root nokia x/xl after 1.2.3 or 1.2.4 update one click root easy method - Nokia X

for root nokia x/xl after update
1.download 360 root apk
2. then install & open
3. click on root then wait fot 1 min it will root your device succesfully
link for 360 root apk- down.360safe.com/360PermRoot/PermRoot.apk

link for 360 root apk =
down.360safe.com/360PermRoot/PermRoot.apk

Does it work for 1.2.4.1?
My Nokia X runs on 1.2.4.1 version, will work for this?
I want only two things which I think are impossible without rooting;
1) To install Sygic navigator (HERE Maps doesn't work in my country)
2) Disable/Uninstall default store which keeps using RAM and battery resources and gives nothing in return
And one more question, will I lose my phone data if I run this app?

Bro its also works on 1.2.4 version perfectly
And dont worry you not lose any data of your phone while rooting do it without tension:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for reply

Successful failure!
Install was successful after re-download but this is what happened after it reached "100%"
I can't read Chinese so I have it confirmed by root checker app that the root process failed!
PS:
I don't know how to attach images in XDA forums :/

Tnx, It's Cool Apps for Root!

@ smrshkh786
I just managed to fix Nokia X Manager error of not detecting device. Now my device is visible, but I'm confused what should I do, to install G-Apps or ROOT it?
Here's what you should consider:
1) I just want to install Google Maps and Sygic Navi, no other advance level things.
2) Need more apps movable to SD card
3) Right now it's always consuming 80% + RAM most of the times even when data turned off and clean up, will rooting help me take some control of resource usage?
& last but not least
3) I am NOT smartphone advance user but do know something about it.
So please tell me which would be better for me?

bro if nokia x manager detects your phone then first flash twrp or cwm recovery then flash supersu.zip

If you want one click root
Use kingroot

Foursquare is working now.
I found Why some application not install Nokia X. If you install google app via tool kit ver 1.0.
That "Nokia-X_GApps_Install-signed" is no good.
Try to install "gapps-jb-20121011-signed" .
Not firmware problem.

[Q] Hot to root, install recovery and ROM on a SM-T805? Confusing info out there!

Hi there,
I have a SM-T805 from a few months, and I grew tired of its lags and sloppiness. I've tried to read many threads to find the most simple way too root, install TWRP and a ROM, but most of the threads are old and quite confusing.
So... could someone please tell me, step by step and with the proper links, how to ROOT and install TWRP in the easiest and most safe way?
Thanks a lot!

You don't need to ROOT 'AND' install TWRP.
Just install TWRP and it will root for you.
You can use the version below if you wish which I built, I have updated the Super su root files and fixed an issue with the wrong reboot option showing - BOOTLOADER instead of DOWNLOAD mode.
Just install via ODIN then boot into TWRP, select reboot from within TWRP and it will ask if you wish to root your device. After that your device will be rooted with the latest updated root.
unofficial-twrp-2.8.5.0-chagall
Did it and installed Iron Rom. Thanks a lot
I have one problem... after I installed TWRP and rooted, with ANY rom I install, included the original one, I get the "no connection" error with every single app from google. In other words, I can't use the tablet. It's like Google knows the tablet is rooted and blocks it. How can I solve this?
Try resigning into your Google account. If that doesn't work clear cache and data for Google play services.
Sent from my SM-T805 using XDA Free mobile app
I found out that when I'm rooted, Android automatically sets my wifi connection behind a non-existent proxy. This happens in EVERY ROM I install, from the original one to Cyanogen. I just have to disable that proxy and everything works. WTF.

[Q] SCH-I435 (Verizon) Anyway to get custom recovery?

Hello everyone, please be patient with me as I am relatively new to modifying phones. However, I have spent a good portion of the past 1-2 weeks looking into this problem on XDA + google, and I am at the end of my rope.
Here is my problem (I'm sure you already know):
I have no current solution to installing a custom recovery on my phone. I really just want custom recovery to restore FULL backups via Nandroid or equivalent.
Here are my questions:
1) In download mode, Odin has no problem flashing an official image/firmware (tar.md5) to the phone. Is it possible to create my own image of my phone into one file and flash it via Odin to my phone when I would like to restore? I have a feeling that something in the phone checks the hash of the image (I'm sure that I'm not saying it right), and that, considering my image would be twice the size of the official, there would be no way to make my image pass using collisions or what not. However, this would probably be my first choice after safestrap (assuming that won't work), so let me know.
2) I have read that certain people with phones similar to mine (not my variant though) have successfully "swapped" the external and internal SD cards. If I remember correctly they just change a couple lines in void.fstab. If this could actually be done, I could easily restore a backup to the now external internal SD, then change the settings to reswap on reboot. I feel like this is too good to be true though, as I have not seen this as a solution to my specific problem online. Is this actually a suitable option?
3) Currently my phone model is not an officially recognized device which Safestrap will work on. However, I have read that it is possible to do on my model using the Safestrap version which corresponds to a close variant of my phone. Can this be done? Please let me know if you have any information on this.
4) I guess this would be the last resort. I'm pretty good at taking things apart, but even better I can put those things back together Is the internal "SD" really just an SD card deep inside the phone? Would it be possible to replace that card for the purpose of backing up?
Here are my phone specs:
-Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (SCH-I435)
-The carrier is Verizon Wireless
-Android Version 4.4.2 (kitkat)
-Baseband Version I435VRUBOC1
-Kernel Version 3.4.0 [email protected] #1 Fri May 23 2014
-Build Number KOT49H.I435VRUBOC1
-Hardware Version I435.05
-Configuration version B13.SAM.SCHI435.0
-Needless to say, phone is rooted and has busybox + etc correctly installed.
Any help will be greatly, GREATLY appreciated -- even if that help is telling me that it isn't possible. I can't seem to give up on this.
Thanks,
Kurt

Does anyone have any advice on this? I would REALLY appreciate it. Thanks again.

Nope no recovery because the Verizon minis bootloader is locked. It can be rooted with kingroot i think its called and then switched to SuperSU by replacing it.(I used super sume pro to get rid of kr) ****!!After root install a application like "disable application [root]" and disabe all Knox applications and any unused apps.(look for a list of recommended apps to disable)

How did you switch it over to SuperSU? I tried, but when it tried updating the root binaries it couldn't continue because of KNOX, so I was stuck with Kingoroot's.
I used this method to replace KINGROOT NewKingrootV4.50_C120_B220_xda_release_2015_07_22_105243 with supersu. most other versions i tried didnt want to cooperate and would make me lose root after one reboot. also i bought the pro version of supersume pro its 4$ off google play.

I tried it with the free version they linked to and it de-rooted it, so maybe I'll try later when I have enough Opinion Rewards credit to get the pro version. That or it doesn't work on this phone with Kingoroot. (The Google Play description says it should do Kingoroot though.)
Did you download the correct version? The one off the kingroot site doesn't work for me. It just deroots. I still have root on both of my s4mini Verizon phones. Try this link to get a working one.HERE scroll down a bit and the different versions are there. Try each one starting with 4.5. Also remember to restart after you root with kingroot and install super sume after the restart.
I just had to re-image my phone, so I did it according to your directions. (Though with the free version still of super sume) and it worked, although it won't update to the newest root binaries. It fails when I try. Did you have this issue? Other than that, SuperSU works.
I updated using "normal" and it worked fine for me. Glad su works at least. also for one phone I did a full unroot factory reset and then I reflashed a tar with Odin. Did the normal root with kingroot 4.5. Restarted tried a few root things like no frills cpu thing then installed super sume pro. Did stage 1. An 2 then supersu started up automatically it asks to update (I think net connection is needed) *do update "normal" because there isnt any recovery. Uninstalled kingroot like supersume says. Did a few root things then restarted. (Checked for superuser after reboot and it stayed)

Installing Root, Safestrap, CM11

A lot of people keep asking how to install Safestrap so i will put it all here.
This only works for 4.6.x versions of FireOS
#ROOT
step1: Download KingRoot http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-phone/general/root-4-6-1-unlocked-gsm-phone-t3104621
step2: install the apk
step3: press the big button icon in the middle of the screen and wait for the process to complete.
note: (Latest version will be in english, 4.0 is in chinese i believe).
#Safestrap
Step1: now that you are rooted, download safestrap http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-phone/development/recovery-safestrap-v4-0-1-t3149888
Step2: install like any other apk you download.
Step3: open application and grant it root access when it prompts you.
Step4: once you follow the instructions and install safestrap you can now reboot your device to access recovery
#Accessing recovery:
once safestrap is successfully installed, on boot you should be prompted with a choice of recovery or continue at the bottom of the screen, clicking recovery will get you into the safestrap recovery, everything is touch enabled.
#Installing CM11 (Please backup your contacts before continuing if you have no other way of getting them back)
Step1: Simply download the necessary files here http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-phone/development/rom-cm-11-20150706-unofficial-t3151443
There is also the alternative SlimKat rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-phone/development/rom-slimkat-safestrap-v4-2015-08-28-t3188787
Step2: reboot into safestrap recovery
(For those that wish to backup their FireOS incase they want to go back for any reason)
step2.1: Select Backup
step2.2: Swipe the circle at the buttom of the screen
step2.3: once the process has completed go back to the main screen
(Continuing installation of CM11)
Step3: select the wipe button in RED
step4: swipe the circle at the bottom as instructed to factory reset (NO PERSONAL DATA WILL BE LOST )
step5: go back(button is on the lower right on the screen for those without softkeys)
step6: select the install button in RED
step7: find the folder in which the downloaded CM11 zip is stored
step8: Select the file
step9: Swipe the circle on the button as instructed to confirm flash
step10: wait for process to complete then reboot
You now have CM11 :good:

Download a GAPPS zip file and flash it from safestrap recovery just like you did with the CM11 zip file.
You will have Play Store available after that: continue downloading your favorite browser and apps through the store.

I've gotten my Fire phone rooted, safestrapped, and running CM11.
Just one comment: the linked version of Kingroot is Chinese only. Get the rooting program from here: http://androidxda.com/download-kingroot-application
It took me several tries to gain root, so be patient.
How do I remove Safestrap if I don't want it anymore? I understand flashing a stock ROM, but Safestrap is a different sort of beast.
root/safestrap/CM11
Got ATT fire phone unlocked - on 4.6.1 and it just updated it self to 4.6.4 - got 4.6.1 / king root 4.5 / safestrap / CM11 and the google play store install files and attempted the following:
- under both 4.6.1 & 4.6.4 the play store would not work - only the initial run before it updates itself to a the current version - kind a killer for me can't get easily contacts etc.
- installed king root 4.5 - works on 4.6.4
- installed safestrap - works on 4.6.4
- backed up the phone
- flashed 4.6.1 - worked - have not tried older version - have not saerched for one yet
- flashed CM11 - worked - but no camera app works on this thing - the build in one can't take a single good picture / flash doesn't work - it is too slow too much flash flash pictures are all white - the google one can't switch to video mode - the camera fx one works ok without flash - have not tried with flash - video is not accessible - says not supported switch to video mode - a better camera doesn't work either
Next step would be try and remove the king root and use Super SU - didn't not like what I'm reading about king root.
cheers
So what next?
I have Fire OS 4.6.4 and used Kingroot to root it then installed supersu. I want to get CM11 but not sure how to flash to 4.6.1

You don't need 4.6.1, Safestrap and CM-11 will work with Fire OS 4.6.4.
ooops... didn't see that I should be safestrapping on top of 4.6.1. Currently running CM11 8/29 build on top of 4.6.3... haven't noticed any issues, camera, play store, etc all seems to be working. Granted this is just a backup phone and has not be put through the ringer. What issues should I expect to see, any issues I should try to reproduce??? Don't mind being the guinea pig here.

As of now the biggest issues seem to be camera, 5ghz WiFi and play store crashes. There are other bugs but check the cm11 post in the developer section to see what's going on.
Thanks a lot. Can the mods make this a sticky?
Several people are going to be looking for this after the ebay deal on the Fire phones. I'm surprised there isn't already a sticky.

YouTube app Bug

Hi peeps. I got my P8000 on Thursday and all is going well, apart from now having an ancient version of the YouTube app and I am unable to upgrade it.
Before I updated to the latest stock rom version using OTA I did have the latest version of YouTube.
My phone isn't rooted and I am not planning to root it because my banking and sky go apps will not work then.
If someone has a solution (I'm not expecting one without needing root access and manually changing it in the system) then great. I'm more interested in finding out if other newest stock ROM users have the same issue.

I dont want to promote my rom here, but i simply can't recommend to use the official firmware from elephone. And as you said, you don't need root because of the banking apps, i really would like to recommend my ROM (NEXUS) V2.5 which i (hopefully) release in the next days. There you will be able to install the ROM without root.
I also got the same issue after updating, please advice if you get it fixed
There's some advice being offered on the following page http://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-9880-1-1.html#.VuBhmPmLS00.
What worked for me was clearing the apps data, force stopping it and then powering my phone off and back on. It is still the older version of Youtube but it does work.
Just root your phone, download System Remover, Delete the youtube app, and download it again from playstore. It downloads the latest version. Enjoy
this could work
1. settings / apps / all apps
and deactivate the 3rd youtube app from the ota .
2. settings/ apps / all apps / youtube / wipe cache and data
3. root and delete the youtube app, download it again form palystore
4. remove your google account / reboot / and set it up again
I too am having issues with youtube but on my p6000 pro
since the last OTA youtube is about 4 years out of date. It also has permissions to download app and delete other apps.
My phones keeps downloading Apus and DU Battery Saver in the background without my permission. Everytime i use chrome. I get popups to bad sites.
I can no longer get root access or change roms now.
I brought these issue up on the elephone forum and i got banned for it...
I'm also having trouble since updating. I'm getting extra browser panes asking for my phone number or downloading unwanted apks when I follow links from my mail. I'm wondering if the YouTube app is involved based on a link which I cannot post, being a new user. Disabling YouTube gives me non-stop "Unfortunately YouTube has stopped working messages". Haven't got round to using adb yet.
I flashed a new DCU ROM using sp tool. Had to get rid of that malware filled elephone stock ROM.
I too am having these problems as listed above. My problem is, I haven't a clue about how I got about fixing these as I'm quite new to this "developer world" for want of a better phrase. I understand the need to root but can anyone point me in the right direction for a how-to guide on rooting and installing custom ROMs, preferably not needing a PC please?
Would be much appreciated.
Which phone do you have ?
Hi CagedStevo,
Sucks doesn't it? The good news is my phone is now better than ever though, having installed the Eragon ROM. I've not tried any others so can't say how they compare but this one seems cool and has lots of nice features such as adaway.
I followed the instructions in the "Elephone P8000" -> "P8000 Android Development" -> "[ROM] 06/03 Eragon v 9.5| Android 5.1 20160217 |Google / AOSP |OTA Hub| Mods" thread and they were pretty straightforward. Under "DOWNLOAD" on the first post, click the "CLICK TO SHOW CONTENT" button and follow the "Guideline of / How to Root / Flashtools and MTK Drivers" link. Here are a couple of notes you may find useful from my experience.
You don't need Win 8 or Win 10. I used an old Vista laptop and so didn't have to faff about enabling unsigned drivers, I just had to OK some warnings.
I couldn't flash any of the custom recoveries until after doing a full factory reset on my phone. Before that it appeared to have worked but when I selected Recovery from the boot loader there was nothing there. That was a shame as I wanted to root the phone and save some app data. After I reset the phone it worked fine, I used Philz v2.
If you need to reset the phone because it is hanging (this is what happened to me when it found no custom recovery), then hold Vol+ and Power together for a few seconds.
Good luck!

Yes that's the one I followed, linked from the ROM thread. It was very helpful. Thanks
To everyone, thank you. I'll have a look into it and see if I can get it sorted, although I don't actually have a working PC atm (power supply died) so hopefully, I can get around this.

Downloaded and installed SuperSU but it's saying no binary detected. Is this needed?
(Apologies, I really have no idea with any of this techy stuff)
EDIT: Installed Flashify, told no ROOT/Superuser access, damn that OTA update.
