Hi Samir
Did you have enough time to do the charge test ? I'd like to buy some cables for my OPT.
I ordered a couple of these adaptors
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/USB-...le-New-Macbook-Oneplus-Two-2/32432538845.html
But I'm not sure about quality... And those cables are nearly the same price.
Thanks

Just tried out the Amazon HAMA USB-C Cable and it fits poorly.
Even touching the cable interrupts charging / communication isnt working at all.

Hi i have faced no such issue with Orzly cables
Here is the result of short test done
Time for 1 percent charge
Oneplus Cable which came with Phone around 3 minutes
Orzly C Type cable around 2.2 minutes

There's a month delay on getting the Orzly cables via Amazon. Instead I ordered a cable from Monoprice and their Type-C conversion cap.
http://www.monoprice.com/pages/usb_31_type_c

Thats really strange because the C type cables were the first accessory available by Orzly

Thanks for the review. Probably gonna pick up a couple of these cales :good:

Just bought a 5 pack from orzly for 12.99. Not bad!

I did too, received em pretty quick. They charge as fast as the original cable. Great build quality.

The unbranded USB A to C cable in my country is hard to find. (Thailand)
(I just found one price is massive 16.7 USD. for each (100cm. long))

I ordered a Vinsic 3.1 Type C on amazon. There is a coupon code I used, I don't know if it still works for 2 dollars off. VTJKQWRG
I ordered the OPT on the 3rd and It has not been shipped yet. I have the cable and no way to test. Reviews are positive though.
http://www.amazon.com/Vinsic-Chargi...ls&ascsubtag=f402d30a391849e29fe1585f4f3a3e46

I bought three of those multi packs (containing 4 cables) to share with my brother who also bought an OPT. Cheap and from the looks of it, good.

Working 6FT micro usb charging cables

Does anyone know where I can get properly working 6ft micro usb cables that actually charge the phone?
I bought one off ebay and it was completly junk, my phone would drain faster than it would charge.
Something under $10 would be ideal.
Thanks

Amazon, purchase the mediabridge brand. About 6 bucks if I remember right.

Might also consider MonoPrice.com for your cables. They are cheap and supposed to be as reliable as any big brand.
Personally, I get the Amazon Basic cables, but so far I've only needed a maximum 3' cable.

I use a 6ft white kindle charger and it works as well as OEM. If I recall correctly, it was only ~$10, I purchased it on Ebay.
@Amazon bought Samsung branded ones for $2.50 a pop. I've been buying and using these for years and have not had an issue yet.

AmazonBasics USB Cable 2.0 A-Male to B-Micro 6 Feet / 1.8 m
Been using it for a month now. Charges the phone perfectly
I have bought many cables from digitalkynectonline on Ebay. The cables have held up very good. I have bought 6ft and 10ft cables and they are reasonably priced. The ends are molded unlike some of the cheap cables you get on ebay. The cord is heavier than than alot to and seems to take alot of abuse.
Try out PortaPow
I got this for my road trip and found it extremely effective in providing AC power when a normal cable (the one that came with my HTC) did USB charging.
This allowed me to charge while streaming music and navigation and kept the phone fully charged my whole road trip. It works in any computer or USB port to allow AC charging for your phone

Another vote for Mediabridge. Very inexpensive, very well constructed, and they stand by their products. Had one go bad and they replaced it very quickly. Great people to deal with.

broke my Nexus 7 microsd cable..where to find oem replacement?

This morning I woke up and the microsd cable was broken, I guess in my sleep I bent it and it won't charge any more..(just the cable part) from the charger. Is there a place online to buy the oem original asus cable or something compatible? Something that will charge as fast as the original one.
I use a genuine BB cable from a 9900 Bold and it shows charging at AC rate, not USB.

Pretty much any micro usb cable from a reputable manufacturer will work (its the chargers where you get the differences). I've used my S3 cable, an old Motorola cable, and a monoprice (generic) cable for charging it and other devices with no problems.
Some generic cable don't work very well. I've had charging problems. You can get the Motorola cable pretty cheap on amazon.
Mine stopped working after about 3 weeks. The cable was never bent or even removed from the wall adapter either! It's very possible that you didn't bend the cable in your sleep, and instead the cable just stopped working like mine did. Since then, I've just been using one of my many HTC cables plugged in to the Asus wall adapter that came with my N7 FHD. It works perfectly!

This is true! I think the post you quoted would have been better stated by saying that any cable FROM A REPUTABLE MANUFACTURER should work just fine. Not just ANY cable because, unfortunately, there are many 3rd party cables that are just junk. If you have a cable from your current or previous phone, and it's a phone manufactured by a reputable company, then it should work without a problem.

Fixed my post I've never bought a no name cable but I can imagine if they're cheaply/poorly built they'll have terrible impedance and charge too slow.
Also note that really long cables will charge slower (unless they use lower guage wire)
For Monoprice, avoid the 24AWG ferrite bead ones (the ones that go for about $1 for a 3-foot one). While they seem like quality cables at first, I've had 4 and 3 of them have gotten flaky over time (the D+/D- ones broke on one of them so it doesn't talk to a computer anymore, and the other two often lose connection when moved around).
I have a bunch of different standard cables from eBay (different lengths), even the colorful ones. All work without problems. It's a digital cable ( 2 data and 2 power lines). if it's not broken or shorted any cable should work. Of course if you approach the maximum length (5m -15 ft) of usb and the cable is not up to the specs it may start failing but for 1-3 m should not have problems with any cable. If we speak about the power adapter (not cable) it's another story. There are many variants and not all provide the specified power, but if the specs are correct the 2A and 3A ones should work. Car adapters , an even more different story. I'm not using my Nexus 7-2 in car (have a build in Android navi now), but I used the first gen Nexus 7, and I tried 3 different adapters until I found one which provided enough power to charge the tablet with GPS and navi on (most will let the tablet slowly discharge). I think this model require less power so maybe even some which did not work will work now.

I did two tests both using the Asus power adapter that came with the device and these are the specs for it from the Asus website:
Output:5.2V 1.35A/7W for other USB device
Input:100-240V AC, 50/60Hz universal
I attached two pictures using battery monitor widget. Just adding in too my n7 is unlocked and rooted but completely stock other than that. The first picture is with the Asus USB cable that came with the device and the second picture is with my 6ft premium cable from monoprice. Sorry if this isn't what you were asking for.

I haven't actually been able to test the time it takes to fully charge since I usually charge it overnight but I'll try to run some tests and time how long it takes with the different cables and I'll post my findings. From what I've seen so far from using it, I haven't noticed any difference with charge time between the stock cable and the monoprice one With my experience using it to charge my droid razr (xt912) definitely no difference with charge time compared to the stock motorola usb cable. I'm sure with the n7 it's totally fine.

That's hardly any help, do you not think he did that already?
To the OP, I can't recommend any specific cable to you, but I do have some experience with some of those "OEM chargers" that are often advertised on Amazon. I ordered 2 of them off amazon, and both of them were not actually OEM chargers and they both barely worked. One didn't even charge my phone (emailed the seller and got a refund, but it's the principle), and the other one had a faulty tip that didn't sit tight in my phone. The only thing I can suggest is being careful, sorry I can't link you a cable. Hope you find one.

I know this might seem out of left field, but Motorola's MicroUSB cables have always been incredibly reliable for me. They're made tough and any deep operations I may do (S-OFF, adb sideloading, etc) work flawlessly with them. They're not the perfect price like at monoprice.com but if you don't care about price and just want quality, Moto ain't too shabby.

[Q] Any good USB type c adapters?

Hey guys, so after I bought the OnePlus 3(Still don't know if II did a mistake when not buying the 3T), I saw my friend that has LG G5 also has a USB type c to micro USB converter, I decided I could use one my own but every adapter like this is pretty much Chinese, costs less then 1$ and I don't know if it's safe to use.
Also when I bought the phone I received it with the US charger so I am using an adapter from US to EU, are those safe too?
Type C adapter alone can't change voltages or amps, so as long as you use good cable any adapter will be fine. I'm using some random 2$ adapter that I found in a local shop and I'm happy with it.
Just check the reviews if there are any, if it people aren't complaining, it's good.
And yes, using US to EU adapter is also OK as the voltage conversion happens after that anyways.
