Has anyone figured out a way to do timelapses with camera manual mode? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'd love the inbuilt camera to have the ability to record timelapses using camera manual mode.
I can take great star shots and I'd love to be able to take multiple shots/timelapse automatically.
I'd even be happy to just have a bunch of shots taken automatically which I could assemble into a timelapse video on PC.
While I'm at it, manual shutter speed, let me set it between 1-30 seconds in 1 second increments, the jump from 15 secs to 30 secs is annoying.
Can non lg apps take control of the inbuilt camera app? Maybe possible one day?

use fv 5 camera from play store.it has an option for automatic timelapse.the paid version.

Focus manually while recording video with Xperia

Hello guys, today I am going to show you, how you can manually focus or tap to focus while recording video with your xperia devices. It's the most important feature that Sony devices are lacking. Actually they didn't provide it directly. But the feature is provided indirectly
Here are the steps:
1. Navigate to "Manual mode" ( you can't do it with auto mode)
2. Navigate to video and go to "Options" (The 3 dot menu)
3. Go to "Focus mode" and select "object tracking"
4 Go to "Metering" and select "spot"
5. Turn "Steady Shot" off
Here is a video made by me showing how to do it and focusing in action
good tips
Gread dude thx

Long(er) exposure photography

Is it possible to take longer than 10 second exposure pictures on the Note 7 camera?
I think you can. but the thing is it is too bright and you can't set ISO the lowest.
I tried it day time. May be it works on night time.
Worth trying.
With the stock camera app in pro mode you can select 10 seconds as a max. In Auto mode even in complete darkness it doesn't set the shutter speed any longer than half a second.
Since you can control the shutter speed with this phone you might be able to find an aftermarket camera app with manual controls that might let you take exposures longer than 10 seconds. Without some sort of tripod and at night it's pointless to use a shutter speed that slow.

Planning to use it with a tripod to see how far I can push the night photography capabilities of the camera. Will look for a third party app.

This app allows you to select much longer exposure times. Not all the reviews are that great though.

Change shutter speed for long exposure?

On my samsung i had some great manual mods in my camera app.
- Used to take some really awesome long exposure fotos - camera usually open for 2 - 5 sec. Sincs google don't want to give us some manuel controls, does any know an great app where I am able to change shutter speed?
I've heard that the HDR+ only works with the stock camera app`? I will be fine tho, as I can edit it later in Lightroom/Photoshop..
Thanks
You can't go past 1 sec exposure on the pixel. No app can change that. Sorry man.
Sent from my Google Pixel 2 XL using XDA Labs

I use the app Proshot for manual controls, it supports long exposure upto 4 seconds on Pixel 2. So I guess most of the camera apps supporting manual controls can support long exposure upto 4 seconds.

IT looks so great!! Its not possible with pixel 2?
So, any idea how you engage the shutter to take a long exposure image without touching the camera - which will cause camera shake? The voice command "hey google, take a picture" only seems to work from standby mode (when you're not using the phone - but the power is on).

[REQUEST] enable long exposure mode please

I have been using this phone for a month. I am rooted with magisk and camera2 api is enabled. All the manual controls except the long exposure works fine but in case of shutter speed or long exposure i cannot find more than 1/8 sec in any of the third party app like proshot and camera fv-5. So i think this is the cause of my camera hardware not being able to do so :crying::crying:. But amazing developers like you guys are out there who are making great customization and mods for this phone, please anyone take an initiative for enabling this long shutter speed mode for at least 10 or 20 sec.

Actually when camera2 api was disabled i tested it and saw that all that it does is stack some images. That image is not what i call long exposure image. Any how can you share some long exposure shots taken by this phone? can you do light trails also? please share.
Managed to got this by opening shutter for 5 sec

its just the file name, you can change that naming pattern in the settings of the app, no canon or any kind of DSLR.

Mi A2 Lite Shutter Speed Problem

I was pretty excited to take some night photos after I unlocked Camera2API on my A2 Lite but it seems that while all manual camera apps allow up to 32 seconds of exposure time, the camera doesn't go further than 1 second. Anyone else experiencing this?
