Moto 360 "Factory Reset" not working - Moto 360

I have problem with my Moto 360. I cannot factory reset my Moto 360. When I select factory reset and then confirm on green button it only shuts down, does NOT reset it self to factory default. How do I hard reset it via Home button or bootloader?

Anyone?

What is your battery level when resetting? I found mine had to be 80% or more for a reset.

I do have the same problem
Even while the battery is fully charged. Was in touch with motorola support and they say that I do have to RMA my watch ... I hope that there is also another way ...

I have the same problem!!!

Hi, this is my first post, so please bare with me. I had the same issue. I would attempt to factory reset using the option in the settings on the watch. The watch would showed a shutting down message and then restarted. However, it would usually either get stuck on the "M" screen and require a hard reset (holding down physical button for 25 seconds) or require me to place on charger and attempt to turn on again. (sometimes it would even be caught in a constant reboot sequence).
I did find a way though to factory reset the device. I enabled the lock screen option which is in the regular watch settings menu. Once I enabled a password pattern, I locked the device (again an option in settings). Then I attempted to unlock the device. After 3 attempts I was timed out (not sure how long, maybe a few minutes). Then I tried 3 more wrong password patterns, again timed out. I tried another 3 attempts, and now (after a total of 9 tries), the device asked me if I wanted to factory reset. I clicked yes and it restarted. When it turned on the device was factory reset!
A couple notes, I tried this twice. The first time it worked and restarted and was factory reset, no issue. The second time I tried this (a few days later), the device froze on the restart sequence, but after a physical hard reset (hold button for 25 seconds) it restarted and was actually factory reset.
Hopefully this helps. Let me know if it works for you as well. The watch also seems to work better after a factory reset, but I guess that's true with most devices.
Cheers!

I have exactly the same problem and lock screen trick does not work for me.
Every time I try to do the factory reset the watch just turns off. No reset.
My ultimate problem is that I have changed phones and now I can not connect the watch to any of them.

Update:
After many tries I was able to do factory reset. So keep trying folks

i had to charge device 50+ and it factory resetted after reboot

moto 360 2nd gen stuck on start up screen
I have a similar problema but happened after the last update, and haven´t been able to hard reset since it only shows the boot mode option on Normal Powerup. Ideas anyone? Is there a physical way of hard resetting the wathc beside the button?

I had the same problem but was able to revert back to a TWRP backup that remembered my watch, then after turning on the watch wi-fi and trying a few more times, power cycling the watch, etc it finally reset while on the charger about about 75% charge. YAY now its connected and updating ... seems to have worked

Same here, the solution was :
If the device is updated to Android Wear 6.0, follow these external reset instructions:
Power off the watch by holding the Power key for more than 15 seconds.
With device off, press and hold Power key. Hold the Power key until the watch vibrates 3 times. This takes about 5 seconds. ( WORKED ONLY WHILE THE WATCH WAS ON THE DOCK)
A black and white text screen will display Bootloader Version: 954 (if it displays anything below that, those instructions do not apply to your device).
Boot of this screen should show: Boot Mode: Normal Mode.
Press the Power key to cycle the boot mode until it shows: Boot Mode Recover Mode.
Press the Power key for about 1 second to boot into Recovery Mode.
Device will boot in recovery mode with the image of an android on its back.
Swipe up or down on the screen to see Recovery Mode UI and swipe left to select it.
Swipe down to find Wipe Data/factory Reset option and swipe left to select the option.
Swipe down to Yes and swipe left to select it.
The UI will show Wiping Data Screen.
The device will come back to recovery mode UI.
Swipe left to select the Reboot option.

Factory reset unavailable - this worked for me
I have a MOTO 360 first edition, and the only settings option it showed was a combined unpair from bluetooth and factory reset option. It didn't work.
Note: I did charge the watch full before attempting this form of reset. Thanks, leothelionman!

I can't swipe up or down in recovery mode any options?

I had to power down using the settings menu, the 25 second hold didn't work. Keeping it on the dock, I pressed the button until it vibrated once, then twice. To select recovery mode, I clicked the button once, then held it down until I saw the Moto logo. After that, I could follow the on-screen instructions to select factory reset.

Major Problems after ROM upgrade attempt!!!

I just received my O2 Exec, and upgraded the ROM to the latest off the O2 Site. When prompted, I disconnected the device from the computer and did the reset. (Two soft keys plus reset button). The screen comes up and prompts to press "0" to load factory defaults. I press "0", and a message briefly appears...."clearing". Screen then goes blank.
I then tried to put it into bootloader mode, with no luck.
What can I do?
check
check to see if there is a faint "serial" written on the to of the blank screen (very faint can barely see it)
if so .... you are in bootloader mode

I checked a few times in very good light. The screen is blank.
Is there nobody that can help me? Please my new phone is dead. What can I try?
What I have already tried:
1. Will not go into boodloader mode.
2. When I do a hard reset, the screen show up, but does not continue to splash screen.
If it is going into a hard reset it should go into bootloader mode no problems. Hold down the power, backlight key and the reset button for about 3 seconds. Sometimes it doesn't enter bootloader with just a quick press.
When you have done this try re-flashing with a freshly downloaded copy off the FTP or somewhere else.

I don't know if the problem is hardware or software. I've tried everything. Anybody can help?
I cannot turn on sometimes or charge the battery. I have to take off and try again.
Thanks!
When you get to the bootloader screen (with word Start) can you use the volume keys to navigate to Recovery and then press the power button to select? If so, once in recovery select Factory Data Reset.
Good luck.

Stock LG G3 stuck on “optimizing apps 1 of 1” after changing to ART

Today I made the switch to ART on my week-old LG G3, but when it rebooted the phone became stuck on the optimizing apps screen somewhere on 58 out of 200. I was able to reboot the phone multiple times by removing the battery until I got to 1 of 1, which I'm currently stuck on. I can factory reset but would rather not, of course. Don't have a back up, unfortunately.
I've tried these solutions so far:
Recovery mode (was intending to clear the cache, but it turns out LG stock recovery only allows you to factory reset)
Download mode. Does not seem to work; I held down the volume up button and plugged in a USB but it just shows me how much battery is in the phone.
Safe mode; does not seem to work. I pressed the power on button and then held down only the volume down button at the splash screen, but that just takes me back to the optimizing screen.
Any more solutions? Was I doing something wrong with download or safe mode? Thanks for the help guys!

Booting into recovery

Hi people,
I hope this is the right place for this.
My partners phone has a bit of a problem at the moment. Not long ago her phone's power button stopped responding to a single press, however it would respond to three taps, starting emergency mode (though it's not enabled).
I suggested she presses the power button to force shut it off and it's now booting into Android Recovery menu.
Is there any way to be able to get the ROM to boot back from this WITHOUT having to re-flash the stock ROM?
We have very important data on there which hasn't been backed up yet as we didn't get a chance.
I really hope someone is able to help!
Hi, Do you see reboot system now, reboot to bootloader, enter fastboot... like options in the recovery menu? you can try to select reboot system now and power off options with your faulty power button you can press few times if you select the these two options. Only If you select the wipe data factory reset option, your data will be gone. Dont select the wipe data factory reset option.
how to root and install custom rom to this phone do any one know instructions ?

After reset through software, asks for PIN but no PIN works

Hello all
I tried to software reset my phone as I wanted to give it to another family member. However after factory reset (though software) it asks for a PIN, and no PIN's I have used on the phone actually works?!?
I want to get into recovery menu to do wipe data / factory reset to remove the pin code issue (I hope).
However I cannot even turn off the phone without the PIN..
I tried Power + Volume down (restart), and as soon as it turns off the screen try to switch to Power + Volume Up, however it seems to continue doing normal bootup. I tried multiple times, cannot seems to get the sweet spot.
Any tips to what I can do?
I could try PC connection and ADB? Else I need to wait until battery is drained, then try to start it with power + Volume Up when charging / turning it on again?
