Huawei Watch stock non-rooted images - Huawei Watch

Hello,
I know skin1980 pulled these but I wanted to provide a set of stock fastboot flashable images for the Huawei watch.
Recovery, boot, and system are contained in the link below.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=41472
To flash:
fastboot flash system system-stock.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery-stock.img
fastboot flash boot boot-stock.img
at the bootloader screen (reachable with adb reboot bootloader). If someone finds a way to get to the bootloader from off mode, I'd love to hear it.
Note: The sizes of recovery and boot are both 21MB because they are straight dd rips of the partition so they are byte for byte the size of the partition. Actual repacked images would be much shorter.

Has anyone tried these? I think the system img is bad, I can't boot from it. Hopefully skin1980's works or I'm in deep trouble on my Hwatch. I should have been more careful when trying to go back stock.

The system.img seems to be corrupt! The Watch shows the Brick logo....

hi dear, please remove the system image, i couldn't boot it, and was about to brick my devices (playing with mmc blocks as i thought i have done something wrong)

I bricked my watch also, thank you

I fixed mine since I posted this, you have to input the lines one by one and let it do it's thing. Wait 5 minutes and it will be good.

I also soft-bricked despite each step reporting being finished (I can successfully flash other firmware, but this one is not working). I was able to still access fastboot so it wasn't too big of an issue, but does anyone have a non-corrupt version?

How to get to bootloader without adb:
1. Power off the watch.
2. Hold down the power button until you feel the first vibration, followed by the second.
3. After the second vibration, release and immediately hold the power button down again.
4. Continue holding down the power button until the device powers off, powers on and vibrates.
5. After the first vibration, immediately release and press the button (no need to hold). You should now be at the bootloader screen.

Great, mine's semi-bricked, too. Can access fastboot, but now it's stuck during reboot during the part with the 4 animated colorful circles...

Huaweii Smartwatch problem
My huawei smartwatch gen 1 is in the same boat.... I was trying to revert back to stock os, not realizing google stop shipping out the 1st gens watch os and only allows you to do download the 2nd gen. Well I got to flashing the bootloader and my watch is a hard brick.

Here is another location to get the OS downloaded

[CWM] [Recovery] docomo Fujitsu Arrows X F-02E

Greetings,
I'm trying to build a clockworkmod recovery for my smartphone Fujitsu Arrows X F-02E. I've got the stock recovery dumped from the phone (attachments) and the recovery.fstab. I used them to build recovery on this site builder.clockworkmod.com. Recovery compiled successfully. Then I flashed it to my phone. And when I try to boot into recovery nothing happens, the phone just boots normally into the system (the stock recovery, in its turn, booted normally). Can anyone help with making a CWM recovery?
UPDATE: I can't attach these files here so I've uploaded them to my Cubby: cubby.com/pl/Android/_1f03da99a7034dd6b5ed7cb27bcc0bb0
UPDATE2: There are source code files of firmware of F-02E here - http://spf.fmworld.net/oss/oss/f-02e/ But I'm not advanced in programming enough to use it.

I've used different ways. Using adb I've downloaded, for a backup, all files from phone in /dev/block/ section. I've got 45 files, from mmcblk0 to mmcblk45, and only two of them had 10240kb size, one of them was a recovery. Then I've made backup with recovery-tools and got one more .img file. Checking the md5 sums showed that mmcblk32 is equal to recovery.img. So here it is. As alternative way I could get this recovery by copying /dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/SOS . It's the same recovery and equal to mmcblck32. So there is no doubt that it's the correct file we need.
UPDATE2: There are source code files of firmware of F-02E here - http://spf.fmworld.net/oss/oss/f-02e/ But I'm not advanced in programming enough to use it.
Found this info - blogs.yahoo.co.jp/y_19980320/33484520.html (use google translate). It seems that bootloader is locked and it's divided into 2 parts. First one, BL1 (not re-writable) is checking the authenticity of the BL2 (re-writable, but without correct signature it has no sense) after that, BL2 checks the kernel and boot the phone. Can we do something with that? (hello Motorola Defy)
And in the second post - blogs.yahoo.co.jp/y_19980320/33513111.html there are some usefull info too, but I culdn't understand a bit of this, even with google translate. Does anyone knows what is said in that post?
I think I've got both of this files. BI1 and BI2 here - cubby.com/pl/Android/_1f03da99a7034dd6b5ed7cb27bcc0bb0 But I may be wrong. As mentioned in the article in the first link the first part of bootloader can not be re-written. But I've tried and both parts flashed successfully. So either I've found not the bootloader files either info in the article is wrong. How can I find out are these correct bootloader files or not?
It seems that I found wrong files. Correct files seems to be - mmcblk0boot0.img and mmcblk0boot1.img. Here - cubby.com/pl/Android/_1f03da99a7034dd6b5ed7cb27bcc0bb0

F02-E Data Recovery
Hello everybody, I don't know if I am on the right topic, but I think people here can answer because it's about the Fujitsu F02-E.
I have this phone since more than 4 years and I was plenty satisfied with this item but since yesterday, the phone don't want to work anymore...
At first, it was starting until the screen "ARROWS" and then restart again and again.
Today, the phone is trying to start by two times himself when I put the battery in it...(Orange led; green led; orange led, green led, and at last orange led twinkle two times..then, all is switch off)
When I try to charging, it try to restart like I was explaining and then all is switch off, even the orange led that tells you it is charging...
But when charging it try to restart every 5 minutes..
Now, the screen switch on very rarely and not even for one second.
The very important question is:
Do You know a trick or an application that can recovery all data, because there are A LOT of important things Inside. I have found a few data recover but they are not compatible with the F02-E.
I would be very, very grateful if You can help me, please.
ps: Sorry for my English, I'm French
Have a good day.
Thank You.

Lenovo K8 Note Red State Bootloop After Flashing Custom Recovery

Hello Guys,
The issue is that i wanted to root my lenovo k8 note so follow this link "https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/tutorials-how-to-root-lenovo-k8-note-t3685502", Everything works file but in last rooting step no. 9
9. If you see internal storage 0mb Then GoTo Wipe and FORMAT DATA once & reboot to recovery
but in my device there has memory 59999mb so i ignored and reboot using twrp but it says no OS installed
and shows orange state, then i format phone using twrp but nothing happens again orange state and no os installed.
then i found another article with same issue "https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/lenovo-k8-note-stuck-boot-logo-flashing-t3751324/post75974342#post75974342" and found this
The bootlogo issue.
Hey! I read your post regarding your k8 note being stuck at the bootlogo.
Consider that you can still use TWRP, boot into it.
Then go ahead and download the SuperSU zip on your PC/laptop and connect your phone with a USB. You might be able to see the SD card folders on your PC, then you can just copy and paste it to the internal sd and flash it. You'll be good to go. If that doesn't work, in the TWRP Mode, go to advanced and select ADB sideload. You can now flash using ADB sideload.
Search for tutorials on ADB sideload. It's easy and that should work.

Are you okay with losing your data on your phone? If yes then go ahead and flash stock ROM with sp flash tool. And about your problem, I guess you wiped the /system partition as well that's why it was showing no os installed.
Another thing is that if you install twrp Do not boot up your phone, boot up into twrp by pressing volume up and power button at the same time you'll need to flash magisk or supersu so that twrp can modify partition correctly.
Thanks

I have lost all my mind and need serious help.
Recently, the march update came. i forgot that rooted phone should not be updated by the OTA update. And i did. As a result i got stuck in a bootloop. Then I had to use the oreo ROM from this forum and flashed it using SP Flash tool. It was a successfull flash. Then I used Maui META to write the IMEI for both sim. That was successfull too(Wifi and bluetooth addresses were working by themselves and i didnt write the serial number of the phone).
After working nicely for three days, i was using Whatsapp and a friend of mine sent me a .pptx file (powerpoint presentation). I opened it using WPS office app. I opened it multiple times in morning with no problems. But in the afternoon at about 2.53 PM while i was in my car, i was unable to open the file. The phone hanged. It heated up. To get out of the hang, i restarted the phone using the power button. IT DID NOT START. All it showed was the lenovo logo screen. And after doing more restarts, the phone went completely blank.
Now i cannot start it, or charge it. So i thought of flashing it again. But when i connect it to my PC, it keeps CONNECTING and DISCONNECTING. what i saw in the device manager was that the driver keeps changing very fast betwee MTK USB PORT and PRELOADER.
I found the solution to be updating the drivers manually. I did. Now the driver shows only DA USB VCOM and when it changes, it goes invisible in the PC and then appears back. Now when i start flashing, the first red progress bar appears as: Download DA 100%. and the flash hangs. After some time, this error will popup: ERROR: STATUS_UNKNOWN_STORAGE_TYPE (0xC0040009)
Please someone help me.

I couldn't find more about the problem online, can you please upload a screenshot of the error. Try using the latest version of SP Flash Tool and see if the problem persists

here are the screenshots. Note that the battery is in the phone always because i am unable to open the back cover. During the flashing process, i did not press the vol - button.

Now in the following screenshots, i kept the vol - button pressed down. Note that the driver is stuck at preloader and not DA. Also the first bar is yellow color in both these cases. However, in the above situation, multiple files were flashed. But in this below situation, only this so called "flash" was done; that too unsucessful in the end.

The problem may be with your drivers, i see you have Preloader drivers only.

So i did as you said brother. I don' t know how but something happened. The phone, after a long time actually displayed up. It showed the LENOVO logo and down in the corner two things came in written :
>device unlocked
>Tool DL image Fail
I googled it up and found that it requires to flash the phone with the DA DL option ticked. I did that but it does not flash. The error is same as follows:
https://ibb.co/Ssj58Zd
Can you please guide me in the flashing process? I think the mistake is very small but i don't know where i am missing.

Okay so what i figured out is that in this state: (battery plugged in, no notification LED response, no response on power or volume buttons) the driver you require is MTK USB PORT.
I updated to this driver manually, and guess what? the phone actually flashed. But three files remained and the process hanged. (system, cache and userdata)
Now i get the errors:
>device unlocked
>Tool DL image Fail
and sometimes: >device otp failed
I am trying to flash the rest three files individually. Lets see what happens.

[SOLVED] Help Flashing Lineage OS

EDIT:SOLVED -- READ BELOW:
I finally got it flashed by following a few guides here which I will link, and try to break it down easier for someone else to come across and follow. I thought I bricked my phone (flashed LineageOS then rebooted, phone did not show anything on screen, full black screen) but after following a few guides I got it solved.
If you get bricked, or just want to follow a clean perfect install, please start below (Skip to step 2 if you are starting fresh, if you have soft-bricked your device start from step 1)
1. Bricked it and had to execute QDLoader 9008 fix again.
Tutorial is easier than it looks, do not fear, if you have soft-bricked your device and see a black screen, go ahead and go through the qdloader brick solution.
2. From factory recovery updated to Version WW-16.1220.1909.193.
If you have started fresh, I would highly recommend updating to the more updated firmware first. For me this worked, and I suggest updating to get a more current kernel, which may play better with Lineage OS install. To install a newer stock firmware linked above, download the ~2GB Firmware above, and save it to your Minimal ADB / Fastboot folder. Power off your device, after it has been successfully restored (if you bricked it) or you want to start off fresh and get the install right the first time. With your device powered off, Hold Volume UP and then Hold Power Button until the Fastboot menu appears. Use your volume keys to select Recovery, then press Power button to enter the STOCK Recovery (we are still on stock firmware with stock recovery). When in stock recovery select install from ADB. We are going to push the install via ADB (I tried dragging the firmware to the internal and selecting install ZIP and that didnt work).
Go into your Minimal ADB / Fastboot folder on your computer and open command prompt by holding Shift+Control and Right clicking and then selecting open command prompt here.
Now, enter the following command in the command prompt and hit enter:
adb devices
This command will show if any fastboot device is connected. If it doesn’t show, then please check the drivers are installed properly and try again.
If your device is listed, then type the command given below and press enter:
adb sideload File_name.zip
^^This will be the ~2GB Firmware file downloaded above
Wait until the installation process completes.
Once the installation process is complete, restart your device.
Done. You have successfully upgraded the Asus ZenFone 6 to the newer firmware, please continue.
3. Downloaded OTA 16.1220.1909.193 to 16.1220.1909.194, renamed it to UL-ASUS_I01WD-ASUS-16.1220.1909.194-1.1.1-user.zip and placed into root of internal memory.
When I disconnected USB cable (or rebooted, not sure), I was prompted with update notification. I have updated it. Either way, reboot your device if you don't see the notification, and look in your notifications to see something saying: System Update Detected Proceed with Update - and select it and update.
4. Now that your phone is 100% Updated with the newest firmware, let's follow another guide I found here:
I assume you're on a fresh Android 9 stock ROM, or just finished restoring your phone with the Flashall_AFT.cmd from this tutorial.
You should at least boot once on the system, and disable any PIN or password to unlock your phone (hence putting a default password for the FBE).
Download the latest OFFICIAL TWRP.x.x.img (which we'll use to boot on it), and it's installer to install it later (TWRP.x.x.zip) if you want to use it.
LineageOS installation steps :
Reboot to bootloader (=fastboot mode), connect to your PC and boot on TWRP :
Command:
fastboot boot TWRP.x.x.img
Once on TWRP, you can see that we're on slot A (Menu > Reboot). Now go to wipe > factory reset and then wipe system (technically I suspect this only wipes slot A, but do it anyway, don't worry about the errors!)
Now go to Install > flash the newest official LOS_latest.zip. What happens here is that the LOS installer will flash LOS on the inactive slot (slot B in our case). And will also install the LOS recovery (on both slots it seems).
Reboot to recovery : your phone automatically switches slots and will boot the LineageOS recovery (Don't fear, we don't need TWRP right now, just go along with this step) on slot B.
On the LineageOS recovery, do factory reset (which seems to be a full /data format in fact, thus removing any previous encryption AND all your data on internal storage). If you want to use Magisk, go to the recovery's install menu and sideload it now
Use code:
adb sideload Magisk-v20.3.zip
Now reboot to system. It might take a while (one or 2 loops in my case), but your phone should boot, or in some cases will end up on LOS recovery asking for a 'factory data reset' (then do it and reboot again).
Once booted on your LOS rom, you can define a pin or password to lock your phone (that'll be the FBE decryption password).
Now if you want to use TWRP, reboot to bootloader and boot again on TWRP.img (step 1)
From TWRP > Install > flash TWRP.x.x.zip (that is, the TWRP installer). It installs on both slots by default. If you had installed Magisk, you have to flash it again (because anything modifying the boot.img - like the TWRP installer in our case - will erase it).
You can now reboot to system and enjoy LOS
Thanks for the nice documentation. I've recently also struggling with installing a custom ROM and this clears some things up.
Wanted to ask, if you also have the audio issue that 1) callers hear an echo of themselves, and 2) the bottom speaker is active when receiving a call?
Thanks.

Haven't actually put my sim in yet to make calls, will let you know later today, sorry about the delay!
I had previously attempted this a number of months ago, and managed to soft brick my Zenfone 6 several times, eventually kind of giving up and just using the stock firmware.
I tried again back on Memorial Day in the US. This time around, I bricked it hard. Could not get device to power on in any fashion. PC would not "see" USB connection at all.
I returned it to ASUS for service, and they've charged me a little over $200 to repair it. The only problem they noted was, "Device is rooted/unlock". So I have no way of knowing if their diagnosis is based on actual inspection of the device, or if they're just replacing the SOC on the basis that I used their official bootloader unlock tool, thus registering my phone's S/N.
Just a little caveat emptor for anyone attempting to use this guide. I was able to get TWRP to load, and succesfully updated the stock firmware, but any and all attempts to load the Lineage image failed.
Eventually one of them soft bricked my phone as before, and I think my mistake was interrupting the soft brick rewrite procedure by prematurely unplugging my phone from the PC.
I had a similar issue: Bricked and totally unresponsive phone (or so I thought until I realised the screen was flashing very faintly when I switched off the lights - I could only tell in the dark due to how dim the flashing on the display was) where de "Powered by Android" logo kept flashing for a millisecond and in a loop. None of the button combinations worked so I couldn't switch completely off, access recovery/fastboot, and my computer wouldn't recognise the phone when I connected it via USB. I ended up buying an EDL cable for deep flashing Qualcomm phones (€9) and within minutes I was back up and running. All solved.

I bought it from Amazon. The one I bought is out of stock now, but there are a lot of them available (from other brands/sellers). This one for example - is the one that most resembles the one I actually bought: https://www.amazon.es/ASHATA-tel%C3%A9fono-reparaci%C3%B3n-Adaptador-Engineering/dp/B086WZMFKW/ref=sr_1_18?__mk_es_ES=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&dchild=1&keywords=cable+edl&qid=1597417614&sr=8-18
Since the thread is already on topic, could I flash lineage os while being on a custom rom? I have Bliss ROM on partition A and stock on B. Is it possible to have both Bliss and Lineage in dual boot?
Also, maybe a little off topic, the partition A/B scheme was intended to be used as a dual OS boot like normal PCs? Because right now I can select A and boot Bliss, select B and boot stock, I don't get why the procedure for flashing Lineage OS is so convoluted(requires having stock both on B and A?!) since both partition seems to be standalone and separated from each other.

The cable itself (on its own), doesn't seem to "do" anything, but is paramount in reaching the right area, in order to fix the problem by means of the appropriate instructions and files. I can't recall where I ended up getting the right instructions from - as I researched quite a bit, and did a lot of "trial an error" before getting it right - so I'm sorry but I can't refer you directly to them via link (so that whoever posted them originally gets the credit they deserve), but this is what I ended up doing (on a WINDOWS machine) based on said instructions:
DOWNLOADS:
- Qualcomm drivers: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603857508
- Firmware with scripts: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397969054
- Latest official ASUS firmware from the ASUS webpage (download and place it in a memory card)
- (If you don't already have it on your WINDOWS machine): download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package
PROCEDURE:
1- Install the Qualcomm drivers
2- Unpack the downloaded firmware containing the scripts
3- Place the memory card in the phone's slot (with the latest official ASUS firmware already in it)
4- Power off the phone by VolumeDown + Power buttons (keep them pressed for about <25 seconds)
5- Connect the phone to the computer via the EDL cable and press the button on the EDL cable (there was an extra bit on what to do with a archive from the drivers file if your computer doesn't recognise the port straight away, but it wasn't necessary in my case so I didn't keep that step/archive name in my notes... I'm afraid you will have to search for it like I did if you come across that issue).
6- Start update_image_EDL.bat script from the unpacked firmware
7- After the script in step 6 finishes, start script flashall_AFT.cmd
8- Start bootloader
9- Go to stock recovery mode and install the ASUS firmware from the memory card
X- (Instructions also suggested to repeat steps 8 & 9 again at this point - for a second time - but in my case it wasn't needed)
I hope this helps.

Hey buddy, I appreciate your reply. The cable is on its way but I got a bit fiesty and opened up the phone to short the two contacts. This did the trick for me, got me back into EDL mode, and I was able to flash the latest firmware. On that topic, I'm trying to find the most suitable firmware version to run LineageOS 17 on the phone. I grabbed Mauro's TWRP to temporarily boot into which allowed me to flash the latest Asus image from their site. I guell I'll just carry on from there.

As far as I understand, that's pretty much what the cable does actually... I also came across that method along my research, but I didn't want to risk opening the phone up. Since you are in the "flashing state": be careful with some of the instructions out there - I flashed through TWRP as I have been doing all these years with other phones, following specific instructions for each ROM I've tried, and I had nothing but issues until I flashed through ADB. I still don't know why I was getting the "No OS" warning all the time despite flashing correctly from TWRP (contemplating the A/B partitions matter), but none worked...

Appreciated but I'm all sorted. I believe my pitfall was not using the copy-partitions .zip file detailed in the instructions. I had no idea that was a thing. Was extra careful this time and now I'm on the ROM I need.
I ****ing hate A/B partitioned phones, makes custom ROMs such a chore. Sort of getting fed up with phones in general but at least this is working well for now.

Same here. It was so easy to do the Samsungs "back in the day", and you always had ODIN as a fallback if things went south. But this "A/B" partition nonsense (as well as other useless changes they introduce every time they "upgrade" Android, or certain structure modifications every so often when a new phone comes out) are a pain in the butt! Changes clearly aimed at making things more annoying/difficult for us people who don't want standard/corporate/unnecessarily bloated phones... Actually (as a former Blackberry user) I was tempted to get one of these Android based Blackberrys (the KEY2), but I didn't in the end precisely due to the fact that the bootloader can't be touched, and it can be rooted...

I want to switch to because the latest security update (August 2020) by Asus is soft bricking the phone for many users,
but I am seeing a few reports about some bugs (like the phone is stuck in the lineage boot symbol and cellular errors) in lineage os and also seeing few post with a lot of installation errors (like soft and total bricking) etc. and for me in developers options I'm not seeing the OEM and advanced boot options.(in my asus stock os) I just found out that I have to download the Unlock Boot loader apk separately from asus and install it using command prompt so I don't know how to proceed.
Can you please elaborate on how you actually did it with your Asus Zenfone 6(2019), I am a total noob in this and I also couldn't understand the partition a and b parts too.

I ve just done it on my V500N
took me about 2 hours so not so easy but not impossible
maybe I was lucky ?
couple of difficulties :
* first I could not get into EDL mode but I took the LG USB cable from the box and this worked
* the first time I exited the QFIL partition manager the phone rebooted to EDL mode but was not recognized as "qualcomm device" (there was an unknown usb device in the device manager) ... I just manually rebooted into EDL mode and the phone was recognized as "qualcomm device" this time and I could continue the method without issue ...

Oh I had to "fastboot flash abl_a abl_a.bin" and "fastboot flash abl_b abl_b.bin" otherwise my software version would be LM-G850N20z (instead of V500N20z)
I successully unlocked my V50 sprint version. It was fairly easy to do it.
1) To be safe, use the original LG cable. was not successful unlocking the bootloader the first time when I used a generic cable. Even though I was able to enter EDL mode.
2) Make sure to verify that the correct abl_a.bin and abl_b.bin versions are downloaded. The size should be about 1MB.
3) One part in the guide that was not clear was which abl engineering image to flash on a and b partitions. Well, it is the downloaded abl_a.bin that should be flashed in the abl_a and abl_b partitions.
I can see this is very recent which gives me hope, I just bought a v50 (v450vm) on a whim and am wanting to flash twrp and install an aftermarket rom on it. Is there a working version of twrp for this model and has anyone had any success in flashing it? I'm really wanting to the try the new unofficial dotOS version that was recently posted. Thanks in advance for any help/info provided.
I finally got around to rooting my Sprint V50 (LM-V450PM), and I agree that the overall process wasn't difficult. It's just that the guide has little to no explanation for specific models, causing a lot of confusion among users in that thread. It also doesn't help that the guide's OP pretty much posted it, edited it once, and never returned to XDA. And the TWRP installation guide posted by someone else is poorly laid out and has been rightfully criticized by others.
So, here are some pointers from my experience:
- Getting into EDL mode is a bit tricky in getting the timing right, so it may take a few tries to get used to it.
- As has already been mentioned, it's a good idea to use the LG OEM cable to connect the phone to the computer. Some people have been getting a "Sahara fail error" in QFIL that might be due to different cables
- You are backing up the abl and boot partition files for both A and B slots because you don't know yet which slot is active on the phone until you enter fastboot mode, which gets enabled after flashing the modified abl engineering file to replace both abl_a and abl_b partitions.
- For getting root, the newer Magisk versions no longer have a separate Manager APK and ZIP files; they are combined into one APK file now. So, instead of the Manager, you just install the single APK file from the Magisk website. From there, you should be able to patch your boot image file just like it says in the guide.
For TWRP:
- As lallolu mentioned in another post, there are two different versions: One for USA models and one for non-U.S. variants. I'm assuming that the U.S. one is for the Sprint and Verizon V50 while the non-U.S. is for all other types.
- You flash the TWRP ZIP package inside Magisk manually as a module. Note that this will remove root as it tells you on the progress screen when done flashing.
- Since for some reason, the touch screen is not active when entering recovery from a reboot, you need to turn off the phone and then enter recovery via the button combination. Some V50 models appear to have the button combination disabled, and there is a separate guide on here for getting it back, but on the Sprint model, it's still enabled: With the phone off, hold volume-up + power, and when the logo shows up, briefly release the power button while still holding volume-up and then hold power again alongside holding volume-up until the factory reset screen shows up. Answer YES twice, and you will eventually enter TWRP.
- TWRP will greet you with a password, but you just hit cancel to continue and get to the main menu. From there, you'll need to go to Wipe and Format Data (where it will ask you to type "yes") to remove encryption.
- Now you want to get root back by flashing Magisk. All you need to do is rename the Magisk APK file extension to ZIP and flash that in TWRP. Right after that, you should also flash a file called Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip which is also needed to remove encryption.
- Reboot into the system, go through the initial setup, and everything should be set.
For the Verizon model, I'm assuming that the "Enable OEM unlock" switch in the Developer Settings doesn't exist, and so the Verizon FRP image used for the Verizon G8 should also be used. The button combination to enter recovery may also be different. But everything else should be identical to the process for the Sprint model.

Did you briefly release the power button and then hold it down again? It may take a few tries to get it right if you are not used to doing this. The white factory reset screen will show up if you did it correctly.
I got into the white factory reset screen by doing the volume down+power. What do i do? Select erase or just exit?

As I mentioned above, you have to answer YES twice. If TWRP is installed, it will go there, and nothing will be erased. If it isn't installed, then the phone will do a factory reset.

Fastboot Loop

Hey guys,
I'm currently stuck in a fastboot loop after trying to install Magisk after flashing the Arrow ROM. I believe I messed up when choosing between boot_a and boot_b and flashing the patched img via QFIL. I initally patched boot_a, but when that didn't work I rebooted and patched boot_b. I did this because when I installed Arrow the instructions asked me to select the device slot that was inactive. I thought this meant it was swapping my device slot from A to B, but I probably got that very wrong. I did go into EDL mode and flash my original boot_a and boot_b in hopes it would reverse my mistake, but that did not work.
When I attempt booting the TWRP zip from the lineage guide archive I get this error "failed to load/authenticate boot image". I'm assuming this is because it wants an .img file and not a zip. If I try flashing the same zip file I get this error "Cannot flash this partition in unlocked state".
I did make a backup of all partitions via TWRP before this, but I'm unsure how I'd go about restoring everything. I do have access to EDL mode.
Any help is appreciated. This isn't a primary device though, so if it's bricked I'm not going to be that upset over it. Just something I wanted to try for fun. Haven't rooted a device in years. The G8 was a bit more difficult than I recall, so I'm sure I made a mistake somewhere.
Update 1
I flashed the ABL enginnering file and have some progress. Now fastboot shows my Active A/B Slot. It is set to B now, it was A originally, which I guess confirms that the Arrow OS instructions did switch from A to B. Maybe patching both through Magisk broke the boot image? If I'm understanding this correctly.
Update 2
While in fastboot (Phone was still looping) I entered the following command to change from Active Slot B to A, "fastboot --set-active=a". I've read this could potentially brick your device, but since my device was originally set to A and it was a brick at the moment already I took the risk. Booted into the recovery mode and selected factory reset. It took about five minutes, but I'm now back to the setup screen in the OS. Glad to be back to this point. Now I just need to figure out how to get Magisk Root working without repeating this process.
Update 3
Almost forgot to boot back into EDL, load up QFIL and push the original abl_a and abl_b files back to your phone. Otherwise you won't have any touch input.
Update 4
I seemed to have messed it up again. I tried locking the bootloader back, so I'd stop getting the error message upon bootup. I've decided there is no benefit to unlocking the bootloader and rooting for my purposes. Just wanted to try it out. After doing so I started getting an error stating the device failed security checks, so I pushed the abl engineering file back to the device to unlock it. After I went to push the stock abl_a and b files and decided to go ahead and push the stock boot_a and boot_b to make sure everything was back to normal. Which I didn't think was a big deal, but now I can't boot into the phone without using the abl engineering file.
At the moment I'm unsure what to do. If I push the abl_a and b stock files the phone goes into a fastboot bootloop again. Can't run any commands that way either. I have to boot the abl enginnering file to do so, which in turn allows me to get into the OS but disables touch input. So at the moment I think it's bricked.
If I could find a TWRP image file to flash with the abl enginnering file I could possibly perform a restore from the original backups I made, but I'm unsure where to find one since TWRP doesn't really exist for the G8. I just have a zip file.
Overall not too much of a loss, but the G8 was a great DAP. Hate to lose it. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.
Absolutely the same issue. I wrote about it in arrowOS thread . But I did not try to flash engineering abl. I'm begging you, if your will find solution, please write here about it. I am also notice you here, if resolve this issue.

Hey guys,
I'm currently stuck in a fastboot loop after trying to install Magisk after flashing the Arrow ROM.

It's a little confusing to try to determine where you are with this, but I can tell you that for the G8, to get twrp 'injected' into the boot partition, you use magisk and flash the zip, you don't 'boot' it.
So to accomplish that, you need **your specific variant** boot partition with magisk injected into it. You can do that yourself by using the magisk manager, or by simply asking if anyone has that available.
But, you'd then have twrp, and you could flash backups, but, from what you say, it's hard to determine if that's going to help.
If you have one of the variants that has the kdz available, I'd suggest simply use LGUP and flash your kdz, and start from scratch.
Lastly, re locking the bootloader. Numerous people make this mistake, but you can't re-lock it unless you're on pure stock (no modifications at all). If you try to re-lock it and yer not on a freshly flashed stock kdz, you can end with 'edl mode only' device.
cheers

As of right now I have a kdz for my phone, I have a Verizon model. Where I'm having trouble with now is I can't get the phone into Download mode. When I do it says my device failed a routine safety check and then boots to fastboot mode.
I also have a couple patched magisk boot partitions from the initial install. I loaded them via QFIL and I can now get to the Verizon bootup screen, but it gets stuck in a loop.
Update:
I got into Download mode by going into the system recovery and doing a factory reset. Now I need to figure out LG UP.
Last Update (Hopefully) Lol:
I installed the kdz using LGUP and it seems to have worked! I'm back in the stock OS and touch input is working. I'm relieved. I hate leaving things like this in a broken state if it's possible to fix it.
Thank you @AsItLies for responding and helping out!

What I did was put the phone back into EDL mode and open QFIL. I loaded my original magisk patched .img file. This got me out of the Fastboot loop. Then after holding volume down and power to reset the phone out of EDL mode I pressed volume down and power again to boot into the modified system recovery. This took a few attempts as it's really finicky.
Once I was in the modified system recovery I performed a factory reset. This seems to have resolved my "Failed routine security check" error when trying to access Download mode. Now that I was no longer getting that error I booted backup into the modified system recovery and hit power down. Make sure your phone is not plugged into your PC at this time or else it will just boot back up.
Once your phone is off and unplugged, hold volume up and then plug the phone back into the PC. Hold volume up until download mode starts. Now you can go go about installing the kdz of your phone.
Now I'm not sure what model your phone is, but since mine was Verizon I found a Verizon KDZ. Then downloaded LGUP. There are a lot of different variations of LGUP, but for my G8 I needed at least 1.16. So I download the Lab version (Probably not right. It scaled very small, but hey, it worked).
You also need to download the DLL for your phone and place it in your Program FIles (x86)/LG Electronics/LG UP/Model/Common folder. I did have to create the Common folder for some reason, but after I did everything worked fine. Make sure to rename the DLL "lgup_common" (without quotes).
You'll also need the LG Drivers for your phone as well, if you haven't installed them already.
I'll post a couple links for you below of where I got this information or files from. I hope this all helps. If you have any questions just let me know. I'm no expert, but I'll do my best to help.

Woo, thats great, that you resolve your problem! I will try to do all like in your manual.
imei.guru said, that for my imei i have :
Model: LGABCD
Region: ABC
LG LMG820N
With such region i did not find kdz at lg-firmwares.com
When my smartphone boot up (when it was worked) i see LG U+ when booting.
Also it was trying to set korean language. What do you think, which kdz should I take? And what version of android?
also solved my problems - here i described here how https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...lg-g8-alphaplus-alphalm.4354847/post-86038237

Can you share the LGUP 1.16 that worked for you. The link you provided has LGUP 1.16 [Orignal from LG] – No patched – Lab Version and that does not work or not even opening after installation. Thanks.

I just tried installing it from scratch and other than it asking for the LG driver it launched on my end. Are you going into your start menu and opening LGUP?

I find out that Windows 11 is the problem. Something to do with stupid driver signature. Used Windows 10 and that worked. Thanks.
