1st time rooted and now need help please - Verizon LG G4

Hi every one, I have an LG LC34 android phone, did the root and all was pretty awesome. I was using an app named Freedom and then Google play services somehow got forced stopped..could not find help on forcing it back to start. I was told to do a factory reset which I did, but I didn't know at first I was supposed to have un installed Freedom first, now everything is worse with Google. I can't get any of the services to work, I've already tried updating Google play, wiped out all the caches, all the data, rebooted..please help..

Google play store keep returning error

I am on jedix12 and no matter how many times I try to update an app it refuses to download and returns error code RPC:S-5:AEC-0. It dies when updating, trying to look at the all section in the my apps page, or if i uninstall an app and try to reinstall. A fresh install of a app works just fine. I have tried does what is available on google. Erase google account, restart, open play, add account. Didn't work. I do not know what else i can do. I also completely erased the phone. data, sdcard, system, and cache.

I found this website with Google but still did not work. I don't think it is directly related to the rom because its been doing this with all the roms I flash. I even formatted the system partition but nothing changed. It seems to be related to the Google account. I do not have a second phone to test this theory (Have ubuntu on my galaxy nexus). Has anyone had this issue before?
Try going to settings/applications manager and clear data&cache. If that doesn't work, go to accounts/google and remove account. Then resign in
This did not work. It actually started crashing. I rebooted then the crashing went away but still didn't fix the issue.

Download the new 4.0 playstore i posted the the apps section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2227852 Did you remove your google account >>> reboot then sign in again?
Yes I remove, reboot, and signed back in. It had the same issue. I just finished install this new play store but it still did not work. I'm going to try to completely format the phone again (data, system, sdcard, and cache). Maybe I made a mistake somewhere. Ill return the results.
The results were negative. The market is still giving the same error. Im going to fix my nexus back to android and then, if it doesn't give me the same issue i will flash the stock ROM onto the note two and see if that fixes it.
I installed cyangoen mod onto the nexus and it turns out that it is doing the on that phone too so its something related to the google account.
EDIT:
Turns out that this is related to the account after all. I called up the markets customer support and they said it was happening to a few other people. They said they would fix it. Thank you all for the help.

[Q] Help! Need apk for original version of Android Market on Play

OK, I recently rooted my Play after promising myself to do it for about a year. I installed link2sd and was delighted to start moving stuff to my SD and freeing up internal memory which was perpetually flagging 'danger leve'l at around 38 megs free.
However, I got a bit over-zealous. I was trying to move the Play marketplace but failing - due to it being an system app that had had updates applied. I cleared the updates and converted to a user app, moving it to the SD too. Now though, it had reverted back to the original 'Android Marketplace' of course. So I thought I'd do a reboot to get it to update.
However, after rebooting it didn't seem to want to update again as I had hoped it would. No problem, I thought, and sourced a Google Play .apk (com.android.vending-4.0.27.apk) and installed it.
This seemed to work, as the Google Play store dutifully installed. All seemed well ... until I tried to install an app. As the download began, It promptly crashed with the message "The application Google Play Store (process com.android.vending) has stopped completely. Please try again."
This then happened every time I tried to launch it. Some searching suggested I try clearing the cache and data and sure enough this allows the store app to run again - however every time I try to download something it just causes the crash.
Obviously I've corrupted the installation somehow and need to get back to the original Marketplace app and try to get it to update itself. However, being a dumbass even though I had bought Ti Backup (with pro) I hadn't bothered to do a proper system backup :silly:
Anyone know where I can source an .apk that will give me the original Marketplace back again? I don't want to have to unlock the bootloader and flash a system image which is the only sure way I can think to fix it (I'm pretty sure that a factory reset will just clear the /data partition and won't do anything with the /system apps, which is what I have screwed up).
Thanks to anyone who can help me overcome my stupidity :good:

You don't need to unlock your bootlader to flash a system image. Sony PC Companion will flash the latest system image available on Sonys servers to your handset. This is what I would do. Next time don't move/delete anything integral to Android from your phone.
Cheers! Hadn't really used the Sony software much but will definitely give that a go. Next time I'll do a full Titanium backup too, before I start tinkering...
Strange that you'd even have this issue. I instantly Link2SD'ed all of Google's stuff... the play store updates, google settings and even Google's hidden services got the "get off my damn phone storage" treatment and have done a good job at bending over and doing whatever I tell them to.

Good news - I was about to reflash the system but on a hunch decided to remove the 'Google Play Services' package and my store magically started downloading apps again!
I'm guessing that there was some sort of conflict between the two. According to the description in the store;
"Google Play services is used to update Google apps and apps from Google Play. This component gives you access to Google Settings and helps apps speed up offline searches, provide more immersive maps, and improve performance.
Apps may not work if you uninstall Google Play services. You probably need this component."
Hmmm, everything so far seems to be working and a number of updates went through since removing it so I'll wait and see. Maybe the store will install a compatible version itself at some point, when it updates next.

root access with Link2SD is an absolute must for the Xperia - it's the best thing I've done to my XP since I got it and should have rooted/installed it as soon as I heard about it.
It totally transforms the usability of the Xperia Play. What on earth were Sony thinking giving the phone such a paltry amount of usable memory?!!!

Help with Play Store error!

Hello I am new to this forum, hope this is the right place to post this,
I have a Rooted Galaxy S4 Mini, and I had a custom patch of the Play Store installed, but I just hated the icon and didnt notice any difference between the custom patch and the original version of the Play Store so I decided to go back to the original one and uninstalled the Custom one and installed the regular play store and when I did, I opened it and it started loading and showed me the Terms of Service once more but suddenly the little window with the Terms disappeared and the Play Store froze. Soon after it just crashed and a message saying it had stopped appeared. And this just repeats itself everytime I try to open it, It wont even let me tap accept or decline. I tried installing previous versions of the Play store and the same thing happens, tried clearing cache & data and reboot, didnt work, tried clear cache, data, then force stop and reboot and got nothing. tried doing this to Google Play Services, services framework and play store, nothing. I even tried uninstalling updates of Google Play services and all of this steps again. But nothing. And yes, my download manager is enabled. I was so desperate I decided to back everything up with Titanium backup and then I did a factory reset. When it turned on and I configured it, there was no Play Store in my apps. So I manually installed ES File Explorer and Titanium backup to restore my phone and my backup wasnt there unfortunately so I installed Play Store manually too and I got the same error! And now I got to personalize everything again and download all the stuff I had back in so it would be nice to at least get the Play Store working again, please help me!
Sorry for long post please give me some of your time and help me
Thanks
Are you on stock rom? Are you using the GT-I9195 LTE model?
I am on Stock ROM, and I have a GT-I9195L Model its supposed to be LTE I think.
It seems my problem has been solved! Thank god!
I updated all my apps through Aptoide and the play store too, somehow that fixed my problem even though it was the same version.
Thanks

[Q] Stuck and lost with Google Play Services - unable to update, please help

Symptoms
Google Play Services Error - receiving a message " An Application Requires and Update"
when trying to use "Update" , I get "Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again"
when trying to "Deactivate" i get "This app is a device administrator and must be deactivated before uninstalling"
this is now affecting other apps (Google Keep, Hangouts, etc)
I talked to Google already ,cleared download manager, did factor reset twice, no avail, same issue. their recommendation is to contact Asus
Yesterday I unlocked and rooted the tablet, same issue.
Any suggestions? I downloaded "com.google.android.gms.apk" but the system does not let me install it
Thank you in advance , I am stuck for over 3 weeks
You can try going into the Google Play Services app, then force stop, clear cache and clear data. This may do it.
What you may need to do, what I've had to do, is delete the Google account off your device, then add it back. (A reboot in between couldn't hurt.) Why this happens, I don't know.
I suggest to flash a factory image, may be, there is something destroyed in the firmware ...
Just wondering....

I am not sure that I have any clever answers right now, but to clarify the problem, is this with Google Play itself not letting you update or install anything (without producing this error message) or is it a specific app that you are trying to update which is the only one resulting in this error?

It is both
a) Google Play Services require an update (which refuses to install)
b) com.google.android.keep (Google Keep) requires an update (otherwise not letting to open -" This app won't run unless you update Google Play Services"). when trying to update it takes you to the same screen for Google Play Services update which fails.
If it helps, the store shows me 4.0.34 section under "What's new" which I think is not the latest Google Play Services apk
Thank you
tried both...

I tried both (multiple times), as installed by Google Support and forums
a) removal of all accounts
b) reset to factory image.
c) force stop, cache/data clear
same issues
any other thoughts guys? is custom ROM by only answer?
if it helps, this is an LTE tablet
How about this?

I tried that too.. with noresults - may be not doing it right.
Used Wugs Nexus Root Toolkit (which I find to be excellent along with instructions) and tried to use ES file explorer to manually copy/load apk - no success.
thank you for trying to help

At this point I'd make backups and flash a new ROM (stock or custom LTE). Something's been corrupted that isn't easily fixable, and you'll save time in the end by starting over from scratch.
I would agree that it sounds very much like something is corrupt in the ROM that you currently have; I would have a browse through the appropriate forums and find a new flavour of ROM to flash onto your device.
I have also heard great things about Wug's toolkit but have yet to use it myself.... about all I *need* to change on my N7 right now is root so that I can install a few choice apps that would not run otherwise, but don't want to wipe everything just for the sake of it
removed google+ from my account, solved.

for all its worth, I solved it by reflushing factory image and removing google plus entry from my google account. no issues now. thanks to all who helped!
If that is what worked, I am glad you have a working solution I can't take any credit for suggesting what you had probably tried anyway.....

Simply had to run the update from
the play store on the web
and click on installed, choose device and click install... voila
this pushed the update to the phone and the update happens

Google app crash

Hi, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I decided to update Google Play Services on my G4 (android 6, stock rom) and since then, all Google apps (gmail, google keep, google play store,...) keep crashing.
I downloaded Google Play Services 8.7.03 on apkmirror and I chose the variant 440 (arm64 + arm, android 6.0+ and nodpi)
I can't deactivate or uninstall Google Play Services and I wish there is another option than restoring the entire phone...
Try a few different versions of Play Services?
Hi, thanks for your answer.
I've called a friend who also has a G4 (android 6) and asked him what is his version of Google Play Services. He has the 8.7.03 (variant: 440), the exact version I manually installed.
I saw on forums that I could try to delete my google accounts (which I did, but Google apps are still crashing and now I have a notification telling me I have to link the phone to a gmail account, but I can because Google Play Services crashes all the time).
I also tried to reboot, clear the app's data, uninstall all updates and reinstall the right version,... but still crashing.
I'll try one last time everything I've already tried and if it doesn't work, I'm afraid I'll have to reset to factory settings...
Can you just reflash the system partition and not touch user data? I think that might work.
Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
Reflash? Do I need root for that? My phone is not rooted (but I was just wondering if there is a way to root the G4 under android 6 without touvhing the bootloader)
Update: I reset to factory settings, now I have to get everything back on the phone.
One advice: never manually install Google Play Services, I've read loads of people commenting that they had the same kind of trouble.
Even if you install the right version (the version I manually installed was the exact same than my friends')
