CM 12.1 nightly: Can't send GSM USSD-Codes (i.e. *222#) - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just started to use CM 12.1 (nightly) on my G3 32 GB (D855).
One major problem is that I cannot use any USSD Codes (refer to Wikipedia for details), like *222#. This code, entered as a phone number, for example, is used to enable my SIM card for SMS reception (I use multiple cards on the same contract).
On the stock LG ROM, I could enter this code as a phone number and start the call. The phone would then reply with a message like "messaging activated on this phone".
With CM 12.1, I can enter that number as well, but as soon as I click the "call" button, the phone app just displays *222 (the hash mark is missing). The code doesn't work and the provider just answers with a generic voice message. There's no way to add the missing #, when I try to do that using the phone keypad, the provider wouldn't accept it.
Is this a known problem? Can you send an USSD code? If you try to "call" the number *06# what happens? This should actually just show you IMEI.

Need help with HTCP3300 Supported operators

Hi,
A new operator tata docomo just started their operations here.
the mobile was purchased before this operator existed.
Now when i try to use the phone with this operators sim card, a message appears operator not supported please get an update from your device provider.
HTC here with their crappy support says pay up for an upgraded firmware.
I mean WTF???
just to enter a setting of a new operator??? why should i pay???
Help me get the settings entered manually.
Please tell me how to do it.
problem is that the operators name is not displayed (instead a number is displayed) and I cannot open the phone settings anymore, it closes as soon as it opens. which is really annoying. No problem with other operators.

Rogers (CANADA) Messaging Center Number

Let me guess...
You've discovered some hidden menus recently by typing codes in the dialer and find out this one: *#*#4636#*#* that open a "Testing" screen showing options like this:
Phone Information
Battery Information
Usage Statistics
Wi-Fi Information
Then you went to Phone Information
Tried some options (maybe played with SMSC:_________Update / Refresh ) but that was not doing anything so you exited the menu.....
after a while you wanted to send a text or someone was asking you "Did you got my text?" and you didn't....
Here's what hapened: Accidentaly you erased from your phone the "Messaging Center Number" wich is responsible for giving your phone the access to the SMS/MMS central of your provider.....resulting in loosing the ability to send/receive messages.
Don't worry, after having navigated XDA Forums I finally found my way to make it work again (yes that's because I did it that I now now it).
By the way, even if you Factory reset, flash a new rom/radio/kernel that mistake is gonna stay. You need to enter the number again.
in the *#*#4636#*#* hidden menu,
scroll down to "SMSC:"
in the box type: 0791715097960300
press the "Update" / "Mettre à Jour" (first button)
Now exit and Reboot the phone.
To test it, don't try to resend an old test message as it contain old message center number. I even suggest to delete previous text messages from your inbox if possible.
If it worked, everything should be fine by now. (you can even kudo me for this loll)
NOTE:
The real Roger Center number is +17057969300
the thing is that it need to be Encrypted in Hexadecimal PDU format.
(user MarcusVanSciver on XDA shown that link in thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412261)
That was for Orange Network (european have 8 number to phone number instead of 7 so I had to add a 0 at the end to make it work for Rogers)
after Encryption the number was now: 0791715097960300
This worked for ROGERS, the trick could maybe work for other networks but I can not validate the info. (but for sure this will not be the same number)
This had been tested with stock rom and Custom Rom With Custom Radio and Custom Kernel.
If this helped you, please give credit to this post ;-)

Hey man, this might be a bit old for you but i just got a galaxy nexus. I am having the outgoing text issue. I've tried that number and everytime i hit update it just says update error. Think you mightbe able to help me?
Damn this doesn't work for me
To program the SMSC (Text Messaging) number on Android devices, please follow these steps:
Go to the phone application.
From the phone application, press *#*#4636#*#*. (You will have to press the Call or Send button after entering this code in for some Android devices).
Tap on Phone Information
Scroll to the bottom to where it says SMSC and enter this number exactly as you see on this page (including all symbols): +17057969300
Press Update.

don't send SMS

I'm using roboto mod and my device can't send text messages. then i changed ROM to modpunks CM9 but it still fails . how did you think its my phone or ics mistake?
Try stock rom. If the problem persists it will be phone's problem .
Can you see incoming messages?

yes
Check SMS settings. maybe SMS carrier number is required!
If yes then check your operator SMSC number. I have this problem too. Go to your dialer and type *#*#4636#*#* don't call to this number. It open debug menu. Go to the first (Information about phone) and find "SMSC:" (It is somewhere down.) Then type in your operator SMSC number and press Update. I found my operator SMSC on google. Try this. Hope this help.

THANKS THANKS THANKS MAN!!!! You sooooo helped i get 1GB free internet data on my phone ^^

I747 - Stock room 4.4.2 - How to unlock with paid code ?

Baseband/modem I747UCUFNJ2, stock 4.4.2 rooted. Phone from AT&T working ok with Claro Brazil (code unlocked) . After upgrading, lost IMEI. Flashed new modem and IMEI and IMEISV ok now. Checked IMEI number, is the same printed behind battery on phone. But now can not make calls. Got message 'No SIM card'. Ordered a Sim card tray, replaced it, but got same message. Phone has strong carrier signal. After reading a lot, I ordered a paid unlock code, but seller stated that code doesnt work in android 4.2.2. Even though, I tried to insert it once. (#@7465625*638*# - have to use it since phone doesnt ask for code at starting). As stated by seller, got message 'unlocked unsucessfull'. So now, what can I do to unlock the fone ? I have access to a hiden menu by dialing *#197328640# , but dont know how to use it. I have read a lot during this week. Did no find any helpfull information. Any help will be apreciated. Sorry for my bad english.
Sounds like the baseband and bootloader and too new for the ROM. You probably need to upgrade from stock 4.2.2 to stock 4.4.2 or flash a custom ROM based on a TW-kernel.
I edited/corrected my wrong information. The phone is on 4.4.2 stock already.
Try this:
Method 1:
Go to the dial screen and press #7465625*638*#
Once prompted for code, enter 8 digit Unlock Code.
Method 2:
Turn off your Samsung phone
Insert a non-accepted sim card (different from the original carrier) and turn your phone back on.
When prompted for the unlock code type the UNFREEZE code provided. If you are not prompted, go to your dial screen and type the UNFREEZE code, now press enter, send or call. You will receive an unsuccesfull message, don't worry.
Once the phone freeze is disabled, the Network lock or SP Lock screen will appear
For Network lock enter the UNLOCK code provided. For SP Lock enter the SERVICE PROVIDER code
Your phone is now fully unlocked!
If you get "unsuccessful" again then hit Dismiss button and type *2767*3855# on phone keypad and try this procedure again (CAUTION! This will reformat all your data!).
Method 3:
You can try this method without the sim card or with the original sim card
Type #7465625*638*CODE# (CODE is the Unlock Code)
Phone deactivated message means its unlocked

Question Caller ID Issue

After I've rooted my phone, I've disabled Show Caller ID(so that others can't see my phone number), and now I cannot enable it; It shows an error "Unexpected response from network" I tap Ok and another error pops out "Network or SIM card error".
I've tried to reset the dialer app and it changed nothing(about the error).
But one thing that I wasn't able to do is to locate directly where this setting is stored(in the directory), and it has something to do with my phone number, since whenever I use a different SIM it enables Caller ID; While still being unable to access the setting itself -- uses default.
Or are there other ways to fix this?
Thanks in advance!
You'll need to talk to your cellular service provider to reset this if you see that error.
