Does anyone know if this can be installed on encrypted phones? I'd hate to go through a wipe, update, and reinstall again for a minor update.

And the answer is, yes - this can be installed while the phone is encrypted.

Yes, mine's encrypted and the update worked fine.

Is this the software I been hearing about that you can't revert back to 4.4

I wonder how the battery is? I remember I had great battery on the first LP update, then a minor update came and battery went to hell..

dont notice any difference between COC4 and COC5. I dont know have the changelog but nothing noticeable. Not that I was expecting anything with such a minor update.

This is what I found

I can't update. All i can get is "Software update interrupted , software up to date please try in 24 hours". Anybody capture this update so i can push by ADB ? or any other idea ?( i push date 5 day forward and same message).

This update fixed the call forwarding issue between my note 4 and my Gear s. Before this update, going to the phone app, then settings, then call forwarding resulted in a sim card error and wouldn't let me enable it. Now, I don't get the error.

Can anyone confirm odin roll back if we take this update. Anyone?

This update fixed my issues with newly activated VoLTE service in my area. Before I was experiencing issues where my voice would not transmit for about 10 seconds or more and people could not hear me, however, I could hear them perfectly. This was frustrating in business calls. The update remedied this situation for me. No more VoLTE issues even without a factory reset.

@Venom0642
??????

All these scared people who want others to take every update and try it out first for them (newsflash... no 2 people have exactly the same usage patterns). I'm sure you could tell me every single time someone posted about battery life, etc and how every update has ruined someone. Those are the extreme exception take the risk let it update. Do a full cache wipe after the update, always a good idea anyways, and deal with it.
90% or more of phones that broke via update are user driven issues. "I'm rooted, I use home made charger cables, have 128 gig worth of apps installed, have my screen set to stay on full bright all day long, and keep my phone underwater, and that update is killing my battery life"

OK, Here you guys can talk about what you miss about root or current conspiracy theories (Is he a troll or isn't he?). You can talk about the latest movies, the plots of Gotham or The Flash, your cat or dog...whatever you want within the rules..meaning behave and be nice. We can change the title of the thread once you hopefully get root. So let the Root Progress thread be for those subscribed to root talk, and let it be a more on topic thread...you guys got this thread...and who said you can't have nice things? You can if you take care of them. Have fun all!!!!

I just want to say thanks to all the devs working on root. I just want to make sure of something. Has it been confirmed that we can revert from 5.0 to 4.4.4 with odin? I would like to take the update to play with 5.0, but I want to make sure I can revert when root it achieved.

Build number was updated. Most of us were having modem issues such as dropping calls so Samsung gave us this update to take care of that. It was a software problem. I got the same update. Thanks. It was 128MB.
I'm shocked Sprint was the first to push the update. I'm on tmobile and flashed the international update and didn't notice any difference, but I haven't really had any issues to begin with.

Just got it at as well. Glad to see Sprint / Samsung staying on top of things.
was anyone able to pull the update!?
Does it solve the RAM issue and standby issue?
Fyi. Twrp doesn't work on new update. Had to flash back.
Earlier today I had a crash of the radios and shortly thereafter android. I had to reboot to get back up and running with cell service. I had just installed the update a few hours previous. Hopefully it was just a fluke.
Anyone know if the update was software only or if it included an updated radio? I forgot to check versions. I assume only android software.
Haven't found a change log anywhere....BUT my battery drain isn't nearly as bad before the update ftw
I've always had pretty good battery life, but my data reception at work was terrible before the update. Not sure if an update radio was included since i didnt check before, but my signal has become much much better since the update.

If you go in to system updates through the settings and check for the update, you have 3 options, No Thanks, Download Later, and Download Now.
If you click No Thanks, the alert goes away. It will even state in the system update app that the last update (on June 30th, 2105) failed.
Download later allows you to choose a time that better suits you.
And of course Download Now, starts the process right now.
Hope this helps.
When i go to system update all i have is update now or later. I don't get the no thanks option.

Yes, waiting to d/load it later today.
From Droid-Life:
An update is rolling out for the LG G4 on Verizon, bringing a few features to owners, but nothing all that special. The software version is labeled as VS98611A.
Included is an enhanced Folio display while a call is taking place, an updated consistency for displaying contacts and non-contacts in the Dialer app, and an enhanced Advanced Calling feature. That’s it.

Is video calling feature??
just happened to check while sitting in a meeting.. started the update and came here for news... currently sitting at 55% so we'll see how it goes.
I think this is the longest I have ever left a phone stock and unrooted..
Hmm. Don't know if it's worth to unroot for this..
Xtrestolite 2.3 has live streaming and app/people edge... As for the icons I use Nova with an icon pack...
Xtrestolite has a video calling too but don't know if it will work.. Never worked for me before...
Only reason I'm not using xtrestolite is don't have VoLTE and WiFi calling... ? ? ?
Very nice update low ram usage and best performance than cof8
Live broadcast is available via the camera app...

Update to nougat or no?

Just received my Z Play (it feels so much better than I expected)
It came with 6.0.1 installed. Do I bother updating? Or should I stick to MM?
If I do update, should I wipe afterwards?
You may lose volte after that.
What even is that?... I don't think I've ever used it.
Why would updating to nougat (officially) cause that?
Google VoLTE (voice over LTE). You may use it without knowing it. You shouldn't lose, could be opposite..
Some people say that mm has better battery life. I don't know, I've upgraded on the very first day when I bought it. Phone will bother you to accept update anyway...

Moto has never been friendly for downgrading. Moto wants you do go only in one direction, up.

You can't revert by yourself.
Also in 7.1.1 there is auto brightness lag and audio equaliser is not working (fixed in some channels, not reteu atm).
Motorola fu**ed up 7.1.1 upgrade, do not want to admit they did and I recommend to stay away until it will be fixed.
Only help you can get about those issues from Motorola are: "clear cache" and "factory reset"
Pathetic customer support.

It is great phone, no doubt, but...
I bought it because VOLTE among others. It was working till I updated to 7.1.1 and it works no more.
In 7.1.1 equaliser is not working for reteu channel. No biggie for me, I use Poweramp.
Brightness lag is nasty bug. For example: I go from bright area to darkness, it is 8-9 seconds and phone is adjusting backlight. That should be immediately like in my other Android phones.
Hardware is fine, but software developer department sucks and they don't react.
Mike
None of those things would both me really, but I'll stay on 6.0.1 for now
Well, brightness adjustment should have some delay. Maybe not 8-9 seconds but for sure should not jump up and down for every environment change.
As far I can see VoLTE works for me.

Stock rom, locked bl, August security patch, retus didn't get latest patch yet.
As you can see, I was in roaming. Now in different country, again roaming and VoLTE is still provisioned.
VoLTE could depends of your mobile provider, sim card, roaming agreement and of course, phone. Looks like that phone is not problem.

My network does support volte because my previous phone was a lenovo p2 also rooted and running a custom rom and i had no issues with volte. I just cant figure this out. I did read somewhere it may have something to do with baseband version but im not prepared to mess around with that.
