I have same issue here

Only solution I have will void your warranty so if you don't have other option do it:
Unlock bootloader, flash cwm or twrp recovery and install stock rom
P.S.
Let me know if you want detailed instructions

@josko545, Yes please. If you can write it.

Same problem here ! I want the instructions and the rom pls

If this is regarding HTC Desire 300 301e you have my attention.

Hi, first I want to say that I am really sorry because I am late but if I can still help here it goes:
1. You need to visit HTC desire 300 rooting guide here on xda(it is easy to find)
2. Download all requrements from that page to your computer.
3. Now you have to unlock your bootloader(wipes data):
-to unlock first visit htcdev and create account with real email
-select to unlock bl and your device
-follow the guide on htcdev page (in short you will have to connect your device with usb and get device identifier token which you submit to htcdev page, after that they generate unlock code and sent it your mail finally you flash unlock code to device and confirm that you want to unlock)
4. Now with unlocked bootloader you can install custom recovery (img file is on rooting page)
5. To install recovery just get device to fastboot, open command prompt in windows and write this command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
(assuming recovery.img is in same file with fastboot and adb)
6. Now you should have installed clockwork mode(custom recovery) and unlocked bootloader now you just have to flash stock rom.
7. Just find any HTC desire 300 stock rom on xda (maybe russian deodexed) and download it to sd card of your phone
8. Now enter recovery (power down-->volume down+power button-->bootloader-->recovery)
9. You should see recovery screen
10. Do all wipes (factory reset and wipe dalvik cache)
11. Format system
12. Select to install zip from sd card
13. Search for rom you downloaded earlier and flash it.
14. Reboot system and everything should be fine (it maybe need more time for first boot).
If you stuck on any step feel free to ask, hopefully it won't take me half year to answer, once again I am really sorry about that.

[tutorial] How to Unlock Bootloader and Root your Htc One V

Here is a simple tutorial on how to unlock bootloader and root your Htc One V.
Do this AT YOUR OWN RISK and I don't guarantee it will work on all Htc One V (but successfully done on my Htc One V (PrimoU)).
First: Credits go to:
1) paulobrien for his tools & guide
2) bagofcrap24 for the stolen unlocking bootloader tutorial..
Second: It is good to have official RUU for your Htc One V version. You can find the official RUU HERE(credit : JMZ) & HTCSync in case you something goes wrong and you need to revive your One V.
Or make a nandroid backup after you successfully unlock the bootloader. How ? Read further below. So read fully before you attempt to unlock bootloader and rooting.
Third: the tutorial
Unlocking Your Bootloader
Note: After doing unlocking bootloader, all your data/apps are gone so make a backup to your PC first.
You will need to run the initial setup again.
1. Go Here "http://www.htcdev.com/" and create yourself an account on HTCDEV.
2. Download These Fastboot Files
3. Make a new folder on your C: drive called fastboot.
4. Extract The Zip downloaded in step 2 to the new folder
5. Go Here http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/ and select "All Other Supported Models" and "then begin unlock bootloader"
6. Yes, Tick both Boxes, Proceed
7. Skip up to step 8 as we have all we need for the first 7 steps
8. Power off your phone by holding the power button down for 5-7 seconds (the three keys will flash a few times then it will power off)
9. Hold volume down button, the device will boot to HBOOT
10. Select Fastboot With Volume+or- then press Power once (you'll be in fastboot mode)
11. plug your phone into your PC and open a Command Prompt.
(windows XP - Click Start > Run > type CMD in box then press OK
(Windows 7 - Click Start > type CMD in search box then press Enter)
12. cd to your folder where we put fastboot files cd c:\fastboot
13. type this into your command prompt window fastboot oem get_identifier_token
14. select & copy the text as per step 9 on the HTCDev website
15. paste your identifier token into the box at the bottom and submit
You Will Very Shortly Receive an email from HTCDev with a link to the second part of the instructions and your "Unlock_code.bin" attached
16. download the "Unlock_code.bin" from the email and save it to the same folder that we extracted fastboot files to in step 2
17. type this into your command prompt window fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
18. The Display Will change on your phone, press Vol + to accept and power to confirm.
Congratulations You Have Successfully Unlocked Your Bootloader
UPDATE: Read the IMPORTANT note added below
Rooting with Superboot for GSM Device (Primo U)
1. Download r1-primo-superboot.zip to your computer and extract in any directory.
2. Download the modded boot.superboot.img
3. Replace the boot.superboot.img in the folder that you extracted just now (r1-primo-superboot).
Or download one of the Superboot that relevant to your device HERE
4. Power off your phone by holding the power button down for 5-7 seconds (the three keys will flash a few times then it will power off)
5. Hold volume down button, the device will boot to HBOOT
6. Select Fastboot With Volume+or- then press Power once (you'll be in fastboot mode)
7. Connect your phone to PC
8. Double click ‘install-superboot-windows.bat’
Rooting with Superboot for CDMA Device (Primo C)
1. Download r1-primo-cdma-superboot.zip to your computer and extract in any directory.
2. Power off your phone by holding the power button down for 5-7 seconds (the three keys will flash a few times then it will power off)
3. Hold volume down button, the device will boot to HBOOT
4. Select Fastboot With Volume+or- then press Power once (you'll be in fastboot mode)
5. Connect your phone to PC
6. Double click ‘install-superboot-windows.bat’
Once it complete, the phone will reboot on its own. In app drawer you will see a SuperSU icon, click on it and update SU binary then you are done with rooting your Htc One V.
You can try any app with root access to confirm it is working.

IMPORTANT
As some people forget to make a nandroid backup for their stock ROM, after they successfully unlocked their device,
when a soft brick happens, it will be a big problem to be back on stock when they are unable to find the official RUU for their device.
So make sure, after successfully unlocked your device, don't do anything else yet, flash the CWM recovery and make a nandroid, make nandroid and nandroid of your stock ROM.
Download the Recovery for GSM Device:
CWM 5 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28153112
Direct download link : http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-5.8.4.5-primou.img
CWM 6 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1871243 (the latest version as at 05 Sep 2012)
Download the Recovery for CDMA Device:
CWM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749798
How to make a nandroid backup ?
Once the CWM recovery installed:
Press power once (to go to hboot)
press volume down/up to navigate the menu to RECOVERY, press POWER once
Once in the RECOVERY menu:
click backup and restore
click backup
the backup process is running. It will be a few minutes to complete.
once complete, check whether the backup is successful
click backup and restore
click restore
you will see your backup files, e.g: 2012-06-12.0.13.04
click Go Back or use the back button
click reboot system now to boot your device
once fully booted, mount your sdcard to PC, browse to \clockworkmod\backup and copy the 2012-06-12.0.13.04 folder to your PC as a second backup in case something is wrong with your sdcard.
2012-06-12.0.13.04 is an example only, you will get a different no.
Alternatively, you also can use TWRP recovery:
GSM version - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721749
CDMA version - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764183
Now you are ready to do the rooting process.
Once your device is rooted, you are free to do whatever you want to do with your device, to flash a custom ROM, a custom kernel... whatever.
If soft brick happens and there is no official RUU, a stock nandroid backup may helps you
It doesn't work !!!!
It stucks at -waiting for device- in
11. type this into your command prompt window fastboot oem get_identifier_token
It works perfectly when s off and root. But why cant i gain root access when i already have SU app?
I tried to update the SU but it failed on gaining root access and busybox list.
When i used root uninstaller app, it asked me for adb access which i dunno. What do i have to do?

I don't see why rooting is a development issue. Development is for, well, software development like ROMs and recoveries, etc. Rooting is required to develop, but isn't development per-se.
I am planning on buying this phone.
I just have a few questions.
What is S-off and S-on?
Also, what is RUU?

I just give a basic explanation:
S-Off - security off - you can change everything including hboot partition layout, radio, system, data & recovery
S-On - opposite of the above, all cannot be change (which normally with a locked bootloader)
S-On + unlocked bootloader - you can change only system, data & recovery
RUU - ROM Update Utility - and exe file which consist all the OS files to be installed to the phone.

How do you toggle S-On to S-off?
Why is it recommended to have the RUU you said one should have?

We have to wait until a developer finds an exploit.
To root, it is mandatory to have S-OFF?
Can I just make the root without the S-OFF?
Im here again:
How can I make S-OFF in my HTC One V, the HTCDev teaches seeks to remove the battery, but the HTC One V has internal battery (you can not remove)?
Someone who has made S-OFF on your HTC One V, could you help me?
(sorry my bad english, im speak portuguese only)...

You cannot do restore factory settings when you moved some system apks out from nand.
In order to flash a RUU:
1) you need an official RUU for your device.
2) you have htc usb drivers installed on PC.
3) relock the bootloader
in fastboot mode type fastboot oem lock
4) flash RUU
Do you have some kind of note of your actual software version number ?

Maybe I have to push system files again with adb?

4. It doesnt respond.
I have just did above mentioned steps and it doesnt boot up... PLEASE HELP
while its booting and it gets stuck on boot animation boot into recovery do a format clean cache dalvik cache then restore the nandroid backup.....
Also the cause of this is because you didn't do a full wipe for data system cache dalcik cache.......reply what happens
So the next time you wanna flash it follow the steps carefully cz I did it and it worked normally
Also you should be careful if you are primoC or primoU

**** if Lloir is saying that your phone is bricked then your doomed.I don't know if there is a way,you should ask Lloir cz he's a dev
Never tell anybody outside the family what you're thinking again.
if you plug in your phone to your computer:
1. do you have LED on? as in charging.
2. it is recognized by PC?
don't worry it is not bricked. the thing is, you flashed the kernel and the phone does a reboot after that automatically.
do you have a custom recovery installed? cwm, twrp... it was one of the steps from the tutorial.
if you do, head over to the developer section, take Hasoon all in one tool. connect your phone to your pc, open the tool, at the bottom 2nd box, you should see "Reboot in Recovery". select that and press the button.
now your phone will reboot in recovery.
here, you should wipe:
cache
dalvik-cache
system
factory settings
now select to flash a rom (in twrp recovery it is called install in cwm i guess is flash a custom rom or something like that).
select the cm9 rom that is sitting on your sdcard.
after this is finished, reboot.
you must do these steps after you did the first two questions above. if your phone gets led, it is not bricked.
Dude tell us what you have exactly done.step by step from when you unlocked bootloader till it didn't boot

I don't know whether you really bricked your phone. What I can see here is your phone is out of battery. Plug it to a wall charger and leave it there for atleast 4 hours or the best 8 hours.
Now back to step you taken:
1. Correct
2. Correct (but that is not recovery mode, that is bootloader/hboot mode).
3. Wrong... you should flash a recovery first.
4. Correct ... now your device run out of battery
5. No battery.
So the correct way... after you fully charge your device.
1. Download the rom.zip
2. Take out the sdcard, connect PC and put the rom.zip onto sdcard, put back the sdcard to your device.
3. Download a recovery (either CWM or TWRP).
4. Press Power On (assuming your device is fully charge and not bricked).
5. It will get stuck at ""This build is for htc use and blah blah", press power button and hold it and you will see the three button blinking and your device shutdown.
6. Release the power button, hold the volume button, the device will boot to hboot. Press power once, it go to fastboot
7. connect to PC, flash the recovery. Same way like you flash boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
8. once done, press power once, it will go to hboot, select recovery
9. do a nandroid backup as you still have a stock rom as I don't see anywhere you said you already flash a ROM (or am I missing that?)
10. Select the rom.zip and install your desired rom.
11. Once complete, reboot run setup and you are done.

DUDE!
Your phone has nothing. It is not bricked. It is in perfect shape. Its just, that you need to do some steps in order to make it work. I'm sorry that no one was able to answer you but it was an easy one.
What you need to do is following:
SEE HERE FOR DOWNLOAD THE CWM RECOVERY
Steps:
download the zip file and extract (From the link above) (you will get recovery.img file)
Download and install the Android Standard Developer Kit, I placed the folder at C://
I think fastboot.exe have to be downloaded seperately because it is not available in the latest android SDK Link
Place the recovery.img where the fastboot.exe is located (bundled with the SDK)
Now open command prompt and navigate to your Android SDK folder by pressing cd
Now type:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_the_recovery.img (the name will be recovery with the extension .img)
after that just boot into bootloader and from that menu, using your up and down volume buttons, use RECOVERY.
Now assuming that you've installed only the kernel, what you need to do is, find the menu for mounting your SDCARD under the CWM recovery (it should be in advance menu or something)..
Mount the sd card and place the CM9 rom on the sdcard.
after it is finished loading your rom onto the sdcard, unmount it.
now:
Wipe everything! This include: Cache, Dalvik Cache, and most importantly System.
Now go ahead and install CM9 after and ONLY after you've wiped those. You can double wipe if you are in doubts. After you install the rom, reboot.
Now it should boot ok!
Keep me posted if you managed to do it!

[supertool] [CWM 5.0.2.8] Yet Another Root Guide

I know there are quite a few root guides out there but I just wanted to share exactly how I rooted my Wildfire S and installed CWM Recovery
1.
First things first: is your bootloader unlocked or S-OFF? To find out, turn off your phone, then hold in the vol- button and while holding it in, press the power button. Do not let go of volume down until the bootloader menu appears. It should say at the top LOCKED or UNLOCKED and/or S-ON or S-OFF. If it does not say either S-OFF or UNLOCKED, you will need to unlock your bootloader before you can root the device so proceed to step 2. Otherwise, skip to step 3.
2. (Bootloader Unlock)
Warning: this step voids your phone's warranty!
Head over to HTCdev and register an account. Then click the Unlock Bootloader button on the main page. It will walk you through all the steps to unlock your bootloader. Nothing to add to their instructions really. If you get really stuck here's a video guide
3. (Root)
There are several root methods but I chose to use htc supertool v3 which you can get here
Credit to frigid for this tool. The tool is not mine.
Extract the zip file that you should have downloaded from that thread. If you didn't download it, do so.
Open the SuperTool.exe file in the extracted folder.
You should be confronted with a terminal window with this text:
Code:

Press 1 to prep with zergRush and press enter. then when it comes back to the main menu, press 3 and then press enter. This will attempt to root your device. If it doesn't work, try using option 2 instead of option 1. If it still doesn't work, try both again. Hopefully your device will be rooted by this point.
4. (Install CWM Recovery)
There are two ways I'm going to go over to achieve this, the ROM Manager method and fastboot method.
BTW CWM Recovery is something you need if you're gonna flash any ROMs or mods or anything really..
ROM Manager Method
Go into the Play Store and search for "ROM Manager" (the developer is called clockworkmod)
Install the app and open it.
There will be an option to install recovery. Use it.
It will install CWM recovery in a few seconds.
To get into recovery mode, boot into bootloader (you should know how to do this by now) and choose recovery in the menu and it will boot into recovery
Fastboot Method
Find a recovery image. (Make sure it's for the right device!)
Boot into bootloader then select fastboot in the menu (with the phone plugged into PC). You should know how to get into fastboot by now, anyway.
Open a command prompt in the same directory that you have the recovery image in. (If you don't know how to do this then it's a good time to learn how to use Google )
Use this command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
If the recovery image was not called recovery.img then type the actual name. It will always end with .img
It will flash teh recovery :silly:
The End.
Please say if I missed anything out. I wrote this 100% from memory
A clean guide.....but the only problem is that there are too many of them....and they all have been buried down after sometime....leading to noob questions again

[Q] Help with my (bricked?) M9, please?

I've got a T-Mobile M9 with a locked bootloader and no recovery. I am unable to boot into the system and thus can't enable USB debugging. I foolishly relocked it trying to flash an RUU and now it won't boot. I have tried re-unlocking it thru fastboot but the commands are not recognized.
Please help?!?

I don`t have m9 now but if you do this solution, maybe your phone boot up again ( this solution works on m8 )
1- install latest HTC usb driver and latest adb tools
2-connect your phone to the charger about 30 minutes ( if your phone has low battery charge )
3-then you should have unlock bootloader file from htc site ( to unlock your phone again )
4- boot in the bootloader then unlock the bootloader again
5-after unlocking boot to the bootloader again and instal latest twrp recovery for T-mobile m9
6- after all you should download a custom rom like ( android rev... or viper rom or...)
7- copy the zip file on the external memory then put to the phone
8- go to the recovery do full wipe then install rom from external memory
9 -your phone should good
after all you can s-off your phone if you like
good work:good:

I actually tried this method already, but the fastboot commands to unlock the bootloader kept failing. It said that it was not a recognized command (or something along the lines of that). I already have the Unlockcode.bin from HTC, but am unable to flash it as stated above.
I really appreciate your suggestions though.

Actually, now that I think about it, fastboot already recognizes the M9, so USB debugging shouldn't be a problem. I'm still not sure why the fastboot commands aren't being recognized though (fastboot OEM get_identifier_token, fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlocktoken.bin, etc.)
try the One_M8_All-In-One_Kit_v

this post started on the 20th, I assume he fixed the problem
He double posted on T-Mobile forums and received help over there.
HTC One M9
Hopefully he realized he needed to be in download mode for the fastboot commands to work.
Same Issue

Bootloop while Flashing with S-OFF

Hi guys, I hate to make a new post but I feel like I've exhausted all options. I'm getting a bootloop when flashing Viper 3.5.0 and ARHD 12.0. I have a T-Mobile GSM M9 with S-OFF . My bootloader currently locked. Here are my steps:
1. I've got Super CID
2. Flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0
3. Rooted
Then I wanted to put on a new rom:
4. Flashed different firmware from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/development/firmware-t3068243
I've tried 2.10.401.1 (International) / 2.7.531.6 (T-Mobile US) / 1.32.531.33 (T-Mobile US)
5. Flashed Viper 3.5.0 and AHD 12.0 with the wipe option after each firmware upgrade/downgrade. Each time I boot the phone up (no matter what firmware is used), Android will optimize all the apps, and it will sit at the Android setup screen for a second or two, and then just reboot. Android will optimize all apps again, I'll see the setup screen, and then the loop again.
Anybody have any suggestions? I'm sure I'm missing something simple. I don't need the bootloader unlocked since I have S-OFF, correct? Thanks in advance for any and all help!
Are you able to enter into twrp custom recovery? You can install the ROM zip from there. Other option would be the sideload method.
- Put in the rom you want to install into the same directory where the adb tool is. In your case custom rom isnt it? Rename it to something simple like rom.zip
- Shift+right click in the emtpy area where the ADB tool and your is and open the command prompt.
- Navigate through custom recovery > Advanced > ADB Sideload. Your phone should now be waiting for the rom you are about to send.
-Go back to your command prompt and type the following; adb sideload rom.zip
Note that the rom you are sending needs to be complete and have all the files needed in it.
Hi Nikolay82, thanks for the reply. I'm not having an issue flashing the ROM. The issue i'm experiencing is that my phone goes into an endless bootloop after the ROM is flashed.

Unlock your bootloader and try again. As far as I know the M9 prevents the system from booting correctly if the bootloader is locked and TWRP is installed.
The rom should flash the boot and fix the problem. As for unlocking your bootloader please check the following;
1. Register here; https://www.htcdev.com/
2. Once registered login and select the "Unlock Bootloader" > Get Started > Select your device.
3. If you do not see HTC One M9 listed, select Last option which is "All other supported Devices"
4. Click on "begin unlock bootloader"
5. Follow the instructions and open the command prompt where your ADB is and prepare phone for fastboot mode / download mode.
6. type in; fastboot oem get_identifier_token
7. You will now get a block of text, mark and copy only the area starting from <<< Identifier token start[block of code here] Identifier token end >>>> (mark also those <<<< and >>>>) c
8. Go back to the htc.dev where you logged in and paste in the code under "My device Identifier token" field and submit the query. Navigate to your e-email where they sent you the token and download file; Unlock_code.bin
9. In that mail you will also have a link to continue unlocking the bootloader process, click it,
10. Place the Unlock_code.bin file into the folder where your ADB tools are.
11. Open up the command prompt again and type in; fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
12. New dialogue should appear asking you if you want to unlock. Please note that if you proceed everything on your phone will be wiped out, so make sure you backed up things you need.
13. Go back to bootloader mode and it should say "UNLOCKED". Same with download mode.
Thanks @Flippy498! Unlocking the bootloader did the trick!
