Hello, I have searched the forum but cant seem to find an answer or a problem similar to mine.
So I was using my phone as normal and the power button wouldn't lock the screen. I held in the power button and it brings up a message saying hold power and vol up for 10 seconds to restart so the power button was obviously recognised.
I reboot into the hboot menu and can move up and down but not select, again the power button at fault. However when I hold the power button in here it turns the phone off.
When holding power button and vol up in hboot it reboots to safe mode, with the power key working exactly as it should locking screen and holding in for power options. There have been no recent app installs to cause this.
If anyone knows/ has an idea why it would be greatly appreciated .

Hi,
I'm a complete noobie in android stuff. I want to root my unrooted desire.
But to use unrevoked3, i have to put in bootloader mode and i can't. I press the volume down key and the power key and nothing happens.
What i have to do?

To use unRevoked you don't need to put it in bootloader. It will do everything itself. All you need to do is Enable USB Debugging. And you do that under Settings=>Applications=>Development.
But FYI getting into the bootloader, Hold Volume Down pressed and press Power button, while Volume Down is still pressed.
U need to press, AND HOLD, the volume down key, until the bootloader starts. Is this what doesn't work?

And that's exactly what it happens. I press the volume down key and while i hold, i press the power key and nothing.
But why i can't put in bootloader???

try holding the back button and pressing the power key, that will put you into fastboot, then just use the volume up and down key to select bootloader, and press the power key to confirm
I found how it does. I forgot to press the power button first and shutdown the device and then u can press the volume down button and while u hold it, press the power button again and voilá.

I am having no luck getting my device into download mode (I can't believe it).
If I hold volume up, menu, and power button, 'samsung' in white letters just keeps flashing slowly.
if i let go of holding them, then it brings me to an android recovery screen.
any advice please?
edit: solved ---- thought it was volume up i was supposed to hold, but is volume down

Yep... Vol Down + Home + Pwr for Download mode. BTW, it's the HOME (center) button... not the Menu key.
Anybody else like this? If I press both buttons and power or up-volume and power, it says, "No command." and volume down and power it boots into the OS.
Is it a variant or is it [email protected]#ked or am I retarded?

Should be vol down + power.
Power then vol-down, release vol-down then release power during the Google screen. It worked. I don't know, these buttons make my hands seem like ham.

Inside the menu I've noticed I can't move down...so I was never pressing vol-down correctly. The problem was user generated; I'm dumb.
my phone is stuck on bootscreen I tried flashing it following this method. Everything went successful but I can't go to recovery menu to reset the device cuz it's stuck on bootscreen. Anyone got any idea how to fix this?

I have to hold the buttons, let the power button go til I see the "LG" logo and hold the power button again. Then it gives me the factory reset screen. But you have to let go of the buttons as soon as you see this menu. Then you can hit power, hit power again, and it boots into recovery. Give that a try and see if it works.

ok so I hold down both power and volume down button then the lg logo showed up I released the power button and hold it again then the lg logo disappear and comes again and then it goes blank (um still holding both of the buttons) and the notification light keep on blinking. um really starting to get worried here I exchanged the phone with my galaxy s3 there is no way I cud return it now and I wudn't even try to re-flash it if it wasn't for the miui rom it had installed when I got it. I just want my phone to be at default 4.1.2 and now I'm clueless :crying:

That looks like the Korean download mode. When I use that method to get into recovery it's a bit tricky. I hold both buttons, nothing happens, while stil holding the volume down button, I let go of the power button just till I see the LG logo, then I hold the power button again til the small menu pops up. You have to let go of the buttons really quick when you see this menu because the power button and volume buttons are also the select button for this menu. Holding the buttons too long causes the menu to think you want to exit it....At least that's how it acts on my phone.
Remove battery, wait for 5 sec, attach battery again. press and hold power + volume down + home key, when you see reset option or recovery press power button to confirm and it will be fine.
Just try in the lg mobile support tool on top left and select update recovery the firmware will download and the phone will alobe get in the download mode and you don't have to do anything.

Hi! It is my first topic on xda developers. Last unlocked bootloader and I have a little problem with that. Phone could not turn on, just turn on the boot menu. Through trial and error I turned it off. But when I plugged it into the charger off, again showing the boot menu. It was not a big problem. Today I wanted to upgrade to android 6.0, but at the same time turn on the boot menu. Please help. Sry for english, but i used translator.
