Hi All, I have the latest Windows 10 Mobile build with an Android app installed, but this app uses the camera, and when it launches, i get the following error "Android camera encountered an error, please restart the device".
Camera, Microphone, doesn't work yet.
How - and why - do you install an Android app on to your W10M device?

10166 or 10512 or 10514 or 10536 have projest astoria.
project astoria was some sort of experiment, which has ended a while back. most things didn't work yet, and won't be fixed. btw, how did you install an android app in the latest build? the latest build, and a few builds back don't include project astoria, so you're on a pretty old build

Thoretically, it is possible to maintain AoW on 10549, least for the lumia device.
theoretically! for the lumia devices owners, we can choose the slow channel to update to the 10166, then according to the manually deploy method, deploy the project astoria manually to get a "legal" AoW . if successful, we could switch back to fast channel to update to 10549 while maintaining it.
this method depends on getting a "legal" AoW on a slow branch build like 10166, which is highly doubted. So if you really really want the AoW back, I still do not suggest you try it. cause nothing guaranteed! So like me, I rather stay on 10536, wait the manually deploy method to update.

it may work ,we also need new wconnect tool for 10549 to deploy in this version, all we can do deploy all apks in 10166,gabe said some of your apps(may be android apps) may not work need reset.if that is the case we can't use them on 10549
oh right, that's another problem. So, just stay 10536.

ya i know but even if you get aow manually we need to update wconnect tool.
after 8.1+insider slow leads to 10166,then you get 10536 max by fast ring there you can't go 10549,
for now waiting is the solution,until they release any 10550/10565 like that

For me original adblocker by Sandix works on my 830 10.0.14328.1000.
Didnt worked on lumia 640 xl.
if you have full filesystem access on your phone you can just copy a modified hosts file to windows\system32\drivers\etc
I want to use the automatic update feature of the store, but did not want to let it update Lumia Camera.

How about to ad lumia camera to blacklist? HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\PackageManager\Blacklist ?
Or, a xap deployed app can be updated from store
EDIT: i can give you the version 4.9.1.2. as xap.
Or, you can extract your own variant, make it xap an deploy

I think that only block update.

can someone upload a working old version of Messenger appx that will run on Windows 10 mobile Build 14.393?
P.S. i have already tried to install Messenger 11.0.1 but it is encrypted and it won`t install.

it has been disabled at the server side, only solution that comes up is to edit the app and mask it as a currently supported one so it can work again
other than that, the app is useless now

Hi,
I have already tried to install the old version from the above link but it won't install. When I put it on a Sd card and try to install it nothing happens. I also have installed Interop Tools on my phone and tried to install it from there but it says - the app is encrypted... sth. like that.

Download Windows phone SDK 8.1 lite, connect your phone to the pc with device portal activated, open Application deployment 8.1 and deploy it. There are lots of tutorials on how to do this

Hi,
I managed to install it with Windows phone SDK but the app is no longer supported - a message has shown stating from 29th of march the app can no longer send messages and to install the new version. So I have installed the new one - at least i have managed to install the older version of Facebook. Again thanks for your help!

Sorry to hear that. It's a shame 'cause the old one slowly recieved updates and worked better than the messenger beta
