Best unlocked version on At&t - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

I'm looking to return my 928A and buy an international version that will have more dev support. Can't find a definitive answer as to what model works as good LTE wise. T,I,G or F. If anyone could help that would be great. Don't really think the T mobile ones are bug free in the dev area but I would like the most options like CM one day.

Currently using an unlocked G928T on ATT, and the only problems are that VOLTE and WiFi calling don't work.
Other than that, everything's fine and there are already some great ROMs popping up for it
Good luck with your search!

I wasn't sure if they were identical. I was surprised to see so many variants. Do you need to keep messing with apns when you install a rom or can you just install an international version?

[T-Mobile version] WiFi Calling feature

I don't own a GS3 but I am just curious if the WiFi Calling feature is a standalone app or if it is built into settings like on the One S. I saw one of the universal roms had the feature and just curious on the method to get it ported to a universal based rom.

it is built into the phone.
From my understanding, it is a T-mobile exclusive. It has been ported to other devices in the past. I love my wifi Calling..

Far as I know, T-Mo, Cincinnati Bell and Rogers Canada are the only N. American carriers that have wifi-calling. It's also now free if you sign up for the free version -- doesn't even come out of your minutes. But, you have to ask for it.

Which T-mobile Rom for T989D Model Phone?

Hi - i have a T989D Telus Unlocked Phone that I use on T-mobile USA, I had flashed it I think about a year ago, but phone has been giving poor performance.
I needed some help if someone can point me to a thread or instructions to flash the most stable/best rom available so i can have t-mobile usa features such as wifi calling.
thanks!
Have you looked in development there are quite a few in there... Stable is a matter of personal opinion in my eye since one person may claims issues that no one else has. As for wifi calling just make sure its a GB based stock-ish rom. Just go through the threads and see which one suits your needs
Pretty much every TWiz-based ROM will have WiFi Calling.

Thanks - so the instructions in the Dev area should apply to the T989D model as well, right? I mean there is no difference other than this one was from Telus, so instructions should still be applicable?
Thanks!

[Q] Flashing GT-N7100 with T-Mobile ROM for Wi-Fi Calling??

Hello all,
I have an international version Note II (GT-N7100). I am on T-Mobile in an area where most of the towers now use the 1900mHz band. I'm wandering if I can flash a T-Mobile branded ROM to get the use of Wifi Calling, which I've cherished the ability to have (sometimes with hacked apks and libs), on previous phones. Would flashing one of these ROMs work well with my version of the phone? Or if even better, is there a package I can get like THIS that will push the wifi calling to my phone?
If it is workable for me to flash one of these ROMs, should I be flashing a radio as well? Or any other tips to make this conversion work out?
Do not flash an LTE Note 2 modem on the non-LTE version, they have different hardware. I know there were some porting guides to modify ROMs to go from one to the other, so this won't be a straight-forward flash.
You should be able to flash t-mobile roms and get the Wi-Fi calling feature.
I am using it on my AT & T note 2 and Wi-Fi calling is working flawlessly.
Try Tweaked ROM from T mobile note 2 section and make sure you keep your existing RADIO/Modem.

Thank you both for the replies. I will try to get one working. Had some issues for a couple days recovering from trying Android 4.3... lol I like to experiment.
Curious as well
I bought this international version as well I live in the states and have been using it with att but now I'm about to switch to tmobile. I have rooted the phone but I am curious if I can flash it with a stock tmobile version of firmware (where ever that is) and use it with our services here. I understand Ill need to reset the counter and all that crap too. I have experience with rooting and installing CFW's but having a tmobile stock firmware that will accomplish things like wifi calling and ota updates would be very beneficial at least until that final firmware update is released then I will probably root it again.. real shame they wont let you OTA update just for a simple root but then again I guess with warranties and law suits and the chance of screwing up your possible custom firmware maybe its a good thing. Anyways point me in the right direction HAHA. The phone is amazing so far and works flawlessly with the towers here. Thanks. I checked the tweaked firmware for tmobile seems like it might work like you said but Im extra cautious at times and so I would like to know If what i stated above will work ok or not ???? Its not a huge deal if i cant have ota updates but yeah I would def like to have wifi calling and maybe some of tmobiles other things but yeah Looking forward to some advice
Same issue here

[Q] Which G3 Variant to buy?

Hi im about to sell my nexus 5 because i want the G3 (b/c bigger screen better camera better battery) i am on ATT network and i want to make sure i can root and install custom ROMs on my G3. i had an ATT Galaxy S4 last year and was never able to root it because the bootloader was locked, thats why i went to the N5. i dont want this to happen again so heres what i want to know. which G3 variant should i buy? The D850, D855, F400k/s ? I need the phone to work on ATT's LTE network and i want to be able to root it and install custom ROM's hopefully cm11 when its available. i love my stock android on my nexus but i want the G3. was looking at the Find 7 and One plus one but their impossible to find. i have been searching the forums for a definitive answer and i am tired of looking. hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you for any help its much appreciated!

I'd say T-Mobile for the reasons stated above.
T-Mobile as long as you understand a couple the main issues: You lose the 850mhz band and will have to enter your APN anytime you flash an update or anything. You will also have to unlock which can be had for $10-$30 depending on the source. I had a T-Mobile GS5 and it works fine overall but there are other things I found out as well. The T-Mobile version did not support AT&T Carrier aggregation which helps give you beeter speeds and bandwidth on their network. I am not sure the G3 will miss this feature though.
I would tell you this, if you can wait a few more days/weeks, then do. I think we have some very good devs trying to unlock the bootloader. The G2 is not much different from the G3 and it was cracked. If it looks promising then definitely get the AT&T version. If its not going to happen after a few weeks of them working, go with T-Mobile and live with the few compromises.

i will be selling some devices to cover the cost of the G3 so ill probably wait until i recieve the money from pay pal which is usually a week or so and if it looks promising ill get the ATT version otherwise ill get the tmobile. inputting the apn isnt that much of a hassle and unlocking is do-able but like you said if i can avoid those issues i will. Thanks for the advice everyone!
I too need to know the very same with a slight tweek. I already posted in the forum yesterday with not much difference in the answers.
Which varient is the most flexable if I can get it unlocked
I want to switch between cricket gsm and sprint.
I have a deal on a sprint g3 for 400 if the owner hasn't sold ot yet I would not like to jump through hoops and can believe each varient will be cracked in no time so band wise rootwise recoverywise, gsm unlockedwise, unlocked bootloaderwise and qi enabled wise which varient is the one to buy ?
Thanks

T-Mobile Stock Rom on SM-N9300?

Hey guys, long time xda user and flasher here. I bought the chinese/hk model N9300ZHU, I was wondering if I can somehow flash the STOCK T-Mobile firmware on it through ODIN or would I have to root it and just flash a rooted tmo Rom through TWRP instead of ODIN? Any help and insight would be appreciated !
Bump. Anyone?
Hello, I dont have the answer to your question, but I am thinking about buying the SM- N9300 for AT&T here in the USA. Just wondering how has it been working for you? LTE, apps, connections, etc. Should I have any concerns? Thanks

Everything is fine as far as connections and network go. I just wanted it to show LTE instead of 4g. Anything thing I miss is VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling. I saw a root method for tmo and at&t users where you can flash sprints files through ODIN and have Wi-Fi calling work but dunno if the 9300 supports all this.
Okay, thanks......Ive also read that its a little difficult to put your Google account on there. Something between China & Google. But i guess some people have managed to put Gapps on there somehow. Is 4g considered LTE here in the states?
