Dear m919 users, let's come together to sign this petition to put some pressure on T-mobile to update m919 to lollipop.

I signed it anyway but just an FYI , youcan flash the lollipop roms and kernel from the i9505 forum. The Tmobile m919 and the i9505 as well as the 1337 are the same phone with the same specs. The only difference is the LTE frequencies for high speed data, which can be adjusted with a carrier unlock. I honestly don't think T-mobile will release Lollipop for our 2 year old phones, especially with Android M around the corner and the new phones from apple samsung etc. I have flashed countless I9505 lollipop roms on my tmobile m919 with kernels with no issues at all.
So far this is the best most stable Lollipop TW rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427629.

It's a nice idea but T-Mo has abandoned the phone for all but serious security issues (like Stagefright which prompted the OH3 release). In fact I doubt any carrier for any phone will at this point initiate a new lollipop build, with M around the corner. Sure, there might be lollipop builds still in the queue that will come out for a few more months.
For what's worth, I updated my M919 phone to OH3, ran it through its paces, and found when I went to Camera the first time it did a firmware update for the camera. I wonder if that will help with some of the camera bugs floating around out there.
But just the boot sequences T-mo gives are so noisy and annoying, and I had forgotten about them for the year I was on SlimKat. I quickly flashed a Danvdh's Lollipop GPE ROM from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539361
Unless you need T-Mo proprietary features (wifi calling, primarily) your best bet is just to update firmware to the latest, then if you want lollipop, flash a ROM.

If you want mid or long-term support for OS updates on your android phone, I got bad news for you
http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...f-support-lifetimes-for-ios-vs-nexus-devices/
Our beloved T-mobile S4 started with Android 4.2.2 at release (T-mobile version came out early May 2013)
Was updated to Android 4.4.4 (September 2014).
Total of ... 17 months of OS update support (granted there have been other updates, i.e. NK2 4.4.4 and Stagefright).
So you buy your phone on Day 1 of release with a 2-year contract, and they've basically stopped doing any significant updates 7 months before your contract is even over.
For a phone that has the hardware to run the latest and greatest, this is some pretty sorry sh*t.

Pretty sure you don't. Albe95's I9505 S6 port should work just fine. You can find that in the I9505 development forum. There's a port of Albe95's port in the Tmo S4 development forum that was last updated 8/11/15. I haven't tried it, but if you do let us know how you like it.

Signed and gave them my two cents worth -----> "The S4 is still working and is my daily driver. I spent $500 on this phone, the least you could do is update it to Lollipop which isn't even the latest OS from Android. The Canadian version of this phone SGH-M919V has Lollipop, why can't we?"

Update to newest modem and firmware, then install CarHdRom from here.. its lollipop and everything works.
Xposed is tricky on LP so google how to install on lollipop for the guide. It requires a .zip and flashing from recovery, to get xposed working.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2443086
PS any rom for the I9505 will also work just fine on a SGH-M919. They have same chipset and hardware.

The s6/n5 ports work on our m919....currently I'm using albe astra note 5 v2. Read the ril.zip thread for files, etc.

To be honest, the most users on xda forums are just noobs and the most average help u can get it's build.prop with disabled stagefright (NO, ITS NOT A FIX)
At this point, unfortunately, we have no stagefright patch available on n7100 stock Kitkat.
One good soul published the patched stagefright library here on xda, but only for lolipop sammy devices (like note 3 or s5)
About the official OTA update (with patch) from Samsung ... well, we may never get it.
Soo .. what a regular user can do? Use Firefox, don't download video files from porn sites, disable the MMS.... and wait...
1. wait for the samsung official OTA patch (month, half year, never)
2.wait for unofficial recovery zip patch (week, month, half year, never)
3.wait for the official cm 11 nightly rom (the first one published in august should be patched)

Either use one of the latest Cyanogenmod out here or wait for the fix from Samsung.

Use Textra and turn on the Stagefright protection in Settings.
---------- Post added at 07:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:09 AM ----------
We don't get OTA updates of any kind with rooted stock ROMs.
---------- Post added at 07:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:11 AM ----------
CM is hardly a viable alternative to a rooted, stock ROM... in other words, no S-Pen support.
Not only that, but the weak add-ons for the S-Pen like Papyrus or others just don't have it down like the stock support in the OS.
Installing the stagefreight OTA update for L900 Note 2 Sprint. Holy crap.
The official stagefright patch for the n7100 still doesn't exist ? Oh boy.
And now we got another vulnerability: CVE-2015-6602
Even the CM11 is unpatched against the latest CVE. And it can be left vulnerable. We have no confirmation from Cyanogen if the CM11 will get the latest security fixes.

Oh by the way -- You can download the Kernel from here. You must use this app since the creator of the kernel is requesting anyone who wants the kernel to download it from here using his app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andromo.dev276950.app412222&hl=en
This might sound silly but which one of the rom downloads should we pic from his page for the 910t?
Thanks in advance!
sorry i was writing to fast its for N910T and yes it's his n910G MM rom
N910G MM rom
Lol... Now I can't find N910G on his download page...?
Which kernel is it? I've only found the 5.1.1 for the tmobile version. There is a marshmallow one for the F and G models of the note 4, is that the one I flash?

yes
doesn't work for N910W8, stuck on bootloop, could be the AEL kernel problem, but I can't find any other MM kernel could be working on my phone
Hey I booted on my N910T! It took a decent amount of time until I finally booted. Remember anything above 15 minutes means that you're most likely not gonna boot. Give your devices a considerable amount of time.
The experience here is like no other -- It's extremely smooth and you also get the S7 edge.

Thank you guys. Glad you like it.
What's are some of the bugs that we are facing on this ROM. Does it support xposed if anybody tested it out. If yes i will definitely try it out.
Got to the glowing samsung logo, but it just keeps doing that tiny vibration over and over again, and never fully boots. Probably has to do with my W8 though.
So we download the N910G MM version that says not to flash on any other variant? Or N910LP, but asking...cause the title says 6.0.1

Safe ROMs for unlocked boot loader?

I understand there are no safe MM ROMs once the boot loader is unlocked.
Other than that, can we install any of the ROMs for DE devices without worry?

"Safe ROM?" I'm not sure I follow your question.
I would not take the recently released Marshmallow OTA. It will relock your bootloader. And while you might be able to roll back to 5.1.1 and re-root, for me it's simply not worth the hassle. The .tar files developers need to make a Marshmallow ROM for our Verizon phones should be out any day. Give the wizards a week or so after that to whip up their magic. That's one option.
Another option would be to amble on over to the generic Note 4 forum, where there is a healthier ROM development environment. Many of these ROMs will work with your 5.1.1 bootloader and modem. The basic drill for making one of these ROMs work is to ignore the directions for flashing updated bootloaders and modems, flash the basic ROM and any fixes, then apply one of louforgiveno's data fixes. Stick with ROMs developed for N910F/G models.
My personal Marshmallow favorite... it's the only ROM I've tried other than CM13... is Dr. Ketan's. It has elements of both the Note 5 and S7. Does it have all of the newest goodies of the OTA such as Wifi calling? Nah. Since I don't really need it, I don't miss it. But everything I need for it to work does. Your mileage may vary.
Happy ROMing!
If your question is "can I install any of the ROMs meant for a DE on my retail Note 4" the answer is yes. I've tried PaulPizz, CM13, Kyubi, and Dr. Ketan and got them all to work on my phone. You just need to make sure you download all of the proper files and thank the devs. If any MM ROMs do come they will be listed in the "Android Development Section" along with all of the other ROMs that work on this device (retail or DE).
I'm pretty sure what the OP means is that for all those like me who have the Retail SM-N910V, it would be nice to compile a list of all working ROMs for our phones and what methods of installation were used. You have your ROMs that were installed via Odin and ROMs that were installed via TWRP. I'm not sure what the difference is, other than with TWRP you can install more than one ROM, right? Additionally, we want to make sure we're all using the correct files, that is, at least avoid the ones from Verizon that will probably re-lock our phones.

Follow the link to the generic Note 4 forum. Go to the Snapdragon subforum. Pick a ROM. Do not flash the bootloader or modem if the instructions say to. Just flash the ROM and any fixes. Go to louforgiveno's thread with the data fixes. Pick the appropriate fix and flash. The Nameless ROM at quick glance looks like a fairly unmodified Marshmallow TouchWiz ROM. Most of the others are ports, mostly Note 5 and S7 marriages.

If you dabble in this ROM flashing game long enough, you'll find that often not everything works as it should. Flashing doesn't go as smoothly as we'd like, and sometimes some of the features don't work properly or at all. Forced closes and random reboots are also part of the frustrations.
It all works out to a risk/benefit analysis. Will I be happier with my phone being able to customize it further? Will the new features gained outweigh the features lost? On the Dr Ketan's ROM that I'm using, the fingerprint sensor doesn't work properly. I don't miss it since I wasn't happy with the way it worked originally. I've had his ROM on my phone for over a week with the only hiccups being self induced. Recovering my backup makes everything all new and shiny again.

Which version did you flash for Dr. Ketan rom? I am on cm 13 now would like to try dr. ketan, i am a little bit unsure on the exact directions for the 910v from what I have read though as long as don't flash any bootloader files and apply the data fix I should be fine I can always flash back. Question is do i use F or G download for the rom, and what specific order do i have to flash the rom, h-vitamin, and data fix? any help would be appreciated.

So long as you're still on the 5.1.1 bootloader, you can use any version of Dr Ketan's ROMs. I was using the M5 version. I haven't tried this ROM or any of the other Snapdragon variants since I upgraded to the 6.0.1 bootloader. From what I've read people have not been able to get data and wifi to work.
The drill to install Dr Ketan's ROMs is to backup your working setup using recovery, wipe Dalvik/ART, cache, system, and data, flash the ROM, the M5 fix, boot into the ROM but don't sign in to Google or Samsung. Go back to recovery and flash louforgiveno's M3 data fix. (I haven't checked into his thread lately and he may have a fix for M5. Dr Ketan rolled back his base which is why the M4 fix doesn't work.) Boot into the ROM, sign in to Google/Samsung as needed and profit.
Note: I didn't see any provision for HD/wifi calling in Dr Ketan's ROM which seems to be important to a lot of people. I also haven't been to the thread in about a week to see if there's a M6.

Hope you can work it out. I tried every data fix and kernel in every conceivable combination, and nothing worked. I asked louforgiveno if he'd look into it, and he responded he'd have to swap in all the 6.0 stuff into a new data fix for us, so I hope that meant yes! He has been so helpful to all the different note 4 variants.

I already tested it and it doesn't work yet. He built it of off a Canadian MM build, now he's going to build it of off a Verizon build. Fingers crossed!

[All working except call audio and BT] [Nougat] [MM and LP bootloader] Desolation ROM

Hello XDA, I have been working on an Aosp-ish nougat rom for our beloved trltetmo. It has nearly no features yet, since it's an AOSP ROM. I'm a Nexus dev, and just recently started working on the trltetmo because I bought one. I had a marshmallow rom and kernel(but tend not to release stuff to anyone to avoid drama and the eta requests).
Downloads: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=111459
I have uploaded my work to GitHub: http://github.com/TrlteNougat
For now until I get my gpu back, you have to flash this kernel for MM bootloader support: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862667083
Known issues:
- Camera is wonky. It's going to be difficult to fix
- The phone acts like it's a dual sim phone, no usability is sacrificed, it just shows two APN settings and the carrier on Dialer
Features:
None yet, it's AOSPish
What is being worked on:
Bluetooth
Call audio (mixer_path issues)
The kernel source is up: https://github.com/TrlteNougat/kernel_samsung_trlte/commits/n7.0
Manifest located here: https://github.com/TrlteNougat/manifest
Nice! Subscribed.
Test build

This one doesn't reboot randomly. Still has ril and Bluetooth errors. Sound doesn't work. Camera does.
I m not dev. But great to see work on 7 ...cheers to all devs...hoping for a stable one soon thx again
I'm keeping my eye on this thank you

Ril is now partially working. I can send and receive texts. Calls cause a soft reboot, but shouldn't be hard to fix. Still no data connection yet, but that'll be fixed soon enough. Wifi connects but doesn't access internet for some reason. I haven't looked into that any.
Because why not
improper bootloader and in some cases modem can cause Wi-Fi to behave similar to how you have described. I'm not a TMO user but I think there should be several versions newer than OK2
if you have any desire to return to 5.1.1 or keep the option open to do it in the future, you may want to steer clear of the newest 2 or so bootloaders as they may prohibit further downgrading. if TMO is anything like Sprint, anything PE2 and older should still permit downgrades. newer versions I have not tested or seen any info on the topic.
[QRCODE][/QRCODE]ok I did a quick check and you are in fact on a 5.1.1 modem. I don't know if you've updated your bootloader but I get the feeling you would know if you have or not lol
all TMO MM firmware is newer than the Sprint firmwares (PB5, PC1, PD1, PE1, PE2) that I know to not prohibit downgrades, so you're on your own there.
if you believe the test builds to be compatible with the Sprint model, I'd be happy to help test as time allows for it

910T can be downgradable to DOK2 but not below that (unless you use work around and flash 910T2 firmware, which will allow you to go to 4.4.4 BL , and still can come back to latest) but thats a different story, regardless of that , however , you can anytime switch among DOK2 to PE3 to PG2 in any order. I think android N for 910T should be tested on EPG2 and not on DOK2 , atleast should give it a try on EPG2. I think the dev @USA-RedDragon , already must have tried all bootloaders and basebands , i m just replying to above posts.

I tried EPE3 on mm but got too frustrated with the issues. So I've been weary to try it again. But you do have a point that I should try with newer bl/modem combos. I've got a mm rom compatible with epe3, so I might as well flash that. The Odin files are on my desktop staring me down
Side note, the logs point to something bring wrong wkth the code and not a bl/modem -> rom compatibility. But I could be wrong. Never hurts to try

to make it easier ,why dont you just flash EPG2 BL and CP using odin (as opposed to entire MM rom) .and see if it fixes any of the issues with current N build.

I'll do that. Progress is still ongoing with all this. But this week I've been busy with an Android Dev's biggest bane: a full-time job ?

Eh. I have other devs at my disposal. Most don't use XDA, and I tend to not either, but this(like any major version bump on a Samsung) is a big endeavor, so I made the thread for people to jump in if they wanted

I currently have lolipop and I want to root my device and install either mm or nougat which ever is more better and faster and with less problems. Please guide me with which programs to root my device as this is my first time. Thank you for your time

Someone help please
I can somewhat help. I just used this method to get root on KK and it worked great. Post #3

This also helped for r4 specific instructions

I too am actually looking for help for this device once you get to this point. The device is asking to do the official lollipop update, will taking that mean that I have to re-root? And then yeah, is the LP bootloader good to use up through MM and N? Do any of the newer ROMs even work for the 807r4? Doesn't seem to be a lot of r4 specific stuff out there but 805 root method worked fine.
Bump

It seems to me the only Rom that is compatible with the 807R4 is the Superskilled on KK...I wish there was an easier way than reading through each and every Rom release and searching 807, 807R4...Superskilled is the only Rom that mentions it will work for the R4...unless I've missed something...I hope I missed something. A Rom list for 807R4 would be nice. I'd also like to know if I've rooted and installed TWRP can i update to LP then MM? LP might be possible but I don't think MM is because 807R4 did not get MM update yet. Sorry for rambling.

I ended up trying to do the OTA and it failed so I flashed the LP stock image though recovery and lost root/twrp but the same method from above worked fine. I'm happy enough with it at this stage, totally serviceable tablet on rooted LP but it is a shame nothing more will be done for this amazing device because it got stuck with the minority processor. I've actually bought a T900 to replace the 807r4 that I'm going to sell to my roommate who just wants a nice device and isn't a CM addict. Most of the tab pro line had the same hardware as the 807r4 I think? I wonder how difficult it would be to adapt any of those roms for someone who knows how do such things?
T320 - TAB Pro 8.4 WiFi - Snap 800
T325 - TAB Pro 8.4 LTE - Snap 800
T520 - TAB Pro 10.1 WiFi - Exynos 5420
T525 - TAB Pro 10.1 LTE - Snap 800
T900 - TAB Pro 12.2 WiFi- Exynos 5420
T905 - TAB Pro 12.2 LTE - Snap 800
They use adreno 330s just like the tab s too

Thanks, got it. Now to figure out which method works to actually get a root/twrp installation without going through all that again. Any hints there?
