Look for Wh and V printed on the battery.
mAh = Wh × 1000 / V
Example:Samsung Galaxy S3: 3.8 V 7.98 Wh7.98Wh × 1000 / 3.8V = 2100mAh
Looks too good to be true.However,it might be real,considering that the charging time is 5 hours.I believe this is a protection measure to not overheat the battery,after all it's not an original one.However,I don't understand how are they going to limit the current which enters the battery as that's dictated by the micro controller in the phone.In my opinion,after couple of months of usage,it will broke.
However,if you decide to buy it try to use it only when you don't need the phone too much,so the phone doesn't heat up a lot.I believe heating it up too much might cause the battery to swell and worst case scenario,it will blow up.

Got the HSA 3600mah battery today from aliexpress. Have attached some screenshots.
Inserted the battery into phone. It fit perfectly and charging it now.
Please suggest some android app that displays the correct battery information. So that we can validate what i received from HSA.
Will also update the charging hours it took and how long one full charge lasted for me with HSA battery in the coming days.

How much did you pay it finally ?
As i checked in the Aliexpress they are charging too much for delivery , so did you choose any particular vendor ?
And finally keep posted abt the performance of the battery
it was free shipping only... as previously mentioned paid only 595.
I am not able to find any app that displays the correct mah of the battery.
Its getting charged in 5hrs using redmi charger...
Got an usage time of more than 24hrs.. which i was already getting in my stock xiaomi battery... with dual sim, data and Wi-Fi usage.
So i guess the battery is similar to the stock one given by Xiaomi.
Should try konpson next as suggested by deepak kumar android.

You can use "AIDA" to see battery information, also "Ampere" is good enough to show battery information like ~Input Current, Output Current etc.

The battery for redmi 1s (BM41) its 2050 mah and is same size as the battery for redmi 2 (bm44) 2200 mah.

Wanting more battery life and having reading a few positive reviews about the Gold 3500, I got one from Amazon (UK). The numbers 3500 vs 2500 mah indicate I should get around 40% extra battery life compared to stock but having played with RC cars and helicopters running LiPo packs I know that pack ratings aren't everything.
Actual battery capacity depends on the discharge rate, the more juice you pull the less the effective battery capacity you get with a lot of energy wasted in heat due to internal battery resistance. Fact of life with batteries of all chemistry.
My original battery is about 6 months old now, charged daily from anywhere between 0-50% remaining. In day to day use the Gold does seem to last longer based on my 6 months experience with the original battery but how much better is it?
I charged the batteries in my phone and turned the phone off once it hit 100% but kept the charger on as it seemed to charge for a bit longer.
Using my RC battery charger, I used the discharge function setting the low voltage cut off to 3V (standard for lithium batteries) and set the discharge rate at a constant 300 mah. Using a constant discharge rate may not be realistic but it does allow for a fair comparison, keep in mind that our phones power usage jumps up and down depending on use.
Results

6 month old stock battery rated at 2500 mah = 2364 mah (which is what I would expect from a battery with 180 cycles on it)
Brand new Gold 3500 rated at 3500 mah = 2524 mah (a bit disappointing but at least as good as a new stock battery)
Now the discharge rate can make a big difference to effective battery capacity, it might be that the 3500 mah rating on the Gold batteries was determined using a very low discharge rate or they discharged it to below 3V.....or its just a gold wrapper over a stock battery
Interesting to note that the stock Sammy battery is pretty true to its rated capacity, so the perceived increase in battery capacity I experienced with the Gold battery is probably just the difference between a 6 month old battery and a new one.
Oh well, at least I have a spare battery now and didn't pay a fortune for the Gold. The Gold does seem to last a bit longer than the 6 month old stock on so I am happy enough with it.
Notes:
Gold battery had been in use for 2 weeks to run it in
Only one discharge cycle was performed
Could be that I have a dud battery, you results may differ
In real day to day use the discharge properties of the Gold may result in a higher 'effective' capacity

Mignon, maybe your can get a replacement from thrm and test again. Especially if you have a dud.
Do notice I notoce a significant increase in battery life after charging it past 100%. Probably placebo, I dont know.

I got 3500mah gold battery. I review it.
My rom is ultimate rom v5.1, and my stock battery was 11 months old.
Screen on time was always less than 4 hours.
Yesterday I got the gold battery, and I used it up to 1% without first charge, then I charged it 12 hours to initilize the battery.
So unpluged the charge, and tested it as the same usage. I always downclocked to 1000MHz, wifi on, no use 3g data, brightness is zero, bluetooth and gps is off. I downloaded 15 files and apps today, listened to music, did multi windows function, and almost used web browsing.
Now my battery is just 1%. Screen on time is over 5 and half hours. Obviously the battery was improved.
If official JB are released, the battery will be improved more.
But this is not made in Japan. This is made in China because Japanese is so strange on package.
Some of Chinese battery are so dangerous and may be fake, but this gold battery is good one.

I dropped my stock and it works perfectly till 55% then it dies. Gonna throw it away soon. So some of the cells could be damaged. Its not either they work or dont m8.

I am pretty sure most mobile 3.7v phone batteries are single cell, only the mugen styled battery extender jobs that require a different back cover run two cells in parallel.
Remaining capacity is usually just a function of cell voltage so it's strange that it should just tank at 55%. Battery protection circuits generally prevent discharge past 3.0 volts so not sure what it's going on there.
Either way it sounds like you need a new battery, wouldn't risk recharging a damaged cell...

yeah its strange. Stuff started to happen at 50, whrn restarting bat percentage dropped to 10-15%. Without restartingbit would go down normally in beginning. Now after using it some time and dropping it its 55%.
Its definitely it either works or doesnt.
Anyway I dont think it's single cell.
i have the same battery bought it a few months back i'am very satisfied....
it's not a 40% extra time even framework it designed to work with less voltage since after using it below 15% i notice always fake meter value, when you keep your phone asleep for half an hour you will notice an increase in percentage. not accurate but runs fine, its a spare and a great replacement i dont care if it's slightly powerful than stock at least its the same size for 4 extra hours.. i never needed to change case nor a cover of anything its great

Thanks for your time and efforts - your results are similar to my amateurish measurements performed twice and reported on the other 3500 battery thread. Having no device to test the actual capacity, I just used the continuous video playback in plane mode with minimal backlight. The time to full discharge was almost identical in both cases.

It won't damage your phone, but if you are going to use it as a gps while charging, it will probably keep dranig the battery, 800mah is not enough to charge it while screen is on and gps is running

That's pretty normal.. We ship a 3000mAh battery. Since we can not fully discharge a battery (since that would kill it) we do not get the full capacity.. I've had this on multiple phones nothing new..

Not necessarily, 18650 (li-ion) batteries like the Sony VTC4 that's rated at 2100mah can discharge its full 2100mah before being below 3.3V which is the limit. Despite being 4.35V in our phones, at 0% battery, the battery is at around 3.65V. To get the full mAh you would probably have to discharge it till 3.5V but that would reduce the quantity of charge cycles it would handle.

Currently my 3 phones all discharge to 3.5V... That's around the point that you hit 0%. Now if you would discharge it to 3.3 wouldn't that littery kill the battery?? R

Well the VTC4 is a 4.2V max li-ion so 3.3V is the limit.

If this is true, I don't care what reason, and I lost 500 mah in few months this is my last oneplus mobile
Prob had to do it so dash charge can do 30 minutes, if it was 3000mAh as claimed it may have taken 40 minutes and that's not as fast as 30 to 60 sounds, so I wouldn't doubt it, i don't feel I get 3000 mAh battery out of this phone, I still have to charge daily

What do you expect... Its only 3000mAh on a high end soc. My mum lasts 4 days with 2-3hr SoT.
If this is true then xda or someone else must make it public and uncover this idiocy. I'll never ever buy a phone from them if that's true. Please xda or someone eligible make a public test to find out the truth behind this.
The Oneplus 3 was published in the same period as the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
In my opinion, Oneplus was afraid that their batteries could eventually have the same problems as the Note 7, so they reduced the usable capacity of their batteries to 2500mAh by updating the kernel.
Maybe a kernel developer is able to find that piece of code.
Edit: That would also be a reason why they pushed the Oneplus 3T shortly after the Oneplus 3, hoping that the "small" amount of Oneplus 3 users wouldn't find out...

Yes, the manufacturer can modify the firmware to limit the PMIC to 2500mAh discharge only. This would probably save us quite a few cycles, not letting the battery dip below 3.5V.
What this means is that while we get a slightly lesser battery life (let's not forget, the lower the battery voltage, the faster the discharge, meaning the first 20% of your battery will last 2.5x longer than the last 20%!), at the price of prolonging the battery for about 20-25% longer. And this would mean you would need to charge 1.2 times more to diminish the effects of this change. So unless you started charging twice a day instead of once, from 0 to 100%, it should last longer on the long run, and last a bit less during the day.
OP not communicating this, however, is a big red flag.

they all are arent they.? i mean i think its a 3200 battery. not 4000mah.. not sure if they can produce bigger capacity without battery getting bigger. sometimes they just claime higher mah but they are not.

Almost anything that claims more battery capacity while keeping the same design is most likely to be fake. I'd recommend getting an actual extended battery which is bigger than stock such as powerbear or zerolemon.

yes not sure why.. but its same some claim 2600mah when they are lower mah. or build quality. not sure why it AA AAA same size but they are nickel metal hydred this are lipos and i know that the more mah they change in chape or tickness.
i used to use lipos for rc helicopters back in the days. specially in the micro helis.
Hello, I recently received a brand new U11 to test drive and I depleted it and my HTC 10 which I have owned for 15 months. I then use a USB meter and my HTC 10 only charged to 81% of what the U11 charged to.
81% of 3000mAh = 2430mAh
Just some fun facts for those of us who have used the phone for an extended period of time or what to expect if you plan on owning it for this length of time.

@RogerF81 I agree its nothing special in my results; batteries are supposed to degrade overtime. It just using a device with 2430mAh is VERY noticeable.
Imagine buying a high end spec device with only 2430mAh. lol

When I do your test, I get Full charge: 3049000, does that mean it's 100 % (I don't have a USB meter) ? I have owned my HTC 10 for about 13 months.

Nope, that tests implies you never reset your phone and never erased battery stats, which most people on XDA have every time they flash a new ROM. You are probably near the 80-85% capacity mark.
Can you please try accubattery app to see how it's results compare to your more rigorous method. Accubattery states my capacity is 76% or 2277mAh. However it states it will get more accurate over charging cycles. I've had the phone since release day. Now switched off fast charge!

But I did wipe battery stats several times at least (read somewhere it makes no difference) and flashed a RUU (reset) before nougat upgrade..
Accubattery also shows 100 % battery health based on 15 charging sessions
The battery life is atrocious even when new. I am afraid.
Using Accubattery I have an estimated 83% battery capacity, however this phone was replaced in February via Uh-Uh coverage. I broke the screen in my original phone and they gave me a replacement unit (To me it seems this was the case since the exterior was flawless again and I was given a phone with a new IMEI). It has been 6 months and I don't think I am such a heavy user to have degraded the battery that fast, does anybody think this might be resolved by taking the phone back for warranty? I even wonder if it is possible at this point :/ (My original 10 was bought may 2016 practically at launch) Thanks!

Good would just mean the battery is functioning. You could only have 50 percent of your cells left and it would still say "Good".

I used AccuBattery and got 80% or 2,397mAh for estimated capacity, so my previous math was correct.

hold it between 20 and 80 then u got a good battery health... mine is 2644mah(accubattery)

I have heard of doing something like this before, and obviously you're degradation is smaller than mine by a bit. But that is just another extra several steps to take. Forcing myself to check the phone to see if it charged to 80% is a pain and then on many days I dont know how much i will use my phone, so charging it to 80% defeats the purpose of a larger battery. Hopefully once I replace my battery I can go another year without any major battery issues.
I have a question since i stumble upon a 4000 mah battery while online shopping yesterday (BN31 the same code with the original MiA1 battery). Is it ok/safe installing this kind of battery? (The battery are not manufactured by Xiaomi)
As long as the ratings are the same as the Xiaomi mi a1's battery it's safe to replace them. But the longevity of them depends on the quality

Most likely the 4000 rating is false, China manufacturers are well known for this.
I received the "chensuper" battery. I've swapped mine with the new one but in cpuz shows 3080 mah like the old one.

It's the same (shame) capacity of the official one so there are not improves on that. But for the price it's a good replacement.

For me there is a bit of improvement but still I'll suggest that you stick with the original battery since mine bloated up due to heavy usage and frequent discharging and charging of the battery. With the original battery, it already reaching its 2 years of life time now since first bought and it need a change of new battery now because the capacity is way to low to even last a half day. :laugh:
I have bought a 5000mah bn31 battery from the brand Losoncoer. When arrived the packaging said 6400mah. I can surely say that after 3 and a half months its capacity is exactly the half of the stated one. Around 3200 mah. But it takes much more time to charge, so I advise everyone to buy original Xiaomi replacement parts.

The moral of the story is, you should always buy genuine parts. Because batteries are typical piece of work. The manufacturing used by the OEM is robust compared to the local ones. So its always far better to buy underived ones. Other stuff like display, digitizer can be taken from third party vendor. But for batteries always choose OEM one.
For me it is still usable, but it has far worse screen on time, so yeah buy genuine batteries.
Altough in my mi a1 the usb-c port died the 4th time in the last 2 years, they always lasted half a year, no matter if i bought genuine part for Replacement or not?

I have no idea at all. At first it will throw away charge at random times. Later it develops worse contact problems. It starts to only charge slowly and at the very end it could only take up charge if I apply force on it sideways.
I charge my phone every night. I used the original cable but lately i am using a blitzwolf branded one.
I have friends whose phone's port only needed a cleaning, but it does not help mine.
