Is any dev getting this device? ColorOS is pretty boring on this and it has a lot of potential for CyanogenMod, on the plus side the R7 Plus is already in CM merges

i guess it will be over $400 according to the official.

In Australia I got one for $AU529. It is a good phone.

make sure you copy the "Oppo Tools 1.6.5" to your internal memory and enable the option to install unknown apk (in security settings)
make sure it is version 1.6.5. I read that version 1.6.4 is not working.
install Oppo Tools 1.6.5
once you install Oppo Tools (pretty big apk around 60-80mb) start the app. there will be a root option.
click root after that it should ask for reboot.
i took a screenshot of my Rom Version and root validator for proof.

Just some information Oppo Tools does not work on build No R7sfEX_11_151210.

flashing will wipe your data. so make sure you create a backup of your data and copy them to your computer.
flash the previous firmware here using the stock recovery
follow this guide here
here is a short summary for reference to everyone looking to root this phone with OppoTools 1.6.5:
Firmware: "R7sfEX_11.A.04_INT_004_201511111804" = rooting works with Oppo Tools 1.6.5 (Tested and Confirmed myself)
Firmware: "R7sfEX_11_OTA_005_all_wipe_201511191402" = rooting works (Confirmed by stupidfellow1997)
Firmware: "R7sfEX_11_OTA_006_all_201512101004" = rooting does not work! Oppo blocks OppoTools in this Firmware from doing so.

I've ordered one, but It will be shipped on the 2nd of may. As far as I've read the zp980 rom is fully compatible with the C2. This will most probaly mean that any custom rom for the 980 will work on the C2.
The rooting method is the same for all the MTK quadcore phones out there (hence a few exeptions), so that won't be a problem.
I bought one in Hk thru Taobao.com and I flashed it to Android 4.2.1 and is pre rooted.
Very fast and smooth after changed to Android 4.2.1. Ali OS is very laggy and slow.
The screen is fantastic, the color and viewing angle are actually better than my LG optimus G pro.
Too bad the phone doesnt support 4g and battery only 2000mah. The phone feels quite plastic too.
Overall the phone is quite decent as long as u install Android on it.
can you please provide the full tutorial and requiered files, thanks

Just today I received my C2. Compared to my old Motorola Defy, the phone is really huge.
It came with Android 4.2 preinstalled, I just had to root it. But there is one thing that's bothering me. Since the ROM is apparently for Zopo ZP980, it report incorrectly the size of internal storage. Furthermore I would like to disable it at all as user accessible memory and use all 4GB for apps.
Newbie Guide
Sry noob question but do I need to root before flashing the rom?
Thanks.
@kaunlunlee
can you pls provide step by step tutorial for newbie like me?
Thanks a lot..

Welcome bro.
Need some help
Development team! I really need some help. I have a blu life PURE (Rebrand Gionee Elife e6 - Mediatek 6589T). My last rom was COLOR OS Rom for QMobile Z4 (also rebrand Elife Gionee e6) , everything great, but I wanted to try another rom, so I flashed via CWM the rom z4Amigo for Qmobile, but it gave error status 7 on CWM, and I couldn't Install it. I already had wiped data and factory reset, now my phone is stuck on boot logo. I tried to flash other rom with SP Flash Tools, I use windows 8.1, my blu is recognized normally, but SP always gives error 8037, even if the scatters are with the same values! Now, I do not know what to do, maybe the problem is with my SP FLASH TOOLS, maybe with my Windows, I don't know, I can't mount USB storage with CWM recovery, what would save me! So, I see no solution, I would be thankfully if someone could help! Thanks in advance =)
Regards from Brazil :laugh::good:

Is it possible to install ClockWorldmod recovery or any other recovery on the phone with this flashtool?
i have micromax a46 bolt having MTK 6572 Dual Core Processor...i had rooted it first...then i searched for its cwm but i could not get...however i wanted to modify it so i had installed link2sd and root explorer...i had successfully mounted ext2 and linux swap partition on it...i linked user apps...then i went to change bootanimation and shutanimation....so i did it with the help of root explorer...then i went to check the modified animations...and my phone got stuck into bootloop....i googled and XDAed and found that using SP flash tool i can re-install the stock rom so followed all the instructions about using sp flash tool step by step but when i tried to connect my phone with pc through data cable, there is no response from pc as well as SP flash tool...note that i had installed micromax a46 drivers but though this problem is existed.............
what about this error,, "PMT change for the room,it must be downlaoded"

Mstar S700 (Review) 5.5" HD, Touch ID, MTK6752, 4G LTE, Android 5.0, 2GB RAM/16GB ROM
The Mstar S700 is the EVIL twin to the Mlais M7 it is very similar in design and specifications, but the Mstar is up to 40 USD cheaper. But does not have touch buttons with backlight like the Mlais M7 does. Also the rear camera is only an OmniVision OV and not Sony IMX135 like in the Mlais M7. And last but not least, the S700 comes with 2GB RAM, where the M7 has 3GB RAM. So they are not exact the same.

mlais and mstar is not the same, before you flash something that you dont know, make sure that you have a stock rom from mstar, but that moment mstar dont have it for customers, so, you can brick the phone, first make a copy from your boot and your recovery with adb and than you can flash first the recovery from mlais, only recovery first, if works, maybe yes, you can root without the boot, by the way, my mstar arrives tomorrow and i can make more test.

Yeah actually I wrote these steps. But before we do it like that we need the original scatter file and original recovery.
The scatter I included in the RAR file is only for the Mlais M7 not for the Mstar, so please don't use that on the Mstar. Only the recovery is needed to flash, not the boot.
i am starting a forum for mstar users, is for spanish people but english is welcome too.

yes sir, GT9XX_hotknot..
Sorry bro, CWM recovery created has some issues.
After loaded correctly, it restarts the C55 after some seconds (10-15) and .. also without using any functions of CWM.
It's very strange and first time in my experience so far..
Any suggestion? can you help me to find solution ?

Ok thanks for the confirmation.
Not sure about the CWM maybe we are now just finding it's limits with LP5.1 and the newer SoC.
After all we are still using something made for the mt6595 on KK.
This is why we really need a working touch as TWRP will soon be the only recovery able to cope with the new android versions (M) and SoC's
I will have a play with CWM when I get the phone.

in the meantime a round up between Umi Iron, Siswoo C55 and Meizu M2 Note:
Hey guys,

how did you installa Xposed?
i's only possible to install xposed with double step procedure
1- install xposed zip from custom recovery (according to arm 64 bit cpu and sdk22 for android 5.1)
2- install the apk after reboot
no other ways.. or if you try, you have for sure bootloop

Yeah I did it that way. I finally managed to install Xposed, but it actually made a factory reset. That wouldnt bother me, but the home button, the notification bar and the data did not work anymore.
great phone

Yes, I used OTG mouse! I finally managed to put xposed on my phone. I deinstalled greenify before xposed installation and it worked. I don't know if that was the poblem, but it seems like.
Thanks for your help!

Just got it today bro :victory:
I spent all day trying to get Philz, CWM to stay booted and stop force closing
I even gave TWRP a shot in the vain hope I could get the touch to work but no luck.
Still I did manage to get @carliv CWM v3.3 working :victory:
I just need to fully test it first by doing some backups, restores, wipes, etc etc :fingers-crossed:
I am going to bed now for some well earned sleep
Very good news... and very good work! [emoji106] [emoji4]
CWM and Philz Recovery
Well here are the fixed versions ported by me for the Siswoo C55 (Still no touch that's a kernel issue not a recovery one)
First is @carliv CWM (Swipe version it has slightly larger font which I prefer being old  ) Thread here for thanks
Next is @yuweng Philz recovery very Thread here for thanks
Be sure to visit both the above and give thanks to them.
I have siad it before and will say it again that without @carliv original work NONE of mt67xx 64bit based devices would have a custom recovery it's all thanks to carliv's original efforts that anyone has a custom recovery on these devices. So Big thanks to carliv :highfive:
Big thanks also to my friend @yuweng again without yuweng's original MTK development we would be years behind where we are now. :highfive:
I have Posted both recovery's on needrom here
PS: Do not mirror or host these elsewhere please
Simply link to this post or needrom so that proper credit is given to the right people.
Don't forget to hit my thanks button too

Official Launch (blog)
Ulefone has just released a new 5-inch device named Ulefone U007 (yes, 007!), a budget phone with low specs but also with low price (they declare more or less 60 USD).
As a 5-inch device, it is a pretty compact smartphone supported by HD (720p) resolution, good enough for a small device.
U007 is equipped with Sony IMX149 camera (8MP), interpolated to 13MP, supported by the 5-piece lens kit and F/2.0 aperture. Ulefone says the 2MP front camera, interpolated to 5MP, will offer above-average experiences. (maybe some software additions?)
It packs the quad-core chipset MTK6580A (clocked at 1.3GHz) which should be sufficient for daily use and according to Ulefone official video, racing games like NFS: Most Wanted runs quite smoothly on this device.
It will come with Android 6.0 pre-installed, and Ulefone promises they’ll constantly release OTA Updates to improve the software as they do for their other products.
Similar to the Ulefone Vienna, it features an unified plastic body with brushed finishing, but this time that haven't adopted the side-mounted SIM tray on it. Instead, they choose to allow users to take the cover off to get access to the SIM cards slot (separated) and MicroSD card slot.
Also this one, just like the Vienna, has adopted the BOX sound chamber for better music experience, so speaker quality should be pretty good.

Disclaimer: I do not own this device, do not ask me support question because i won't be able to reply you.

Anyone managed to root yet? Or better yet get a custom ROM working? The stock one is good but it would be nice to get something fresh.

Small manual how to flash recovery from 4pda.ru
1. Download Sp-Tool
2. Download recovery with scatter file
2. Install drivers
3. launch SP Flash Tool.
4. In SP Flash Tool press Scatter-loading and choose downloaded MT6580_Android_scatter. Be sure scatter and recovery.img have to be in one folder
5. Press Download in SP Flash Tool, power off phone and connect to PC. Wait while Recovery flashed and appears DOWNLOAD OK. Disconnect phone.

Anyone managed to access root using steps above? Doesn't seem to work for me.
Is your system up to date? The IMG file is for the latest Version. Can you you find the folder /su and the file /init.superuser.rc ?
