High "Cell Standby" battery consumption - Sony Xperia ZL

Dear All,
I have this annoyance issue about high cell standby in idle time upto 90%, normally screen will eat most battery,
I search through forum and try to apply some tips but not work
exp: disable wifi auto scan, turn off wifi, forget network and clearcache ... and install AndroPlusMod (tick fix cell standby problem but then i cann't make any outgoing call, dial pad not response)
and also use "App Ops " to disable auto wake up but not work. It's only ok if i toggle the "air plain" mode
So Did anyone successfully fix this issue ? pls share with me and i think others will be applicable for their fone.
My device : Xperia ZL C6506, Android Lollipop 5.0.2
Brs

Known issues hovering all over older z series on lollipop. My friend has same .He tried factory reset.Firmware reapair ;now even worse.Battery is draining so fast during standby.
Batter rollback to older firmware if i were you. This is killing our old device.

Install better battery stats to see what is your problem, after installing that, instal amplify to block whatever is consuming battery
my battery after that last even 2 day if i dont play or stay all day on the phone

Same issue on CM12.1 (Android 5.1.1 - 2015-07-15).
Only solution so far is a reboot.

It´s a android bug and reaches all lollipop devices (not only sony).
You can see a bug report here:
https://code.google.com/p/android-developer-preview/issues/detail?id=2556
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=165558
I´ve got the same problem.
After turning mobile data off, i turn on wifi and reboot the phone. then you can turn off wifi and it´s ok.

Dialer using large amount of battery after update on Gingerbread

As said in title, I have a problem after updating to Gingerbread. In battery use it says that Dialer is using about 20% of battery. Does anyone else have this problem and are there any solutions for it?
I have this problem too, i opened another thread, btw i made a factory reset but the problem is still present.
I think that there aren't solution now, because htc in this new 2.3.3 rom change the radio,
i forced mine to only wcdma mode and disabled always-on mobile data.also i disabled best wi-fi performance when wifi is enabled.also when mobile data is switched on, i turn off wifi and vice versa. far now it is much better. if anyone do like me, pls tell me if is any improvement for you.

Perhaps leaving wcda always active will consume more than ever to leave gsm mode?
However disabling always-on mobile data in 2g/3g settings menu, your apps and widgets are updated automatically?
when i leave only wcdma, i think will consume less power because it didnt try always and always to switch to better signal (from 2g to 3g and vice versa).i have only weather auto update on and i didnt noticed any change .

Now i have only GSM mode, btw i can try to disable always on mobile data keep active in the 2g/3g menu and hope that this radio will consume less power.
I thought maybe the problem could be caused by a bug introduced with the new management processes that consume the battery, also because there is the graphic that was not there.
Let me explain:
The details of the processes that consume battery is correct because if I go on "DIALRE" the voice tells me that the CPU has been used only 6 minutes in 20 hours, so little, but shows the % is too high.
Same thing with regard to the voice "Telephone inactive", says it's been idle for less than 20 minutes that I used. but the % is too low.
So it could be a bug that we see that the phone uses too much and we blame the new radio?
Hi everyone
Dialer uses much battery, because it's using the sensors all the time (even with screen off/standby).
You can check that for example in "Battery History for GB" app (you'll find it on xda...)
I wrote some posts about this issue on the ARHD thread in DHD Development (just search for "Dialer" on the thread).
So far no one has a solution... so I guess it's a bug HTC build in... :/
If any one has a solution or a fix please post it

So, the problem is the official 2.3.3 not the new radio?
Btw, also with dialer voice at 30% of consume, i have 28% of battery available now and the last unplugged was 1g and 15 hours ago, with medium use,.
Whit the 2.2.1 with the same use, my best was 1g and 6h.

Seems like it's a problem with the official release.
If you google the issue you'll find people with other phones solving the issue by setting the "Turn to mute" feature to off...
Problem with this: We don't have that setting :/
For me Dialer doubles the standby battery use... so battery life is good, but could be much better.

So we can not do anything to solve this problem? We have to wait a patch from google? HTC will not do it then maybe never or maybe the 2.3.4
Maybe in the other Roms, cooker have solved this problem..
can we turn off the proximity sensor?

I think the problem is within the htc dialer app, so htc has to fix it...
Does anyone know if the "turn to mute" option was there in the official froyo roms?
Maybe it's possible to edit the setting manually then and switch off the feature in the settings file by copying the relevant settings string from the old config...
EDIT:
Maybe it's possible to use the old dialer app from froyo in GB...
Somebody has to try ^^
EDIT2:
Turning off the proximity sensor completely would resolve in dropping calls with your ear, because display doesn't turn off when you move your phone to your ear ^^
Update:
Installing HTCDialer.apk from ARHD 3.7 on 5.1.4 does not work...
Same issue for me : the dialer is supposed to be using 10 to 20% of battery, eventhough it only used the CPU for less than one minute...
I'm quite sure this wasn't the case on Froyo...
I am investigating this problem, the point is that I have heard other people with the desire hd on an Italian forum, and apparently almost no one experience this problem.
I'm thinking that maybe the problem is due to some app, widget, or maybe some setting of the carrier.

I made a fullwipe twice and reflashed the rom, I restored nothing, really nothing - and the issue was there.
So it must have something to do with provider or maybe the hardware (some components from another manufacturer than most phones?) I don't now. Maybe just an ultra rare random bug in the original firmware, that happens when your IMEI starts with what not (just joking).
I can also confirm that the bug was not in froyo but in many gingerbread Roms on different phones. So maybe a general bug in gingerbread. If only someone could figure out a way to disable the "turn to mute" feature.
After what I read that should solve our problem...

Or maybe just those who are not experiencing the issue is why does not realize it because they use the phone so heavy, and more % are given by other processes, so that they see "dialer" is a 6% 7% max.

Mine is around 11% at the end of the day, but I only made a 1mn call...
And it was always nearly 0% in Froyo...
Is it increasing with phone call lengh?
I'm also wondering if this is just a new way to compute the battery usage : maybe Froyo wasn't able to "see" this usage, so the percentage was allocated to other items, but in this case the battery lengh would be the same. Just the ratio per item would be different. What do you think?
My screen battery usage was around 80% before upgrading, now it is only 58%, Dialer increased, system increased, but I'm under the feeling that my battery still last the same time...

Hi,
as far as I noticed it's not increasing with call lenght.
It actually starts to drain battery, when you make a one second call, then it uses the sensors the whole time.
If you reboot your phone and don't start the dialer or take a call, then it will not drain your battery.
That leads to my conclusion, that it is a bug in the dialer, because it should'nt use the sensors when my phone is in standby overnight.
EDIT:
My battery life seems to have decreased comparing to froyo.

I have the voice "dialer" with high % of consume also when removed from charge and I leave the dhd on the desk, inactive in standby, and I do not make any phone call.
That's why I say that I think the problem is not the proximity sensor problem, but maybe other.
However to me the battery lasts much longer but even with this problem, I can do at least 10 hours in more than Froyo with the same usage.
@ samsenteur: I asked on another Italian forum, and many users do not have this problem, perhaps because the % of telephone as it changes when the high screen and system are high, so with a heavy phone during the day.
Edit : scungilli Many thanks for your help and willingness to resolve that you giving ...

Massive battery drain with activated WiFi (E986)

Hello everybody,
the LG Optimus G Pro just arrived in Germany a few days ago and I was a lucky one who received his device 2 days ago. Before the LG Optimus Pro I have used a Samsung Galaxy Note II a couple of month.
Yesterday, first time I noticed something which really bothers me. I have noticed an increasing battery drain when I have activated the WiFi, over the night.
Normaly the device used to have 10% over 10 hours over the night, but with activated Wifi there are over 20-30%. I don't know why it so massively drains the battery, but this is something, which I did not had with my Samsung Galaxy Note II.
Does anybody noticed the same problem? Anybody who already fixed it?
Yes I know, I can deactivate the WiFi while the device is in Standby Mode, but this is not what I want.
Thanks for you help and feedback advanced.
BR
Root
Install BetterBatteryStatus
Wait overnight and see kernell wakelocks, copy the tops on google
Also, may deactivate syncing
Go into your Wi-Fi settings, hit your menu button and then go into advanced settings. Check for if you are set to avoid poor Wi-Fi connections and also if your Wi-Fi is set to always on. I set mine to always on only while charging and that seems to do a lot better on my battery life.

Are u sure its the WiFi?
I also had this problem and for some reason i found out that by freezing quickset SDK and generally all the apps that belong to the quick remote, saves a lot of battery but REALLY A LOT
Also check the advanced settings on your wifi menu... see if something is going wrong.
Lastly check your battery health, and install battery callibration - believe it or not it fixed my battery showing wrong percentages by almost 6%.

In standby overnight, maybe 3-5% battery drain. A lot of things come in play though such as what apps you have installed, if your on LTE, or 3g, or wifi, or even go into airplane mode at night, etc.

I've bought a new desire 816 two days ago and I can notice something wrong with the battery as it drains faster than normal
and it gives false percent as it increases after restarting the phone ..
I've tried to calibrate the battery by letting in turn off by itself then recharging it to 100% but then I realized It's still giving me false number
I don't know what to do ... It would be great if you can help

Have you tried a battery calibration app such as the one by NeMa in the PlayStore? It requires root but it basically asks you to charge your device to 100% which is done from empty to max in about 3 hours. At this point you go in the app while its still plugged in and "clear" the batterystats. This is the file that tells the device how much charge it can hold and on some devices this file gets buggy/glitched. It will wipe this file away and generate a new one based on the charge the battery holds at max. It then asks you to use the device as normal until it dies and recharge to full afterwards. This has worked for many and I hope it will work for you as well.
If you have excessive battery drain look at the Power settings and review the usage. If it shows a green line on awake and it doesn't show the same matching the screen on time then you have a background app sucking battery from the device. Facebook and its Messenger are known to be the culprits but if you download Greenify from the PlayStore. It will allow you to hibernate practically every app so there is no battery drain when your device screen is off. In combination with this app I am able to get an average day and a half of use with no charge and normal use with Videos, Music, Facebook, Messenger; etc. I average I use about 6-10 hours on this device with pure stock w/ root & Greenify with battery calibration via app done.

Pressing the power switch for exactly two minutes and the device will tell you Alglaq Do you want to or not agreed to the demand and calibration Congratulations to you

I fixed my battery issue. the exposed software killed mine relating to the same issue i believe you had or have. reporting wrong percentage. once had 50 percent, took it back out of my pocket and within 5 mons i had 4%. wouldnt charge.
Power it off... hold all 3 buttons (power+volume up+volumedown) after 15 seconds it will boot back up. this calibrated my battery. hope this works for you.
Wrong battery percentage report is fixed by HTC on 1.58 rom update. it works fine on 1.58 Rom
My battery on my htc is draining fast I think it went from 100% to 83% percent in like 20 minutes is this normal? I have disabled everything that I'm able to disable on this phone but once it gets to 70% the drainage kinda slows down

Note 3 neo lockscreen lag FIXED!

Hi guys I have found a solution to the lag at the lockscreen!
Please download the following app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.wl
App Name- Wake Lock Manager
Steps:
1. Install the above app and open it.
2. Click on PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK.
3. The above numbers should go to 4.
4. Now go into options (by pressing the menu button)
5. Check the following boxes:
Autostart On boot
Notifications
6. Close the app and enjoy!
You may go in app manager and untick "show notifications" if you find the app notifications annoying or unnecessary.
I have tried this on 5 phones and it works perfectly. It does not affect the phone otherwise and it also does not use extra battery(I have tested it).
Questions are always welcomed!
Here is my link to the youtube video for the same:

Anytime!
thnks a lot
Surely it works, but this isn't a good solution.
Selecting number 4 in that app means that your phone will be "forced" in a partial wake lock state.
In other words when the screen goes off, the cpu it's still running and will never go to deep sleep (normal standby state).
If you use your phone a lot, this will affect battery life only a bit.
However if with a single charge your phone usually last 1-2 days, forcing a partial wake lock will affect a lot battery life.
Battery will discharge also when you are not using your phone... because cpu will be always on (partial wake lock).
So.. this is a "solution", but not a good solution.
Thanks for sharing this tips, but be aware.. if you use this app your phone's cpu will never go to deep sleep.

Hi FSRider,
I know what you are trying to say and I had the same doubts earlier. So I tested it for a week.
What i did was,
First I didnt use phone much(only calling and msging) for a day and then did the same thing using the app running. I found that the difference in consumption was very less. In first case 30% was consumed and in the 2nd case 33% was consumed.
Secondly, I played some heavy games for 1 and half our and without the app the consumption was 28% and with the app it was 31%.
Thirdly, I just didnt touch my phone for 5 hours. Without the app the consumption was 1% or less and beleive me with the app too it was 1%.
Cheers!

I have installed the latest build but still the lockscreen lag is present. I guess currently the above given method is the only method to remove that lag.

Battery drain problem

Hi everyone,
I'm facing some battery drain issue after the last update RMX1993EX_11.A.15: athe the moment my phone can barely achive 5h of SOT (screen on time) while before the update it could easly reach 8h or more.
On the official Realme forum I have read there are a lot of user with the same problem but no one solved. I would like to downgrade to the previous versione but I can't find a way.
I tried to manually set which apps can run in background but not even this helped.
Does anyone noticed the same problem?
I have the same version and I also have a lot of battery drain, with the older version I haven't.
I feel you Bro. I'm in the same condition and there is no way to downgrade. Realme suggested me to disable a lot of function but also in this way I can't solve the problem and so I'm waiting for a new update. Crossed fingers.
Before update my x2 had arround 10h SoT, now less than 6h... wtf?
I don't have the same issue, but try to disable dark mode and update Google services (often associated with battery drain):good:

I've tried to disable the dark mode but it seems that it doesn't affect so much battery, i also searched for possible battery drain issue due to the version of the play services installed on my device but i found nothing, i'll give a try to your suggest hoping will fix che issue.
Is very disappointing, arround 40% less of batery life since last update.

I've fully charged my phone but seems that disabling dark mode and updating google play services didn't helped.

The last one possible at the moment 19.6.68.
I was evuating to install a previous one but I don't think it can really help. I also tried to reinstall the colorOS update via recevery but nothing changed.
Maybe it can help, mine is 19.6.29

Tried also this solution but nothing, in this case doesn't depend to google play services.
Does anyone has something different to test?
The only one solution is a new ColorOS version without battery drain bugs.
I've instaled the last update and the battery drain issue isnt' fixed, I would say that it is even worse.
The only way to achive more than 5h of SOT is to keep enabled the power saving and dark mode, limit all the possible app and don't use the phone (just kidding).
Does anyone know if it is possible to downgrade ?
The main problem is Always on Display. Turn it off! I moved from loosing 7-10% battery over night on my RMX1993 to 2% (with 4G data on) over night after I turned it off. Disable screen off gesture and use dark mode more often with auto adjust display brightness. Turn on smart battery saver on.
I still get around 9-10 hours SOT and two days on light heavy use.
With clock on screen locked ... I don't see all this drain ...

If I'm not wrong, according to your stats you can reach at most 5h of SOT
