LG G Pad v480 (8.0) hardbricked... - G Pad 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
You're my last hope haha.
My new lg g pad 8.0 is totally bricked, like no screen at all, no fastboot nor download mode, only an unknown device in Windows Device Managers saying "QHSUSB_BULK".
I really don't know what to do since it's the first time I encounter that kind of thing.
Thanks for your help/time !!!
EDIT: For those that can help : Qualcomm 9008...

Getting computer to recognize
I'm in a similar predicament with my LG GPad 7.0 V410. No display, no fastboot, no adb, no recovery. I seem to learn about things better when I royally screw them up first, lol. Anyway, I spent hours trying to get my computer to recognize it. Finally as simple as it is, I removed it from my computer, held down the power button for 20 seconds, released it, then plugged it back into the computer while holding down the volume up. Like magic my computer recognized it! I guess it just needed to reboot. It is now recognized in Device Manager as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM2). Now from what I understand this should give a platform to flash it from scratch but so far I'm stumped. I've been playing with qpst lg flash tool etc.. I really don't know what I'm doing at this point. But since its in a Qualcomm state and not an LG state, I reckon you should be looking at ways to interface with the board inside Which is the MSM8226 (same as mine). Hope that helps! I'll keep you posted if I get anywhere. What is challenging for me is the stock LG firmware kdz for V410 is no where to be found.

Fantastic news!! I have finally come up with a solution! My tablet is back up and running!! I've posted a tutorial, it's based on my tablet but again since we share similar hardware should be able to help you as well! You'll just need to locate the appropriate KDZ (stock image). Good Luck let me know if you any questions or if you need help finding your kdz. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/qd-9008-fix-tested-lg-v410g-pad-7-0-att-t3269057

Lg G3 - BRICKED !! Tried everything! Experts help pls

Hi
I have a t-mobile D851 LG G3, for which i was trying to restore to STOCK software, through one of the guides elsewhere on the forum. My first try FAILED, and now the phone is stuck on the "FIRMWARE UPDATE - Do not unplug the USB connection until the process is finished - USER B51" screen
No matter what i do (all key combinations for recovery mode, download mode), plugging, unplugging the phone, taking the battery out for 30 mins or so, and putting it back - NOTHING is working. It all goes back to the screen mentioned above.
I tried running the LG Flash tool again, but it fails.
Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This phone is my daily driver, and I am in a major fix without it.

EDIT - SOLVED
Thanks to everyone who chipped but especially to pside15 and one other person (but i can't find his post)
The solution was very simple - I was making the idiotic mistake of looking at just the computer screen and NOT the phone screen. The computer kept giving me all sorts of errors saying 'update failed - can't connect to server, yada yada' etc. I just left the phone alone - came back 10 mins later to working phone.
Moral of the story - Watch BOTH the phone screen and the computer while doing these things, because my computer had me believe that this is not gonna work - the phone obviously disagreed
When the flashtool fails, whats the error? Its not hardbricked if it still comes on and goes into download mode. Look at THIS image and see if you set action mode the same. This one mistake caused me a headache last night for 6 hours.
Your link doesn't work.
I use this LG Flashtool when I soft-bricked my G3.

it doesn't come into download mode - its just stuck at the 'firmware update' mode at 0%
And does it matter that its a D851 (the t-mobile) version?

The computer does recognize it. But when it comes to the point of verifying connection between phone and LG software update tool, it fails saying 'make sure the phone is connected to the computer, etc'

Uninstall drivers from device manager in computer, reinstall. Make sure to change com port to 41. Also board dl in action mode is a complete overhaul of firmware, the other setting in action mode is to update firmware.

If your phone can turn on an go into download mode you can flash it. Just try w different computers
Same thing happened to me

[Q] Help to unbrick my LG G3

Hello friendly devs,
So I messed up big time. I updated to 23C via the OTA and then discovered I couldn't do everything that I wanted, so I searched around a bunch for a way to put TWRP on it (never had it on this phone before) and of course no good way. I tried flashing it, and I got the fun certificate verify error trying to get into recovery. I could still boot normally at this point. I should have stopped.
Anyhow, I found a post about flashing the 12b aboot and that would let me throw TWRP on there w/o downgrading and losing all of my data. So, I tried it. Needless to say, this did not work. Now, I cannot do anything really.
If I try to boot normally, I see the certificate verify error with the initial LG splash, then screen goes blank. One red LED and then persistent blue LED until I pull the battery.
If I try to boot into download mode, I get the same thing (except the download mode symbol - which stays until I release volume button) and then screen blanks, LEDS, etc.
Sounds like from doing some looking that I'm basically up a creek w/o a paddle. I can maybe try to get into qualcomm mode (but I haven't found out how to do this), and try to follow these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/fix-unbrick-lg-g3-stuck-qualcomm-hs-usb-t2933853.
At this point, I'm thinking that's my only option. Does anyone have another idea, or at least advise on how to get my phone to recognize as 'Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 mode'
Thanks for your help...

Thanks @jac10000, I appreciate your help! Unfortunately, that set of instructions didn't work for me. I get an error that says ''Model information check failed' when i try the security error section. I think it could be that my phone won't even show as an LG device. The best I can do is QDLOADER (and even that with special drivers, it plugged in as QSUSB_BULK), even though I had proper LG drivers installed (from previously using ADB...that's how I borked it originally). Do you know of any other things I can try? I've done many at this point and am starting to feel hopeless. Thank you again for trying to help me!
You need a different set of drivers I think. I had a big problem with the qhusb_bulk mode but after installing the drivers I linked on my post in this thread it read as Qualcomm 9008: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3072091.
Try it out and report back to us. You should be able to then run the boarddiag tool as per the instructions on the attached pictures of the op in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/unbrick-lg-g3-qhsusbbulk-qualcomm-9008-t3072091.
Follow all the instructions very carefully and you should be able to bring it out of a bricked state!!!

I was able to get it into Qualcomm 9008 state, so that's a positive. I tried some similar, but I guess slightly different instructions using board diag and wound up with 'Failed loading flash programmer' errors. I'll try these other directions tonight. maybe if they're more specific I'll have more luck.
thanks again!

I have somehow apparently screwed myself over worse. Before about half the time my computer was recognizing my phone when i plugged it in, and with the drivers, as the qualcomm 9008. But now, I can't even get that! I plug it in in download mode, or normal, or not on at all and the computer doesn't recognize it. I've tried uninstalling the drivers, reinstalling them, rebooting, not rebooting. I opened it up to try and short the test pin, as the instructions stated, but there was a metal covering over the qualcomm chip which I couldn't remove. I am starting to think I'm screwed. I have seen lots of people having success with d550 and d551, etc, but I'm worried the verizon model is different.
thanks again for helping me. If you have any other ideas, I'll try pretty much anything at this point!

I had my VS985 hard bricked when I used "DD" command to mess around to try to put TWRP on it. I tried every possible method out there and I found that they don't work on VS985. KDZ and TOT flash all failed, no ADB. I tried it for 2 weeks and I gave up and sent the phone back to LG for warranty service. Guess what? Even LG couldn't fix it. They had to replace the motherboard! I would advise you the same path. Since your phone is so screwed, LG probably won't be able to tell what you did to it. Just play dumb and say one day you wake up to a dead phone. It worked for me.
By the way, who told you to put a KK aboot to a L rom? That seems to be a sure way to hard brick your phone. OTA does not work with a modified phone (no root, no TWRP). When you get your phone back from LG, TOT it to 10b, Stomp root it, and install TWRP manager to install TWRP. Then you can find the Jasmine flashable zip to upgrade to L. Avoid all OTA stuff.

oh wow, huh. Was your bricked in the same way as mine, showing the 'secure booting error' when you try to start it up in any mode? That super good to know. I may just try. thanks for the advice!
Yeah, I will definitely follow your advice and do that, if I ever get it back! I followed a thread I found, but was clearly making a huge mistake. If only I knew that then!

When booting up, my phone did not show the LG and Verizon start up screen. Even the LED wouldn't light up. It vibrated once, so you know it was powered on. The screen was completely dark. When connecting to computer, the normal LGE device showed in Device manager and I could change the COM port to 41 for TOT flash. However, the flash would fail just like yours. The phone model, IMEI were all blank. KDZ errored out too. KDZ is more forgiving in mismatched phone model, and if even it fails, then you probably cannot save it.

Interesting. I appreciate the advice. I'll probably give it a try, since I seem to be out of other options, but I suspect the secure booting error will be a give away that i did something to violate my warranty.

LG G3 D855: Bricked After OTA Update

Please help with my bricked G3 (D855)
Hello!
i would like to ask you, that can you maybe help me with my LG G3 (D855). I live in Europa, Hungary
I bought the device as used, and i would have liked to download the latest software via wifi, then on the phone restarted, and was only the TWRP on the phone, i restarted the device again, but i could entry only in the TWRP. I downloaded a ROM from the XDA (G3 Cloudy), and i made a mistake, i installed the D851 software. The phone is bricked, no download mode. I tryed to unbrick, but every method need the download mode. If i put the device on the PC, the PC see only as modem. LGE AnroidNet USB modem, and the the port name LGE AnroidNet USB Serial Port Com4. If the battery is low, i see on the display, that show that need to charge, but nothing more life signal. If you can help me with some information or via teamviewer, i will very glad for you, and naturally also donate. As i wrote the PC sees my phone only as modem, and LGE AnroidNet USB Serial Port Com4. I downloaded the QDLoader HS-USB Driver_64bit for my PC, but i dont see Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 between the ports.
I hope that someone can help me. Sorry for the bad english.
Have a nice day!
May be a dumb question since u don't have download mode, but can you enter recovery? If not you may be hard bricked as recovery and download are your only options and if neither work....

No download and no recovery mode, seems ur hard bricked. Sorry to say, I May be wrong but I'm pretty sure. Flashing different models is detrimental.
Even though you installed the D851 version of Cloudy, you should still be able to enter TWRP. After a battery pull, you're holding down the power+volume down buttons until the LG logo appears, then releasing both and again pressing them until the Hard Reset menu displays? In the future, never take an OTA update if you have a third party recovery like TWRP or CWM installed.
I cant entry in the TWRP, no download mode, no recovery mode, nothing
can someone help me?

It's probably not lost, but you'll need to get to work & it is a mild pain in the a** to do so...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359
Dont mind the sprint variant, just use the proper files for your phone this time around
I brought a phone up last week via this method. The hardest part is getting the phone to show up as qualcomm 9008 & to communicate with it(need the proper drivers and need a good cable). It can be a little tricky, but once you figure that part out the flashing part is easy.
*The method I linked above should be considered a last resort.*
But I thought you posted you can get into download mode earlier, so make sure your computer isn't the issue. Uninstall all lg drivers & reinstall them. If you have download mode/firmware update displayed on your phone screen and it shows up as lge serial port(or something like that) in device manager you should just be able to TOT or KDZ your stock firmware. I believe there are instructions for that in the link as well; if not - google is your friend.
