Xiaomi USB Type-C adapter works with Oneplus two[OTG Works] - OnePlus 2 Accessories

It is a USB Type-C to MicroUSB adapter for Xiaomi Mi 4C but it works with our Oneplus Two, the charging speed is fast (same as type C cable) , file transfer and OTG works! It is wayyyyyyyy cheaper than Oneplus's adapter. The build quality seems good enough as well.

Type-C adapter + OTG adapter + standard USB flash drive works fine.
Type-C adapter + OTG adapter + USB hub + gaming controller + USB sound card + another USB hub + 4 flash drive all working at the same time! (am I crazy?) (I have to use StickMount app to mount 4 flash drive at the same time)

But how do we buy it? Is it available anywhere online in India? And what approximately will be the cost of it?

I have bought some adapters from Aliexpress, no-name, and cost me $0.75 / item. I can charge, send and receive data flawlessly with my old Micro usb cable with these, but I didn't try OTG, but it should work, too.

Sorry i lives in Malaysia, it cost RM20 here, cheaper than Oneplus's adapter. You can search "Xiaomi USB Type-C Adapter" online.

You may order it from tinydeal.com: http://www.tinydeal.com/-p-156512.html

Just bought 2 for €1.71 (aprox. US$ 1.88). From Tinydeal.
Let's hope that OTG works. I have a couple of cheap adapters from eBay, and everything works, except OTG.

USB "filter", make USB ports look like high power chargers... it works

Recently bought this adapter from amazon, a mfg named +pwr. It makes your lower power (computer and non samsung ac adapter) usb ports look like full power ports. Using it removes the red X from the charging icon and also allows the device to draw the max power available on the port - it's not going to magically make a 1 amp usb port draw 2 amps - but it will allow the device to draw max instead of a lower rate due to low power charging mode.
I've tested this on my PC, in my car and on an older Samsung ac adapter.
Well worth the 5 bucks I'd say. I'm planning to get one for each of my charge points and leave them installed.

Just be careful. There are adapters out there that were of an older design, primarily for the issue with iOS devices. Those won't work (you'll still see the red x). The one from Amazon works (I've tested it) but I can't comment on others. I'd suggest making sure that it at least explicitly states newer Samsung devices to be safe.
I don't suppose anyone knows of anyone in the UK doing these ? They are quoting 6-8 weeks for delivery to UK.
I've done a quick search, but am wary of knock-offs as OP rightly warned about. Would like to get something like this that people have tried and tested, but would prefer not to have to wait 2 months to get it !
Its by the same company. Think itll be the same?

Not quite the same as this fits on the other end, but if you have a micro USB cable it works perfectly. Tried and tested on a standard USB charger, PC and laptop. Arrived in two days.

Well, is there?

Also, is there a ROM beside stock ROM which has IR blaster working?

I bought one in Hong Kong !
It's NOT an Adapter, it's a direct micro USB to HDMI male plug Cable !!! with optional micro usb plug for charging !!!
HKD - $200 = around USD $25 - 26
Well... I don't want to setup my HTC One and shoot video of my LG G Pad and my 27" Dell Monitor.
What I did is, just plug in the HDMI and micro USB, and it works, it do take around 2 seconds to display the G Pad content on the Monitor.
But it run smoothly afterwards. with sound output from through HDMI also.

Slimport micro USB to HDMI Cable !!!
Any Special settings needed in CM11?
This cable does not work on the 20 Jan CM11. Unless there are some special settings.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009LAZG2M/
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AWHPGJQ/ (Using this only when using S3)
EDIT: I flashed back to rooted Stock and the cable does not work with that ROM either.
The cable does work with KitKat in OG Galaxy Nexus (ShinyROM) and with Galaxy S3 with CleanROM 7 (based on Samsung Stock).
Looks like the G Pad is very picky which cable works. This is a drawback of the LG I guess.

You did miss something. You didn't describe it as a Slimport adapter. You said that it wasn't an adapter but a direct micro USB to HDMI cable. That's not the same thing as a Slimport adapter. Now, you are contradicting yourself by saying that it is, indeed, a Slimport adapter and not a direct micro USB to HDMI cable. I'm sure that this is just a language issue on your part, but maybe you can see why I was confused by your post.

The issue you are referring to was ironically with the stock OnePlus cable and not specifically third party ones. I've used reviews on Amazon as a good guide for an aftermarket cable.

I have bought 2 of those (the 1,2m version) and I cannot recommend them for sure. The first one died about a week after buying it. The second one is alive after almost a month although I'm getting ghost touches using it with my op2. I've had good experiences with BlitzWolf USB type-C and micro-USB cables. Have ditched the OnePlus cable that came with my OP2 as it was killing my non-OnePlus chargers, and replaced it with a couple of the BlitzWolf Type-C to Type A 2.0 cables (USB3.0 is useless anyway with the 1+2). No issues at all so far.
Can't post link (first 10 posts and all), but they can be found pretty cheap on Banggood.
My stock cable started charging slow.. Took to service center and for India the warranty for accessories is only 6 months, when the rest of the world it's 1 year.
Had to buy a new one.. But a cable from Ebay.in and it's working quite well.. Looks like stock cable but a bit lower quality.
Hi!
And what about the OTG cables? Can anyone working USB-C (Male) to USB-A (Female) OTG cable for OnePlus2 recommend working? No adapter (from USB-C micro-USB) solutions for care!
I've got 3 of these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B011995DDO/
They've been recommended by Benson Leung, the Google engineer who has been testing USB-C cables, the OnePlus cable, however, he said it wasn't fit for purpose.
The reason he said they were bad is because the resistor used is not up to the purpose.

USB otg support??

Please confirm if USB otg is supported..

OTG should work in principle, however propably only with a cable from Oneplus. It does not work with a OTG cable from Anker (just tested it).
Hmm, so this is strange. I have a Sandisk OTG enabled USB drive that I just connected to the OP2 using the OnePlus Micro-USB to Type C adapter. Worked perfectly to backup all my stuff from the old phone. I unplugged here and connected it as is to the OnePlus 3 and it doesn't work. Reconnecting to the OP2 works fine, all of the data shows up on PC also, but just won't show up on the OP3. Very strange, still trying to figure this out.

That is exactly what my doubt is.. I too have read that plugging in the dual otg drive via adapter doesn't works... If someone can put some light on this, we will be grateful
i purchased this Dash Micro G3 Type-C: Mini MicroSD Card Reader and it works great so far, i am mainly using it as a back up, it comes with a cool little keychain so i have when i need it, pretty compact too, does seem kinda slow, its only transfering at 15MB/s i know the sd card is way faster than that, but it works.

Well, for me the following Anker product works like charm:

I tried it again and you're right... My cable has a extreme tight fit at the connector so I was a bit afraid to push it in with full force. Now I did and it moved in a tiny bit more.
Now it is working fine. So thanks @MagDag for your reply and I can now confirm that the Anker cable works fine too.
Hah indeed - it's really tight fit... I also was very careful in the beginning because I don't wanted to destroy my phone.

Same here. Using OnePlus USB C to micro USB adapter and Sandisk OTG USB drive. It does not seem to detect the OTG drive

Sadly this is not available at Amazon India
i doubt, that the phone actually recognizes the cable itself... however it will depend on how much juice the target device needs vs what the phone provides...

The OnePlus 2 type-C to micro-USB adapter is a non-standard thing. It was required for the OP2 because the OP2 type C USB is broken.
Try a generic adapter. That's the real test. Generic adapters didn't work on the OP2.
Hmm, so on the OnePlus forums, this seems to be the consensus ... The OnePlus Adapter was for the non-standard Type C on the OP2 and will only allow charging on the OP3, but not OTG. So far, third party standards compatible adapters seem to be working fine. I just ordered the Xiaomi Type C adapter and should get it in a week. Will post here again if it works.

I bought this one from Skiva https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0140YRZDQ/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And use it with a cruze usb 3, the only drawback is that is taking forever to see some mp4 videos recorded from a gopro that are saved in the USB
I bought this and it works perfectly: http://www.ebay.com/itm/351729709215?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
I can confirm the Xiaomi Type C Micro USB adapter does NOT work for OTG. Yes, I had OTG enabled, no go!
I'm not seeing an option to enable usb otg in settings/storage. I'm on Oxygen 3.1.3. Am I just missing it? Do I need to unlock developer options first?

Nvm. Found it in the 3 dot menu. Ravpower usb otg works.

Is there any cable which would allow you to charge and read an external flash drive? Never tried OTG before, so I don't know if this is even possible.

Quick Charge 3.0 cable

Hi, I'm pretty new to this Quick Charge 3.0 thing,
I was wondering which usb type-c cable you guys recommend? Will any type-C cable work? Does it need to be certified for Quick Charge 3.0 to work with QC3.0?
Thanks

It's actually the power brick that's the most important feature for QC 3.0.
This is the one I'll be getting from Amazon once I get my phone. Definitely need two cables I believe; one for charging and one for data.
Orzly® - New Certified USB 3.0 USB-C to USB-A Male Data & Charging Cable (3A/5V) - For Use With Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL and Other Type-C Supported Devices (1M, BLACK)

That Orzly is pretty expensive for a 1M cable.I
just received an i-Orange 2M cable from Amazon for 10.49 and the build quality is top notch. It also charges at the same 2950mah as the stock cable, according to Ampere.

I don't need a longer cable and a 1 meter cable is sufficient for me. I am just using it for data transfer but is is also capable of the charging power up to 60W (3A)
I got these, you get three at a decent price.

How are you getting 20v from a USB charger?
Sent from my ZTE A2017U using XDA-Developers mobile app
Cables look good. I'm also trying to find decent quality and price wall adapters (the thing that plugs your usb cable in your wall outlet).
I bought my phone while living in China and they gave a Chinese adapter (of course)...

If you would like to read about the technology. Q5 answers quickly but there is much more reading available.
https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/quick-charge/faq
QC3.0 varies voltage from like 3.6v (going off memory) up to 20v based on what device needs.

Thinking of Ordering it. Thanks
But it is apparently only usb2 as far as transferring from computer. Don't our phones support usb3 transfers?
I have an Aukey I bought that does nothing when connected to ac block.

yes you want usb 3.0 cables atleast for the ones you are using for data transfer. You can buy some cheaper 2.0 ones you will just use for charging.
I just bought these AUKEY USB-C to USB 3.0 Cable with Durable Nylon [5-Pack 3.3ft*3+6.6ft*1+1ft*1]. It seems like a good price for 5 cables.

I think these are the same as the single 6' cable I bought. It workd for data transfer but wasn't even seen at all when plugged in to charge. Please report your experience. Thanks

The axon 7 included charger only goes upto 12v. (Class A Qualcomm charger)
There are chargers out there that also goto 20v. (Class B QualComm charger)
I am not sure that the axon 7 or any 820 chipset can take 20v. 12V is good enough for me, don't need the extra heat in my phone even for the short period of time.
Class B chargers are designed for Laptops and other devices larger than a Smart phone.

As the voltage goes up with QC, the amp goes down.
9V/2A and 12V/1.67A
You are not going to get 20V/3A to reach 60 watts. Hell, your phone would melt with 60 watts.
I'm looking for a cable that is the same flexibility as the stock ZTE cable, preferably usb 3.1 but definitely QC 3.0 compatiable.
The USB cable had a lot to do with charging your device, quick charge or not. Non-standard USB-C cables can kill your device. I'm sure many of us have heard about Benson Leung and his reviews of USB-C cables. If not, he's a Google engineer that, for some reason, took it upon himself to review USB-C cables and see if they are "safe". Dude killed his Pixel C with a bad cable:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...ous-on-paper-it-allegedly-fried-his-hardware/
I suggest taking a look at the compiled list of cables and adapters he has reviewed or search for his profile on Amazon. I picked up a few USB 3.0 A-to-C cables by VCE that he reviewed and they work well. They are decently priced too. Suggest getting the 3 pack with a 3.3, 5, and 6.6 ft cable for ~$15.
I ordered this the other day, it's supposed to be approved by the Google Eng. (Benson Leung) who's been going around checking USB C cables.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A07CE8S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Will receive it later today.
Now i'm looking for a nice type-C to type-C cable for data transfer since i have a type-C port on my XPS 15. I looked at some Thunderbolt 3 cables but they're going for around $25+ which seems too high.

Mostly it is crappy chargers that kill your device. A non-spec cable is not too bad if the charger can deliver 3amps reliably (using it as a data cable might not be too great of an idea though) or will gracefully deliver less than that.
And either way, QC3.0 is in clear violation of the USB-c spec so go figure.
