mo said something on twitter sense 7 will come with android M (i think they will just skip 5.1 or they will not because of the MMS thing).
there is GPE htc one m8 Roms and even stuck Roms 4.04.1700.6
the custom Rom s that comes with 5.1 is (ether GPE based or CM based) you can test them out personal preference.

Of course. There is already a "leaked" ROM in the Verizon Development forum, and one with tweaks (SkyDragon). But more "official" versions should be on the way.
Flash like any other ROM. You may need to update your firmware, or have broken WiFi.
My phone is currently running on lollipop 5.0.2..I don't like the lollipop os cuz its laggy nd offers bad battery backup.is there any way I can downgrade it back to kitkat 4.4.4..(with sense 6.0..not stock android)the original htc one m8 eye Rom.....

Hello people, i just bought an unlocked Gray HTC One M8 (GSM Unlocked). Its model number is "0P6B160". Its a brand new one with stock 4.4.2 with sense (Official, non rooted, non S-Off, locked BL).
I think i can convert it to the official GPE ROM easilly, My main concern are the ram, fluidity, battery life.
I know that with GPE Rom 4.4.4 it will be smooth and stable with lot of ram available. I wouldnt put 6.0 on it (GPe) But ive seen videos of the htc one m8 running 6.0 official with sense 7 and runs awesome. I ask you guys in your experience if you prefer this phone with sense 7 and marshmallow or this phone with GPe and 4.4.4?
I personally switch between Marshmallow GPE and Sense. Both are great but I suggest you try a de-bloated Sense 7 ROM first with another launcher. It overall feels smoother than GPE imo.

Stock rom, no. It was announced when 7.0 was released that 7.0 would be the last update by htc for the m9.
As for custom roms.. Wait and see. I'm surprised one isn't already out.
My HTC one m8 camera stop working after marshmallow update, it works on KitKat and lollipop, even custom nougat ROM I installed on it.
