Contacts apk for Verizon variant. - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed the contacts zip for the v10 and kept getting fc. I tried to delete and restore in tibu but can't get it to work. I think I deleted my backups also. Does anyone have the zip file? Will a factory reset get the app back if not?

What version is your Verizon ROM? You can always just get the system.img and then just extract the apk from it.

I'm on 11a. I found the files I needed in the g4 port for g3 thread. Most of the zip files for the g4 are there individually available for download.

I'm on 11a so let me know if you need anything. Aren't the files you found actually already ported?

Yeah They are already ported. I just had to search a little to find the files I needed. I have everything back in working order now.

That's good to hear... Usually best way to do it is to just get the system.img file, mount and then extract.

a great idea!! is it possible to do this for a ukd802 or would it be a completely different? anyhow im sure there will be people jumping at the chance to be able to do someting as simple as this to get back to stock there seems to be a lot of people having problems with kit kat and associated and we really ought to have a few different variants of this a really good idea, thanks for posting.

It is possible, but i don't have 802 phone to test.
There needs to be one of these for all models. Can you possibly make it available for the Verizon's lg g2?

Sorry, but i only have 805 for testing. But you can use this rom, just replace all .img inside it from Verizon .kdz or .tot

So first we unzip ur rom, then we use that tot/kdz extractor tool n extract the vs980 kdz/tot and replace all the img files from ur rom w the img files from the vs980 kdz then zip it back up right?
edit: oh also does this wipe internal storage like actually flashing a tot/kdz or do you keep the stuff on data/media?
Yes this is correct.
And by doing this will wipe everything, the same as flashing kdz

If you get this thing working, you better make a thread in the Verizon forum for it. The lg tool can suck it.

Sorry to keep bugging you bro but if i was to use a img creator tool to combine this the various bin files, (minus the laf.bin to keep access to fastboot) into 1 img file could it then be flashed using fast boot?

[Q] Manually update LG G3 firmware

Hi, I have a rooted (via Purpledrake) bumpd LG G3 V10h-EUR. I've found autoprimes thread re: updating firmware manually http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/psa-stop-taking-ota-updates-update-t2909412
I've followed all the instructions and everything went well but I have one question. I've extracted all the files and merged system.img. My question is, the modem and boot 'imgs' extracted from the dz have the 'bin' extension. I understand I have to rename the files before flashing (using Flash2 zips), does that include changing the extension from bin to 'img' OR have I done something wrong and there should be files somewhere in the extracted folder with the correct extension?
Thanks all

Nope, that's correct. Just rename them to .img's and you are ready to go. :good:

Just to say, I manually updated my G3 to V10L without issue.
And I just want to point out to anyone manually updating for the first time (like me) that they may find that TWRP takes a while to flash the 'system.img' (at least 4-5 mins for me). I was panicking thinking it had all gone
wrong as nothing was happening on the screen, lol, but it was fine in the end...be patient!
No data was lost after flashing system, boot and modem imgs. Root was temporarily lost but TWRP fixed that and for anyone running the Xposed Installer I had to go into that and click 'Install/Update' and everything was back to as it was.

how to extract dlpkgfile?

I have downloaded the lollipop update in which dlpkgfile is download along with few other, as I have goggled and searched so I know that dlpkgfile is a zip file but when I am trying to open with winrar or 7zip it return a error and I am not able to open it.
Can any one help me with it?
Where do you got that from ?
Maybe it's better to start with a KDZ and extract it if you want to mess with it.

I am sure when one is available it'll be posted there.
You don't need the H810 KDZ... All you need is the modified VS986 IMG and a few commands.

Did you follow this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765
I did this step by step. The only files you download/need are the VZW LG drivers, the LGG4_Root zip (using send_command and adb files in that zip), and the 11A VS986 IMG file.

also, my phone is booting with "security error" thats why I need to kdz to flash back to it. So should I now try with the Verizon variant?

I followed the directions so never got that error, I'm not sure what your best course of action is. I highly doubt you'd want to flash the KDZ for a different model, you'd probably brick your device or cause major issues if it works.

well the reason I got that error is because I used the h810c and my phone is the h810e. So Im going to have to wait until the h810e kdz is out.

That should be what you need, I came from a test build for Nash and used the FlashAll zip (RET specifically) from that site to take me all the way back to stock., Hence why each zip is ~3GB uncompressed.

There should be a NON_HLOS.bin in that folder, if im not mistaken a fastboot command posted here should fix that, but i should mention that i have not done this myself and can not vouch for it. maybe someone else has a more (for a lack of a better word) trusted way to fix your issue

I'm having the same issue. I've downloaded every 2+gb zipped XT1789-04 factory reset zip I can get my hands on. It says it's flashing a modem, but I still get no baseband when I go into fastboot. no wifi or cell signal. I've tried the commands linked above after flashing. If someone has a solution I'd be eternally grateful.

Thanks but NO GO .
I ran into this problem attempting to root the latest Oreo OCX27.1 and got into a bootloop. The only Oreo firmware available to download isis the previous OCX27 and I believe that downgrading to that causes the lost of baseband and imei. I am waiting to see when OCX27.1 will be available to download so I can try to return to stock to 27.1 see if it restores my baseband
The problem i am seeing is that none of the stock firmware are for ocx27.1. they are all for ocx27. i have seen an ota update that is for the ocx27.1 but i have not figured out how to extract it yet
