Is it possible that someone can Port Miui v7 for our device? I read On the Miui Forums that its possible to Port for every device with a porting Tool. So @ devs: is there someone who could Do this for us?

It would be awesome if they did! Please do.
I found MIUI from m8 forums based off gpe..... And sense kernels can boot GPE, but breaks GPS... So who knows , maybe I will or maybe I won't. Cause I dislike porting roms that I can't fix bugs on my own...

I no longer have a PC and actually been developing by my phone.. sounds weird and hard , and it is... But I've fixed GPS for IC this way.

You just ROCK! from the phone? btw, someone in a post is stressing that he got the insertcoind rom for the desire camera's fixed. i tagged you.
I don't know how hard is to to port rom from htc m8, but these device have the same hardware (I think so, but i'm not sure), only camera is different, obviusly
I want to try, I will collect infos and stuff during this week, if someone is interested..

Do you say that if we put sense kernel (the one from 4.4 base) + gpe base (from htc m8) + libs we can boot gpe?

As I could see here a Nexus One has a fully working MIUI ICS rom on MIUI United States site. Also, as much as I know both N1 and Desire has the same hardware under the hub, so porters I don't see any reason not to see it on Desire.

If you read the thread you will see that this rom has the same problems as all the rest. Mainly handling video recording and playback. The kernel is still 2.6 and the rom base is definately based on evervolv sources. So, no there's nothing new in this rom.

Now I have fully working ICS without pain...
ICS has nothing interesting to offer, if I would change phone that would be for "Butter" for sure why didnt you go for that? (or it's on the list for JB?)

After trying a lot of different rom, I tried first Sense 4.0 porting and I Tell u we are almost ready. Desire is still a good phone!!

Oh yeah. The Desire is a great phone. It's not as fluid as new devices such as One X, but it has nothing it can't do ! A perfectly usable phone for everyday use... :fingers-crossed:

As the thread title insinuates, will the stock android version on the HTC ONE, when its released in the US have any practical benefits for us HOX owners as well? Wonder if dev's would be able to borrow anything from that system.

Yesterday i was able to boot up a HTC One M8 rom (Android 4.4.4) on my Desire EYE. Alomst everything is working, expect of the camera and wlan for now.
As it is only Android 4.4.4 i do not think this rom would improve our Desire Eye. So i wanted to ask you which rom you would like to see on our Desire Eye and if there is any reason why to port a stable Android 4.4.4 M8 rom to our device ?

I am trying it at the moment. I got it already booting up, but when i am at the SetupWizard the system crashes. The biggest problem could be the missing AOSP Kernel...

Alright, i also think that a AOSP/CM rom is worth the effort.
Booted up a AOSP Rom but extremly unstable for now. We will need a proper AOSP kernel to get everything working.

I think CM/AOSP work on the desire eye too cause it works on other Devices too. Paranoid Android or CM11/12 would be awesome

When HTC brings us Lollipop, I will deliver CM12/PA/AOKP. Not worth investing too much time into an Kitkat these days.
A Sense 7 port from the M9 would be fantastic. I really want this device but the development is non-existent. Why?
Who knows, for some reason it didn't raise too much interest in devs and people in general. Too bad, because it's very very good.

Sadly the main issue is waiting on a lollipop bootloader for the eye. I have tried multiple times running various lollipop roms and can't get anything to boot and there aren't any true devs that own our device that are willing to put that much effort in. Once we get a lollipop base to work with I will be continuing the sd roms development though!

Not full sense 7 but I have provided the files for you to try out some of it in the themes and apps thread for our device.... I would provide link but it's not like there is a ton of posts to sort through around here ?
Has anyone tried to port Harman Kardon's audio enhancements of the M8 on the Desire Eye? It should be easy since both phones have pretty much the same hardware except for the cameras, which has nothing to do with the audio

Very doubtful at this point, and even if they did the camera would almost certainly not work. You can get a launcher which looks just like miui but a full Rom is far from a reality .

Tried the APK from the official website. Need to make an account. Doesn't run, force closes straight away. Fyi the camera for non sense roms is now working so that's something. Also miui was actually ported to the m8 and the m7 before it.

That was thanks to the GPE models.
Since it's working here, it can be ported. Might take a while, but love the interface.
