Moto 360 finally available to buy in Japan ??? - Moto 360

Was browsing the web and thought Id take a look at moto's Japan site.
So since XDA wont let me post links, go to motorola japan to look.
Motorola recently updated their Japanese webpage and the Moto 360 is the start page.
Good news (for me) considering Motorola has zero presence in Japan.
For example; the phones they have on the page include razr and razr HD !
Does anyone have any info on this ??

What is so interesting in the fact that Moto 360 is available in Japan ? You could buy one years ago from eBay or from one of the online US stores, if you wanted one.

Well motorola hasnt sold anything in Japan for years. If you look at the webpage, youll see !
Getting stuff from ebay is a hassle if you live here - the fact that they seem to be back is a step in the right direction

Plus the range of android wear watches is very limited here. And I dont want to be rude but this would be interesting to people living in Japan who are members here - whats so interesting about stuff coming the the US or UK ???

Ahem, are you talking about the fact that Motorola is selling it directly or about the availability?
Because I bought the Moto 360 last year already on Amazon Japan.
Cheers
Tom

I don't want to be rude either. And believe it or not, I do understand your position. I live in an UE country which never gets the goodies launched in US and UK. And yet I can easily manage to buy the things that others are getting first, at good prices. We live in a global market, prices are similar, warranty indeed is a problem but I for one don't think that I needed warranty work more than 2 times in my dozens of devices purchased.

I will be rude....
Just kidding. The moto 360 is way overpriced on amazon.co.jp because it is imported (from us amazon?). I think 2nd gen is $500 (¥49999) right now. This is great news cause I can get one cheaper and with a warranty and maybe with some google goodies, like play store credit or something. 1st gen is like $250 right now, but $150 on us playstore.
Edit: Looks like a $150 moto 360, gen 1, is only 6-12 bucks to ship to Japan from us amazon. Not bad, but with the weak yen, we still take a hit, so it would be better if priced at ¥30000 on the jp google store. But, I do not see it on the store here in japan. Really want a 360 2nd gen. hmmmm......

I have used mobile zaps services before, I got a Nexus 5 case from them.
I was extremely happy with the shipping speed, the product was a genuine spigen case. No problems with them at all, highly recommend them.
And when I ordered the case you could not purchase it in Australia, it was a US only accessory, I want to order a 360 from them but I would like to know when they are planning to ship them out.

Wouldn't mind knowing myself, took a punt on the LG Watch R at the weekend, which is nice but would prefer the Zen. I have it preordered at Expansys at the moment, got in while they were taking orders rather than just the register interest page they have up now.
I had some interest in LG G Watch R because of the circular display but I think the watch is a bit too chunky. Will have a look at expansys

I'm currently using the LG Watch R and had the same thoughts as you, but it's not as bad as I imagined it would be. However I still have my preorder with Expansys and will decide on which one I want to keep once it arrives. Hopefully soon!
Hi all,
I pre ordered mine here: http://www.expansys.fr/asus-zenwatch-eu-265396/
Please note I'm from France.
Anyone got any news with UK release? Hopefully comes before Christmas so I can get myself a Christmas present
Noticed this morning that Simply Electronics list this on their site for £184.95. Also that they've got 5 in stock and make no mention of it being imported. Considering a UK launch date or price hasn't been announced (that I know of) I'd be very sceptical.
UPDATE: A glance at some Google Shopping reviews suggests they might not be on the level.
they are based in HK and have some very dodgy reviews - actually rang them this morning asking whether it is uk stock and this wasn't clearly answered. I then asked about customs duty and they just said its an all inclusive price - bollox. Expect duty and RM charges on top....
I actually remember I nearly bought a camera off this lot a couple of years back but they aren't exactly truthful about location of item or taxes etc - means you'll pay customs and it'll be regarded as a grey import without warranty.
I think its sad that ASUS are dragging their feet on this. I've looked at big daddy in the US but again with their $40 fee and customs, its getting expensive!
Need an american friend to buy and send as a gift!
Anyone heard anything more on the UK release?
Avoid Simply B'S they are HK based

I decided to try se after I discussed at length where the watch was coming from (uk or abroad) , the warranty, etc. I was told it's coming from the UK. Has a UK se warranty. Ordered last week and the amount of bull I've been fed since is unreal. Been told due to amount of orders they should be able to post it by mid December! Even though they originally said 10 days..... I queried why it should even take 10 days?! They are full of sh.....
If and when it arrives, if it's not a UK warranty, I will charge it back through my credit card as I will have been mis sold the item according to trading standards. Mmm I will then follow up with trading standards and ensure they are put out of business based on their mis-sellibg practices... At least in the uk/as a UK seller.
Anyway, still no UK date grrr

Don't order from Simply Electronics. The product they have is not certified anywhere and is dodgy. They quote low prices to draw people in and you very stung after. I got taken in by the cheap price if a macbook air but it wasn't European certified or certified by America FFC. They're customer services is rubbish and they don't reply and when they do they try to get you to keep the product at a reduced cost. I had to complain through PayPal and eventually got all my money back. Lesson learnt. They are based in HK but have warehouses in UK and Europe. If you ever do order then be wary as they're not that easy in returning and will try to get away with charges to deduct from the amount you paid on receipt of a return. I would suggest you all keep away like you would with the plague!! All the reviews online are rubbish and are made up to make them look good.

Expansys have changed from a "keep me notified" page to a pre-order page. I don't know whether that's due to a site relaunch (can't recall whether I've seen that design before), or whether it's changing.
BTW, for a while now, I haven't seen Simply listed on the Google Shopping page when searching for the Zenwatch.

I pre ordered back in October but nothing since then obviously. Dunno if I should pre order again! Had a price when I first did it. £159.98 is the price that was given.
Just looked on simply be and it's on their site for pre order just under £200 - site has changed a lot since I made that horrible mistake of ordering from them a while ago.

I have a zenwatch in my possession in the UK. It was ordered from the US via Big Apple Buddy. I ordered it on Friday 5th December at around 2100, paid by PayPal and had it - with shipping & tracking information and regular updates - delivered by FedEx by 1030 on Monday 8th December.
The total cost was around $285, including service charges, but felt this was still pretty good value in the realm of early adoption, given the interminable wait for the damn thing to reach the UK.
I can vouch for the fact that Big Apple Buddy are entirely safe and reputable.
And the watch? Well worth it, especially with 5.01 sideloaded.
I looked at them^ but they came back much more expensive than this!
I've just ordered a Gear VR from Samsung US using .comGateway - very reasonable $20 plus postage.

Hlw,
One of my friends is now in Singapore, I wanna purchase Moto360. Where I can get Moto360 in Singapore? What will be the price? Please its Urgent?
I guess you could always find someone on Swappa who would do international shipping... Otherwise, I'm clueless.
Singapore is not officially selling moto 360. Either order from Amazon or look for person that are selling.

Korea v30

Hi
I know a few folks here ordered their v30s from S Korea, could you guys share some links for me to order? I heard the Korea version comes with B&O headphones as well?
Thanks
I ordered mine on amazon.co.jp (from korean SK Telecom), but I suppose it will ship only to Japan. And yes, it had B&O headphones in the box.
Also I tested display phones here in korea and haven't come across with screen issues yet.

It's the cheapest option out-there. Where you from? Consider the fact that you will also have to pay VAT when clearing customs in your country + import duty tax, unless your country does not apply it. Import duty tax in most countries is applied by the same principle - if there's a phone producing company in your country import tax is added, so to protect the local producer.

Got mine from Korea through EBay. Got the plus, came with b&o. Honestly, it's pretty good considering it's a bundled pair, but beyond that I don't think it's anything to write home about. They're rather bulky and uncomfortable for me (could be because I've been using klipsch x12s which are abnormally small and light) and the sound feels..hollow. At least that's the best I can describe it. If I didn't have a decent pair of earphones I would want them bundled but if not, I don't think I'd give it too much thought.

Np. I actually cancelled my first order of V30 from South Korea -> http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-V30-64GB...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2748.l2649 (refund was very smooth and fast - it took 1 day), since I would not be able to cope with the fact that device, which considering all shipping costs, VAT/customs duties, would end up costing me 1000 USD, would feel cheap in hand. I will wait for it to become freely available locally and buy it then for ~600-700 USD.. BTW, LG has the craziest price drops -> LG G6 when first became available locally in April, 2017 and it was going for 800-900 EUR . Today I can buy new LG G6 for 370 EUR. Crazy!
The more read the more I feel that although its awesome it does not actually hold up to that hefty price tag.
Pros are more or less known but from the cons I see the following:
- banding/color issues <- rather rare issue, but its still out-there;
- camera is nowhere near perfect <-issues with OIS, image stab., selfie cam is crap, low light is ****;
- plastic/cheap feel <-phone above 600-700 USD needs premium feel. Just look what OP did with their OP5 @just 500 USD. It feels awesome build wise!

Last question! What would the updates situation look like? Do Korea phones get updates out of Korea?
When my N5 broke, LG gave me an AT&T G5 (h820) as replacement, and since I don't live in the US, I haven't received a single update in the last year or so.
Edit: Btw, Wonda Mobile assured me that the phone would get updates.

Well, comparing the sound quality to my Sennheiser IE80 (5 of 5) and Sennheiser CX880 (4 of 5) earphones, the B&O ones are somewhat 3 of 5.
Also, I didn't like B&O ergonomics either, I was barely able to fit the bits into my ears (the earphone part is too short) and the control block is attached to the left wire is too close to the earphone, difficult to see and press buttons. I would buy something else.

Don't get me wrong, I almost bought the OP5. it is a great phone for what it is.. My worry with the V30 is that its availability is sketchy and LG are not letting people know when it will be available in various markets. I'm in Australia, and even the LG reps have no clue when its dropping... Its becoming a unicorn phone. So much so I'll probably have to buy one from Korea to enjoy it

Ordered mine from Wondamobile. Arrived to Uk in 3 Days with B&O earphones. I have used these people a few times and the service is excellent and they are always at a good price.

Its same **** here in Europe/Latvia. LG hasn't given any, even ~release date, so I almost bought it from South Korea .
My order of V30 through ebay from South Korea was actually a misclick while I was browsing through ebay on my OP5 . Misclick happened on October 7 and thankfully SK had holidays until October 11, so my order was not processed/ shipped out so the support allowed my to cancel and get full refund although that particular seller (gn_australia) does not offer refunds explicitly (just exchange or ebay money guarantee in case the product does not meet the description). I want that v30, but in a reasonable way - eu retail price, local guarantee and no extra costs like VAT and customs duties while shipping from abroad..

Hi whats the situation on bootloader unlock/root for the Korean devices? Are they as locked down as the US carrier versions?

[NVM] Any Australian 7T HD190x users ... ?

I'm very seriously considering buying an HD1905 on the US OnePlus site, they've got a decent discount as the 8 is about to launch, and I can grab genuine accessories at the same time. Shame the AUD is so crap right now, but that can't be helped.
I'm interested to know if there are OP7T Australian owners out there, what model variant, what carriers you're on, and if there are any issues with reception.
I'm on Telstra so I'm especially interested to hear from other Telstra users.
I've looked at the various bands in the specs, compared it to the OzTowers guide (that I luckily managed to grab before it shut down), and also looked at frequencycheck.com
My preference is to buy it from OnePlus US. While there are a bunch of "local websites" that purport to sell re-flashed HD1900 units as "Global HD1903", I would much rather get an untouched phone out of the box. The US HD1905 seems to have the broadest international carrier band support from what I can divine from reading.
One of the "local websites" says to email them any questions. So I did and the answers were basically "dunno, ask the carrier" which is pointless since OnePlus have no presence in Australia.
Despite having many Samsung Galaxies over the years I've decided not to consider them. Our Huawei P20 Pro has been good but tech support is hopeless, and no bootloader unlock service anymore, that alone rules them out for me.
So the OnePlus 7T is my preferred choice ... looking forward to hearing from any Aussie users out there.
My friend wanted the 'best phone for the money' and bought this phone on my advice. They ship them from China, but it arrived the next day! They happened to have one in stock in Auckland.
My friend was thrilled but when a truck ran over it (after 3 weeks), not so.
So she's around the next morning and buys another one (~NZ$860). This time it took about a month to arrive as THE VIRUS slowed everything to a trickle.
We have a great website in NZ pricespy.co.nz and you'll have something like that in Oz.
Buying from the US is fraught. Postage costs an arm and a leg.

Thanks for the feedback, I've actually just bought a Galaxy S20 from JB as they had a decent discount for a newly released phone. The deciding factors against the OnePlus on this occasion was the total lack of Australian support, lack of IP68, the many negative service/warranty related user reviews on different sites selling them, and the idea that I'd be facing massive turnaround to ship it back to the US for warranty.
Shipping from the US isn't a problem for me as I regularly send consolidated packages through a 3rd party shipper.
Plus in these uncertain times we're making an effort to support the local outlets.
