Sound and charging issues with CM - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've switched from Barebone ROM to CM and have encountered two strange "issues" with sound and battery charging problem.
1. Is there any way to volume of in app sounds? For example in Facebook app sound then I press "Like" button is too loud, and only way to silence it is to set your Ring volume lower. Maybe is there some way to force sound control of this app to use Media volume, or something different? Because I like to keep my Ring volume at max at all times.
2. I use Poweramp to listen to music. It pauses if someone calls me or messages me. But in CM it autopauses if I hit like button in FB app (maybe it thinks it's a call, if "like" volume is only adjustable by Call volume...). It's quite annoying to be honest. Can I somehow make make player autopause only when ringtone/message tone is played?
About battery now.
I've got charging problem. ~4 of 5 times battery won't charge. It gives me error message ( http://imgur.com/UBfhJCr) even icon in status bar shows its charging - but it isn't. It happens on stock quick charge wall adapter with stock USB cable. Strange thing is that it works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. I have no idea why. For now I just keep restating phone till it finally starts to charge. And, by the way, it stops charging at 87% last time and now it stopped on 43%. Rebboting seems not helping to start charging again. LED switches off and phone seems to act like charger isn't even plugged in. I've found similar issue being discussed on CM forums, but only real answer here was to reboot device (which for now isn't working for me). Has anyone experienced similar issues?
Update:
So my phone died on me on work. It wasn't charging even in bootloader mode. After turning it off and plugging in charger screen showed big battery icon, later on small battery icon with percentage inside (in my case 1%). But after ~10seconds screen and LED switched off and phone wasn't charging (tried to charge like this for 3 hours, still 1%).
So after returning home I plugged it in USB connected to PC and it's charging! I also plugged my LG G2 mini into same genuine Asus wall adapted I used and it's also charging... So charger isn't broken, nor phones charging port... Now I'm out of ideas why Asus charger stopped charging my Zenfone.

There's an option in settings > sounds (I believe) to link notification and ringtone volume, maybe that has something to do with it?

Try charging your Zenfone with the LG charger. If that works, it's likely that the quick charge part of the ASUS charger or your Zenfone isn't working correctly. Try reflashing CM or go back to stock ROM and see if it charges with the ASUS charger then.

(Q) How to turn off notification beeps

I need to turn off the beep that occurs when certain actions take place such as;
Low battery
Removing/ inserting USB cable
There maybe other actions I'm not thinking of..if anyone knows of others, please post
I would like to turn off these beeps without putting the phone on silent. This is especially important when these beeps occur while wearing headphones, as the beep goes off what seems to be max volume, which I'm sure will cause me to go deaf with continued use! Any ideas anyone?

Same here
I was just about to post the same issue. I particularily detest the beep when I connect the USB cable, which I sometimes do when my wife is asleep, and the beep is quite disturbing. Also, when I pull out the USB after charging, the display is auomatically - and annoyingly - lit.
You can fix it - just put new ringtones, that what I do, and is better than before.
Note: You must root your phone!
? we just want to remove the usb connect notification...?
----- ^^new ringtone can't do anything for this ... :=)
any ideaS?

I don't know how to keep the display dark, sorry.
However, if you turn your phone to vibra or silent mode, at least the beep is not played. The phone will still vibrate once when pugged in and out, but it is less annoying.
maybe.. someday.. somehow...

but yes, especially with your wife sleeping.. a good suggestion :=)
Maybe (i also contacted Motorola) there will be an solution soon.
I sent them a mail with bugs / features / problems i discovered over the last weeks using the DEFY. From basic things which dont work (like this) to other "problems" ... and as response (the support is really good - less than 24hours for an answer) i got told that there'll be an maintenance update very soon.
so hopefully :=) *thumbsUp* :=) (and your wife can sleep without being disturbed :=)) - area europe / austria

Wireless Charging Notification

i am using wireless charger which makes my s3 pop up notification and sound when it starts charging or when battery is full, can someone point me where the notification sound is located in the system or how to disable, the only thing that stops from beeping is turning notification volume to off, which stops all of my notification sounds, any ideas?

Are you rooted? And the sound that it makes, is it the same sound as all your other notifications make?

yeah i am rooted, it makes a beep when put on charger and when battery full, only solution i found is to put phone into vibration mode or turn notification volume all the way down
I had the same frustration...
I recently came across the XPosed framework and have developed a module for it that:
Prevents the screen from turning on when a charger is connected
Disables the wireless charging popup
Disables the beep when a charger is connected
Prevents the screen from turning on when the battery is full
I will post a module once I've got past the min 10 post limit on dev threads.

Not ringing when charging.

So I just noticed today that my s3 isn't ringing when plugged into the charger. I Can't remember it ever doing this before. Pc, wall and usb connection no ringing. Am I forgetting a setting some place? The screen comes on one very short vibration and that's it.
Have you tried a battery pull? Go into you sound settings also and look around there. Could be a recent app you installed also.

Also, if you have installed Light Flow, there is a setting in it that can silence the device when charging cable is inserted.
Search all the settings under the charging settings. I have found that sometimes the settings change when the software is updated.

Turn off notification for battery fully charged

I noticed on my Verizon G3 the other night that after the battery reaches 100% that the phone then continues to notify you with a vibration and a tone about every 10 seconds.. very annoying. Clearing the notification does not make it go away.. the only thing you can do is unplug. This is very annoying especially if you're like me and leave your phone charging all night long. It also turns the screen on for a few seconds every time the notification goes off.
I checked my wife's Sprint model and noticed she doesn't have this problem. Anyone else notice this and what model do you have? ...and have you found a solution?
For now I've been keeping my phone in a drawer so it doesn't wake me but Im thinking about putting it on an outlet with a timer.. Im assuming because this is not an AMOLED screen that we do not have to worry about screen burn in? or do we?
I've submitted a request to @P_Toti to hopefully get a mod to disable this using the G3 TweaksBox app.
My T-Mobile D851 does the same crap. So annoying.
Weird. My T-Mobile version doesn't do that.
That is strange.
If it helps.. I'm completely stock except for root and Xposed used to change the battery icon, alarm icon removed and I'm using a custom nav bar theme (Android L softkeys)
I'm completely stock.
Does it still do,it if the phone is on silent?
You can download Light Manager and turn it off.
Does it quiet mode, yes.

Light Manager is for the notification light. Whats happening is the phone vibrates, makes a tone, and turns the screen on every 10 seconds or so.
I noticed last night that it does eventually stop notifying after a while.. I think. I plugged in around 11pm.. some time around 4am it woke me up, I continued to monitor the notification trigger every ~10 seconds for about an hour.. I finally put it in the drawer so I can get some sleep.. when I woke up around 9am I noticed it was no longer notifying me every ~10 seconds that the battery was charged. So I'm not sure what's going on. I have my Verizon model and my wife's Sprint model (which doesn't have this problem) both using the same type of usb cable, charger and wall outlet so I know its not a low power issue coming from the charger.

My guess for the multiple notifications - it charges to full, vibrates and beeps to let you know the battery is full, which lowers the battery just a tad...and it recharges 10 seconds later, once again vibrating and beeping, which again lowers the battery...lather, rinse, repeat.
My G3 does it as well - irritating as hell. Even in silent mode it briefly turns on the screen when it reaches fully charged. I woke up last night to find my G3 turning on and off in a 2-second loop. The screen was like a slow-motion strobe light.
I hope someone finds a way to turn off the stupid battery charged notifications...
Mine does this too. Woke me up last night. I'd like to know how to make it stop besides throwing it on silent and turning it upside down.
So I just noticed last night that putting the phone on quite mode or silent works.. not sure why I didnt try that before.. guess it was because someone mentioned earlier that it didnt work for them. So thats my solution for now.. still would like to see some kind of Xposed mod for this.
Putting on silent isn't a good solution. What if there is a family emergency, etc. Some people are on call and cant do this either. I really cant believe LG implemented this without the option to disable it.
Would be great to identify what service is controlling that and maybe removing or blocking it under root mode.

Not silent but quite mode..it allows you to toggle on/off for notifications, calls and notification light. You can also set a white list for allowed contacts in case of emergency.
I rooted and found [ /system/media/audio/FullBattery.ogg ] and renamed this audio file. It'll still vibrate, but no sound now. When you long press the notification, it says its part of "System UI" so it looks like its not easily removable.
Well, that didn't work either.
This appears to be the only solution:
* root
* side load Xposed -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-installer-versions-changelog-t2714053
* grab "G3 TweakBox" Xposed module from Play Store and check "Hide Battery Full Notification"

Already have this installed and selected when it started doing it... did a reboot and it seems to have resolved it for now, but I am wondering what caused it to start doing that...

This partially works. I don't get the notification or the sound, but it still vibrates. I'm going to play around more with this later this week when I have time.
Same issue
Same issue occurs for me, so I just wake up and unplug the phone when I get that message. Very annoying though, to not wake up with a full battery.
This is so annoying, can't believe LG didn't include an option to turn this off. So many of us leave our phones on the charger overnight - so we end up with frequent beeps and vibrations as it charges to 100%, then partially discharges and charges again a few minutes later
Silent mode or quiet mode isn't an option as I need to be able to receive calls for work - I can't whitelist every number that might call me

Question ZFold 3 - disable fully charged notification and force landscape mode while in car dock

Could someone please point me to the notification app that causes the screen to light up when fully charged and how to force the landscape mode when the phone screen goes into AOD mode?
I have a car cradle/charger that is in landscape mode with the phone open like a tablet and it's annoying when the battery is fully charged the screen keeps lighting up. Also, when the screen times out and enters AOD mode, it rotates back to portrait mode when fully opened in landscape mode.
I was able to disable this on my Note 10+ but it seems to be a different process for the Fold3.
Thanks
Are you using a car dock that plugs into the base of the phone or is it a wireless charging dock?

Wireless fast charging dock.
I also use a wireless car dock and have had to make some changes to use the Fold3 properly.
First I set up developer mode so that I could enable screen on while charging. This way the screen would normally not turn off while in the cradle. Here is how to get developer mode set:
Step 1: Go to Settings > About Phone.
Step 2: Tap Software Info > Build Number.
Step 3: Tap Build Number seven times.
Then enable Keep Screen On when Charging which will keep it out of AOD
Second I set up the Assistant menu from Accessibility Options in Settings.
Step 1: Go to Settings > Accessibility.
Step 2: Tap Interaction and dexterity >turn On Assistant menu
Step 3: Select items that will help while driving.
A floating ever-present icon will now be on your screen (you can change the transparency) and you can tap it to show items to change. I use the Volume item all the time as my car dock hides the volume control. Screen off is good if yo want to override the always on while charging setting for a bit. Screenshot is wonderful and easier than any other way to save what you're looking at.
Also make sure all apps are set for Auto rotating so they are easy to use in the car dock. There is a screen rotation selection in the Assistant in case one pops up that is not set to rotate on it's own.
Hope this helps!

Use Bixby Routines to keep it on landscape when in your car. If you connect the phone Bluetooth with your car stereo, use that as the condition, otherwise whatever else might fit (not sure they separate wireless charging from just charging in general). I'm not quite sure what you mean by the phone keeps lighting up when charged?

It only does that for a second and only if the phone is off, so I'm not sure what the big deal is to have that happen, especially if you aren't even paying attention to it because you're driving? Not once while driving have I ever noticed it happen, and I keep my phone on a wireless charging holder in the car (I use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Tethering to my stereo on it for music and Google Maps on my Android car stereo) where it generally is on AOD while I'm driving. It sits right next to the stereo screen.

It lights up my entre cab and the glare blocks vision to my drivers side mirror.
I have the fold open and in landscape mode so it's a significant light source when this happens.
So I assume the charging notifications have been removed from the SYSTEMUI app now?

Why do you have it open if you don't use it while driving, as using it would be even brighter than a quick little blip on the screen? Not sure how it is even that bright, either, but in the car mine is closed on the wireless charger holder since I use my stereo screen for Google Maps, music, launcher, etc. (and when parked can use basically any other app like YouTube or Chrome). Do you not have a stereo screen in your car, as I can see how not having one would mean your eyes aren't adjusted to having a screen in the dark car? (My screen auto-adjusts the brightness, I believe.) What are your phone screen settings?
You can turn off the charging sound, but that's all I see about the charging notification in the settings.
ETA: Out of curiosity, I tested charging it to 100% with the screen off, phone open, and me watching it for when it turned 100%. It did nothing but change the number to 100 and the battery icon to full, so I have no idea what your mean by the screen turning on. I was thinking maybe it does the same thing as when you first start charging it with the green circle thing, but it doesn't. Maybe you are using a third-party charging screen that you forgot about? Like from a weather app or something?

So, if it is already on, I don't understand your problem? The phone itself doesn't do anything to alert you when it is fully charged.
I don't always have the fold3 on when I'm driving at night. Sometime I use a navigation app.
The issue as explained in the 1st post is when the fold3 is opened fully and in the wireless charging cradle, and I am driving (particularly at night) and when the phone reaches a fully charged state, a notification shows "fully charged" and the screen lights up for about 5 sec.
I don't know how clearer I can explain that I'm looking to disable this notification as I did with my Note 10+, which did the exact same thing when fully charged and docked.

Mine doesn't light up like that, so I don't know why yours does. Mine can't be open while on the wireless charger, but closed it doesn't turn on and plugged in while open it doesn't turn on when it reaches 100%. Is it turning on your lock screen? If so, I guess change that to just a black screen. If something else, maybe it is a third-party app you brought over from your previous phone.

My charger is similar (with the suction cup and curved arm going down), but I wouldn't want my phone open on the charger as it would block my stereo screen (2-DIN size) which I use for Google Maps and other apps, and I don't use my phone screen while driving (just use it for WiFi tethering so my stereo gets data and for Bluetooth for music, calls, Google Assistant, and notifications read out loud from Bixby). If I'm parked and waiting, I use my phone in my hand for ease.
I don't know about the setting, but it is weird if they took a setting away but left it as each person had it set at that moment.
Just bumping this thread as I'm still looking for a solution..
The notification I am trying to disable is for 'battery full' and 'wireless charging paused' if anyone can help.
Thanks
