Battery Life On XtreStoLite 2.1 (COF8) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Ever since I switched to this rom my phone has been so much quicker in terms of responsiveness. The animations are snappier too.
Battery life however has been what I liked most about flashing this rom (naturally ?). My Edge has been off the charger for nearly 20 hours with Bluetooth on the entire time for Android Wear and a weird snapchat wakelock that maintained a network connection for 5 hours. Screen time was over 4 hrs. Still at 10% as I type this.
Much much better than stock ?

Has anyone updated to xtrestoLite 2.2 with unikernel 6? I updated but feel as if 2.1 and unikernel 3 actual have me better battery life. I manage just about barely 4 hours currently without Bluetooth on. Btw how did you manage to get Google services so low that it doesn't even show up in your battery stats? Mine is constantly on to with around 30% usage.

Yeah I'm gonna stick with 2.1 for now. As for my Google services not showing up in my stats, I couldn't tell you, I'm not doing anything different in particular. I leave sync on as well.

From what I've read you should be fine provided you follow the steps outlined in the rom's thread. If you've read otherwise then link me to it?

Unlocked Phones: If you have unlocked your phone, you might run into problems with 5.1.1. There have been reports of phones stuck in a boot-loop when upgrading from 5.0.2 -> 5.1.1 when the phone has been unlocked or EFS/IMEI has been tampered with. Combine this with the new "FRP LOCK" (Factory Reset Protection) in 5.1.1, and you might find yourself with a complete brick with no warranty. This issue may or may not have anything to do with rooting or custom firmware

Amazing battery life on 4.0.4

I flashed Paul's 4.0.4 ROM a few days ago and my battery life has greatly improved. I wouldn't normally make a new thread about something like this but I've seen a lot of people complain about poor battery life. Hopefully this ROM helps others as much as it helped me. The ROM is still in beta but it's surprisingly stable.
I always keep my brightness at 40%

Maybe so, but neither stock nor 4.0.3 with Franco's kernel has been able to achieve amazingly long idle time and still handle hours of screen time.

Yeah, that's pretty low for a day and a half worth of usage. We already know that the Galaxy Nexus idles like a champ.
He still has 60% left so he's still got a lot of usage out of that charge. Could be looking at 2 days at that rate but yeah you don't really use the phone that much do you.

I've seen as low as 0-1% battery lost over 8 hours of sleeping before. So that plus WiFi for a full day isn't hard. I've been at 75% battery before with a full 24+ hours used but it was on Wifi with little screen usage and minimal things like texting and short calls and not much else.

I've managed 2 hours 40 minutes screen on time over 42 hours with eight percent left leaving brightness on auto, using AOKP and Franco 16.2.

I second this, another thing is half the time people forget to mention their on AT&T not on Verizon, and they compare their 2 day battery life on GSM to an LTE phone...
My biggest battery hog is exchange syncing every 15 minutes, and with that and LTE with nothing but stock apps in the background I can get 2, 2 1/2 hours of on screen time within a day

[Q] Battery Drain on 4.4?

So I just sideloaded the 4.4 factory image and went perfectly, however now I feel like the battery life on my nexus 7 is just a lot worse than I have been getting prior to 4.4, is anyone else getting these same results?
You can find out what is draining your battery by Installing BetterBatteryStats our something similar.

I've got something crazy going on as well. Android OS is top on the battery taking 68%! On my phone it's usually under 30%. I just looked at the BBS thread and it's not working on 4.4 yet.

Came here having the same problem. Are you talking about the Percentage enabler apk (the one that enables the built in percentage, that google left out)? I have that on both my 4.4 devices (Nexus 4 and 7) and see extreme Android OS usage.
I'm having massive drain. I left my 2012 model off the charger, went to work all day and went to use it last night. It was totally dead after being at 100% the night before. It drained just sitting unused

yeah, I face the same exact situation.
before update i was leave to work then to university and back home after 12hrs half of them with screen on and battry about half, now in this situation when i come back home the battery is out of power -less than 20%-.
So there is a problem, and this problem make me think about reinstall 4.4, or even go back to 4.3!

Thats terrible... Try turning off location.
After getting 4.4.2 as OTA battery behave as was in 4.3 if not better...
Problem no more.
I side loaded the 4.4.2 OTA on my LTE N7 2013. A few days later, I noticed the battery was draining a lot on standby in about 7 hours - it would go from 45% to 30% in 2 hours without me having done anything at all, with only Android OS taking up the battery use. Once I noticed the problem, I let the battery drain completely, sit for about an hour, charge it up with it off, and turn it back on.
Today, I have used it a bit to do some emails, web browsing, and Hangouts, and it's been 6 hours and it's only down to 93% battery from 100%. This is much more expected for me.

Hey guys, question. After I flash the NK3 firmware with Odin, Im getting stuck on a boot loop. I've already tried doing a factory reset and wiping cache and still have boot loop. Any other suggestions? My other option is flashing NIE firmware but Im not sure if I can update that to NK3 and then remove the system updater with debloater. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Disregard the last post. I found out what was wrong. I needed to add all of the firmware files in the corresponding slots within Odin. Not just the AP slot. Thanks.
I have debloated my n4 as much as I dare on 5.0.1. And most days I make it from 9am-11pm easily. But that's with moderate usage. If I use the phone heavily, I struggle to make it to bedtime. Throw poor signal areas in, and all bets are off. And I still don't understand how screen doesn't make it into the top 4 on my battery usage list, even with 3+ hours of screen time.
I too like the 4.4 ui better. Especially notifications and recent apps. I would love to downgrade, but I am too skittish to flash a $700 phone. I'll flash $200 phones all day long, but I am not gonna risk bricking this one.

On pace for over 8 hours SOT. This phone is a beast!
I had a much better one two days ago, but I didn't get a screen shot.
I average well over a full work day with more than 7+ hours of SOT.
I don't use a dark theme, but it's not a bright theme either. No power save use ever. I use bluetooth and headphones to listen to music throughout the day. Plenty of web surfing and media related tasks. I don't play games.
I believe I get better battery performance following charging via wireless instead of the Rapid Charger. It's just been my overall experience so far.

Over 2 days lol sot over 3 hours never got this on my previously Note 4 , just imagine if i was a hard user would get sot probably over 6hrs and instead of 2 days , 1 day for having more sot.
Running On Samsung Galaxy Note 5 N920A
This version of the Note has me the most disappointed. I got less than 12 hours of use out of the phone, with it in ultra power saving mode for more that 50% of that time, just texting. I had my Note 4 with me as well, using that to listen to music, watch Netflix, and read on the Nook app, with wi-fi turned on but no cellular, bluetooth, or gps turned on, but I had over 50% battery left when the Note 5 died.
Battery life is great on this thing.

AT&T never actually stopped using Carrier IQ. They were just doing a better job hiding it (or getting the phone manufacturer to bury it so deep that it's nearly impossible to remove.)
FML and I can't root my phone and get rid of it.. IT's causing my Android System to go nuts and always consume the most battery... This is disappointing.

AT&T has a 14 day return policy. If you are still within it, why not return the phone and get something else?
Yeah I'm within the 14 day return policy but nothing on the market is better than the Note 5 in terms of overall package. Guess I'll just ride it out. I like the Note 5 a lot and I guess if I can get a full day of use that's good enough.. Plus Marshmallow should fix a lot of issues that plague Lollipop. Here's to hoping we actually see M before the Note 6 is released..

Samsung isn't terrible when it comes to updating. Especially when you consider the amount of work involved in getting TW ported, and the high number of devices they have.
AT&T, on the other hand, might not accept that update from Samsung until 2017 or later.
I'm very serious when I say that if you keep this phone, accept it how it is today. Assume no bug fixes, no updates and no root. This way, you're prepared for one possible outcome and can only be pleasantly surprised.
(Yes, I'm having to do the same math. You can't imagine how hard it is for me to accept a phone with no root... but it's a good device...)

What do you think it is? I'm using the same ROM an kernel ans don't have battery issues. Maybe an app causing the drain? Flash RUU to see if it happens stock.
I had this problem, no matter what ROM kernel I used on both Nougat and Oreo. I replaced to battery and no more problems.
You know the HTC Diagnostic Guide App? (*#*#3424#*#*)
Well I tried to get a replacement battery by using the warranty.
So I tested the battery test on both, stock nougat and stock oreo.
Nougat was 96% after the test while oreo was already by 86%!
Sadly it has to be below 70%...

I don't know how this test is working. But since I needed these numbers for the support chat, I took this comparison.
Everything else I made is not really comparable.
But the drain es exactly why I am in contact with the support.
Everyday I get up, eat, play a little game, every time the same time, put music on ears and drive to university.
All in all about 20min SOT and 1h10min music playing, mainly screen off.
Before Oreo I was able to get over the day, after the mentioned time, I had way over 70% left, can't exactly say how much.
Since Oreo it was below 70% and I needed to recharge midday, when it already dropped below 50%.
I don't like the Idea of replacing the battery right now...
Maybe we will get another firmware update soon.
But checking other forums, Samsung S8(+) for example, they have similar problems. But many even say it better than on nougat.
Ist there any News About a filmware Update? I almost Cant Use the phone without having a Powerbank in my pocket
Don't really know, but it seems at least a security update is coming:

All of this happened to me six months ago. I was on stock MM (rooted, S-off). I went crazy studying Better Battery Stats and trying everything. At first it would go down do 50% after maybe an hour of Sot, then 30%.
Then I just started using it plugged in all the time and I couldn't get it above 20%.
Took it to someplace (like Ubrreakifixit or whatever) had battery replaced for ~$100 (which sucked), but that was the problem.
Just an FYI to OP and anyone else... I didn't want to believe it was the battery for a month and tried all other options.
But it's the battery.

It's not a firmware issue because every one on the same firmware would be experiencing it. Have you flashed a RUU yet to see if this all happens on stock? If so it's a hardware failure.
