[VIsually] How are you rocking your ZF2? - ZenFone 2 Accessories

I've always liked to install custom launchers, themes, icon sets and widgets. But as the marketplace for cases, wraps/skins, protective glasses started to grow.. I decided to try out something new.
I came out with this (attached image). I've been rocking my ZenFone 2 like this for a while now. I wanted it to look good, but also to be protected against scratches, ground hits, etc.
Therefore, here is the information on what I have on it:
- dbrand leather skins & metal accents
- DEVILCASE 惡魔鋁合金保護框 tempered glass and transparent lens protector
- Aluminium bumper (got it from eBay)
I would really like to see how you guys customized your device OR what you wish to add to it!

- Icons (bottom): Flight Icon Pack
- Weather widget: Symmetry for Amber Weather
- Status bar icons: iStyle theme from Xstana Xposed Module
- Status bar colors and battery icon: colors added via GravityBox [LP] Xposed module (so the battery circle icon)

I never thought a ZF2 could look that beautiful. That looks entirely different from my own ZF2. Mine just has a smoke colored rear case and stock launcher (won't bother posting photos. You inspire me to pimp my ZF2!

Your ZF2 definitely rocks!!
I am planning to have this kind of set up. What do you think?

I know that it's expensive but that really depends on how dedicated you are in pimping your ZF2

How does the metal bumper affect your signal strength? When I tried one with my Nexus5, I would lose a bar from either wifi or LTE.

How are you able to install xposed?

Thank you! It looks nice with the DevilCase. I wanted a more thinner one, so that's why I bought the one from eBay. I may try the DevilCase as well, but maybe only if they manage to make a silver one

Thanks! It is part of the dbrand skin. You're able to either choose from a skin with nav keys cutouts or a full one without these. I am using the hardware nav keys. The icons/buttons seen on the screen are from Smart Launcher.

Align the camera hole, before pressing down make sure everything lines up to your liking
Press out any air bubbles with your fingers, smoothing out the surface
The speaker cover is next, align the speaker and make sure it is center. This piece should be about 1mm away from the battery door.
After you smooth that bottom part down, continue onto the sides using the same procedure. Align it about 1mm away from the battery door and press to stick it on.
Next do the sides that are closest to the screen. You'll want to align the skin with the volume rocker, then work your way onto the sides. This should be flush with the screen.
Now for the bottom piece, align the charging port hole. This piece should be about 1mm away from the front screen.
For the top, align the small notch to the little opening for the battery door. This piece should be flush with the front screen.
The last piece, the front, is optional. I would not recommend using it if you have a screen protector as there is a possibility of it lifting the screen protector up if you ever need to remove the skin. Align the camera hole and speaker.
Here's the finished product, turned out well and was done in less than 5 mins. Take your time and you can get it near perfect. Do note that we did not use a heat gun as it was not needed.
It looks ugly at the bottom corners. But thanks for the pics.

I like the blue color, but otherwise it's a bit too plain for me. Also, I don't like that you can still see the Verizon logo faintly through the skin.
Whoa way to rip of an existing brand name... I wonder if XO Skins knows about these guys?

Any chance we could get some pictures of the brushed titanium and brushed aluminum, that sounds like EXACTLY what I would be looking for.

Yes that's the Brushed Aluminum however it is the old design. I have sent out a bunch of colors for review so I'll be sure to put that video on here once completed.
Any idea when any of these reviews are coming? I am really leaning towards the skinomi skin right now but have been hoping this product would win me over.
Is the titanium translucent like the blue? Does it feel plasticy or like real metal?
Answers appreciated! Thanks!

Black to White case

hello guys,
I just bought a S2 recently and its the black one (got it off craigslist) and i was wondering. is there anyway I can make it white? (like the one on sprint.com 's homepage). I love the white one and would love to have my phone white.. is there a way to do it and is it worth it?.. thanks!
I dont think they sell any colored shell or battery door replacement sets like they do for iphone 4 to customize the phone unless you wanna go Oreo and order a white battery door

So does it not have any cutouts for the buttons/speaker/etc? Because that's what it looks like (and would actually be good... I would get the black and have a buttonless phone)

it'll basically protect from little scratches here and there, it's mainly for cosmetic purposes
it feels like it's gonna last awhile, i tested it going in and out of my tpu cases and "naked" in and out of my pocket
pretty good for 10 bucks
and here's a little tip, heat the edges with a blow dryer(or any fan blowing heat)
it helps to give the edges a better seal

Finding the OEM parts, though not the easiest of things, is by far easier then having to tear down the device and install the needed pieces.
So if your not up to or technically inclined to perform such a task, then one is probably better off approaching a less invasive procedure.
The battery door is no problem, it's the front screen portion that takes a lot of careful work.
Looks like someone is selling the back cover and battery cover, not the face plate though. Could make for a nice combo look, priced right
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...Accessories&hash=item231950e88b#ht_500wt_1413
using the silver bezel with the black phone comes out nicer than mixing the black with the white IMO

Screen protector/decal to cover the buttons and logo.

Hello!
Here's a rather weird request... I'm planning on getting a HTC one, and there is only ONE thing that bugs me: the button layout and not having onscreen buttons instead by default.
So what I wanted to do was, enable navbar with some tweaking/rom and have something that can cover the front so that essentially the front screen is just all black: no logo, no buttons. Any recommendation on what I should get for this?
Browsing around myself I haven't found any myself, so I'm hoping a HTC one owner out there has done something similar and could point me in the right direction.
Black nail polish! No really though, I have no idea. I thought about doing the same as you but never found a good solution so I learned to use/accept the official layout

I was thinking on the lines of sharpie
Did you try onscreen keys on the one ? It seems that it would be very far up into the device (bezel + speaker)
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I never used an actual navigation bar, just pie controls and it wasn't too bad. I imagine it would be a little high up, but you'll be looking at the screen anyway.
My vote is you try the sharpie and let me know how it works so I don't have to remove my screen protector
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
Take a cheap screen protector, put a piece of tape across to create a straight line above the nav bar, spray paint the section below, and there you have it a blacked out nav bar without defacing your phone.
Sent from my HTC One
Yea I was planning to sharpie on the screen protector too.
But I think spray paint would look much better. Ordered a one, should arrive on the 5th the latest! And right after I took the effort to revert to pure stock on my gnex

Since the screen size of the phones are the same (by specs), I used the same screen image. Compared to my current phone, the bottom bezel will be slightly larger. Doesn't look too bad I think, since the space is used by the speakers. I suppose if it's too higher, choosing a flatter/smaller nav-bar might make the proportions look better. But changing that would require PA or another custom ROM.
Now I need to figure out how we'd disable the buttons and/or turn off the lights...

You can use a Dbrand skin from dbrand.com
They'll custom design a skin for you too so if you want to have that part covered with say...leather, or aluminum skins to make it seem like its a large aluminum rectangle at the bottom.

Looks awesome, supurb craftsmanship Looks like a metal nexus.
I had a go but messed up on everything I tried. I tried a cheap screen protector but kept getting ugly streaks, leaving some spots slightly visible and others not. You coloured the side that sticks to the screen right, how did you get such a nice uniform layer?
While I hunt down another screen protector, I've tried to edit build.prop, but it doesn't work for me. Running the stock google play edition ROM, I'm on Hboot 1.54, so can't S-off, this was the closest to stock I could get. Is the setting not sticking due to the same reasoning here?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255573
If it is, I'm pretty much locked down to using the buttons until s-off arrives on 1.54
I have a STASH of matte screen protectors...
1) First one, I just sharpied the bottom area, but when i apply the whole screen protector, air lumps appear right above where the sharpie is.
2) So then I tried just making marks on the buttons and logo, same problem
3) Thought that I could perhaps cut the bottom part of the protector off, make it black and apply so that air bubbles don't form... but then the protector is slightly warped from the cutting.
Perhaps my layer of sharpie is too thick?
I don't think there's any winning. Maybe someone should contact dbrand for a custom skin as previously suggested. Personally, I gave up on this for now and decided to just love the HTC layout to the best of my ability
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
I never understood why anyone would want this (until now), but Gelaskins cover the buttons and logo area. You can create a custom design with that area blacked out.
So in the end, i did get something done to my liking:
I bought some window tint film off ebay (samples cost $1 for a set of 5). Cut it up so that it fills the bottom part of the screen. I cut my glossy screen protector so that it fits above it (the pics above don't have screen protector installed, but it looks the same. You could use a matte screen protector, but it highlights the cut a bit more
While it certainly didn't match toaster's simplicity and effectiveness, I'm quite happy with the result. Maybe my screen protectors are cheap and pick up the smallest bump easily. On the bright side, if you leave the lights enabled, it looks pretty sleek, kinda like the old LG chocolate
Got a navbar by running PA Rom, i can't get navbar from build.prop editting (was on S-on maybe?). I'll be trying again later. Hoping to find a GPE based rom with Nav bar.
Nice dude, glad to see that it worked out for you. Sounds like an excellent solution. I solved my problem much differently and just got an LG G2. It hasn't even been 24 hours but so far I love it

Sticker Boy Skin Review

(Update)
I have uploaded a video of the wood skin to You-Tube
http://youtu.be/nwD-jLsFuAk
StickerBoy has over 40 styles to choose from for the OnePlus One.
I received several different colors including one of the new styles called featherlight series it is about 25% thickness it's a high-quality vinyl with a bubble free adhesive. I also received a black carbon fiber and one of the World Series.
The carbon fiber has a three-dimensional carbon fiber pattern. To my surprise the wood vinyl has a three dimensional feel to it you can actually feel the woodgrain.
You can purchase the skins following configurations.
Combo 1 - Front, Back (sides attached to back) - Type 1 $24.95
Combo 2 - Front, Back, Sides - Type 2 $24.95
Combo 3 - Front, Back - Type 2 $18.95
Front only $9.95
Back only - Type 1 - (sides attached to back) $14.95
Back only - Type 2 $9.95
Sides only - can be used with Type 2 back or independently $9.95
Use discount code ( RT ) to receive 10% off your order at stickerboy . com
Installation is not complicated but I do recommend taking your time and using hairdryer after you've applied the skin will help the skin conform perfectly to the phone. I would say it took me probably about 15 minutes to apply the green skin.
This first photo shows the different style backs the one on the left has the sides attached and the one on the right is without the sides attached.

The green skin has been installed for about a day and I have not had any problems with peeling or bubbling. I will continue to update this thread after a few more days.
My initial impressions of these skins are they are a great alternative to a slim case. They are not going to provide you with lots of drop protection but they will prevent you from getting scratches and scuffs on your brand-new phone.
And the most important part of this thread, http://www.stickerboy.net/pages/oneplus-one-skin-series is where you can get them.
I prefer dbrand but they advise putting skins over the sandstone.
I love their skins. I have it on my iPads and iPhones. I ordered it for the oneplus as well. I can't wait for it to arrive.
Update
I have uploaded a short video of the Wood skin to You-Tube.

These look nice, but as an anal person who loves perfection, I know I will hate that the back cover of our phones are not smooth (bumpy texture) and therefore, those little bumps underneath the sticker will annoy the hell out of me.
Seems these are not really meant to be used on the sandstone black. IMO looks like crap with thr texture beneath it.

" The term*anal retentive*(also*anally retentive), commonly abbreviated to*anal,[1]*is used to describe a person who pays such attention to detail that the obsession becomes an annoyance to others, potentially to the detriment of the anal-retentive person. The term derives from*Freudianpsychoanalysis."
So quoting Wikipedia he can be anal without typos.
And end of off-topic.

Flashed, re applied root automatically with twrp, re-apply the scrolling smooth mod, now, my One, it's simply perfect for me.
Thanks Oneplus :good:
I haven't had a chance to post my mini review until today. You can see a couple of pictures as well:

I have not had any problems installing the skins on the sandstone back. Stickerboy uses 3m vinyl that has great adhesion without leaving residue. You want to avoid low quality skins that can harm the sandstone.
Thanks man!
does anyone has cutouts for the back of the opo? i am planning to make one for myself at home. i am having trouble in making the one plus logo cut out.
it is going to be a dirt cheap project. will be made in less than a dollar! i will never pay 9$ for a back when i can make similar one for significantly less money

Full Screen Protector

Hey guys,
Does anyone know a full screen protector like this?
1) I want it to be full transparent
2) No coloured bezels around
3) Covers all the front side of the phone (from top to bottom and left to right)
4) Don't care if it is plastic film or tempered glass
Most of the protectors I have found, they are small and leave gaps on all sides of phone that are not covered.
Thanks!
Check this out.

It`s a film that covers full screen, is totally transparent and without any bezels. 3mk is one of the biggest screen protector makers from Poland. They are sending their products all around the world (UPS delivery) I`m using it on every of my phones. I`ve tested it on Galaxy S6, LG V10, Lg G6, Oneplus 3, Nexus 6P and now on Xiaomi mi a1

Here it is withouy case
Alright thanks a lot! I think I will order it!
I was like you looking for fully trans but I gave up. Fully transparent glass are hard to see, because of the curved borders, they either have to make shorter glasses or hide the glue in the colored borders.
I'm currently using this one and Im really happy:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ger...mi-Mi-A1-6-5X-For-Redmi-Note/32848554909.html
It has color borders, not fully transparent... but quality feels good, it's really close to original look. Its hard to put in place and align the soft buttons with the notchs, but if you manage to do then it looks like there is no glass at all.

Does this one have little dots on it? I've bought several of similar ones, but they have annoying little dots on them.
Edit: I saw that you've already answered in another thread, so I think I'll buy this one.

Yeah, the glass part is similar to normal (short) 9h tempered glasses. It makes it a pain to put correctly but looks amazing.
Does it cover part of the screen at the side?

It covers the full front and has a little curve in the edges, but its not 100% curved to reach the metal part like in a S7 or similar protectors. With a case, you wont see any gap.
