Help: Can#t install gapps with twrp 2.8.6.0. - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

##Hi i'm using an Galaxy Tab 3 Wifi! I Installed CM 12.1 via TWRP 2.8.6.0 like witten in developmet section in the forum. -> Houdini -->gapps will not work --> error: your recovery is missing the xz binary.
After that i realized that my trwp is not the latest and so I installed (by odin) the latest twrp. But it's not working (Pressing power+Volume up has no results) then i installd the old twrp 2860 and there I am.
What am I doing wrong. Why is the latest twrp not working?

Stuck on Huawei Logo (TWRP 2.7.1.0 + Omni 4.4.4.))

Hello,
I would like to ask you to give me an advice to solve my problem.
Where I was:
1. Ascend P6 with TWRP 2.7.0.0 and OmniROM 4.4.3. Phone was functional.
What I have done:
1. In TWRP I flashed TWRP 2.7.1.0 zip - it went OK, no errors etc. Reboot. System was OK.
2. Turned off mobile and again booted into TWRP (it showed as I expected 2.7.1.0).
3. Then I tried to install new OmniRom 4.4.4. - I followed the instructions in the thread how to install it (not just update!). Everything seems to be OK. Then wipe cache/dalvik. Tried to reboot, but mobile "told" me, that it is not rooted and asked me, if I want to root it. I confirmed it, but right after I made the confirmation, mobile rebooted.
4. Mobile stuck on Huawei Ascend logo.
What I can I do now:
1. I am able to boot into TWRP 2.7.1.0. I have omni 4.4.4, Gapps 4.4.2 and SuperSu 2.00 on my external SD card. I tried to wipe and install the ROM 2 or 3 times, but everytime the result is the same - instalation is succesfull, reboot and mobile will stuck on Ascend logo.
2. adb shows device offline. When I connect the phone to PC while beeing in TWRP, adb shows "device recovery"
I have no idea what is the cause of this problem - propably I shouldnt update TWRP to 2.7.1.0 version through flashing the .zip file, I dont know ....
Any suggestions?
p.s. sorry for the english

I cant even boot in TWRP.. the logo of TW flashes from time to time but cant go in.. any suggestions?
Here's what I did to fix my issue:
- Restored original B510 recovery (flash recovery.img and boot.img from the original B510 rom, it's inside the TWRP thread...)
- Added the B132 update to my external SD card. (Create a folder /dload/ and add the UPDATE.APP file to it)
- Started the phone in recovery mode by by pressing volume up + volume down + power
- Updated to B510 again via update.zip in the /dload/ folder
After that I did not install TWRP or any other custom rom as B510 is the perfect ROM for me atm anyway...

Installed KitKat 4.4.2 (CyanogenMod 11.0) 20140116 problem

Hi folks.
I just installed the KitKat 4.4.2 (CyanogenMod 11.0) 20140116 from Novafusion on my GIO S5660.
Now I see "Cryanogenmod" in the lower display and a rotating arrow around a symbol for hours.
Is that normal or did something go wrong.
I had the mobile rooted and px-cwm-v2 installed, cleared cache and dalvik prior to ROM installation.
Installation was done via px-cwm-v2 in recovery mode.
Any suggestion appreciated.
You need to use the latest CWM for KitKat.
I use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...dvanced Edition / PhilZ Touch Recovery 6.40.1
You will have to flash back to stock and root, because to install PhilZ you need to do it through Terminal Emulator. You could also try the latest MMB CWM which can be flashed through CWM (but I'm bit sure if it will flash KitKat properly).
Sent from my GT-5660 using XDA Free mobile app
For recent cm11 roms released in Aug 2014, you need to use CWM 6.0.5.3 to install them.
Read more if you what to know more.
Thanks guys!!!
Unfortunately the PhilZ Touch Recovery 6.40.1 didn't work for me as for some reason Odin got stuck setting up connection.
I assume that access to SD wasn't possible.
But the 6.0.5.3 was installable from SD in recovery.
With that "new" recovery I was able to install the Novafusion Kitkat and now everything is running fine.
Thanks for your valueable support!
working
i just trying install cm11 august releases with twrp 2.7.0.0, not work...then i install cwm 6.0.5.3 and latest cm11 august releases installs correctly...nice work at all

TWRP won't start anymore

I am a bit helpless at the moment. I have the SM-T520. I can enter the recovery Mode, but all I get is the TWRP loading screen. I stays for a minute or two, than the screen turns of and the system boots.
Here is what i did:
- Had CM 11 installed and TWRP 2.8.7.0 installed.
- Wanted to try Lineage OS 14.1
- Updated TWRP to 3.0.2.0 via Recovery
- Took a backup of the system.
- Flashed Lineage OS 14.1 official nightly, G-Apps and Super SU
- Tried to update to the new Lineage nightly a few days later via the build in updating mechanism. It said: it cannot boot into recovery.
- Updated to the new nightly then via Lineage Downloader - app from paolino alessandro
- Since then my system crashed all the time, so in wanted to enter TWRP and reverse the system with the backup i took.
- I got the first time the "not loading TWRP Crash"
- I flashed stock ROM via Odin
- Went to the stock recovery - this worked - and did delete all data and a system reset.
- Flashed TWRP 3.0.2.0 again with Odin - same problem
- Flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0 with odin - same problem
- Flased SuperSU/cfautoroot with odin, then again TWRP 3.0.2.0 - same problem
Maybe someone can help me, because i have no idea, what to do to solve this.

Thanks for the tip. Is every cfautoroot file automatically with cwm recovery? Or do i have to look for a special file?
I already did install cfautoroot with odin, the cable is quite new. Then installed TWRP afterwards. But even then, TWRP did not work...
hello
yes cfaurtoroot comes with cmw
install twrp with cmw not with odin
try to change usb ccable

I think i just found out what the problem is - the micro SD card!
I reinserted the micro SD Card today and i had the same problem - again. I removed the SD Card and the problem is gone. I am not able to wipe the sd card either...

[SM-P607] TWRP install issue (recovery boot loop)

Hi all, looking for some help here.
I picked up a pair of P607's to install Lineage on.
1. I flashed (via ODIN) the latest Samsung factory build from Sam Mobile (Now running 5.1.1).
2. Grabbed the latest TWRP tar file (twrp-3.1.1-0-lt03ltexx.img.tar)
3. Flashed TWRP via ODIN (AP button, selected the twrp tar, unchecked auto-reboot)
4. Held power button and turned off.
5. Powered back on and Held the [home - vol up - pwr] to boot into recovery to check TWRP.... and..... Recovery Boot Loop.
Odly enough, if I get it back into download mode and just boot it normally, it will boot fine back into the OS (stock rom, not lineage yet)
I can recover back to the factory by re-flashing the stock rom again, so it's recoverable.
I've tried with two different 3.1 TWRP versions now, twrp-3.1.0-0-lt03ltexx.img.tar and twrp-3.1.1-0-lt03ltexx.img.tar, both do the same thing.
Any ideas on this one?
There's definitely some odd issues with TWRP for this device...
3.1.1 Failed
3.1.0 Failed
3.0.2 Worked and boots into TWRP
Would be nice to get the latest TWRP working for this device, anyone interested in logs from the 3.1.0 or 3.1.1 attempts?
how did you get out of the boot loop? i cant seem to get back in to download mode

Today I got the same bootloop problem.
Impossible to enter the Download-Mode.
I removed carefully the Backcover and disconnect the battery plug for some seconds.
On the next start I´m holding down Vol- and entered Download Mode.
With Odin I flashed TWRP 3.0.2.0 (same version like before) and its working again without loosing the installed programs.
I think you can also wait until the battery is empty .....
Hope it helps a bit to recover a great tablet.

Most ROMs here install fine with 3.0.2. That's what I am using on my 607T.

Boot into TWRP after updating to version 3.1.1 SM-T210

Hi Everyone,
I have a Galaxy Tab 3 (SM-T210 / lt02ltespr) which I am ultimately trying to get Zoom running on.
I have been trying to install LineageOS version 16 which won't install as version 3.0 of TWRP is too old. I have tried various ways of updating TWRP to version 3.1.1 none of which have allowed me to load into TWRP to install LineageOS (holding Power + Home + Volume Up). I've tried installing through the TWRP app and also installing it via TWRP 3.0 to the recovery partition in boot mode but in both cases I've not managed to get back into TWRP after a power off and holding Power + Home + Volume Up. I have tried Using Odin (both Version 3.04 and version 3.14 to install the latest version of TWRP for the device downloaded from their website but Odin crashes during the MD5 check so that route has never been successful for me.
If there is another way of installing LineageOS from within the main os after updating TWRP that would be amazing or some way of getting the TWRP file I have on my PC not to crash either version of Odin during the MD5 check that would also be great.
Thanks for your help.
