:Possible? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone.
I opened this thread because i think it's possible to increase theax brightness of the G3 screen by a good 20%.
I'm using a stock based rom,and i sometimes notice that when i loci the screen, the brightness increases by itself by a good 15/20% for a very little time, even if the brightness is set to manual at 100%. And then, the screen locks.
Seems that it goes to sonething like 120%...
So my answer is: could we take advantage of this "bug" to increase the max brightness of our G3? Which files should we edit to increase max brightness?
It would be very very useful under the direct sun light.

I do not think you could do it would be nice

That's not how it works on xda. This isn't development related. Next time post something like this in Q&A

Ok,now the thread has been moved. Thanks to the mods
So...nothing for now?

No, just no.
Not possible.
Even if it could be, this phone already changes your brightness from 100% to 90% under a moderate use, due to heat.

But,i would like to know which files sre related to screen brightness(max and min),and see if something can be edited.
For the heating,no problem, there's the CTT mod by @Robshr [emoji4]

"Jump to..." option TOO wide!

Hi Mods
This option will probably help new members at least once until they use a bookmark and then it becomes redundant, but you surely know better.
Anyway, it is too wide and I get scrollbars all over, which is too much for my 10 inches notebook screen.
Can you please find a solution
Thanks in advance

Think this has been rectified as not too wide on mine
All ok here, nice size!
Hi
Happy for you But it's not solved on mine
I have a Samsung NC10 10" and it is just exactly the right width. I mean the dropdown arrow is right at the edge beside the scroll bar. I am using Chrome but on IE it is still a bit too wide. Sounds like different browsers are the difference.

Hi donnaw
I have exactly the same problem in IE too
There's no problem in the reply screen, nor in Wiki, neither in XDA portal, just where is the Jump to... option.

Hi,
Ive just been told by Orange tech support that this phone does not support both 3G/HSDPA and WiFi being active at the same time?! Surely this is wrong?
I have never had the H symbol come up and when WIFI is switched on only 2G is available. Why cant i just leave WiFi on and have it select the best speed automatically?
I also have the Desire S on T-Mobile (T-Mobile and Orange are the same company here in the UK now and use the same towers) and that has the H symbol come up with WiFi active....
Please can someone enlighten me
Cheers Guys

...that you've bumped today. Makes sense to disable one while the others running otherwise you're just wasting battery.
Considering the first post has had 88 views and no answers i decided to rephrase the question in case i am being misunderstood.
I didnt ask what made sense or about battery draining issues or how to use my phone, surely if you have no input which can help resolve the matter you keep quite?
Why do people choose to preach and/or ask questions dragging out into multiple posts when all that is required is a simple yes or no....
Perhaps post count is more important than helping people?
If you insist, the simple answer is no.

YOU'RE the one who needs to sort your "attitude". If you don't like being pulled up about duplicate posting then I suggest you "keep quite", as YOU'RE the one that's in the wrong from the off . I also gave a perfectly reasonable opinion as to why it might be and YOU'RE the one that has made an issue out of nothing.

Notification Toggles like AOKP/CM on Stock?

As we all know, stock android is definitely a lot less laggier and more smooth than AOKP/CM10 at this stage.
Is there a Stock Android ROM that has the notification toggles that AOKP/CM provide? Even an app would work.
Notification toggles.... extended controls....widgetsoid... there's quite a few apps that does this.

Umm, no, you're still confused. You made a useless statement in that it lacked any actual actionable information that could actually help someone other than perhaps your ego.
I then made the open-minded and patient mistake of assuming your statement might be right (despite the clear lack of any motivation behind your post other than one-off trolldom) and opening myself up to learning from you.
You opted again, not to explain or support anything you've said, and instead post yet another empty post.
It seems my whole 10s of patience really /was/ wasted on a troll. So much for expecting all posters on xda to actually understand the point of xda…

Alas, Cataclysm has "died" before in the days of the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4. Atl4ntis disappeared for a year or more then and reappeared magically for the N5 and gained a large number of users. However, if he can't hack the stress, it was hardly fair to build up an even larger keen collection of users on FOUR different devices. I'm bitterly disappointed, but sadly not surprised. At least he gave his reasons on Pushbullet.
This is a sad day...... for me and the rest of Cataclysm users.

Thanks. I think I see his point about fairness, but man, does he have to be so nasty about it? Seems like he didn't really need to insult anyone, except maybe the XDA mods that he felt were unfair to him. But perhaps he feels it's a race thing (who knows, perhaps it is).
Anyway, it's too bad they couldn't solve the problems without going ballistic. Hope it turns out to do something positive.
This is all just sad...

Yes, and there is a fact. His method 'cata-mod' is and was very original. So I am confused too, and do not understand the moderators concerned. Especially because a thread with discussions about the 'why' is also closed.
This is not a simple 'not following the rules question'. Apparently we are dispirited to talk further.
I'm very sorry for Atl4ntis and Cataclysm.
He's been a very kind guy, always keen to answer help and fix bugs,
His ROM has been the best I've ever seen so far: a lot a customization, great features, great stability. A great balance.
I hope he will eventually be back, but he will be always remembered as one of the best guys and modder here!

Is remmaping battery percentages possible?

Hello Guys!
I have a GT-I9195 which drops to 0% from 35% nearly instant. This a known fact for so much of these phones.
I would like to know if it is possible to "remap" battery percentages in some low level way?
I'm okay with java programming, using LineAge OS, maybe some kind of low level programming can do this?
I mean "map" 100% to 100% and 40% to 5% or something like this...
Thanks in advance!
