Hi friend, I just see that you had received umi emax mini and umi fair, it's so good. If you can tell me who send you. I also want to get one to review. Thanks

Hi, received mine (ordered last week) from Coolicool and Myefox
Here's the translated (with google) review
Unboxing & Review (you can buy on Myefox):
Review Umi FAIR [/ B] [/ I]
Package, Content, Aesthetics: [/ B]
The packaging is characterized by extreme compactness and the use of recycled cardboard printed with the Fair model and fingerprint; the information on the characteristics and the description of the location of the buttons / functions are within the same area of separation between smartphone and accessories.
Box contents: Smartphone with pre-applied protective film screen, 1 AC outlet USB with Italian 5V 1A and 1 USB cable, 1 Battery 2000mAh; no headphone is extra protective films.
- External dimensions of the smartphone in line with other devices by 5 "; it measures 142 x 72 x 8.5mm for a little more than 160g weight.
- Construction of good quality materials, while economic return good feeling to the touch, the metallic finish of the side frame, adorns the otherwise fairly anonymous and classical structure.
- On the left side we find keys, and the right side we find the volume rocker on the top and the power button slightly lower.
- At the top we are the only audio jack; on the underside there is the Micro USB socket and the microphone.
- In the back top center we find the camera 8 megapixel Sony IMX164 f / 2 [/ URL] (13 megapixel interpolated) and slightly to the side with dual LED flash; down the speaker positioned slightly off center (unfortunately with a planar shape of the cover, the audio will be muffled with a minimum device on the table).
- In the front we find the earpiece at the top, the camera GC2335 2Mpixel f / 2.8 and light sensors / proximity.
- The keys are soft touch and three are inside the screen, unfortunately do not include the menu button.
- Cover removable; the absence of special processes and the material used confer slipperiness.
- Outer pane with pre-applied film from the house; the film does not have oleophobic treatment but after a first approach "difficult to move" proves still acceptable and durable enough. Only negative for the applied film, is given by the fact that, being clipped to cover the entire front surface, the glass of the display with the edges slightly curved, make that the adherence to 1mm on the edge there is not, then is He raised slightly to the whole perimeter; there are still problems of possible detachment, given the protection of the side frame wire.
- Display brightness and good viewing angles; HD 1280x720 pixels IPS LCD screen with colors well played, good sharpness for the category, and white balance after all good (slightly turning to yellow in my example, readily adjusted with aims vision).
- Touch-sensitive and comes with multitouch 5 touches, writing is quite fast with Swype function that you type with two fingers (keyboard used google)
- Two sim slots: Two Micro Sim 4G (with dynamic selection software).
- Presence slot MicroSD up to 64Gb (tested).
- Removable battery 2000mAh declared, to the test with amperomento and crossing data with the weight of about 36g, we found about 1800mAh; however, thanks to the screen shortly resolved and the energy-hungry little cpu, the busy day is completed without any problem.
*- Android 5.1 without any customization and usually 3 launcher.
- Open the app and switch between apps quickly enough .. stock browser with a few bumps as always (Chrome suggest that while consuming a lot of ram makes more accessible navigation)
- Management of good 8Gb of internal ROM that are available in a partition to 5Gb for apps and data.
- Good management 1Gb ram by Android 5.1 .. more than 500Mb of ram vacated after loading some apps into memory at startup.
- Presence of Root factory but unfortunately also a Chinese app One Cleaner for cleaning ram / tool various "carrier of various problems and delays"; I recommend that you uninstall it because you have the root!
Connectivity: [/ color] [/ b]
WiFi b / g with no problem hooking stable, good power.
BT 4 tested pairing with headsets, car and other smartphones without problems
OTG: Properly functioning
GPS: in the media, the outside has fixato cold in 40 seconds, 6 satellites, with accuracy of 10 meters .. I'll have to test it better navigation.
Camera: [/ color] [/ b]
- Main camera Sony 8Mpixel f / 2 (13Mpixel interpolated) that produces most of the shots that discrete daylight; a little slow to focus; camera interface stock Mediatek; the flash equipped with two flash close together, allows some shots in more scarce in the light condition, as long as the object to be illuminated is not too far.
- Sufficient video performance, slightly slower focus which means that arise shuttering; video recorded maximum HD resolution.
- Secondary camera for Selfie 2Mpixel fixed focus with mediocre quality with face detection function.
Bench: [/ color] [/ b]
Antutu 5.7.1 almost 19000 punti..risultato in line with that of other cpu quad core MT6735P 1Ghz.
Geekbench 3 with 1334 points in multi-core test and 479 in the single-core test.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/us...Weighs 160g .. you could do something better!

@megthebest Hi, received mine (ordered last week) from Coolicool and Myefox

So, like it? Upgrade rom with last october 14th version you find in needrom

I bought my UMI Fair from Banggood, and so far I find this device totally awsome! It runs smooth and has great feel to it, build quality is awsome! Fingerprint reader is okay but not perfect, camera is good in good light conditions, so far the battery is so much better than my Ulefone Be Touch 2 (but that is also terrible battery wise)
I give the UMI 9 out of 10 points, extremely great phone for absolute no money!

Also, the screen is made by Sharp.
The battery is a 3050mAh and the rom is expendable to 32gb
It's a TCL Meme Da 3S (TCL M3G 3S) clone since TCL and Umi seem to be working together now
Very interesting phone for $150US
I might order one, except that it's only available in white for now. What do you think?

UMI Emax Mini battery is about 3050mAh.
Oy, this thread died already?
I'm having trouble finding an official section for this phone. I'm SUPER tempted to buy this thing, but I don't want to get stuck on an old OS - need to know that there is development on it... at least to get us to Marshmallow (Android 6).
Where I can get stock firmware for this phone?
Anyone that is interested, the phone will be on sale for just 75$ in about an hour: http://dealsnow.info/2015/10/14/umi-emax-mini-for-just-75/

Thanks for your share too. We are looking for it.
It's a bit odd that this model doesn't support band 20 LTE (800MHz).
I have read some methods to unlock it, however nobody confirm that it works

Theoretically you can enable any bands on the software side, but it won't work because of hardware limitations.
today is arrived!

- Construction of good quality, the materials return a good feeling to the touch, the metallic finish of the side frame and processing cover embellish smartphone.
- On the left side we find keys, and the right side we find the volume rocker on the top and the power button slightly lower.
- At the top we are the only audio jack; on the underside there is the Micro USB socket and the speakek (only in the right part, since the symmetrical opening on the left has no speaker inside).

- Android 5.0.2 without any customization (if we omit icons) and launcher Onetouch (that of TCL M3G 3S).
- Opening apps and switching between apps is not without some small hitch browser .. stock fairly accessible but suggest that Chrome while consuming a lot of ram speeds up navigation.
- Excellent management 16Gb of internal ROM that are available in a 11GB partition for apps and data.
- Good management 2Gb ram by Android 5.0.2 .. more than 930Mb of ram vacated after loading some apps into memory at startup.

Geekbench 3 with 2260 points in multi-core test and 647 in the single-core test.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/user/ 3909297
Geekbench Battery Test (over 5 hours and 30 'screen on time, a little low for a 3050mAh but enough for at least 4 hours of screen on the busy day of work with active data traffic.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/ 138925
Audio:
Good sound quality, good volumes of speaker and earpiece, the other party has no problem and feel the item is free from noise and interference or metallic effect.
Position of the speaker in the lower apt, although the presence of the second speaker for the stereo effect would have appreciated !.
Good vibe and the sound with headphones.
Conclusion:
PRO:
- Price of 130 € for a terminal with characteristics of medium range 2Gb RAM / 16GB ROM and 5 "FullHD that if proposed by a brand known, would have cost twice as much.
- Full HD screen that shows good brightness, color and viewing angle of the display (bright colors and deep black)
- Good assembly, the materials used, the distribution of weight (130g) and the grip that gives the cover with knurled processing.

- Double tap to wake
- GPS with Glonass + Baidu and presence magnetometer (compass) and Gyroscope
- OTG supported
- Led Notification and keys backlit soft touch side
- Total identical to TCL M3G 3S, then Accessories / cover compatible those of the latter
AGAINST:
- SD card can not be set as memory for the installation of APP (photos and videos can be stored instead on sd)
- Android 5.0.2 with some problems of fluidity of the interface and some acclaimed as the memory leak.
- Presence of Chinese app One Cleaner "cleaning system" that makes the device slowed; simply best to remove it from the app.
- 4G with these bands 1,3,7 (then is absent the band 20 to 800Mhz essential especially with the wind).
- Some uncertainty in the fluidity of the interface and too general, which improves putting in developer mode animations 0.5xe GPU rendering and with the help of alternative launcher like Nova.
- Unfortunately not practicable root trying different tools; Umi had accustomed us to the root of the factory and so in this case we were wrong

This is the comparison video between Cubot X16 and Umi Emax Mini:
(Italian language Comments)
can you share also this comparison?
The band-problem (800MHz) of the UMI Emax is still not fixed?? Sad, I hoped they would fix it...
Megthebest - great review, thanks for that! But two questions:
1. You wrote, it's not possible to install apps on SD-Card - isn't it pre rooted, so you can use Link2SD for that procedure?
2. Did you test RootJoy? Because UMI said with RootJoy you can install the newest CM on the UMI Emax Mini.
800mhz band is not fixed yet.
Stock rom comes without root, and you may have to install twrp (chinese/english) and try if with sulersu you can work with link2sd and ext partition on sd.
I have not tested rootjoy yet, i will check today

Bluboo XFire 5" qHD MT6735P 1Gb/8Gb

The new cheap phone from Bluboo was released.
Less than 89$ (75€) for an entry lever 5" qHD with 1Gb Ram 8Gb/rom, dual Sim, 4G and SD.
Also the battery was not bad, 2750mAh, if real, are enough for two days!

Unboxign & Review (Italian Language):
Review Bluboo Xfire
Package, Content, Aesthetics:
The package is matte black, with the brand Bluboo (Silver) in relief and Beyond Your Life (Black) polished; the signs on the model and features are on the sticker located on the back of the box.
Box contents: Smartphone, 1 Power Adapter with USB socket Italian 5V 0.7A, 1 USB cable, 1 instruction manual in English, extra screen protection film (1 already applied)
- External dimensions of the smartphone in line with other devices by 5 "; it measures 140.2 x 71 x 9.3 mm for just over 148g of weight.
- Construction of good quality, the use of relatively inexpensive materials, the thin metallic finish on the frame side, adorns the otherwise fairly classic and economic structure.
- On the left side we find keys, and the right side we find the volume rocker on the top and the power button slightly lower.
- At the top we find the audio jack and the micro USB socket; on the underside of the microphone.
- In the back at the top center we are the 5 Mpixel camera Omnivision OV5648 f/2.4 (8 megapixel interpolated) and the LED flash, and the lower the speaker positioned slightly off center (unfortunately with a planar shape of the cover, the audio will be muffled with a minimum device on the table).
- In the front we find the earpiece at the top, the camera GC2145/55 2Mpixel f / 2.8 (5 megapixels interpolated), the LED flash and the light sensor / proximity.
- The keys are soft touch around the screen and include the menu button.
- Cover removable; the absence of special processes and materials used give the slipperiness and heightened susceptibility to retain fingerprints.
- Outer pane with pre-applied film from the house; It is provided a further film in the package.
- Display brightness average, good viewing angle; QHD 960x540 pixels IPS LCD screen with colors and sharpness well played good for the category.
- Touch sensitive enough, but with multitouch 2 touches, writing is quite fast with Swype function that you type with two fingers (keyboard used google)
- Two sim slots: A Mini SIM and a Micro Sim 4G (with dynamic selection software).
- Presence slot MicroSD up to 64Gb (32Gb tested).
- Removable battery from 2750mAh declared, to the test with amperomento. We found about 2200mAh; however, thanks to the screen shortly resolved and the energy-hungry little cpu, we managed to do a very good score Geekbench:
- Android 5.1 with customization in icons and launcher 3.
- Open the app and switch between apps quickly enough .. stock browser with a few bumps as always (we recommend Chrome)
- Launcher obsolete functions for speed and customization (as council Nova Launcher launcher).
- Management of good 8Gb of internal ROM that are available in a partition to 4.5GB for apps and data.
- Good management 1Gb ram by Android 5.1 .. more than 500Mb of ram vacated after loading some apps into memory at startup.
Connectivity:
WiFi b / g with no problem hooking stable, good power.
BT 4 tested pairing with headsets and car, no problems
OTG: NOT Working
GPS: pretty poor, with cloudy sky outside has also fixed in 30 seconds only 3 satellites, with an accuracy of 10 meters .. I intend to test it better.
Camera:
- Main camera 5 megapixel Omnivision f / 2.4 (8Mpixel interpolated) that produces the shots just enough daylight; good focus but low power flash and yellow.
Camera Interface stock Mediatek; when using the flash or light conditions not favorable and the quality of the shots drops dramatically and the focus is not always correct.
- Poor performance video, slow focus and suffers from shuttering (full resolution HD video and 3GP).
- Secondary camera for Selfie 2Mpixel fixed focus with mediocre quality.
Back camera:
Front camera:
Bench:
Antutu 5.7.1 over 19000 punti..risultato in line with that of other cpu quad core MT6735P 1Ghz.
Geekbench 3 with 1355 points in multi-core test and 482 in the single-core test.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/3563317
Geekbench Battery Test (over 9h and 56 'screen on time, I would say very good for a real 2200mAh and about the CPU and also qHD screen!).
https://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/118709
Audio:
Good sound quality, slightly lower volumes of speaker and earpiece (a classic for mediatek).
Position of the speaker rear which happens to be unhappy if you usually place the device on the table and then playing Expect a loss of volume.
Good vibration and sound with headphones pretty good.
Conclusion:
PRO:
- Screen that despite having a resolution not excellent, showing good brightness, color and viewing angle of the display
- Good assembly and solid feel that the smartphone.
- Price about 70 € (during the tenders on Wednesday at 12:00 you will find it even less than $ 50 if you're lucky) http://bluboo.com.cn/#shop
- 2G, 3G and 4G (on 4G bands 1,3,7,20, then there is also the band 20 to 800Mhz essential especially with the operator wind/Italy)
- Dual SIM (+ Mini Micro sim) and MicroSD card support (declared support up to 32Gb, tested and working with 64Gb Samsung)
- Android 5.1 practically stock of September 10, 2015
- Possibility of installing the root kingroot APK: https://sites.google.com/site/androidxdacom/file/Kingroot_V4.5.0.902.apk?attredirects=0
- Battery not being from 2750mAh as stated, due to the hardware low-level will take at the end of the day so easy
- Gestures screen off and double tap to wake
AGAINST:
- "Only" 8Gb 1Gb ram and rom of which approximately 4.5GB available (if we think of the 50 € to take it in the promo, this detail takes second place)
- GPS to be fixed probably by software
- Cameras are far from the expectations, below average in good light, poor in low light.. flash power is very poor and light is yellow
- Touch 2 touches; no good for fast writing people
- The cover retains fingerprints and is slippery
- No No Compass and Gyroscope
- No support OTG
- No LED notification
- The keys to the screen though excellent, steal valuable space on the desktop and the keyboard while typing
- No cover or film since it is a brand new product

Hi, I think now to choose between Bluboo Xfire and Doogee Y100X, for me games are not important, but stability, network signal, battery and camera is important. Please help to choose asap, as I buy it for underage child who will not play in android games. Thanks !
Doogee is [email protected] in general, the battery is better with Bluboo, Doogee gave certain fake specs but it has a better display and it's twice as expensive than Bluboo

And why Bluboo will be better phone brand ??
Nope, both phones can be found for around 75$ with discount codes and 85$ without. As I understand both phones have decent battery, so how about network signal, smoothness of browsing and navigation in phone UI, photo camera? I really don't care that bluboo is better for games..
DOOGEE NOVA Y100X vs Bluboo Xfire (same price)
Doogee had a fiasco with displays and batteries, see topics here or on any other forum. Nova has a 2.5 D glass surface which is a neat marketing trick and an alleged 2200 mAh battery which is a 1800 one, just to find this out once you open the unit and see the sign on the battery or run benchmark tests. I am not saying Bluboo is better, but certainly more credible and less fake than Doogee. Your call.

But bluboo is 2.5D too, and anyone can confirm bluboo display matrix quality and real capacity of battery (2750 mah or no) ?
Today i receive Xfire, in few days you will have my first look. I have had doogee y100, and many others, only fake specs for battery and bad internal rom partition.

Water-Proof Test of the DOOGEE T5
DOOGEE T5 is the world’s first smartphone that combines the DIY style with 3-proofing. The Rugged Nature and Exchangeable Style, makes you have more choices basing on the environment's appearance and style.
They made a water-proof test (IP67 protection). If it resists, it means surviving in the harsh outdoor environment is not a problem.
Website: http://www.doogee.cc
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/doogee.cc
Twitter: https://twitter.com/DOOGEE_official

IP67 Protection, what does it mean?
DOOGEE has labeled the T5 with IP67 Certification so to understand its level of water resistance we need to check what IP67 certification means. The certification system is administered by the International Electrotechnical Commission and can be broken down as follows:
IP stands for Ingress Protection
- The first digit is on a scale of 0 to 6 and represents the level of dust protection the device offers (higher numbers are better)
- The second digit is on a scale of 0 to 9 and represents the level of water protection the device offers (higher numbers are better)
Based on this scale (and according to the IEC), the DOOGEE T5 should offer full dust protection and water protection when submerged in up to 1 meter of water for a 30 minute duration.
Considering its Rugged design, i would expect even better protection from this smartphone, but is has been certified as IP67 so any other test that doesn't meet this spec. then it would be at your own risk.
Also, for those who are interested, the DG700 (practically the device on which the T5 is based on) is now even more discounted than before (because its successor is near the door), but this is a limit offer until this weekend.
The DOOGEE T5 is kind of upgraded version of the DG700, which also combined the 3-proofing with the similar luxury appearance. The back cover has two choices, the crocodile texture calfskin and lambskin.
This is the DOOGEE DG700 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/doogee-titans-2-dg700-unboxing-hands-t2953664
If you can’t wait for the T5, you can buy a DG700 first because that's still a good device that shares many features.
Giveaway from DOOGEE!

DOOGEE is waiting for your creative slogan for T5. The slogan can be humorous or poetic, but brief. They will giveaway 3 different gifts (one is the T5).
Follow the FB link and write your slogan
Time Limit: July 29 - August 14 (2016 of course)
Finally it is Official!
The DOOGEE T5 will be launched on the 15th of August on DOOGEE's Official Website, where there will be a voting activity with the theme "The businessport phone, which style would you like?". Anyone can vote by choosing the Business T5 or the Sporty T5.
As a first round, it will be available on all official licensed stores, that can be found on the DOOGEE's website, then it will be also available on eBay & Amazon starting from mid-September.
Features:
Dual Style & IP67
The DOOGEE T5 is the world's first phone that combines dual appearance with IP67. It provides two appearances to be changed in seconds, and the relevant UI as well. Reaching IP67 rate, it means that it proofs water, dust and pressure.
13Mpix with PDAF, a Flagship Camera
Normal tri-proof phones do not perform well as regards photo quality, except the DOOGEE T5. 13Mpix Samsung Rear Camera with PDAF and 5Mpix Front Camera offer an outstanding shooting experience.
Comparison between DG700 & T5:
The DOOGEE T5 is a kind of upgraded version of the DG700. Compared to the quad-core CPU used in the DG700, the 8x 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processors of the T5 highly increases the performance.
The DG700 has 5Mpix front camera and 8Mpix rear camera, while the T5 has 5Mpix front camera and 13Mpix rear camera with PDAF.
Compared with the 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM of the DG700, the T5 has 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM, and the 32GB ROM memory can be expanded up to 64GB. You can keep all your stuff.
Last, but not least, compared with the 4000mAh battery of the DG700, the T5 has 4500mAh battery and 5V/2A fast charge.

Notification LED?!
Does this phone have a notification LED?
I've been asking in different forums and even the licensed reseller stores, I still don't have an answer! ... It's still a pre-order item.
I held off buying the Blackview BV6000 because of this issue, no notification LED, how can a manufacturer miss this small, yet purposely vital feature?!

I'll receive it next week so I'll let you know soon, but I think it doesn't have it. Check the DOOGEE video where they tested its waterproof capabilities, in the Settings menu (shown in this video) it should be shown if present.

Charging/charged LED Notification is not in the settings menu, WTF, is this your 1st phone? .... And what does a video testing its waterproofness have to do with my question?

I mean, check that video, they are showing you the Settings Menu after they take the device from Water (i remember that), so check if in that menu there is any kind of indication to the Notification Light or something similar. (unfortunately there isn't a specific menu name, MTK devices are a bit weird about this)
My reply wasn't too clear, but it wasn't neither so hard to understand...someone needs to calm down it seems...
Development & Support thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/doogee-t5-development-support-t3445982
Doogee released a video of production process for T5:
Probably the best spec of this T5 is the IP67 certification and shock proof integrated frame/case:
I got the device some days ago and yeah it is pretty good.
The chassis is pretty well made, Android works extremely smooth and I haven't faced any issue yet with it. Only the back cover management isn't perfect (if you change the cover/style, the UI theme gets automatically changed, but not always).
As usual, I'll provide you a review of the device soon.
Introduction
This is the businessport DOOGEE T5 Review.
Hardware
This device is powered by a Mediatek MT6753 SOC clocked at 1.3GHz, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. It shares the same classic Rear Camera sensor used by the Redmi 3 Pro (13MP Samsung S5K3L8 with PDAF) while the Front Camera sensor is a 5MP OmniVision OV5648. The manufacturer of the Screen isn't known yet, but it is pretty good and super bright. Follow my next paragraphs to know more.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with an huge amount of accessories, including 2 different back covers and frames for Dual Appearance: 1x Plastic Screen Protector, 1x OTG Cable, 1x SIM/MicroSD tray Eject Tool, 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/2A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, and the Smartphone (of course).
As already said before, you will find 2 appearances in order to customize your Device's Style depending on the environment (or the tastes why not). I'll talk about this in one of the next paragraph.
The device has a Rugged Chassis, that mixes Metal, Plastic and Rubber for the best protection possible. Do not forget that this is IP67 Certified, so you can have fun with it without having to worry about its, and probably yours too, safety.
It feels super solid, the best made device i have ever tried as regards build quality. As certified by DOOGEE, and following IP67 protection, it is water-proof (up to 1 meter), dust-proof and pressure-proof. Let's say it, it is also kid-proof haha.
Being a rugged device you can't expect compact sizes, but it is lighter than another device i have tried some months ago that wasn't rugged (CUBOT H2), so DOOGEE did a great job as regards its build quality.
It is 15.37x7.84x1.37mm (using the Sporty Cover, because that's what i like most) and it weights 223g, again not too much considering that it is rugged.
On the front side there is the Standard Display, no 2.5D or anything similar, with big bezels. The upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece with a nice Silver Frame, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. No Notification LED is here unfortunately.
On the lower front side there is only the Soft Keys zone, with Menu, Home and Back buttons. As you might notice, on the upper & lower areas of the device there is a Glossy Finiture, that's the block where the ports are hidden just behind.
On the back side it's where the magic happens. Dual Back Covers, and everytime you change the back cover also the UI gets automatically changed. (basically an automatic theme switch)
The upper rear side of the device features the Samsung Camera Sensor supported by a Single (the Quick Start guide says Dual, but i can only see one) Rounded Flash (Single-Tone) configuration, and nothing else.
The lower rear side of the device features the huge speaker hole, that allows the huge internal speaker to output audio at maximum volume.
Device
DIY Instructions/Demostration (T5 Exclusive!)
So, if you are one of my followers you might have noticed this neverseen paragragh in this review. This device explains why. Being the only one that allows you to change between two styles, i thought that a demostration or anything else about it might be interesting for you all.
Starting from the Screwdriver required to handle the whole process, just imagine which type you need. Yes, a T5 Screwdriver haha.
Anyway, as regards the screws there are two used types, with different size. The longest type is used only with the Sporty sides, while the standard/shorter type is used with the Business sides.
My recommendation is to not use the Screwdriver provided in the package, because it isn't good and i managed to destroy it with just a few usages. This is the only negative aspect i have noticed about the kit.
Use your own Screwdriver, and it will provide you best results without having to worry about its safety.
As you might probably think, is it possible to mix the styles? My reply is: YES! This is what a did to my T5. Business Sides with Sporty Back Cover, providing best protection while leaving the sporty design.
If you want to know more info about this paragraph, just leave here a post and i will reply you.
Screen
The screen is pretty good, super bright but there is a small (barely noticeable) backlight bleeding on the left corner.
Light Sensor works pretty well and it supports smooth light changes. This is the maximum screen brightness.
Viewing Angles are perfect, comparable to an AMOLED screen. (excluding the IPS limitations)
Camera
Rear Camera is a pretty good Samsung ISOCELL, so it provides some nice quality photos on almost every condition. More photos (such as outdoor ones) coming soon, i have a cold right now...
Flashlight isn't perfect, but it is pretty powerful. As you can see, it is a just a bit under-positioned compared to the Camera Sensor. It might be an engineering sample issue maybe, i don't know.
As regards Video Recording, 1080p videos (Video Quality – Fine) are recorded with an high level of details, just remember that there is no OIS so you can’t expect stable videos.
Front Camera records decent photos, and it seems to be a wide-angle variant. Selfie-lovers will appreciate it.
Audio
Speaker is how nearly as good as you would expect from a rugged device. Decently-Loud! Well it lacks low-frequencies a bit, it is slightly muffled maybe due to its waterproof protection but its volume is high.
In-Call Quality is near-excellent, finally an earpiece where there isn't the usual low-clarity sound. Loud (maybe also a bit too much), and with good clarity.
As regards the Microphone, it works decently well in any case (in-call, VOIP, etc...).
The Audio Department has been accurately enough designed, so i thank DOOGEE for taking care about this.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Thanks to the 4G Band 20 support (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it), I’m almost always and everywhere connected to the 4G Network of my Mobile Network Provider (TIM Italy).
Also 3G Signal Reception is accurate, even though some 3G frequencies are missing, maybe my engineering sample will get other frequencies with an update, who knows.
4G Network Speed is pretty good, it highly depends on your Mobile Operator and mine isn’t pretty good. While 3G Network Speed, is just fine as it should.
WiFi 5GHz isn't supported here, so only 2.4GHz WiFi speed can be tested. I managed to get connected to my network connection at 65mbps, and Speed Tests reached more or less 41mbps.
Battery Life (do not rely on my test)
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and its capacity is a bit lower than declared. Declared 4500mAh, Real ~4310mAh. (190mAh missing, nothing serious).
The Geekbench Battery Test provided some nice results, and the software used on my device isn't 100% ready-to-use so will probably get even better with next updates.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/383660
Software
The Software is completely clean, with an almost complete Nexus-like experience. As all latest devices, it is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with some minor customizations and some extra-apps installed such as "Bagan Keyboard", "Xender", "Documents to Go" and "Parallel Space". Don't worry though, they can be disabled.
As every DOOGEE device, also this one has the usual Settings App with Black Background. Also, following other Mediatek devices, Gestures are here.
The Theme Management is easy to use, just go to the Wallpaper Chooser and you will be redirected to the Themes app. Useful if you want to switch between the Business & Sporty UIs without having to worry about the installed back cover.
Also, there is a Magnetometer/Compass here, but lacks a Gyroscope & Barometer.
There isn't anything else special about the software. It runs super smooth thanks to its HD-Only display, always responsive and there are always more than 2 GB of Free RAM on idle.
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 3, GFXBench, PCMark (Work & Storage) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance is better than other MT6753 devices, but still low on OpenGL 3.0 & 3.1 tests. You can’t expect something better, this is still a mid-range GPU.
Other 3DMark tests can be found on my Imgur album linked at the bottom of the thread.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is good, especially as regards Reading Speed. Writing Speed isn’t as good as other devices though, maybe it requires a little software update, anyway still high enough to handle almost every task.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – As you can see, 3D performance is pretty high. 3D Games will run with no issues at all.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (8x Cortex-A53), enough to handle almost every type of activity.
PCMark – As you can see, only Writing score is a bit low compared to other scores. Pretty good.
Work
Storage
Even if this device is still running a not-so-new MT6753 CPU, it still performs well and the HD-Only screen helps the GPU to provide best performance everywhere. As i always say, with an MT6753 the HD-Only display works best.
Conclusions
DOOGEE did a great job with this device, probably the only Rugged device that doesn't have an ugly chassis or anything bad. Together with the DIY fun, it confirms that it is also a different device than others. It provides nice performance, great screen quality and a good camera creating a good combination of aspects.
I might have expected a better CPU, but it would have increased its price so it is good as is. Cheap enough, solid and fun.
So, do I recommend it? If you are searching for a Rugged Device, or for a different device that everyone can notice being unique, then Yes! Of course if you are searching for a slim or anything else, then this isn't for you.

DOOGEE T5 Lite - Lite version of the T5 is coming, at the official price of 100USD
All the features of T5 Lite are same of the T5 that DOOGEE launched on 15th August.
T5 and T5 lite allow users to enjoy DIY fun as their main feature on both device is the dual-appearance. One of the appearance features a crocodile textured back cover and the other one is a sporty PolyCarbonate back cover. Further more, their inner UI automatically changes while the outer shell are replaced.
Although T5 Lite will be sold at only 100USD (Official Price), half of the T5 Price, it still provides the cool and useful IP67 certification, which means that it can proof water, dust and pressure.
The main differences between the models are in the processor, memory and camera departments. The T5 Lite is Quad-Core (maybe MT6735?) with 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM, 5Mpix OmniVision front camera, 8Mpix SONY IMX219 rear camera. Everything else is exactly the same as on the T5.
So, for those for are not searching for such high performance of the T5, a cheaper Lite version will be great.

How Long Can 1% Battery of UHANS H5000 Last?
It really drives people crazy when he/she need to use his/her phone for emergency, only to find out that there’s only 1% battery left. This is because many smartphones cannot last very long with only 1% battery. UHANS H5000 seems to hang on 1% for about an hour.
No kidding. The 1% battery of UHANS H5000 has been tested for the time it can last. It is a very big surprise that the phone has done such a great job of power consumption. You can watch the video below.
The UHANS H5000 was said to carry 5000mAh battery capacity. Now considering the weight, thickness of the phone and the power consumption, the company has changed it to 4500mAh. It still packs with MediaTek MT6737, 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM, 5MP front camera and 8MP rear camera.
A great campaign allowing users to buy UHANS devices is up on the company's website: http://bit.ly/2ehIEhG

UHANS H5000 vs Samsung Galaxy S7: Battery Test
The battery of UHANS H5000 is 4500 mAh, which allows users to do a lot of what they wanna do. From the previous battery test video, we know that UHANS H5000 has very great power consumption. How is it compared to other devices?
For this comparison, Samsung Galaxy S7 was picked to be the competitor. Both phones have been fully charged and put them into the same gaming test for half an hour. Though the battery capacities are not the same, we can still see the different consumption between UHANS H5000 and Samsung Galaxy S7.
It seems that the battery of H5000 is quite a highlight. You can expect to have it in hand and test it. By the way, there will be a special campaign for the Double-Eleventh Day. You can stay tuned by following this thread.
UHANS H5000 Survived from Dropping Tests
We can hardly say that UHANS H5000 is a phone with any particular shinny spots, but it is decent and budget-friendly. Well, specs are not everything, because if you look further, you can find that UHANS H5000 is actually a very tough buddy.
To prove it, UHANS did some regular dropping tests with pocket height and hand-hold height. The H5000 has been tortured for several times under the protection of a protective case. Nonetheless, it still works very fine.

You right. There were some issues with that user (together with an XDA moderator) so he is completely ignored by me (also added to my Ignore List on XDA, thankfully this option is available) and i won't touch his threads anymore. (even though some of his posts/threads are against XDA rules)

Review (part 1)
Introduction
This is the CUBOT X18.
Hardware
In the last few weeks many 18:9 devices started to appear, some of them copying the Galaxy S8 design, others just using a "taller than usual" screen in a pretty standard body. The CUBOT X18 covers the last case, with a 18:9 design but an already known design, similar to most CUBOTs. It runs on a Mediatek MT6737T with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of Storage, with a 1440x720 HD+ 5.7" screen with the aspect ratio i mentioned before.
Unboxing
Following previous CUBOTs, also this one comes with almost no accessories: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/1A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, 2x Certification Papers, 1x TPU Cover, and the Smartphone (of course). A screen protector is already applied.
Keeping the good and old removable back cover, most of the times, forces the company to use a plastic body instead of metal, and with the last few models from CUBOT this is something always present. Even though there is no metal for the body, the device feels solid, build quality is OK (the back cover should be more polished) and there is no flex at all.
It is 16.00x7.39x0.92cm, tall and narrow as you would expect from this type of screen, but due to the generous bezels, it is even taller than usual, with a weight of 175g.
On the front side there is the nowadays standard 2.5D Curved Display and the upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera supported by a small Flashlight, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. A Notification LED is here, but it only supports one color: blue.
On the lower front side there isn't anything at all because on-screen software keys are used instead, even though there is so much wasted space here...
On the back side there is the removable back cover, the most glossy plastic cover i have ever seen.
The upper rear side of the device features the camera sensor (pretty similar to a Galaxy S1) supported by Single-LED (no Dual-Tone) Flashlight.
On the lower rear side there are just some Certification Logos with the CUBOT brand because the Speaker is placed near the Micro-USB port.
Device
Screen
Compared to another device i reviewed with a similar screen, the one used by CUBOT on this device is great, with excellent color reproduction, decent white balance and no visible gap between the screen and the glass. Definitely an high-quality one.
Light Sensor supports smooth light changes, this is its maximum brightness. Sufficient for outdoor usage.
Viewing Angles are as good as you would expect from an IPS screen.
Camera
First of all, it is important to report that on CUBOT's website it is reported a Samsung sensor for the front camera but, as you will notice, i am not able to confirm that.
This is where it is easily noticeable that we are dealing with a cost-friendly device. Even though the back camera sensor is a decent Sony IMX135, photos quality isn't great. Sometimes there is lots of noise while shooting photos outdoors. Let's say an usable camera for some random shots, not a camera phone.
Some photos look over-exposed even with HDR, while photos indoors look almost impressive, especially macros.
The little single-LED flashlight is just enough to help the sensor in low-light conditions, i would have preferred something more powerful.
As regards Video Recording, the camera is able to record 1080p Videos at ~25FPS, and the quality is decent.
With an OmniVision 8MP camera sensor for the front, i would have expected some great photos, but, again, the noise level is high. Hopefully a software update will reduce it. The front-facing flashlight is working fine, nothing to complain about. Also, as you can notice, it seems to be a wide-angle variant.
Audio
Speaker's quality is average, with the usual lack of low-frequencies and a medium volume. The same can't be said for the Earpiere though, that is just perfect, one of the best i have ever tested.
As regards the Microphone, it seems to be a bit "quiet", but it is perfectly usable. It may get better with an OTA update.
GPS
GPS Quality is pretty good, with GLONASS support and high accuracy even indoors.
Indoors on the left, outdoors on the right.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Testing all smartphones in the same position, i am able to get a precise measurement of the signal level thus the maximum speed reached in 4G. Its signal reception is average, not the best neither the worst.
4G Network Speed is decent, i might have expected an higher result but it isn't that bad.
This device doesn't support WiFi Dual Band (5GHz). Connected to my 2.4GHz network, it manages to obtain a pretty standard result, almost the maximum possible on this network.
Battery Life
Battery Capacity matches the declared value (measured 3295mAh, declared 3200mAh), with a little extra juice i find on almost all CUBOT devices. Always appreciated.
Considering the battery capacity and the screen size, this PCMark Battery Test result is as good as i would have expected, getting just a bit higher than 9 hours.
With a small 5V/1A charger it is impossible to expect any type of fast charging, neither it is possible to improve the situation by using a more powerful charger since it is limited via software. Expect more than 3 hours to charge the device completely.
Software
Something i always appreciate about CUBOT is the lack of software customization in all devices they release, and this one is no exception. Running on Android 7.0 Nougat with no bloatware pre-installed, there are no lags noticeable at all, buttery-smooth everywhere.
MiraVision is here, but other Mediatek's features such as double tap-to-wake or gestures are missing.
Unfortunately there is no Compass/Magnetometer and Gyroscope here.
No malwares detected using Malware-Bytes Anti-Malware app.
The fingerprint scanner is accurate but not super-fast to unlock the device, as you can notice. It can be configured as easily as on all modern Android devices.
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 4, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – Decent 3D Performance considering the low-end GPU.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is slighly unbalanced, with good read speed and a bit too low write speed.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say anything about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – Unexpectedly with the HD+ resolution this GPU seem to handle the benchmark pretty well.
GeekBench – It isn't possible to expect something better from this CPU (4x Cortex-A53), average score.
CPU
Compute
GFXBench – Just like what happened with Epic Citadel, also this one provides some unexpected high results.
PCMark – A bit low storage score, but everything else is just fine.
Work 2.0
Computer Vision
Storage
Work 1.0
Vellamo – For some unknown reasons, the device is recognized as an "iRulu" (what?) X18, even though this should be GMS certified thus properly recognized. Weird.
Conclusions
Being the second device i review with this type of screen, i can already say that its implementation might result a bit confusing if you consider the original Galaxy S8 target: providing a larger screen in a smaller body. This time, with the CUBOT X18, the smaller body isn't here unfortunately since bezels have been kept and not even limited.
Anyway, the device itself is actually pretty good, one of the few available with a removable battery and decent performance. I hope CUBOT improves the camera department because it CAN work better.
So, do I recommend it? If you are looking for a pretty cheap device with a sort of "Infinity Display", yes.
Pros:
Excellent Screen Quality
Removable Battery
Solid Performance
Notification LED
Cons:
No Magnetometer and/or Gyroscope
Disappointing Camera Quality (both)
Bezels are still here

How to root this X18 ?
Hello, and thanks for the review !
I bought a X18 for 70 $ at Cybermonday, and it's a very good phone in its class, espacially for this price.
Just for the fun (and to be able to install adaway) I would like to root it but didn't find a way to do it.
I managed to unlock the bootloader and to create a boot.img, but when I try to patch the boot.img with magisk (latest version 14.0) Magisk crashes and force close each time (found no solution for this in the magisk threads)
As far as I saw there is no TWRP recovery for this model, and I don't feel comfortable enough to port an existing TWRP.
So, with the (little) knowledge I have I'm stuck.
If somebody has a clue ??
