Xperia Z1 tempered glass - Xperia Z1 Accessories

Hello, xda community
I want to buy a tempered screen protector for my XPERIA Z1 C6903. In my country I couldn't find any besides Vakoss tempered screen protector 9H. Is there any other parameters to know if it is good enough to protect my screen against scratches? Cause I didn't find any more info on the internet about this protective film. And will it cover the scratches on my factory anti-shatter film currently applied on phone or should I remove it and replace with the film I am going to buy?
Thanks in advance.

I recently purchased a set of tempered glass screen protectors from Glass4M for my Xperia Z1. I chose to remove the ASF from both the front and back before applying the protectors, as my ASF was already quite scratched. It seems to be fine but only time will tell.

I ordered Nillkin's 9H+ tempered glass from amazon.de 9 months ago it still is in almost fine condition (not mentioning a small crack on top, which does not fall in view so much) even the anti-fingerprint layer didn't come off yet, but I am going to order another one because of that crack and because I didn't remove the ASF film before applying the tempered glass and can see the ASF scratches in direct sunlight

I removed ASF and using MTT 9H and its working superfine.. not even a single scratch in last 7 months

Tempered Glass pros and cons vs Film screen protectors?

What the pros and cons of tempered glass screen protector vs a Film screen protector?
My concern about the Tempered glass is that :
--it's adhesive is only on the bezel area and since phones today have smaller bezel so it might get detached easily
--Tempered Glass might scratch the glass beneath it
--If adhesive of the Tempered glass became less sticky Dust might accumulate inside
So can you tell me your experience with tempered glass screen protector? I really want to hear from someone who used this screen protector for long time and not on these reviews on youtube since they only used it on the time they review it.
And also does anyone tried using combination of Film and T.glass protectors?
I also second this. Anyone that has this screen protector please respond.

I just found out that Spigen is selling a new type of tempered Glass screen protector it is "GLAS.T" it's different from the old one. This new one is all transparent and has adhesive all through-out the back part of the screen protector, unlike the old one which has paint on the borders and only adhesive on the painted area.
Spigen has GLAS.T for Note 1 Anyone that used the product for about 5-6 months now?

I have a tempered glass screen protector for my Note 3 and it fits and works perfectly. It's been on my phone for 2 months now. Not a single scratch to it and no peeling or dust accumulation at all. I would recommend one any time over a plastic protector. I got mine from a company called fasttech. They are very cheap compared to UK sellers and the company is very reliable even considering that they are Chinese.
Tempered glass has an adhesive throughout the whole surface, not only the bezel/perimeter area.
The difference is very simple. If you want scratch protection, get a film screen protector, but make sure to get quality PET 3H hardness film like the one sold by iSmooth and Spigen. Cheap ebay stuff is thin, will scratch, will bubble after some time, and will have rainbow effect under the florescent light. If you want ultimate shatter protection - get tempered glass. On impact the glass will shatter without affecting your display. Spigen and Seidio makes some of the best ones. I'm personally a big fan of Seidio VITREO and been using it on my Note 2 for a very long time.
for LG g2 temperate glass or we don't have to buy anything
I use the tempered glass for the LG G2, i think its better than a film protector.
No bubbles nothing, very clean. if you dont look at the edges u wont see there is a protector.

i've really no bubbles, just use the type method to remove bubles cause by dust.
the cons is that film protector changes a bit the polarization of my glass so it has more strange effect on very high view angle

The advantages of T. glass over films are the following.
-. Scratch - (almost)free : sellers boast it is harder than stock display, but I don't agree with. Glass screen protector also gets scratch.
-. Superb feeling : yes. its feeling is real better even stock display including any premium film. http://vimeo.com/91463403
-. Bubble -Free : Yes. it is easy to install and you don't worry about bubble.
Disadvantages
-. Price : $5~40 : I have tried $5 and 40 as well. I don't recommend both $5 and $40. you can find good one between them.
-. Thickness :0.15~0.4mm : Compared to film, it is bulky. Sometimes it won't be compatible with certain cases. (I don't recommend too thin one, since it is easy to brake before doing its protection job)
i have used a glass screen protector for the last month until it broke when i dropped my phone from hip height. i am extremely satisfied by the product. as it is rigid, it is very easy to apply and in contrast with plastic film protectors, the tempered glass lets your fingers glide on the screen. i was also impressed by the fact that after 1 month's use my phone had zero scratches, even though i was kind of provoking scratches by the way i was handling the phone. never going back to plastic film, not a slight chance there.
I've run a gauntlet recently with screen protectors and cases with my galaxy s7 edge. I can definitely tell you the pros and cons between tempered glass and soft film screen protectors.
Tempered glass pros- much sturdier, better scratch resistance, looks better. Easier to install. Longer field life. Better phone protection all around.
Tempered glass cons: some cases won't work with tempered glass unless it has a top that fully covers the glass. Dust buildup under screen protector, less sensitivity- much less. Won't work with an otterbox symmetry because the sides and front push the glass up and out but does work with the defender because the defender covers the edge of the screen. If sand or dirt gets underneath glsss, it could scratch up your screen. Very thick too.
PET film pros- better sensitivity, will work with any phone case. Sturdy enough for the most part. No issues with dust buildup under the cover. Works with any case and has better adherence. Very thin.
PET cons- they look cheap and scratch more easily than tempered glass and you can tell that the phone has a screen protector. Harder to install. The protector scratches but the phone screen doesn't. Shorter field life.
Personally, I prefer PET film screen protectors to tempered glass but to be fair, I have an edge phone and glass screen protectors with edge phones can be more finicky than flat phones. Glass looks better, but aside from drop protection and looks, they don't keep the dirt out and can be a chore with the wrong kind of cases, or simply won't work.
I think film is much more versatile and I'm willing to trade some aesthetics in favor of usability. That's my 2 cents on both types of screen protectors based on recent experience.

And liquid bubbles with soft cases go away in a few days. Air must be popped and dust must be removed physically but moisture does dry out. You can tell a moisture bubble because it has rainbow swirls if you view the phone on a screen with a white background.
Don't try to iron out small moisture bubbles or press them out. They go away on their own within a week and if you mess with them you can bend your soft screen protector out of shape or get divot lines.
Also, if the soft screen protector has the oleophobic coating, it does work very well, in fact it's almost if not better about prints and crap on the screen than actual glass screens. Plus, tempered glass can be a problem on certain phones.
My friend has a note 5 with a tempered glass screen protector and he dropped his phone (no case) so instead of the screen shattering, the back of the phone did. Protectors work, but if you have a glass coated phone- better have a case on it.

Screen Protector Thin Film for OP2

I need the original screen protector thin film for op2 just as it comes with mobile officially. Can anybody suggest me such a screen protector coz tempered glass is bulky but this thin protector is awesome.
Thanks.
How about the original oneplus two screen protector.
http://www.amazon.in/OnePlus-2-Prem...&sr=8-4&keywords=oneplus+two+screen+protector
I know its costly but this is either the one that comes by default or can only be better.
or buy the Nillkin Tempered Glass 9H + Pro. Normal screen protectors have 0.1mm, stock tempered glasses have 0.3mm and this one has 0.2mm. Most of my friends think it's a non tempered glass because of how thin it is, and it is pretty protective.
The plastic screen protectors are a waste of time. They scratch in few weeks and definitely doesn't protect you touch from breaking if dropped. Better go for the glass screen protectors.

Nillkin Tempered Glass Quality

Hi! I'm planning on purchasing a tempered glass screen protector from Nillkin and I want to know about its quality. Have any of you guys here used it?
I am on my 2nd now - 1st one cracked in half after I dropped the the phone face down.
Phone did not have a scratch on it so I would say it did its job.

Screen Protector or Tempered Glass

I have ordered OnePlus 5T and it will be delivered in 2 days. I want to know that is it compulsory to apply screen protector or tempered glass? Or it will be find without it?
OP 5T comes with preapplied screen protector that is good enough quality for me, at least until it scraches
I applied a tempered glass protector to mine and am regretting it. I have now ordered a plastic protector to replace the glass ASAP. If I had known before, I would have kept the OnePlus plastic on!
Same for me, the OEM tempered glass is the worst I've ever seen, If I knew I never changed the plastic that was not perfectly installed but at least it won't have the corners with some parts without glue and now it looks with bubbles in that corners
Really? Is the official tempered glass screen protector bad? Going by videos I've watched people seem to really like it.
So, I am guessing there is no need to apply any screen protector or tempered glass as screen protector is already preapplied . Right?
Correct!
I regret that I pilled off pre-applied screenprotector. All current TGSP are garbage. If protection is you concern, do not pill off pre-applied screenprotector and order decent case from Spigen.
Thanks mate

Question Screen protector

Hello,
i ordered bmy ZF3 a few days ago.
Which screen protector do you recommend?
i am looking for a tempered glass for the front facing display.
Screen protectors are usually crap (or all rate the same in terms of breaking(gorilla glass / tampered is usually a better option but if you really want to keep our screen and phone safe use a very thick padded generic folding cover it'll feel like youre carrying a brick in your pockect but your phone will be safe with 2 floors of fall damage (the indian shops in South Africa) usually have them but making a custom one is best it
**mustn't be too thick to put too much pressure on the screen when cover is closed**
I am currently using the whitestone dome tempered glass on the front. Works well. But seems to attract fingerprints.
I can second Whitestone dome ez protector on front. Finger prints doesn't seem to be a problem for me though
Assume U take off the existing front protector first correct?

To be honest in my perception for foldable devices the temper glasses are worst choice, since they are not flexible as screen protectors so there might be a chance of damaging your display. Its preferable to choose screen protector which is a thin film and works well for foldable

I believe he is just talking about using tempered glass on the front/outer screen. I don't see why that would be an issue. My tempered glass screen protectors for the front screen are arriving today and I can't wait to get the stock one off.

Using temper glass for Foldable devices is a bit risky I feel, there might be a chance of damaging the display while folding with tempers on. So I prefer screen protectors which are thin, flexible and its safer comparing to screen protectors. Also I've been using my S20 Fe with gadgetshieldz screen protectors on it for months and it works well.

Again, as was just stated in reply to your last comment, he's talking about using tempered glass for the OUTSIDE screen, NOT the folding one. There is no tempered glass screen protector for the folding display.

But it's not a tempered glass screen protector.
AGAIN, mobile freak said he wanted a tempered glass screen protector for the FRONT FACING SCREEN. Not the inner folding screen.
Seancannery88 just keeps replying that he doesn't recommend a tempered glass screen protector for the folding display.
And tempered glass screen protectors do NOT exist for the folding display. One with ultra thin glass (not tempered glass) does.
