xperia s battery drain - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hi, after 3 happy years with my xperia s, here it is a major issue. Three weeks ago, in the middle of a phone call my xperia shuts down (battery at about 85%) and no mean to restart, it was like dead. No led if in charge or connected to my pc. After three days, a friend opened the phone, pull of the battery, reconnected the battery and, here it goes, it started again. But, another issue now, battery drains at 10% each hour in stand by. I changed the battery with a new one, same thing, i had a hard reset, same thing. Battery status shows 30% consumed by the screen (but it was only 15 min !) and google services 25%. Anybody has an ideea how to fix it ? Thanks for your answer.

Battery problems

Hi
Yesterday I've got my BA off from the charger, put on some music, turn off the screen and left home. After about half hour, I've noticed that the battery is still on 100%. Ooookay, that's just not right, I have my BA since 8 months and it should be around 95%. A little bit later I've noticed that the battery meter is basicly shows 100%, then goes down to 99%, goes up to 100%, and so on. I've done a soft reset, nothing, battery is on 100%. Took out the battery, put back a few moment later, and bang, my battery is at 94%. It works well since then, but I'm wondering, what can cause this? Can it be that it is cold winter here? Or my battery is dying?

I think this may be a general WM problem, i had the exact same problem with an Acer N30, although only a hard reset fixed it. Possible that the battery just needed a reseating?

battery weird fail/very fast discharge

Hey all,
I have the wildfire running with a stable CM nightly (forgot exact version, but already a good year old I think and never any problem with the battery). I have not recently done anything special with my phone (no new radio, ROM, updates, new apps, ...) but since a week or two I have the following problem:
Charging the phone takes first of all ages to reach 100%. And when it's charged, it will crash about 4 hours later. The battery indicator will be at about 35% or higher just before it crashes (thus not at 0). When I reboot (while charging after the crash) however, it says 0 or 1% left. When I then go to the settings -> about phone -> battery , the battery life just INSTANTLY drops from about 60% to zero (see picture)
This problem appeared pretty out of nowhere. Is this a battery calibration problem, or do you guys think the battery is just at the end of its life? I'm aware that this could just be it since the phone is almost 3 years old (bought on day of release here), but it's just acting so strange.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks,
Maarten
Try the two obvious things
1- wipe dalvik cache and cache partition
2-wipe battery stats
Can you post a screenshot os the battery usage screen
The level indicator is in the first post, the usage (apps etc) I cannot do right now as after wiping it does not reboot anymore (stuck at HTC screen), but it was about 50% for signal and 50% for standby (or what are the 2 largest users in %, I forgot)
Wipe battery stats or manually delete batterystats.bin. Calibrate it. If nothing works reflash your rom. Not a battery prob.
Odp: battery weird fail/very fast discharge
I had similar situation. Change battery. It is broken probably.

There seems to be many battery problems for wildfire, I had to abandon mine because of a similar problem, except it would charge to 100% but then drop to 4% within a few hours and wiping battery cache never helped, tried my battery in another wildfire no problems so in the end I gave up with it
But I remember someone saying it was something damaged inside the phone
Anyway good look with your issue hope it gets solved.

I fixed my booting problem by reflashing the ROM. I also wiped cache/dalvik and battery stats.
The problem remains however. Stays around 100 pretty long, then goes to 80% in less than an hour. And then it crashed around something like 60%. After rebooting it said 34% left.
Guess the only thing else I can try is to completely empty the battery, then recharge it whilst the phone is off.
I'm going to buy a new smartphone soon, so it better just work another month !

Yea, wipe battery stats again, sue ur phone till its 0% and charge up to 100%, keep on charging for about 20 mins.. try then if battery shoes properly..
Doesn't seem to solve it... Completely emptied the battery (or at least I'd think it is empty, see further), then charged for like 8 hours whilst phone is off, then wiped battery stats in recovery. Then after rebooting first thing it did was crashing again.
The crashes often seem to be related with internet/apps. I now have internet and poweramp app off and it works fine (no crashes), but when I turn these on, sometimes after a minute it crashes, pretty weird
Also after some crashes, about 15 minutes later I can suddenly reboot, then it showed 15%, then it crashed again. After reboot (without any charging) it showed 65%... The indicator is completely ****ed up it seems...
Guess there is nothing to do but getting a new phone as this is too annoying. Thanks for the help though !
Batt voltage meter defect
I have a exacly same problem.
It is the voltage meter problem. Mine wildy shows 4.07V at fully charged battery which if you measure conected battery on its terminals mulitimiter shows 4.273 so its off by 0.2V. Now the phone will never light green led, it think battery is not charged fully. I checek this with 4 years old and new original htc batts. Same thing, voltage meter defect! If you charge it to full, multimeter shows 4.237V on batt terminals, reboot it and get a spike to 92% it suddenly drops to 78% even though mains charger is still connected and charging! Internal Volt meter also reads dorp from 4.07 to 4.02! :crying:
There i also thread on Desire Z forums of same thing happening here.
Is this HTC using crappy mobo components?

Htc wildfire is no more released now. It stopped in 2010. This has the answer. That is one of the bug with wildfire.

[Q] Massive battery problem

Hey Guys,
i got my ZL 3 or 4 weeks ago, and can say it´s absolutly awesome, but since ca. 2 weeks, i have a problem with my battery. The problem begun, as i found my battery completely discharged, so i put it on the charger. But it didn´t charge the whole night. In the next morning it startet to charge, i waited till 100% an took it off the charger. Over the day, i watched the battery drain, and it was more than normal, the battery went empty, after a 5 or 6 hours with 95% standby time. At home i charged the phone again up to 100%, ab pluged it off, the next morning, the battery had lost not a single percent off its charge. So i went to work, with the phone in my pocket. A little later the phone got really hot, i pulled it out and, found the battery with only ca. 55%, so i turned off the phone. 45 minutes later, i turned it on again, and the battery had only 27% left. And so it goes on the next days, with more or less battery drain, some days the battery holds 10 hours perfectly, and at some other days it only holds 4 hours and less. And now the charging procedure have problem too, when i charge the phone via USB, it charges unbelieveble slow, and even discharges sometims , but when i charge it with the power adapter, it charges unbelieveble fast, you can watch the percentage rise in minutes. I tried the STAMINA modus but, it didn´t help at all, and the screen is on the lowest brightness.
And i have too say, i don´t have any apps activ, and 3G is only on for a few seconds sometimes.
The phone isn´t rooted, or everything else, it´s completyly stock.
I hope someone experienced any similiar problem, and have a solution for me, because it´s an awesome phone and i didn´t want to miss it.
(Sorry for my not so good english)
Yours faithfully
Tim

The Battery Drastically Drained in seconds!

Hi guys. Im new here. I just wanna share about my Z1 compact latest battery problem kinda frustrated me lately.
I bought the phone 2-3 months ago, already with Android Lollipop 5.0.2. Since the purchase, I didnt really face a problem with the battery life as it lasted about 12 hours per charge due to my heavy usage of the phone.
But a few days lately, my phone being worrying me as the battery doesnt being as normal as always. For example, it can drain the battery drastically from 88% to 67% in a few seconds when the screen is off (in standby mode). Sometimes, in the middle of the usagefrom 39%, the phone suddenly shows the battery low warning with a 1% battery remaining, and without having enough time to reach the charger, it shuts down by itself.
In rare cases, I caught my phone drained the battery drastically when the screen is still on from 15% to 1% less in a minute.
The phone wasnt rooted and I didnt anything else besides my daily normal usage. The latest apps I downloaded before the problem occurred is Waze.
I tried everything to save the battery like using the Stamina Mode, force stops some apps, slides away all of the running apps in the background but failed. I even factory reset my phone and installed all the apps the way it used to be but still didnt solved the problem.
I still have about 8 monts of Sony warranty but I need you guys help first because I need to use my phone for work right now. Please help and reply.
Thank you. *Sorry if my English isnt that good*
When the battery jumps from 39% to 1%... Does it stay a long time at 39%? Or from 39 to 1 in few minutes?
Just curious...
Sounds like a warranty issue to me. You could try to find out what is causing heavy drain like with BetterBatteryStats. But no app ever should cause such drains.
Sound more like your battery is not okay.

The exactly same problem with me .I have 100% battery and indicator stays 100% for a half hour than drastically drains to 1% and shuts down.
Change your battery! I had the same Problem. I changed my battery with anotherone original from Sony, but a few weeks later the same Problem: quickly battery drain.
So I ordered me a battery from e-bay but NOT one from Sony! Now a few weeks later still NO Problems. Everything runs Ok now. NO battery drain at all.

G4 old and new battery issues - turns off when it still has battery

Context:
My dear LG G4 started having some battery issues this summer: it would sometimes turn off at around 15%, usually if I tried using the camera app. It would turn back on, at <10%. Left idle, it would actually increase the battery %.
About 1 month ago (maybe a bit more), the problem started to increase: it would turn off at ~40% - but not always, rarely. Last week, this happened everytime. Sometimes it would turn on back with ~5%, sometimes with 30%. Anyway, weird behaviour.
So I decided to buy a new battery. Can't be sure it's 100% genuine, but reviews say it should be fine (looks 99% like the old one).
Hoping it would finally solve my issues, I put the new battery in the phone. 5% charged - well, it's new, ok, np -> charge it to 100% and then go out to lunch.
The drain was awful, in less than 30 minutes it was at 75% (moderate usage at most). When it hit 74% it turned off. Problem is, this won't even turn back on. Got back to the office, plugged in charger - battery still reported 74%, phone turned on. Disconnected the charger, 1 minute later, phone turns off.
It's like when it hits 74%, it stops working.
Any ideas? Phone is still in warranty for a month, but not sure if this kind of problem is covered.
It's also my second G4, first one was replaced due to bootloop in summer 2016.
Download Accubattery app from Play Store, for the old battery , check it's health, repeat for the new battery.
My 2.5 year old LG G4 still has bad battery life because you know the SD 808 heats up quickly specially on hot summers or while charging, the battery's no1 enemy would be heat! So with the help of the app , I found the battery health had depreciated to 69% of it's 3000 mAh (that is 2069 mAh ) If your battery is new , I think your battery health should be 90%-100% in the Accubattery app!
Buy a new battery its done
