Question regarding Galaxy S3

Hi I am planning on purchasing the Palm TouchStone wireless charging kit for my S3 i747m from eBay
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/281051460427...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Does anyone who have the mod or an eBay kit tell me if the magnet attachment is on the TouchStone charger or is it on the Phone battery cover or both?
Also, how fast does it charge with the TouchStone?
Does it overheat after charging for a long time?
Does the TouchStone charger "turn off" or switch to "tinkle charging" after the phone is fully charged?
Any answers to my question would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I would look for a touchstone forum or review site for answers, not here, bro. There is an accessories thread you could possibly get an answer in.
I had seen a YouTube video where someone did this to their s3! Check there!

I see, I will take a gamble and buy it... rated at ~500mAh with coil and charger directly aligned.
With my Otterbox Commuter case, I think the charging should not be affected too much (my guess is around 480mAh-490mAh)
This is because the Touchstone, like the Qi, is using EMR for coil and charger transmission/receiving. The only different is that Qi and Touchstone operate at different frequencies and the coil designs might be slightly different to have either slightly better range or better efficiency.
From my experience with Wacom tablets (Intuos, Bamboo) and Wacom integrated tablets (Galaxy Note 10.1, Note 1/2, Tablet PCs, Cintiqs etc)
The pen can hover even with an overlay sheet or a pane of glass over it.. The hovering range is around 5-7mm depending on how thick the surface cover is.
Hopefully the charger has a built in tinkle charging mode and a auto shut off mode (the phone power management should have this)
Also hopefully it does not overheat the phone when it is charging through my Otterbox Commuter case.

The Note 10.1 2014 Edition doesn't support wireless charging.
I know. Thats the reason why I opened this thread in the accessories forum.

If you know it does not why would you start a thread? It makes no sense. It does not have a removable battery cover so there is no way to add wireless charging without hardware modifications.

Ok, thats new for me. But there is one chance. There could be a case with qi Receiver and usb connector or if it has pins for a docking station then with connection to them.

Have you popped the back cover off to see if the pins are there?
If they are then a modded qi receiver would work great.
I do not own the Note 10.1. Thats the reason why I'm asking dumb questions.
For the Note 8 someone added a Qi Receiver with USB connector and hide it under a case.

He is not talking about taking the back cover off. He is talking about a case that has a plug that goes into the existing charge port of the tablet and there is a wireless charging coil within the case itself.
No, I have not seen any.
Yes, I do want one.
Does the Note 10.1 2014 has Connectors for a Docking Station? If yes, this would be an option to realize it without using an usb connector.

It does not have docking pins.
I, too, would love to add wireless charging capabilities to the Note.
I read a story on the iQi Mobile - Seamless Wireless Charging For iPhone and tried to find a similar product for micro usb ports. I came across a possible alternative but don't have any experience with the website/seller of the product.
(sorry, can't post links yet, remove spaces or search Google for "netimes Qi Standard Universal Wireless Charging Adapter for Samsung Micro-USB Connector")
www .netimes.com/shop/qi-standard-universal-wireless-charging-adapter-for-samsung-microusb-connector-p-4963 .html
Do you guys think something like this would work?
One disadvantage would be that you would have to unplug the cable to use a regular charging cable, but I think I could live with that.
in my opinion this seems legit and ok.
Of course it's annoying to remove the cable everytime, but for having wireless charging
l already thought about this on my HTC Eo 3D but did not want to spend too much money on that since it is no Must-have in my opinion.

www .amazon.com/Walsontop-Wireless-Platform-Charging-Compatible/dp/B00LC6WGB2 There are still people looking for the holy grail. "Human satisfaction.
you can attach a receiving case to the note 4, so why not the note 10.1 (2014) ?
As Qi supports 15 instead of 5 Watt (since 06/2015), we only need to wait for the next tablet generation. I think in the future we will see Qi on much more tablets.

i think you are looking for this
No, because the quality is poor and it is qi 1.0. I think at the moment there are no qi receiver supporting qi 1.1?! And of course it would be much nicer to have a receiver built-in or under the battery cover.
Am I the only one that doesn't like qi charging? I have it and a pad for my nexus 5 and 7fhd and just don't use it that often. I use my phone often when it's on the charger and qi is much slower than the wire. I just can't see using it
Thats because you're using it wrong. I have 4 Qi pads and they are placed everywhere I stay for a longer time like bed, desk, couch, etc. By that its the most comfortable charging.
And if fast charging is the only reason you need to know that Qi released Version 1.1 with 15 watts (same speed as USB 3.0). But it seems Samsung bought exclusive rights at the moment (Note 5), so we need to wait for other devices supporting it. But I do not miss it.

[Q] Wireless Charging Support Help

Hello,
I have a wireless charging dock and qi recever for my Note II and I'm using Ditto Rom V2. Wireless charging does not work for my mobile, but i tested the dock, it works fine. What is the problem, what do you think ? Is this because of custom rom support ?

Wireless charging does not use NFC. It is not a requirement for wireless charging.

[Q] Q: GTP 8.4 Wireless Charging?

I've been searching the interwebs and went to the Samsung store at Best Buy (mistake) and haven't been able to find a concrete answer.
Does the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 have wireless charging? Qi? Actually any of the new galaxy tab pro line?
The back is not replaceable like other galaxy devices so an aftermarket replacement back with wireless charging is not foreseeable correct?
Thanks for anyone who can help!

It does not have wireless charging. It would take a week to charge it even if it did.
I remember having the Palm Pre wireless charging puck and yes, it was slow. Even doing other things while having it wirelessly charge (watching a movie, playing a game, tethering) would slow the charging rate down to the point where it would actually discharge because the power drain was higher than the charging speed LOL
I had wireless charging on my nexus 7 and loved it. Yes it was slower but it was nice to not have to fiddle with USB cables in the dark. Batteries usually last the day so I just had to put it on at night. If bought 2 Nokia Qi chargers at att when they were on sale for $25. Now they are just collecting dust.

I have a G Pad and have a QI USB wireless charger receiver, basically plugs into USB and stick the coil on the back plate with sellotape haha!
The great thing about this is it can work on phones that don't support QI.
I have got a case off eBay to hide the receiver (it still chargers great) through the case.
I'd say the maximum charge distance was maybe 5 - 7 mm.
It is slow. About 13 - 14% an hour. (Stock was 9%)
I drop it on QI pad at night and its 100% when I get up.
I sometimes put it on when I go out and whatnot. I love it!
I can deal with the charging rate, because its a lot more convenient, I'm one that fiddles with USB cords haha!
Still use USB for phone but converting to full Wireless slowly.

Alternative chargers

Im currently looking for a charging combo where i can put my phone (oneplus 6) and the watch in/on at the same time.
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B06XGC1QGY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This the one i wanna check out, but i dont really know if the apple watch charger works with the galaxy watch or if there is a fitting alternative for this stand..otherwise i have to be creative

I've seen the samsung galaxy charger duo which charges both the phone and the watch, and there are also a couple of alternatives on amazon if you search for duo wireless chargers
One of the main reasons I pre-ordered my Galaxy Watch here in the UK was that it not only came with the standard single wireless charger that everyone gets, but it also came with a free Duo wireless charger! The Duo is OK, though I'm a bit surprised it used micro USB rather than USB C for power and that the section to put your watch on isn't magnetic like the single standard wireless charger is (I guess it's not so critical because its horizontal rather than vertical).
Both charging areas of the Duo have "fast charging" written on them, though is the Galaxy Watch even capable of that? I think the retail price of the Duo (89 pounds in the UK) is scandalously high - it's probably worth about a third of that. Single Qi chargers can be found for 10 pounds or less, so to charge 9 times that for a Duo is ridiculous.
Im guessing your right, but im looking for an alternative that wont charge your phone wireless too (because the op6 hasnt got wireless charging though)
Same here, I have a Nexus5x (and no plan to buy a Samsung phone any time soon).
I might end up 3d printing a stand with usb-c for my phone. I just need to find some good Galaxy Watch charger for that.

That actually seems like a pretty good idea. If you do try and do this, you could share the model you used for the charger. Thanks in advance!

I honestly wouldn't expect an Apple charger to be compatible with anything but Apple.
I was in a Samsung Store and they have the Galaxy Watches on Display on the Chargers that look Great.
I would like to know How and Where and How Much.
How can I find the Samsung Galaxy Watch Charging Display Stand that I can Purchase?
Where is it Available to be able to Purchase?
How Much is the Official Samsung Galaxy Watch Charging Display Stand?
If Anyone Know then Please let Me know.
