Phone stuck at fire logo , irrecoverably bricked? - Amazon Fire Phone

Hi,
I am new to xda and would like to thank everyone for their help in advance.
I have a fire phone that does not go beyond the fire screen. The phone becomes extremely hot and is stuck at that point. I tried calling amazon and since I deregistered the phone they can't do anything to help me. I don't have the developer mode enabled so wasn't able to use ADB. When I turn on the phone, it still makes sounds/vibration when i plug and unplug the charger, press the home button. Also, I can see internal storage when I connect the phone to a computer via USB.
I already tried to wipe the cache, factory reset the phone etc from recovery with no avail. Has anyone had this problem and has it been solved?
Thanks again for you time.

ethereal123 had a similar problem booting up Fire OS. The problem was fixed by reinstalling Fire OS. See my post to ethereal123, starting at 1 through 6. If that doesn't work, and your phone is still under warrenty, you should call Amazon back and get your phone replaced.

Hi All,

My fire then went into a boot loop where the kindle fire logo came up for 3 secs, then turned off, repeat. I then unplugged from my comp and tried again. now the logo comes up for 3 secs then goes to black screen. but i think the kindle is on bc when i plug into my comp it makes the usb connected sound. battery is fully charged. not sure what else to do. cant boot into recovery bc i cant connect to kindle fire utility...
any ideas?
-Thanks

Read all posts for the ROM before installation!
Code:
Kernel 3.0 (v1.2H) - Bugs:
- Only flash in TWRP
- Black screen for awhile on boot, wait it out
- Notification graphic glitch (my error, being fixed in v1.3 and v1.3H)
- Wifi - Works once; when you disconnect, you have to reboot to reconnect
- Sometimes weird bars appear on the screen (not too noticeable)
- Can't mount storage when not in TWRP
whoops...
doh! anyway to recover? if not no biggie i have a BB warennty ill run over and get a new one and do it right this time.... im retarded... thanks for the info!

That kind of attitude is what makes warranties more expensive for everybody and forces manufacturers to lock down their bootloaders so modifying devices is near impossible.
If you didn't install FIREFIREFIRE alongside CWMR, then you need to buy a factory cable (search for it) so you can get the device into fastboot mode. Then you can flash TWRP and install the ROM you want.
I'm sure you'll be going to Best Buy anyway.
You are correct sir! To bb i go!

[Q] Kindle keeps rebooting

Hi,
I have a big problem. I have a kindle Fire and I had TWRP installed. I installed a stock rom and it removed both TWRP and FFF. Now every time I turn it on and slide the lock over I get error messages. they are as followes:
Calander Storage (process com.android.providers.calandar) has stopped unexpectedly. ((FORCE CLOSE BUTTON))
process com.android.acore has stopped unexpectedly. ((FORCE CLOSE BUTTON))
This repeates as soon as I press the force close.
Then the Kindle Fire reboots.
If I type ADB Devices I get 4458002600000001 device
if I use the KFU it reports
ADB STATUS : Online
Boot Status :4000
none of the options work as I keep getting errors in FKU
Is it hopeless?
Please help me as the warrantee is done and I NEED IT BACK BADDDDDD
Thanks
Don't wait for it to fc on you race it to factory reset in the kindle settings and reset it or get a factory cable to force it into fastboot so you can reflash twrp and fff and then flash a rom.
Not sure what you are saying

I don't Understand what you mean by your post.
My kindle keeps rebooting BEFORE I can factory reset. I can get to the settings screen, but it only goes so far and reboots.
I am a newb so to speak and appreciate the help. Just wondering if you could give me specific details to follow. Have read posts but nothing stated works.
This is making me crazy.
There wasn't any hidden meaning in my suggestion some manage to be fast enough to make it to settings to factory reset it before it reboots. If it's not possible for you then a factory cable is needed. Hold the power button for 30 seconds till you are assured it is off then try the race from that powered off position anything you can do to shave time in your effort or gain a few seconds to reach the factory reset.
You r amazing

I am having this same issue, KFU says its still online 4000 but doesn't let me go into fastboot. Please help.
Try Soupkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038 if it still doesn`t work get a factory cable post # 9 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392693 .
This happened to me. I just turned it off, turned it back on, opened KFU, and rooted from there. I installed twrp Then mounted, copied the stock rom, wiped everything, copied stock by mounting again, and installed it. If it doesn't work then use soup kit or a factory cable
Devices:
Kindle Fire with AlienDroid primary and Modaco secondary
I can turn it on without a problem the problem is when it turns on I get the same error messages like in the first post and before I can erase everything it reboots. When I attach to KFU it says it's online and 4000 if I tell it to go to fastboot it says waiting on device.
On KFU, Just click root. Remember, this is while it is booting. By the way, what rom did you install. if you got it off Amazon and renamed it to Update. zip, after installing ics or jb, then my way should work. just keep trying and don't give up.
Devices:
Kindle Fire with AlienDroid primary and Modaco secondary
All fixed now, easiest way to fix it was to go into applications and clear data of the affected apps (calendar, keyboard and contacts) and it cleared right up and booted normally and now I am back to stock. Just glad it was something so easy. Took a couple of times of the kindle fire rebooting but finally was able to clear out the data affected.
should've thought of that at first. good job.

Kindle Fire Rooted Running TWRP ERROR HELP PLEASE...

I was running the cm10 build on my rooted kindle fire. its a kindle fire 1st generation. i was searching google for and android 4.2 rom for kindle fire, downloaded and flashed it. then when i rebooted, its not working anymore. it turns on normally and shows the blue kindle fire logo from FireFireFire. it says press power button to change oot options, like we normally do. i let it boot normally, and the rom gets stuck on the bootscreen. so i thought i needed to reflash and factory reset, so i force shut it down and turned it on again. this time, i held the power button to say Recovery. it says booting and the power button turn orange. but then it just gets stuck there. it wont boot into recovery. it just sits there all day with the orange light and the words booting. i cant boot into anything. Anyone Please Help Me... Happy Holidays...
Well for one I haven't seen a 4.2 available for the kindle fire so I am pretty sure your system is broken. Flashing it may have affected the other partitions in some way the one I would be concerned with is the recovery partition which you need access to in order to fix it. Your best bet now is soupkit, first to get some communication with the device, secondly to reflash recovery or force it to recovery bootmode. Here's where to start http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038.
one thing though
My Kindle Fire Has A Damaged Charger Slot, Where You Have To Put Pressure And Bend It Forward To Make It Charge. And I cant Move it When Its Charging My USB isn't doing well either, I Haven't Been Able To Connect My Kindle Fire To My PC In Forever! However, Thanks. If You Know A Way To Get The USB Port On The KFire Replaced Please Let Me Know please.

Use tape to hold it in place then maybe you can at least get it fixed so it runs.
Tried that so many times...

Sorry for the delay, Christmas stuff. I have tried for days trying to make a contact between the port and the serial bus. it hasnt worked. the best i could do is get it to charge, but it wouldn't do the same with the usb. im using an android phone usb, chich is VERY thick. mabye i should use the stock usb and give that a shot. i will let you know. :good:
stock usb failed
i used to stock USB to charge my kfire. after charged, its still in the boot loop as expected. i tried to get connection to the device my using my new usb and wiggling it back and forth. the kf utility still wont recognize my kindle no matter what i do. all i can get it to do is turn on to the bootloader. so to make a long story short, i have a boot loader which cant boot into anything. PLUS, i tried soupkit. wouldnt do a thing. i even tried the kfire unbrick utility. none of them can get a connection with my device.

Red Triangle Kindle can't boot.

I brought a Kindle Fire 2nd Gen and wanted to root it. As soon as I took it out of the box it started updating itself to 10.2.3. When I attempted to root it, it started working very slow and the boot logo would randomaly appear and now after alot of searching and trying to fix I now have a red triangle with the message
"Your Kindle device cannot boot.
You can reset your device to Factory defaults to fix this issue (all data will be deleted from the device).
<Menu options>
To reboot your device press and hold the power button for 4 seconds and release.
To reset to Factory Defaults, press the power button 5 times in succession"
Restarting doesn't work nor does trying to reset to Factory Defaults it simply goes back to the same screen.
you're boned contact amazon and tell them that it just keeps going to that screen... DO NOT SAY THAT YOU TRIED TO ROOT IT.

Don'y know what you did in the end, if you contacted Amazon for a replacement, or if you acquired a Factory cable.
This should be recoverable by using a special Factory cable to get Fastboot mode, from which you can flash backed up partitions.
Ideally you should backup your own partitions on your new KF2 straight after rooting it. This thread has the instructions:

[Q] KF 2 GEN not seen my computer on fast boot cable.

Rank newbie here. I did l watch the video of forum instructions for newbies and I have looked high and low for an answer I could understand. I am still stuck so reluctantly....Here we go...
I rooted my KF 2 Gen and had no problem doing so. Installed Google aps store, launchers etc. all on the stock OS.
All worked well until I got smart and decided to try a custom rom. It seemed to install fine. Asked all the options as I installed. Did I want Chrome, what launchers, etc. I wiped all the cache options and system. Went through all those screens and when it finally booted, I am stuck at the stock Kindle Fire logo in a boot loop. It will not connect to the computer. It seems to boot before it is recognized Dug on this forum, made myself a "factory cable" and it does work. When I plug it in, I get the Kindle logo a moment then a flashing gif of a stop light blinking red and green with the words. "Fast Boot" at the top of the screen. The problem is, I can not get the computer to "see" the Kindle Fire 2 Gen on this fast boot/ factory cable. I have tried switching ports, all the suggestions. The cable will launch the tablet into fast boot mode just fine however, the tablet does not connect to the computer. ( Windows XP Pro SP 3). I think I can figure out how to flash and restore on my own if I can get the tablet to communicate with the computer. I have no idea where to go now other than having a brand new paperweight. I just bought it two days prior and I suppose I could return it but the issues were caused by me so I don't feel like it's their duty to replace it.
Thanking you in advance for your assistance.
Go into TWRP, factory reset, and try again.

Thank you for your reply.
Sadly, the boot sequence terminates and it reboots before it ever gets to the TWRP stage.

When your device boots, do you see the blue Kindle Fire logo at any point?

No, Soup. I would never get to the blue logo but....
I got it flying! After I got to fast boot, I swapped the fast boot cable to a regular cable and all was down hill from there on. I'm looking at a booted tablet.
Beers on me next time I am in Austin!
