1. Flash the 10C KDZ using the "LG Flash Tool" and method in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
(you will have now lost TWRP and root)
2. Re-install TWRP and install Supersu following the method you originally followed

Thanks..

And disable automated ota updates when you're finished if you don't want this to happen again.

3. and NEVER EVER take an OTA update when rooted or bootloader unlocked

I recommend after each update to make clean install

has anyone with the SEA variant tried flashing the Euro Open KDZ? They are both h815 so it should be fine right?

There's a flashable zip here which contains the stagefright fix, meaning it's the latest update, even though it has a different version name. It's from the Taiwanese (?) or whichever other version of the h815. Works on our international unbranded phones.
DON'T TAKE AN OTA
No, you can't update your phone wit ota if you have root. Is there twrp available for h815?

I was in the same case. This is what I did:
I updated my rooted 10c (locked bootloader) to 10d (stock kdz image) with LG Flashtool.
After reboot, I switched off the phone BEFORE first setup.
Then I used the command tool to flash a rooted 10d.
I didin't loose any app, setting, or whatsoever...:good:

Yup!
Someone was nice enough to upload a pre-rooted 13B image.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-g4/general/vs98613b-saved-image-rooted-t3258794
Complete directions to install root are in this thread.

Remember, keep your rooted image on your phones internal storage incase something happens. You can always re-flash it. But if things go really wrong and you are already on 13B software, there is now a 13b KDZ available at the following link.

13B OTA update is ONLY for Verizon users. It will brick your phone if you try installing a different firmware on your phone than what its designed/intended.
You need to wait for your phone to get its OTA update notification. Then uninstall Xposed if you have it installed. Un-root by running KDZ for the CURRENT software version you have. Then take the OTA update. Then make your own proper system image (Step 1). Then using Ubuntu to inject root into the system image you made (Step 2). Lastly, root your phone with the rooted image you made (Step 3).
Any LG G4 can be rooted as long as you know what software version you have and can follow directions. Question I have for you is what software version do you have? Is it rooted? Do you have Xposed installed?
This thread will guide you through on how to do it, especially since you might need to make your own rooted image. Just READ all of it and FOLLOW all the directions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586
If you decide to root, remember to KEEP an image on your phone in case you get stuck on a bootloop tinkering with phone. Can then easily flash that image. Especially if a current KDZ for your software is not out.
Good luck

Why would Verizon ever send an update to non verizon users? You need to have a Verizon SIM card in your phone to be detected by verizon and receive the update I believe.

I already update from rooted 11A to 13B with KDZ flashing method, with no issues!
You are ready to go!
Hi Fellow XDA members. I have a stock 11A Verizon LG G4 and I am not a Verizon customer (switched from Verizon to T-Mobile pay as you go plan since I do not need the data plan). When I check for system update in my phone, it says I have the latest updates already installed. What can I do to get around this issue? Can I use the 13B KDZ to update my phone software or will that brick my phone? Please help. Thanks.

There seems to be some confusion..
Basically the question here is I have a Verizon LG G4 VS986(Running stock 11a) but using it with a different SIM card and thus stuck on 11a.
So is it possible to manually flash 13b kdz to upgrade to 13b
I know I am asking it again but just want to be sure as there are 2 opinions here in the thread.

That is good to know. Someone else posted on another forum saying they tried it, were having problems and it did not work. But glad to see it does. I think he and a few others thought it made sense that 13B KDZ is a full package that would update kernel and bootloader to latest version no matter the previous software version, but wanted to play it safe and not brick anyones phone.

If I downgrade to Lollipop from Marshmallow can I root?

Hi Guys,
I tried rooting my Marhsmallow LG G4 now and I couldn't get passed the step where you type in "ID" in accordance with this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765.
I read somewhere that it was because I upgraded to MarshMallow.
Now - I want to know - If I downgrade to Lollipop can I follow the above root again and it will work?
Thanks!
Yeah.its possible. I returned lollipop from mm using LG up. Used to inject root and I'm using currently my g4 with root access.my recommend try to inject root. You don't need to open bootloader lock.

I tried to load kdz which download lg-phone-firmware.com with LG flash tool but it did not helped.I tried load lg up then I returned to LL.I didn't get any problem.when you back to LL from MM and root LL.you will continue to get OTA update if you dont install a custom recovery But you cant install OTA update.you will get OTA but you can not install.it warn you that 'your device has root access' etc.you can not root MM KDZ right now without unlocking bootloader

Bought new LG3. How should I go about rooting? Update first?

So I bought a new G3. It'll be there today, and I don't know if I should update to MM first then root, or just root, twrp and then load a custom ROM.
There isn't any need to update to MM right? Since we're all here doing custom Roms, I can always just flash a rooted stock MM ROM right?

Which model? Anyways, on my D850, I updated to the latest version (had to keep forwarding date after each update so get the following update, because the AT&T version wants you to wait a day between updates), which I believe was the Lollipop LRX21Y. After that, I used this guide for rooting:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197
Note that the distribution did not have a "reboot" script, even though it was mentioned in the docs. Create an empty text file called "reboot" without an extension and type one word LEAVE in it, then it should work. Or simply pull the battery out after rooting to exit download mode.
And use this guide for TWRP (make sure you download the correct version of autorec from that page):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/apk-flash-twrp-autorec-thanks-to-t3081396
Sorry, can't believe I forgot the model. Its a vs985 and it was OK 10b. So I used stump and twrp manager. All is well now. Thanks all!

I think you have to flash v30b. Kingroot is not working good with v30c. But before do anything make sure your phone model. D850 or d855.
