AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development then (but made a comeback later), we decided to change our base to CM/LineageOS when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LOS team, if it concerns their modifications. This ROM isn't LOS supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!
In the beginning we would like to thank:
LineageOS (LOS) team
maxwen
SlimBean rom team
Omnirom team
DU team
audahadi
and many others

We are actually paying for servers that build nightlies/weeklies and everything that comes with it, so EVERY DONATION will really be appreciated and be used to cover those expenses.
Thank you!!

GAPPS:
Open GApps ARM64 / 7.1
KERNEL:
LOS kernel source
The ROMs should contain everything you need to enjoy Nougat...except a root solution.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and - if possible - avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing... then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it!
TWRP as the custom recovery is recommended!1. Full wipe
2. flash ROM
3. flash GApps
4. flash root solution of your choice (SuperSU, Magisk, lineage su-addon)
5. reboot(the ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash GApps once.
Addition for installing root on builds after 17/06/14:
CHANGES (READ THIS BEFORE FLASHING!)
==========================================
YES. AICP is going to build rootless builds.
This change will happen during a short period of time.
I could explain the decision for that,
but that would not be understandable for all users, so i put it this way...
Going rootless means that the ROM will NOT come with any Root or SU built in anymore.
There will be no Magisk - as a buildin root solution - be provided when the user flashes the ROM zip file.
What you will have to do (If you don't do it by now):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You will have to flash a root solution of your choice (lineage-su addon, SuperSU or Magisk) by yourself after the ROM.
I will link the appropriate solutions here in this post.
REMEMBER:
First flash the ROM, then your desired root solution!
This MUST also be done on every dirty flash to ensure root is not lost!
This MUST be done, when using the OTA app too! Just add the "root" zipfile after the ROM!
What will be noticeable to the user:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. We had to cut out some features for getting this done. Those are:
a. The SELinux switch in the dev options is gone for now.
This can also be done by other apps, if necessary.
b. The feature to flash another bootanimation from AICP Extras is gone.
You can still use a flashable ZIP from TWRP or Substratum.
c. The builtin logcat feature in AICP Extras will be gone.
Most users did not use it either as it only can store max. 400KB.
We already advised to use Catlog or Syslog Apps (both free on Play store).
Remember that both need root!
d. The builtin "System app remover" will be gone, as it required root to run.
2. You will, of course, not see Magisk Manager in the app folder, of course.
3. Remember that without a root solution some other apps e.g. Kernel Audiutor will also not work.
Whatever you choose. Lineage SU options are in dev options in settings. The others use separate Apps.
Links to tested root solutions (download from the thread):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Magisk (remember that v12 need the Manager to be flashed separately. v13 will have it buildin the flashable ZIP:
Magisk Official
Magisk beta
SuperSU (Use whatever works for you, stable or beta):
SuperSU stable
SuperSU beta
Lineage SU-addon (check your needed version 14.1 arm or arm64!):
LineageOS su-addons for 14.1
-> the removal zip is available here too.
Well, same as current CM issue with the camera, other than that seems like it's working great
what features the rtom includes?
No Problems so far. I like this Rom a lot. There are a few options more cm has.
Yes this is mm 6.01 latest and smooth as butter.
Super su is the app that's makes root possible on our devices. You off course need twrp recovery installed first, Google it and you will find chainfire's thread here on xda, just make sure it's 2.62 zip,if you want to avoid bootloop.
Camera suks in rom, so just flash g4 camera port it's brilliant and takes splendid pics,works perfect.
I mean Google app from gapps package, (which I don't need) normally people uninstall/freezes unwanted apps with titanium backup,this is what I mean, you dont need to do this,it's just a warning.
Or you can use google camera. Preview picture has green line but final product is OK
Changelogs
As we're getting back into the thread game, keeping up with threads and updating them as per changelogs can be too hectic given our schedule. However, very detailed changelogs always go up on our Google+ page, follow us for constant updates!
For Device specific changelogs, check the second post.
Instructions & requirements
We highly recommend you to follow these instructions very carefully. Users usually tend to skip a few steps and eventually fall in trouble. Are you with me? Good. Let's get this train going.
Just a few things to keep in mind first -
If you're coming from another ROM / Stock, your system data (not internal storage) and cache will have to be wiped. This includes apps, accounts, messages, call logs etc.
There's been some users complaining about different GAPPS variants messing up installs and causing a ton of issues. Upon investigating it seems OpenGapps Mini/Nano work best.
Understand that Paranoid Android is a custom ROM and it might lead to addiction as it's relatively good. We shouldn't be accused of anything just incase your cat starts drinking wine. Things get a little woozy in the Paranoid World.
Some brain might be involved if things go wrong. Not a lot though, as much to solve what's 1+1.
Okay let's get to the main bit -
Once you have all the required files - boot into recovery and wipe the bananas out of your device. Get into the wipe menu and wipe data, system, cache and dalvik cache (basically everything except Internal Storage).
Once wiped, get into the "Install from zip" menu and select the ROM zip. (pa_gemini_6.x...). Once added to the install queue, TWRP will ask you if you want to add more zips into the queue - Click on "add more zips" and select the firmware package.
Swipe the bar on the bottom to flash/install zips. Once both zips are done installing - Reboot into system and set-up your device, after you've let it settle with screen off for about 10 Minutes, do not do anything else! Please let your device settle with screen off for about 10 Minutes after the first boot, otherwise the system wont boot after a reboot!
Once you're done setting up your device - well that's when you're done. One thing though - Make sure you DO NOT INSTALL any other zip in the same queue as the ROM! Meaning, do not flash anything like Gapps, a kernel or a root package while installing the ROM. We recommend you do that AFTER you're done setting up your device.
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock android for your device.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Wiki.
Important Info
Current lineage 14.1 angler nighties are based on the N2G48C (August 2017) monthly update from google. So you should be using the vendor, radio and bootloader img from that update. They can be extracted from the factory image on google's site here. Or you can use the ones linked below that I already extracted:
Note: The radio and bootloader img is the same as what was in the previous monthly google update, so if you already have it you don't need to flash it.
* vendor-n2g48c.img
* radio-angler-angler-03.81.img
* bootloader-angler-angler-03.68.img
The vendor img is flashable with twrp or fastboot. For the radio and bootloader img, use fastboot.
More information and installation instructions can be found on the LineageOS wiki here.
I also have the impression that the networks is slower than on the rom stock and the load is Also slower compared with ampere app and it often me a popu telling me that one service or another no longer works(sort for m'y bad english I do my best)
**** This is an UNOFFICIAL ROM. Install at your own risk! ****
A huge thanks to the Resurrection Remix team!
Another huge thanks goes out to @TJSteveMX for all of the great developement that he did on the Galaxy S4, T-Mobile variant! Since he no longer owns an S4, he has graciously allowed me to continue supporting Resurrection Remix for the JFLTETMO in an unofficial capacity. I know that there are a lot of Resurrection Remix users out there, so I wanted to make sure there was still a current release that would work properly with the AKLU kernel. Please note, this is an UNOFFICIAL ROM.
I also want to send out a big thanks to @dtriguero for all of his help with testing!
Disclaimer: Resurrection Remix is not responsible for any damages to your device.
All of my work is completely available for any who wish to use or modify it. I didn't make Resurrection Remix, the device trees, or vendor blobs. I simply used and edited existing material. A huge thanks should go to those who actually created this stuff.
This Unofficial Resurrection Remix MM ROM was built for and only flashes on the JFLTETMO variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4.
-Download ROM and gapps, and put them on your phone or external storage.
-Reboot into recovery mode - TWRP (I personally installed this using 3.0.2-0).
-Backup what you had. (Just to be safe.)
-Wipe. (I personally wipe everything prior to flashing new roms, but at least do the basic wipe.)
-Install Rom.
-Wipe Cache and Davlik.
-Install Gapps. - Optional
-Reboot to system and enjoy!
Great work another solid build. All seems to work great. Sound works all the way around system,Bluetooth,etc. Works with systemless root but need to remove built in su a updste-unsu script can be found in supersu beta thread and would recommend supersu 2.78 sr1 as I have had a few issues with sr2 and sr3. Systemless xposed 86.2 worked well as did suhide but for those trying AndroidPay or PoGo u will also need tasker and RootSwitch which also work fine during test. cam/vid worked great. I put viper4android and worked great but to install driver must do it before doing systemless root if going systemless or may have some issues it can be done but easier if done prior to systemless. Adaway also workd system and systemless now with dev version in it thread or if on older version app and want systemless they have a flashable zip to get it working once ur systemless. I've tested and did a few more things I sure that haven't been listed but this post of mine is getting all jumbled so if I didn't list something or anyone has a question/issue feel free to ask and I will and I'm sure others will do our best to help
Thanks to @TJSteveMX for his work and allowing others to build apon his work
Thanks @AlaskaLinuxUser for all ur wonderful work with rom/kernel builds and being open to helping others like me to learn
I have much respect for all dev's here on XDA and other forums building roms.kernels.mods,etc. for devices because it truly is not a walk in the park and takes much time to do I Thank u all
Oh! Good to know! I thought it was current. Will do!
Well, slight hold up on the latest build. Synced with source, same trees, same vendor blobs, and same kernel. It builds great, no errors, but the new build doesn't boot. So I am investigating that.
New app to control the GPU voltage!
Hey everybody, sorry I haven't posted much lately. I am in an Android App developer course and have been learning how to make apps in my spare time.
But, to show the fruit of my labors was not in vain, I present this app to you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=69787594
It is an app that I made so you can control your GPU voltage! By God's grace it even works! Be sure to check it out, because I signed up for the course just so I could make this voltage app for our beloved S4!
Sorry the graphics are a bit cheesy, I am still a beginner when it comes to app making.
AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!
In the beginning we would like to thank:
You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Nougat. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Install TWRP version of your choice
Download the AICP zip file
Copy to your phone
Reboot into recovery mode (Volume-Up + Home + Power button)
Wipe Dalvik/art Cache, Cache, System and Data (inside Wipe -> Advanced Wipe)
Install AICP 12.1
Install GApps of your choice
Reboot
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
If you want to contribute to the AICP or wanna see what is being worked on/merge feel free to visit our gerrit, link is at the bottom!!!
Wohoo. Nougat with my favourite (using AICP since LP and MM) Rom. Thank you. Will test it in a few minutes.
Edit:
Works so far. But one thing isn´t working. If i choose the Menubutton to open the menu the recent apps are shown. But in the config its set correct. Any idea??
Yeah, I just tested this too. I'm pretty sure that every nougat ROM for our device will fail this check. I'm not really sure why this is. I have no need for it as I don't use anything that requires it, but I will look into it a bit. Maybe someone else has some ideas/suggestions.
After just some quick reading it appears that safetynet now checks for unlocked bootloaders as well. Apparently it's only enforced on devices with newer kernels. This could be the problem. I'm not sure. I still look a little more into it.
All new ROMS are like that as technically our device doesn't have a menu button, but a recents button. You may be able to set something in settings -> buttons. Not sure.
Yeah sorry i mean the Recent-Button. :angel: In the Button Settings its correct set. Just for fun I assigned all Buttons to have a "Open Menu" Function. But nothing is working. It seems there is a general Problem to open a Menu in an application. Don´t know. Attached a Screenshot of my setting. Never had this problem on any rom before. Strange. I wiped all before flashing.
I try to flash again but this time without gApps. Perhaps this is the problem.
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
