N5110 Stock stagefright patch info? - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

My wife's fully stock (4.4.2) N5110 started getting update notifications from Samsung Software Update.
Per the info, it's a 7.61 MB 'device stability and bug fixes' patch that includes security enhancements and StageFright fix.
Is there information on everything installed with this patch?
Will installing this block any future attempts at root / installing a custom ROM? (If she ever lets me; this is solely her device and doesn't care about root/ROMs )
Since this is a wifi only note8 - how vulnerable is it to stagefright if I don't patch? Everything I've read says 'stagefright is more than an MMS vulnerability' but then the details only go into the MMS vuln :|
Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been covered elsewhere - I searched and didn't find anything.

I noticed the update today and decided to install it. It did not take very long to install and the Android version number is still 4.2.2, so it doesn't seem that there is anything major. I have yet to notice any changes, but I haven't used my tablet much today I should note that I am also using the wireless version of the Note 8.0 and I have never rooted this devices.
If I learn anything else I'll post here.

It's too bad that they didn't decide to bump things up to 4.4.4 (could use those Bluetooth fixes that were introduced in 4.4.3) while they were at it.
Anyway, I just noticed that there's a new stock rom posted for the USA variant on Sammobile.com and samsung-updates.com. So this is officially "a thing." Haven't flashed it myself yet and I probably won't; I've moved on to Cyanogenmod 12.1. But it's nice to know that Samsung is still pushing out updates for this thing.

I received another AT&T update this morning. Anyone else?

My Note 2 has been updated to 4.1.2 last month. And this morning it got another update from AT&T. After the update I checked the version number, it's still 4.1.2. Don't know what's going on. Anyone else has this experience? I played around and didn't notice any difference in appearance or performance.

I jsut got the same thing...Note sure what it does of If i should accept it.
I got one too but I'm running SkyNote so I'm not sure if I should accept either..
Latest OTA update from ATT is MA4. Updated kernel which includes a security patch for the exploit issue. In the past, you had to be completely stock to successfully take the update (stock rom/recovery).

I got it thanks. There's a mention on the other forum that this is a security patch for the chip.

[Q] stock user - to upgrade or not to upgrade

Hello,
can anyone give me a simple answer (i am a stock user - i don't want to root or flash just to keep things simple and stock) should i go a head and accept the upgrades from Tmobile (usa) or not. When 4.3 came out there was a lot of stuff on the internet that this upgrade was messing up people's phones - is still the case? most of what i read here deals with people having problems with the upgrades and rooting or flashing rom but what if you are just a stock user - what is the latest feeling on these upgrades?
thanks
T9 keyboard option lost

I have done a Google search and found out that the T9 keyboard option no longer exists after the update, if this is the case, you can always use a T9 keyboard in Google Play called Google Pinyin Input which includes a T9 option.
I would not update for any reason. There isn't something special with the last 4.3 update and this one. People did experience signal issues with both updates though. If it aien't broke don't fix it.
Sure there are discussions about certain vulnerabilities. Nothing that can be fixed by installing a couple of apps from the store.

Not only that
We loose the benefit of custom ROM installation by the update of the baseband :crying:

Security updates and Blocked OTA's

Hi all,
A little info....
1) I use a VZW Note 4
2) I reverted to Kitkat from Lollipop OAF and blocked KNOX and OTA following THIS thread.
Since I did the above, no OTA updates are coming in for me (thankfully!)... including the Security updates (at least I haven't seen any).
My questions are...
1) Is it safe to install Security updates without it messing with Kitkat?
2) Have any of you who have reverted to KK updated your Security policies?
I'm concerned that installing any newly pushed security updates will not work well with KK, and possibly mess with my finely running Note 4. Truthfully, I can absolutely NOT stand any of what they "improved" with LP! I hate it with a passion, and that's and understatement!
Anyways, any help is much appreciated! TIA!

Confirming lack of ability to upgrade past 4.2.2 on Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110/SM-T111)

Hi all,
Just rooted my device for the first time today using TWRP and flashing SuperSU. I was hoping it was going to give me the ability to upgrade my device to a stock android version of Lollipop. As I'm looking around it seems like that is not supported by the community. I have used the search bar and haven't come up with much, except a few old threads when Lollipop was just released.
I found this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755532 that suggests nobody has modded it past it's final android update 4.2.2. The only difference it seems is it gets rid of some of the uninstallable Samsung and Google apps.
I just wanted to confirm that there is no development going on past 4.2.2 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110) before I flash a new ROM from the list.
Thanks.
bump
I would also like to know, I bought the tablet today for my son, but never checked about the android version, and now i can't update the kids mode on it,so being to get it to update would be brilliant, if not i'll have to take it back and exchange it for one that has a newer version.
Maybe in the future:

T989uvoh1 - update

T989UVOH1 - Beginning October 5,2015 the Samsung Galaxy S II will have a software update to Android version* 4.1.2/ Software T989UVOH1 via OTA or Samsung Kies.* This update provides the Stagefright fix.
My phone wanted to update last night. did anyone take the update ? did it lose root ? what happened when it updated.
Right now i'm backing up my stuff and pushing all my contacts to google and everything before hand.
If you do not know what stagefright is then read :
http://www.xda-developers.com/stagefright-explained-the-exploit-that-changed-android/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/fix-stagefright-patched-t3173500
- I like the rom i'm on and really dont want to go updating if it breaks my root and everything on my phone.
I found out that i would mostly need to update so im updating now to a new rom SLIMLP
Well I did a little flashing this weekend to see what this update really did. I will say it did nothing. The stagefright v1 and v2 are still active.
The rom is fully bloated to hell. I jumped off the rom after that. Do not update to this build from t-mobile it does nothing.
I wonder if someone can upload the new radio that comes with it.
